Kernel double tap to wake - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all I would have a problem, or rather a wish, I wish I had the double tap to wake on my s3 ... I mount the rom resoluction remix and is a rom based on the CM11, I would like to know if anyone knows a kernel that runs on my s3 with this feature of the double tap to wake ... Thanks and sorry for my english

There is an app called knockr on play store but a little buggy search for it. . It fits that thing but not with accurate precision. .

Yeah the problem is that this app drains a lot of battery. It doesn't let the phone go in Deep_Sleep mode.

Its not what the guy wants. This is just a modification of touch2wake with 2 taps that is only available for a short amount after the screen turns off. Real double tap to wake always works and needs special hardware.

I'm afraid moster2 is correct. The touch device is shutdown after sleep, the controller cannot work in deep-sleep, keeping it on prevents the device from entering that state. It's always running at 200mhz.

Then how is it every Nexus Device have this option in its custom kernels ?

fluxi is a kernel like siyah ma8, in that in order to get rid of the negative mode effect u have to swipe form left to right on the screen with two fingers
And after that disable that function in tweaks app.

Can you direct me to the disable function? What is Tweaks app (xxTweaker I guess, but couldnĀ“t find it in that app).
It's an app which controls the kernel.
But since I'm using Siyah and ExTweaks, I can't tell you where is that option in xxTweaker.

Since you are running the Neat ROM, I guess you are using the Siyah kernel.
So, in ExTweaks, go to the Screen tab. At the end of the page, disable "mDNLe Negative Toggle."

[Q] Wakelock?????

HI i dont know if its a wakelock or not i have an s2 when i turn off the screen and then after awhile i press the home key to turn on and nothing comes on and the screen feels warm.THen i hold down the power key for while about 5 secs or more and it reboots.can anyone please help me?
It's called Sleep Of Death. Probably you under/overvolt too much.
Wakelock is when your phone exits from deep sleep.

Usually you can take a CF root kernel, as it is based upon stock kernel, so if the sleep of death comes
from tweaks in the custom kernel previously installed, you won't suffer any more of it.
But as far as I know, some new stock kernels for new versions of Android are prone to this defect as well,
so you will only limit the occurences of this if you are installing 4.1 versions.
I don't remember it to have been present under GB (A2.3), if you value most stability over fanciness.

[REQUEST] Port Double tap Lock and Unlock

Hi XDA ppl,
Is there a way that you can port the LG G2's double tap lock and unlock? It would be really nice if we could use it on our device.. I mean my note 2 power button is getting sag because of locking and unlocking for daily basis use. if anyone could port this feature it would be really great to have this on any android devices..
Although it's not impossible to port this feature, but I think it will take some time till someone figure it out how to port it to our device. Meanwhile, you can try a similar app like this but using your built in sensor/accelerometer. You can find it at play store

Hi
If you are really interested in the TouchWake option, you should read the official thread about your kernel. My quess: The Perseus kernel hasn't been updated in a few months, so this probably wont be a feature of this kernel.

Use devil kernel or saber kernel or neak kernel.. They all have touchwake feature.. But I haven't tested them due to my exam, try them and I think they would be cool

Thanks alot for the idea guys..but i prefer most on normal installation so that's why i preferred it to be ported rather than flashing. anyways if I no one would try to port it I will gonna try what you've suggested.. Thanks again!
The perseus kernel does have support for Touchwake feature. With the app eXperience in the Google play store this function is activate

Reading the devil kernel thread I understand that this touchwake feature is set to stay for some ms after locking the screen, because the wakelock drains too much power if kept running. After that time the wakelock is stopped and you'll have to open the phone the usual way buttons/wave. So personally i abandoned the idea. Don't remember the link though you'll have to search.

I can't post links here. This is still my fourth posting. Sorry.
In the search field of Google Play Store type: eXperience Pro
You will find the paid app. Scroll down the page and you will see the lite version.

Hi
Read carefully:
To set the TouchWake option you need an app for it.
You can buy the app for the neak kernel from the playstore and set the TouchWake and other kernel settings.
If you are creative, Trickster could have the solution for you in the playstore.
Remember: Set the time-out to zero for always touchwake.
Good luck

I think you should do some more research on the TouchWake option.
TouchWake is revolutionary in my opinion and by far not battery unfriendly at all.

I found it here on playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aperture.ezekeel.experience&hl=en
Yeah I might me late, but just thought of sharing if you did not find.
Read the details carefully. Free version supports only few devices. Pro supports more as per the developers. :fingers-crossed:
Read reviews before purchasing.
Cheers

This is a kernel feature, not part of the rom.

tnx for your replay
have a way to install this for s5?
there is a built in work-around bro, turn on air wakeup in accessibility setting, you can wake up your phone by gesture. my tip is you dont need to follow the illustration exactly, just a light swipe near phone sensor is enough to wake up your phone. somehow I find it more comfortable than knock on

Do replacement screens support wake gestures?

Can anyone please tell me if the screen replacements for Redmi Note 3 available on sites like eBay and Aliexpress support wake gestures and double tap to wake functions?

I was actually concerned about the touch panel that will come attached to the screen because I remember reading in some custom kernel threads that a FocalTech touch panel will be needed. There were also steps to check which touch panel our device has.
So, are you sure there won't be an issue? Maybe you have tried it already?
