[Q] /data partition size? - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the size of the /data partition on Moto E? Does it share space with /sdcard as it does on Moto G?
My wife's current phone, a 2012 Galaxy Exhibit, has two separate partitions for /data and /sdcard, which means that even though it has a similar 4GB of ROM, she can't install more than about 1GB of apps.

It's a single partition for both, 2.2GB

[Q] EXT3 Partition Exists - but - how to use it?

Hi there pals, after buying HTC Desire second hand I'd like to make FAT32 and EXT3 partitions... I burnt GParted and saw that those partitions exist, so no need for it...
EXT3 has 1GB (in gparted written that is 116MB used???) other is FAT32 - 8GB SD card from previous nokia 5800.
I downloaded every bigger application to test saving files, and from cca. 60mb's internal memory now I'm on 26mb's, obviously nothing goes on that EXT3 partition?
I wanna know how to make my phone install aplications on that EXT3 partiotion not internal memory which is almost full?
Thankful!
I'm using HTC Desire with OXYGEN ROM, some 8GB SDCard!

[Q] Use a multi-partition sdcard ext4

Hi everyone,
I have project in mind but all i did to realize it didn't work.
my project is: i want to use the sdcard with 1st primary partition for saving Roms and updates to work with cwm (fat or fat32), 2nd prim. part. for my data aka "/mnt/sdcard" (ext4), 3rd prim.part. for apps using Link2SD (ext4) and last, optionally, 4th prim. part as SWAP (swap).
this is because i want to use ext4 for /mnt/sdcard but cwm can not read ext4 to backup/restore roms. i tried something with vold.fstab, and init.local.rc, init.rc, /etc/init.d/ but i couldn't achieved the goal.
can anyone help me achieve this?
thx
i'm using CM7 (CyanogenMod-7.1.0-MADTEAM Gingerbread 2.3.7) SD 8GB
512 MB (FAT/FAT32)
6 GB (EXT4)
1GB (EXT4)
128MB (SWAP)
i found a manner to make the first primary partition visible only to cwm: i made it hidden fat.
so android looking for the first usable partition of my sd to mount as sdcard. also by a script i can make swapable the last partition, but this is an option as it is not always wise to have a swap partition.
but some problems remain:
-android forces mount in fat32 for sdcard
-link2sd forces to mount the 2nd partition for its purposes, and it cant because the partition is already mounted as sdcard in fat32. link2sd has to mount the third partition for linked apps.

[Q] Mount more than two partitions

Hello,
I have the SD card with 3 partitions one FAT and two ext2. But the system only mount one FAT and one ext2. I would like to mount the third partition any time the system boot.
Is it possible?
Thanks

Is there any way to merge the way the 16GB internal storage is split into roughly 2.5GB Internal storage, and the 11GB Phone storage into just a single partition?

that's not how the partitions are set. there's actually multiple that total up to the overall "16gb"
What you want to do specifically isn't possible, because the internal space has to be divided up into separate partitions that run the OS, ie the /system partition, the /data partition, the /boot partition, /sdcard, etc.
Anyways, there are other things you can do. There is a modification for the ASUS TF101 for example that essentially merges the internal and external sdcard partitions into one logical partition to combine the space. So a similar modification could be ported to the Rezound, but someone will have to put the time into it.

That's what I was thinking. My TF201 does the same thing. It's just one big 64GB partition (minus the base-2 base-10 differences) I think it's similar to how you would have a separate /home partition in Linux vs. having a /home directory on just /.
However, Amon Ra recovery for instance doesn't seem to have an option to repartition the internal memory to lump it into one like you describe...

No, Amon Ra doesn't have this ability as you stated.. This type of change would have to be done to the actual operating system. And furthermore, if you did make such a modification, you'd probably need to have a custom recovery that could properly address the re-structured filesystem correctly.

Resizing sd card partitions

I partitioned my 32 gig sd card into 2 (fat32 and ext4). This was done for link2sd as I have my phone rooted n I use the 2nd partition for linking applications. But my second ext4 partition is of 12G n the rest is in the fat32 first partition. I also use foldermount to link large game data and obb to the sd card's 1st partition. Now I'm running out of space on the first partition. And the ext4 partition is all free (around 9G). Now I want to resize the first partition to increase its size n decrease the ext4 partition size. Windows doesn't recognize the second partition as usual.
So, how can I re-partition my SD card WITHOUT loosing data on either of the partitions? I'm not worried about the first partition as I can back it up but I cant back up the linked files present on the 2nd partition.
Any help is appreciated.
