[Q] what is the last official firmware for Omate truesmart from omate - Ornate TrueSmart

I have Omate truesmart developer edition 1 GB/8 GB/2100 HZ. The watch comes with firmware Omate_TrueSmart_20131219.1056. Every time I check the update for new firmware, it till that I have the last up to date firmware. However, I saw in this forum many friends talking about other firmwares issued in 2014.
So, are these firmware are official ? Or its contributions from the Developers? What is the last official firmware issued by Omate Itself?
Please, I need reply

Mine is 2014.05.13

Is it officially updated through OTA or you flashed by yourself? Do you have the source to download

What is the last official firmware? Pick a number.
With multiple hw versions (4-5 512/4, 1-2 1/8 1900, 2-? 1/8 2100) there is no simple answer. It has gotten to the point that you run the risk of having your TS not boot by flashing anything. For example if you flash 2014.05.13 on an older run TS it won't boot. Flash and older firmware on a later run TS and it won't boot.

There is only one firmware for each different hardware build. It is not making much of an assumption to say that any future OTA update is very unlikely (Omate don't really seem to have much understanding of the firmware to put it nicely).
We know for example that list4 from Kickstarter (as is mine, received 2 days ago 1/8 2100 EU) has a different eMMC so needs a different boot image. This means that unless you are happy to compile your own ROM and get the different parts aligned, you really shouldn't be looking for any new firmware today. Give it time and it's likely that a dev will step in to make some sense of this mess - for now you're stuck with the firmware that shipped on your personal device.

You can find the latest firmware over at Dees_Troy post, click below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697984&page=13
Have you not read the replies on this post?
As others have said, because of different hardware revisions between batch shipments, your TS will NOT boot.
Be warned!
I'm talking from experience, my TS was from the 3rd kickstarter shipment list which came with the 20140328 firmware, later flashing the Unified Rom.
I tried flashing the latest 20140513 firmware from the 4th kickstarter shipment list, my TS would not boot.
Long story short I got my TS up and running from my TWRP backup.

Step 1) Do not flash 13 MAY firmware on a 3rd list 20140328 firmware device.
Step 2) Flash your 20140328 firmware device only with the firmware you backed up prior to installing the unified (nearly) ROM.
simples.

Thank you for your advice,. My device firmware is 201301219 , so, what the suitable upgraded firmware that i can install?

There is non official FW update. Each batch of TS comes with incompatible FW so do NOT install the FW from new watch to old!
However, you cuuld try to flash (with MTK SPFlashtool) ONLY the "Android" part of newer FW. Maybe it will work!
If you don't know what I am saying than stay where you are. I am not responsible for what you done to your TS!
However, you could try to follow my guild here to backup and get to know what I am saying here before go play!

I've read that some ppl on 3 network have gotten s3 updates already and im still on the stock update, does anyone know about the release dates for the updates on 3?
Are you still running the stock firmware or have you rooted your device? For reference, if it's rooted, you will no longer receive OTA updates and will have to install them yourself.

[Q] THL W3+ Jellybean Update

So I have had the THL W3+ (dual core) for months now and I have to admit that it is a great phone. However, I believe that it would run a million times better with Jellybean installed. It comes with ICS and there has been no update released (right?)
So I was wondering if there was any way to get Jellybean on this device. It runs the MTK6577 processor on which Jellybean has been installed on other phone so I don't see why the W3+ hasn't got the update yet.
Thanks in advance!

Thank you, that would be great! I wish I could help but I'm a newbie. I just know the technical jargon.
However, I just stumbled on a result on google in which a customer review said that "since the just new jelly bean update" the phone runs much smoother? I don't even know how to check for an update because I don't have the option under Settings > About Phone.

There's no option to check for update in the phone menus.
The update will be posted on their website http://en.thl.com.cn/Download/Index.html
About the review you came across, I've also seen it before.
Being desperate for jellybean update, I even registered on that website in order to contact the person who made that comment.
But I was dissapointed as the name wasn't clickable despite registration.
Right now, I even doubt that comment cos I've searched extensively for jellybean without success.
Maybe the person doesn't know how to check Android version.

The firmware that came with my phone allowed Viber. And it's the same version on the website. You should click on "w3 dual core version" not "w3 upgrade" as that upgrade is meant for the MT6575 single core version only.
I saw a comment on the firmware talking about G sensor. I think it would fix your problem. it says " Oct. 8, 2012 update: 1. Optimize the shooting effect of rear camera; 2. Improve the compatibility of the G-sensor to solve the problems of some gravity sensor failure; "
Right now I'm using a firmware labeled ThL.w3.121113.6577.COM.EN
I got it from a Russian forum where they claimed it was the latest official firmware (contrary to what I saw in the linkhttp://en.thl.com.cn/Download/Index.html I posted earlier)
Before I recommend a firmware, what version are you running currently?

I'm finding it difficult flashing this ROM since I'm not sure which ZIP file to flash. There are no ZIP files, only RARs. And they include unnecessary stuff like USB VCOM DRIVER
Edit:
I think I will keep this frimware (the one I said I got from needrom). I just flashed gapps so App store works great. I'd love it if you could post when the Jelly Bean update comes out. I believe this phone could be great with a little more support. Jelly Bean would make it so much more smooth!

ok, I assumed you knew how to flash using SP Flash Tool.
Anyway this is the link to the firmware http://yadi.sk/d/pSQ23rqr29rai
It can only be flashed using SP Flash tool. not from recovery as you did with your current ROM.
if you don't know how to use the tool, you might need to wait for jellybean update.
But hey... even if they release jellybean won't it be in the same format as the one you just got from their site?
they even bundled it with sp Flash tool.

Can you help me reinstall this phone's recovery without using recovery mode? Is that possible at all? Because at this point recovery mode keeps flashing purple colours like the screen goes really weird and all I can do is just restart the phone back into the OS. And the latest firmware doesn't have google apps such as the play store so I need to flash those, but without recovery working I can't.

That happened to me too when I flashed a recovery I downloaded.
The latest firmware I flashed overwrote the recovery to the default.
I'm pretty sure the official firmware you downloaded will solve the problem cos it's exactly the same version that shipped with my phone (version; Oct. 8, 2012). Viber and play store worked perfectly.
In case you only want the recovery back, here's how:
to flash a recovery using sp Flash tool.
what you need is an image file called recovery.img and a scatter file.
1. Create a new folder. Preferably in a path without special characters (just to be safe). example C:\User\recovery
2. Locate these two files inside the official firmware you downloaded, and extract them into the created folder.
recovery.img and MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
Switch off your phone and Do not connect phone to PC yet.
3. Run the Flash Tool and click on Scatter-loading and point it to the MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt file
4. Only the RECOVERY option should be ticked by now.
5. Click on download then connect your phone using the USB cable.
It would download the recovery image to your phone and show a green circle as sign of completion.
That's it.
EDIT: Don't forget to backup your data
EDIT 2: Since you want to flash the official firmware, it will automatically repair your recovery.
in that case just skip steps 1-2 and start from step 3 above and when you get to step 4, all the options will be ticked.

Firmware B170/B166 available

I see this has been available for a few days now, anyone tried it out or seen a change log ?
https://www.reddit.com/r/FunkyHuawei/comments/6zqfqx/latest_p10_updates_vtrl29c432b170_and/
Huawei Firmware Finder doesn't have this version, maybe not released by Huawei, yet?
Nothing here in denmark, latest is b164
This update is not available on Huawei's public servers, so this is not likely to be found on Firmware Finder, until when/if it is publicly released.
The published changelog is as follows, but I don't think it's correct changelog -- Huawei often doesn't offer an accurate changelog until well after, when the update is released to public.

FunkyHuawei is a paid service, so the xda team won't allow any support here.
But I think, that there's something that I can say about FunkyHuawei:
To update your phone with their services you have to buy points. When there wasn't any change, you have to buy at least 5 points for USD $30 and the update takes 1 point.
But be careful with this firmware, I once installed B124 via FunkyHuawei a few months ago and had huge problems with Camera and UMTS (don't have 4G with my sub-provider).
My phone was barely not usable just because of a firmware provided by FunkyHuawei.
So, don't update if you have no problems with your installed firmware, just for having a newer one. There isn't even a changelog, so FunkyHuawei has an firmware, which isn't released by Huawei yet and this can have a good reason.

I tried to upgrade to B166 from Firmware Finder but at the end when the file was downloaded, i got an error pop up.
Saying that the file failed the authentication, hence the upgrade didn't start.
I guess then B166 hasn't been released officially yet...

2 Honor 5x phones not getting B370 and B381 OTA

Hi,
I have 3 Honor 5x phones in my house. One of them has got the B370 and B381 updates OTA, the other two phones don't get any update OTA after B360. I know the new updates have newer security patches so I really wanted to have them on the other two phones as well. I don't know whats going on and I can't really understand why those two phones won't see the updates. I can spot one difference between the phones, the phone that got the update has custom version CUSTC675D003, the other two phones have custom version CUSTC675D002. Infact one of the phones with custom ver 002 has been just purchased but shows no update after B360.
I spoke to the customer care guys via online chat and they said that the new phone will see the update after 15 - 20 days of updating to B360 which I highly doubt. Regarding the old phone that does not get the update, they said they will forward the complaint to tech support and they will fix the issue. It's been 4-5 days and the old phone still has no notifications for the new update.
Request someone to please throw some light on the issue....

Have already tried that, problem is that I see the B370 update listed in the app but when I click on it, an error pops up saying "the file seems to have been removed from the server" so can't download the update from firmware finder as well.
I also have the same problem. (I have B360 version & My custom version is CUSTC675D002..) When tried via Firmware finder, i got same "the file seems to have been removed from the server". Any suggestions.?

Have a good day.

Download from where? The B370 update is not available for download on Honor's website because its not an OS update. Firmware finder says the update file has been removed from the server
Let me check if there is any link. These updates rollout in rolling manner and varies for every user, some get on 1st day and few after 2 months

Would be really great. I think I found the link to download B370 update and it seems apt for my phone. It has a number in the name of the extracted folder (67983). It matches to the number found next to the B370 shown by firmware finder for my phone. But, I am not installing it yet because I would need B381 as well because I think there were some issues in B370 which were addressed in B381 and I am damn sure the phone will not show notifications for B381 by itself and it will have to be manually done again.
I had an honor 4c which didn't show any update in 2 years and Huawei's customer care had no answer for it. I had to manually hunt for each update to bring it to lollipop and then to marshmallow from kitkat. So, I think I would definitely need B381 as well.
I am also a bit hesitant to update the phones manually because from the looks of it, it seems custom version D001 and D003 phones have got the updates OTA. The problem is with D002 only and I fear these manual updates might break something that's why Huawei is not seeding them to D002. The old 5x was updated to B360 around 2-3 months back and still haven't shown notification for B370.
It would be great if you could find a link to B381 instead of B370 and then I can try manually. Huawei's updates are like a difficult puzzle. I think I'll stay away from Huawei and Honor in the future.

Well, that is a firmware of a slightly different model of honor 5x that you are looking at. Mine is the Indian variant with build number KIW-L22C675B360 and custom version CUSTC675D002. The new firmware build file should have the name as L22C675B370CUSTC675D002....something like that

Hmm, looks like my only option is to wait and see if I ever get an update. By the way where do you check the updates? I didn't get that

Share the files with each other. But you not be able to update via dload as its small file that can be done via OTA only

I mean Rajible said he has the B381 files for manual update via dload folder and I have the B370 files for manual update. I can manually update B370 first and then manually update B381

Ok can you update the post once it has been found?
So, anyone flash this yet? I'm tempted but won't be back home to a PC (in case something goes wrong) until tonight. Just looking for some general impressions.
So, I did this. Pretty impressed with the overall device feel now, SE9 is nice . No hang ups other thank it took a long friggin' time, also remember this will WIPE all the data, so make sure to do a backup prior to. The initial/first phone setup is very iPhone-ish, imo.

Be warned; this update is ONLY for SM-G930A firmware - it has a second-stage updater that blocks all other versions (including SM-G930T, which I myself tried). In other words, it is a carrier-specific update, folks.

HIGHLY doubtful - not with a specific firmware check in place.

You could try flashing G930A firmware in Odin and updating that way.
(Not sure it'll work though)

If it weren't for this being a daily driver, I'd consider it. However, because it is, that's not an option. So I'll have to wait for either a neutral version or one that will work with the SM-G930T.
I am currently testing it out, I was on the latest U firmware and downloaded the latest ATT firmware, will update on how it goes
**EDIT
I am getting a model mismatch trying to flash G930AUCS4BRA1 (full odin file) on to a G930UUES4BRA1 firmware

I had the same issue. The recommendation of rebooting into recovery and wiping Cache works.
