Hello
Are you new to this forum?
In case you are, welcome. Unfortunately there is no current root exploit at the moment, however some are hard at work to bring you this. Please take some time to read through the forum.

There is a useful thread here but make sure first you understand exactly what you are doing and why. If not, ask first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038464
Worked perfect, unlocked, rooted, and rom installed in about 40 mins.
THANKS
Hi ,
Congrats to you for getting a new rom . Actually I am also in the same boat as yours.
I read the instructions for root and installing the twrp and i think i can take the plunge.
However if you can guide how to install custom rom compatible with this twrp, that would be really helpful
Do i need to flash bootloader as well to install the custom rom
Would be great if you can point me to some instructions

You should find full information on compatibility in the first post of each ROM's development thread. If there is something you don't understand then ask there. You don't supply any information on which bootloader you have. You can double check from the position of the nvidia logo on startup: bottom middle = ICS, bottom right = JB.
If you are new to all this I would recommend you do a lot of reading before attempting anything and make your first custom ROM one that offers the best support. When you have chosen, spend as long as it takes to read and understand everything in the thread. Good luck :good:.
Thanks a lot for the advice
I am stock 4.1.1 jb, can you please let me know which custom rom would be the best to start with

Do you want to keep root?
if you're rooted, IMHO its best to manually flash roms. Unles syou dont want root, in which case its best to download a full version from sammobile.com to return it to stock.
OTA updates don't work if you're rooted, you'll get an error

try kingo root http://www.kingoapp.com/
srs root http://www.srsroot.com/
or if you have stock recovery in your
phone directly install superuser.zip or
probably flash cwm and then
superuser.zip
or try framaroot
Well framaroot doesn't work. Where would I get the superuser.zip from? I have stock recovery but dont know what I can do. I can't find anything on the polaroid s10 only same brand just dif model.
Looks like that there isn't anyway to root the polaroid s10 Maybe downgrade it or something, but I wouldn't know how to do that either. Please someone on the interweb help me with this tablet.

In this case, that is a good thing FYI. Cydia Impactor should be able to get you rooted then. Follow the directions in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47966088#post47966088
It may say this is root method for a different device in that post but Impactor works on alot of phones and I am too lazy to write out directions for you lol (too much turkey last night), it is much easier to just link to that post.
If you have any problems let me know and I will do my best to help. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

You could just hit my thanks button at bottom left of any post. Sorry but I do not know of any custom recovery of roms for this specific device, you may try googling but since you could not find a root method until now I dont think there is much development for this device sadly.

Well that stinks I don't really like the stock rom. I have cyanogenmod on my phone, wish that more poeple would start to work on this tablet soon.
ok so now my polaroid s10 is stuck at the boot logo and I can't get past it. Please help me :crying:
Don't know if you were able to fix your boot loop, try looking for a way to hard rest. As for root, the tablet comes rooted. You have to download 1mobile and install superuser and you have full root. As for getting play store and Google frame work. Go to polaroid site and there will be a download for phoenixsuit that you will have to download and install from a computer. Hope some of this helps
download the updated rom
heres the link. installs thru pheonix suite

If you would have read XDA's rules, you would know you aren't allowed to ask for ETAs, plus it is obviously that there are no roms for this device. If you would have just searched through the topics instead of getting lazy and considered that spamming the forum would be easier, taking in consideration that there are at least two others topics about this...geez :silly: .

Sure, if you view the device as disposable. HDX devices are nearly impossible to recover once the system partition becomes borked. Good luck.
Thanks dare

XDA is the best vehicle as others benefit from the conservation. That said, there are no root, custom ROM or rollback solutions for 4th gen HDX devices running FireOS 5.3.2.1 or above. Really nothing more to discuss.
