[REQUEST] Development of Android 4.4.3 on Wave devices - Android Development on Bada

Not sure, if it is possible...
But, due to the fact, that Rebellos is inactive and volk204 obviously stopped development and Tigrouzen also quit ZenDroKat, we have to look for new devs to continue work on Android development on Wave devices...
Next target should be Android 4.4.3...
What do you think?

I am pretty much sure the last developer that is willing to work is both rebellos and volk.

I have one dev here in poland, but No on XDA. I tell him about that )

In my opinion...
Better move is to answer here the truth about further Develpment:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459391&page=3
Please our main Developer:
 @volk204
 @Rebellos
Is this end of Development for S8500 and S8530?
@Tigrouzen
I saw only you have removed your work from your site...
I know no details nor reason...
Thanx in advance.
Best Regards

Yes...
It seems to be the end...

End , but @volk204 , @Rebellos @Tigrouzen i request u plz make kernel for wave3 , nd support adfree , team work :good:

How bout u guys try compiling yourself?
I mean they're already many guides out there, So anyone can learn and compile there own Rom!
And I do t think it makes any point to compile a rom with same bugs etc...
I'd rather focus on fixing present bugs then compiling a new rom,
Anyways, M not being disrespectful or something, but telling u the fact!
But if u guys really want then I can compile Rom, but kernel is a bit complicated for me,
So Team work is best!
Cheers.

Very good idea... but...
I think if some users are waiting, and we waiting very long during all this time...
years.
So maybe it is not wrong, if main Developers could tell us...
discontinued or not...
As you can see, Rebellos for instance, not more talk in public...
...but he is "active" in XDA...
In my opinion it is an question of respect...
We are not married... but it is strange... that so many Devs left project...
But nobody is able to say good bye...
hero355 is good example. Check his Signature:
I'm out of from bada development! Thanks all who were interested my Rom and all works on bada.

Thanx hero355, he made things for bada and more and he is fair...
Because he knows few users have hope for his help...
And Rebellos for instance could update his Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459391
""Sorry, no more updates"" or something similar...
Nobody will kill him.
Really easy task...
Best Regards

Compiling is a thing, fixing bugs another.
I can compile ROM or kernel, and changes some in sources for rom and kernel (making Bigmem, SD or Nand kernels for example), but i can't solve any bugs, because it need a knowledge i don't have, and few here have this knowledge...

Well...
I think, we have all abilities...
GT-S85XX are no problem anymore...
GT-S8600 Bootloader is nearly open for Android...
I tihnk, GT-S8600 is a good device to run Android 4.4.3...

Loyal tester, user & fan
After hundreds of flash still back to bada now..
Thank you to all developers
Just made little customization rom base on china's LC2 bada
2.0 source..
WFFARREL

As from my side - the project is discontinued. I'm not interested in working on it anymore. Thanks for such a long time "together".

Thank you very much for answer.
So we know now actual status from our project leader Rebellos.
@volk204
Please, could you answer also...
Continue or end of Development for Wave 1 and 2 ?
Btw. it is NO shame to end projects.
Thanx in advance.

Hi adfree
I think it is near end. I can't fix functional kernel issue like charger without Rebellos.
Now i'm very busy with real life
And my USB is completely broken, but i hope i will repair it.
But i think i can find time to build new releases and support RIL bugs, if we will find it.

Mr. Volk, if you repair your cable and find time for it, is it possible to put latest updates (GPS, modem etc.) on your 4.1.2 rom for one last time? Your roms was really good. A bit slow but number of bugs are very very small. Because of that I always prefer your roms. Thank you for your all works.
Best regards

@volk204
- Could you help us to build Android Kernel on first place, then later ROM for S8600 WAVE3.
Because adfree already hacked bootloader and its opened now for new OS.
If you get some free time, please, take look and try to help us.
Thanx in advance for you help.

Someone asked earlier to compile Oleg sources, here is what i got after compiling with "make PROJECTNAME=s8600" : http://www.multiupload.nl/01QBHIU857
I have absolutely no idea on how to use this, look like it's little kernel made to boot android kernel.

After some search, it look like it's "Little" kernel, some kind of bootloader. It load some function (see here for more info : https://www.codeaurora.org/blogs/little-kernel-based-android-bootloader, i don't find lot of doc about it) but i highly doubt it can boot the whole android system.

i think its froyo because of working cam/camcorder
sounds like you might have a winner here. i am working on porting a rom from the captivate myself...
however you have me a little confused.... why would you port motoblur anything?
most everyone that i talk to that has a moto phone... doesnt want it. it may be hard to sell the idea of motoblur to anyone especially if they know how much crap it is....
its like timescape and mediascape... mainly useless and irritating... ( this is just my opinion) and am just curious why you would like to port that to an x10?
sorry but some screens?
thank's
@OP
i had a milestone... which variant is this rom based on "OH!NO!" / "ShadowMOD" / "HoBoMOD" ????
also some screenshots would be nice...
by the way, all of us should stay together as a team make sure we exist..
@ mods
Please clean this tread.
Give the OP a least a change to promote his ROM
PS this tread is reported to the mods for cleaning!!!
Lets stop this and of you want arguing. There is a nice tread in the general place.

Stop. We're done with this. Please go to the general section if you have problems, we have a huge thread there.
OP, I can't wait for your ROM and I wish you the best!
I've been through this same thing... even though you don't have to as the sources being talked about can't be altered and taken ownership of... if you did use his sources just put it in first page (now if you take one of the tweaks he has made from scratch that is a different story). I got blamed even when didn't use sources and nothing happened out of it as I gave credits to the sources that Cobrato and I used. Trip is a good developer and just had a bad experience several months ago so give him a break. Even though he has come after me, I understand why he is upset and why he questioned me. He thought I themed his rom and changed things, but I am sure he has figured out I don't need to do that with roms. ENOUGH ABOUT THAT
And to the new chef.. I am going to try this out and will give you some feedback..
why do you post this even when people are negative? because it is about you getting experience with rom's and some people, like me can appreciate learning with your first port of a rom and getting almost no help so I will help you out when I can...
PS people will be negative/positive it happens to me, trip, J, and many others... You just ignore it and do this rom for experience and for yourself.

Exactly. They do whatever they like you know, if they want me to stop here so thats really fine be me. Let them working night after night and see what they are getting produced. Other than J, Z and my roms there are only roms that are themed and based on J, Z or my rom. So when i stop just 2 roms left, but whatever if they are happy with 2 roms GOOD. Lots of professional places where i can release roms. And otherwise i'll keep them to myself. Buy a new phone give people who donated me all links to my roms because they know what support and effort means. All others have phone with releasing the same rom over and over again.

wolfbreak said:
xd you started it yourself and opened a already done discussion again. If he has the only working camera on 2.3 then he can share it or not becouse he made it himself and if he is sharing it or not is his choice. Trip didnt released sources and theres no credit in first post so if this are trips file then he have no permission to use it. Zdzihu and jerpelea released their sources so thats a other thing but trip didnt so you need to ask him.

Porting Touchscreen Drivers for ROM's - Instructions

Hey,
First of all some basic stuff:
We've got a United Usb Win7 Touchscreen
Until now( ) the biggest problem about porting new Roms to our Devices was the fact that nobody know how to port the Drivers for severall android/linux kernels
But i've found this site:
http://lii-enac.fr/en/architecture/linux-input/multitouch-android-howto.html
How to add support for your panel If you own a multitouch panel that is not supported on your Android device, and you are able to compile and install kernel modules, you might be able to add support for your panel.

That sounds good to me!
On this site theres an how-to add support for android!(for other kernels and roms)
but i'm a noob at kernel so anyone could please have a look at this?
If this is really gona work, we're able to put some good Roms on our Tablets (for example Honeycomb,Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich)
I've posted this at Urukdroid Developement thread but nobody answered
I hope, some guy who knows a lot about kernel look at this and report here!
Greetz,
Lenn

Nice to see Indonesian developer on XDA.
Why dont you just post the thread under Development subforum since many would see your work there. There are not many developments going on for Xperia S, it would be really nice to see one more developer as it may encourage other developers to come and show their skills.

Hi, I don't plan to put any development in XDA, I just want to share my current work, especially for local forum.. just posting here, incase someone want to test it..
Hi, does this kernel come with autorooting feature and CWM recovery?
Would be very useful if you could add into next version becos I really like your kernel. But since there's no root, I use advanced ics kernel for the time being.

No the point of putting this in development is that a lot more people could download, test and report feedback on your work this seems like a decent kernel aswell, it'd be worth seeing what other devs have to say about it

thanks but i just want to keep it in general section..., because i'm not developing in xda, i think, it is not nice to put something in development section while you can't find something that "developed" in those area. i mean, for me, i just patch, fix some little error, nothing else, i haven't actually "develope" kernel(making new feature), i just backport some high kernel version into this kernel, and i don't think that count as "develope"

The newer kernel version has much better battery life compared to 3.0.8, I can confirm that your kernel's root did not execute properly on ICS, 6.1.A.1.58
Tested out apps that require root like titanium backup and adaway, all returned messages saying no root access.
So, I temporarily use the advanced stock ics kernel.

Only Surdu Roms Available?

Does anyone else know of other roms that will work on our devices? gen 9?

Get Back You Beast!!!! Have you a robot addiction or what? You probably got the wrong device for masses of rom, You should have picked up a Nexus, they pretty much have a rom for each day of the month!! there the CM10 Rom which is usuable
If there's a particular rom you like why don't you have a go at porting it, Folks will help you out if you show some initiative
Also XDA isn't the Biggest forum for archos devices, It's the Best, Obviously because we're all here, ROLF but definitely not the biggest, You might have known French for that
Well I thought I would ask..
I dont really mind that much, Im happy with Surdu`s rom.. I do understand what its like making roms, Im the insanity jb rom maintainer for sgs2, but thats another story

O.K. i see...
Surdu is simply the fastest and seems to build custom ROMs while sleeping
As you see, he created the sticky thread and is very helpful person, that's why he got so dominant on building ROMs.
The best working ROMs are all based on stock... and got more or less customizations.
AOSP and AOKP types (CM as well) are not yet completed, because of the proprietary files inside the Android OS.
There's more reverse engineering to do, to make all peripherals work.
By starting with one of the slim&fast ones from Surdu, you could easily create your own
Simply use a linux host and loop mount the images as ext4.
Depends on the grade of customization, but in most case it would be enough to tweak the system image and leave the kernel+initramfs just in place.

{Discussion}AOKP KitKat 4.4.2 for Xperia Go

Hi guys,I saw in that the Xperia U which has 90% the same hardware as our Xperia Go has already AOKP 4.4 Nightlies,so I decided to make a port for our lovely Xperia Go.I succesfully booted the ROM but I have forgot to include some essential drivers/libs for camera so I remade the ROM but I did another stupid mistake so it doesn't boot again and I need to make it again .But there is no problem as it doesn't take much time so I think until tommorow I will have given you the first screenshots. So I made this thread so we can discusse some non-development related things.Because I am new to Android Development and XDA ROM posting (I have been using XDA as ROM finder since a long time) I think you could direct me correctly.

It is best to compile aokp from source rather than porting it (more performance). But ported rom is also quite okay
@TechBossGR feel free to port it but as @wan5xp said, source built is better. I can help you(or anyone building) for building from source

Yeah but I'm afraid that compiling will take a lot of hours and I don't have so much time to spend there. Also I don't want to make things without understanding what I am doing,I want to know what and why I am doing. That's why I'm asking for a place which explains the basic things for Android building like DeviceTree and other essential things.
I am here again guys and I'm sorry for don't inform you about the ROM.In fact,I was waiting for a new CM11 build so my AOKP port would have less bugs but unfortunately no new CM11 build came out .Does anyone know when or if CM11 will be updated (by Rodger_Rulez)?
