[Q] Please help with uninstalling - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hi. I am hoping someone can help. At some point I added a swipe to answer app or APK. Anytime I get a call, the app over rides the stock answer method. I need to remove this app as it's not working well, but cannot seem to find this app anywhere. Anyone know how to have the stock answer swipe back? Do I need to reinstall an APK?
Thanks for the help.

The first thing we need is a little more info. Is the device rooted? Was it an app from the Play store or is it an APK that you pushed on through a file manager? Do you remember name of the app or APK? You might try going to settings/general/application manager/all applications and disable it there.

I believe it was an APK. It is nowhere to be found in my applications. I reset my default app presences and that made it go away, but is now popping up again. My phone is not rooted. Thanks for the help.

If you're sure it's an apk that you installed, you should be able to find the apk easily in an App Manager type program. I'd honestly recommend Titanium Backup for this, but it requires Root, so it's not an option for you. I tested out Android App Manager, and it should work for you. You can find any installed apks with this app. I'd uninstall it once you're done, as it has a persistent notification, but it should be able to find any installed apks.
Hope this helps

no XM icon after installing

Hello,
I need your help,
I installed the Siruis/Xm app from the market. It installed, but I can not see an icon in my app drawer. when I go to setting --> manage applications, I can see that it was installed. and I can uninstall it.
I uninstalled it, and DL/installed again. I still see no icon. I was able to sign in. I rebooted the phone maybe it will show the icon. Still no icon.
Right now , I have no idea how I can open the app again, bcoz I can not see an icon.
Your advise on how to fix this will be very much appreciated.
thanks.
I've never used that app or had that issue but if the app opens a temporary work around could be to open it through the market.
yes, that what I am doing temporarily.
I hope there is a better way than this
Try looking the app that's named online.. its should be a blue square with XM in it..
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
on my third re-install I finally got an icon.
Thank you everybody for replying

Can't establish a reliable data connection

Recently, the Google Play store stopped working for me. It kept saying "No Connection" and the Retry button didn't do anything.
I looked up a few solutions, and none of them worked. Finally, I gave up and reset my device to factory settings.
Now, when I try to set up my account, it sits for a minute and then says "Cant establish a reliable data connection to the server".
What should I do?

By the Android Version I think you probably dont have a custom rom. Now since you don't, the easiest way without spending hours on the internet researching is to call your phone provider's technical service and they'll help you. This is a direct and easier method rather then searching online.

Sorry about that. Well if you didn't root it, you should have your warranty and Samsung would definitely help you.
I wouldn't recommend taking any device back unless you have exerted all the possibilities of a fix. People's time is precise in my opinion.
What you can do is try factory resetting your device, it might of been a issue relating to updating the Google Play (Market) application.
Hope this helps.

To clear the data, you find the application (Market) in the applications section of Settings, and then press the button that says "clear data".
I did that, and nothing changed.

That's not what clearing data means. You would have to go to settings, apps, find the play store, and then clearing the data

Yes, my device was rooted before I reset, and it still is. I have been able to get most of my apps back by using Aptoide (alternative to Market, doesn't require google account).

Well since you have a Google account, try this. Log into your Google account on the computer. Go to the play store. Go to my apps. And download it from there. I highly doubt this will work because you don't have a connection but its worth a quick shot. Also since you do have root, did you backup your apps via titanium or any other app? You could get all your apps and data back that way.

I tried downloading from my PC, but it didn't work because the account wasn't synced. I was able to get pretty much everything back by using the Aptoide store and downloading the .apk files manually. I don't need an account on the device to use it anymore, so everything's fine.
I came out with a solution for you, but you will need to take a couple of steps to get it completely working.
First thing you need to do, is download a Play Store APK file, and save it onto your device. (Click here to download)
Next step, since you're rooted is finding a Root File Explorer to remove the Play Store file you have installed on your device. ( Try This *Note, haven't tested myself*!! ) )
When it's removed, feel free to install the play store apk from the first step to your device.
Hope this helps, is so, feel free to like.

[Q] Remove specific app from Play Store list

Hi,
I'd like to know if there's any way I can remove an specific app from the Play Store list, without uninstalling it. Or if there's a way to remove this app from the apps that are checked for updates.
The reason is that I have a Motorola Defy+ and I like the stock music player, which is just fine. There's an update called Tune Wiki which is, in my opinion, pure crap. So in order to install updates of all my other apps I have to install one by one, because I can't choose the option "update all" since it would update the music player too.
Hope I was concise and clear. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well. Benn testing this issue for ya here on my end. I am on the updated version. And sorry....no you can not remove installed apps. I may be wrong...but I can not find any way to make it more customized.

No data or wifi connection

I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You can try a factory reset as a last resort

Thanks dansou but the problem is not the battery. I believe the power was draining because an app was trying , constantly, to access the wifi which will not connect.

Just did a factory reset and everything seems ok.
Just one other problem: When I log in to google play it is showing that I have 2 apps installed (airdroid and astro) These are no longer on my phone but google doesn't want to believe that. I've tried to trash them and tried installing them but nothing happens. It just says "These apps will be un/installed shortly"
Any thoughts?
Thanks

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

If it's showing that only on the website, you shouldn't have to worry about it... It does that
It's probably showing them for the "old" one, before you did a factory reset

Oh I see now. I'm sorry, I thought you were saying that the phone was showing it.
Like WinSuk said, I don't see the problem if it's only showing it on the website. It could be showing what's installed on your wife's Aria if you two are sharing an account.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here.
The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?
Thanks again for all your help

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:
Thanks for every ones help.

Yep, the Android Market was renamed to the Google Play Store.
It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store

Hi,
The app is installed. Im able to open it. But the app is not listed, because that is a functionality of the application.
As stated in play store
"Its completely hidden in every way, there will be no icon in your application list and no trace of this app ever being opened. Complete stealth!"
Now I dont want a phantom app running in my phone. So please help me remove the application
