Information
These are the monthly releases of CM with some modifications and touch ups that will be listed below, They are meant for users who want a stable ROM without the need to flash nightly releases and risking a Nandroid, anyone who has enjoyed the stability of my Google Edition ROM should give this a go
all builds have their core features tested (Camera, bluetooth, bluetooth audio, tethering, USB audio, Data, Voice calls etc), I also adb debug each release and look for any redflags, I then set up the phone and daily drive it with a few of my testers and once I deem the release stable it will be posted here.
Note: The CM camera works but it's not the best, SnapCam HDR (Paid app) from the market is much more stable and has a ton more features (these developers only focus on the 4.4 open source camera and making it better), I highly suggest doing what I do and removing the stock Camera and Gallery and using this awesome app which also includes a gallery with more features, myself and ktoonsez swear by it. The stock files are found in system/app.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[B]06/01/2014[/B]
I was VERY happy with how 5/31/2014 ran on my phone but noticed a few commits merged last night that were authored by bossman Cyanogen himself, so here is your changelog. I feel like the foundations of this ROM are set now which I knew would take a few builds
so if all goes well with this, I will start bi-weekly releases because I'm extremely sick of full wiping/testing/compiling, I just wanna use my phone as a phone!!
stagefright: yield callbackDispatcher to writer only for video
libstagefright: Fix to handle EAGAIN error on first read to source
audio: mute duration at the beginning of recording

Themes: Add read/write permissions - 2 commits
Fix broken tags
Remove Status bar notification count checkbox preference <--- main reason for this update, I don't like broken toggles in my settings menus, no idea why CM just leaves them in there, it's rather annoying when there is ZERO java controlling them

Very nice, gonna give this a flash.
If I could make a suggestion, maybe offer a F2FS modded download too? Since it's using Kt's kernel it supports F2FS. Also a link to his TWRP modded version as well. if you decide to do this.

Nice! Deffinitly gonna try this!

Having a lot of problems with the back button not working in apps. This happened occasionally in official CM11 but it's happening a ton more on this build.

No issues here man. I support all 4 variants of the s4 and its my first time hearing of this. I'll keep an eye out but I'm quite sure there's no issue

Not one single problem so far, other than the typical CM with v* network extender. Great job, Dan

It connects fine. Any cm rom I've ever ran has trouble with network extender. It always shows roaming. At least yours, the lockscreen does say
Network extender. I have to allow data roaming to get everything to work, without the pesky roaming message all the time.
I'll like this so far, I'm going to run it for the next couple of days to see what happens...

Flash immediately after flashing ROM.

Will be testing this out today. One of my big beefs with CM on this phone is bluetooth streaming. It works, but works suckily (that needs to be a real English word, lol). Drops, buzzes, etc. Dan's GE ROM works great, obviously because of the up to date proprietary drivers. I've tried bumping the minimum clock speed, etc. to no avail. But I am forever the optimist and will try this out later today because Dan and KT are teh awesomeness.

FAQ
Q: How do I install this ROM if I am S-ON?
A: Install the ROM from recovery as you normally would. During installation, select S-ON when prompted by Aroma. The installer will create a PH98IMG.zip file on your /sdcard. When installation is complete, reboot to your bootloader, either from Amon-Ra's Developer menu or TWRP's Reboot menu, and then select BOOTLOADER from the fastboot menu. The bootloader will prompt you to press VolUp to install the PH98IMG. Do so, and the kernel image will install. Be sure to delete the PH98IMG.zip file from your SD card when you're done so you'll be able to get back into your bootloader easily if necessary.
Q: What's the difference between SuperUser and SuperSU?
A: Functionally, both provide control over root access given to applications and services. SuperUser is the default app in CM9, and has been the long time standard on Android. The basic version simply provides per app allow/deny options, logging, and a few global options. A donate version is available that provides more granular per app logging and notification options. SuperSU is a recent entry that fixes some problems that the developer perceieved in SuperUser and seeks to provide more advanced features. The basic version provides all of the features of the basic version of SuperUser and more, including temporary unroot, per app notification configuration, wake on prompt, and more. The choice between the two is completely user preference. SuperUser has the edge in longevity and familiarity, SuperSU has the edge in advanced features. For most users, one will work as well as the other, but if you are having trouble getting root to stick on one, try out the other.
Q: Why does my screen go black when I'm on a phone call?
A: Your proximity sensor is being incorrectly triggered. Most of the time, this is calibration problem rather than a sensor problem. To fix, download Chad0989's Rezound Proximity Sensor Calibrator app. You will see a "NEAR" reading on the screen. Slowly increase the High Threshold until you see a "FAR" reading. Increase the High Threshold by 3-5 more than it takes to trigger a "FAR" reading. Test the new settings by covering and uncovering the Verizon logo on the front of the phone. The reading should switch between NEAR and FAR. Check "Set on boot" and close the app. If this fix does not work for you, your proximity sensor is bad, and you will need to contact Verizon for a replacement phone.
Github info
The main manifest of this ROM is at https://github.com/CounterShrike/android. While anyone is free to view the code and compile it on their own, no one else is given permission to release the ROM as is without written permission. The purpose of the public git is for open collaboration, so I encourage everyone with anything to contribute to go check it out. This github contains the main rom code only. Boot animation, tweaks, and Aroma configurations and scripts are only available in the official release.
I'll take this one just in case.

I'm really sorry to hear that he had to give it up. I remember him saying that he was having nerve issues, but I didn't realize that it was that serious. I've had great success with Project Rachel so far, but I'm still looking forward to see what you can do with it.
Edit: I saw that it was unrelated to nerve issues in his thread. Hurt his back.

I want to say this. I have a lot of time invested in this rom. I have become good friends with these guys and I know they wont let me down. Snuzzo should get the biggest thanks because without him the OG rom would have never happened. Shrike, I know you wont let me down . Synister I am sure will do some kind of mods for it so I know thats taken care of. I would appreciate it Shrike if you would ALWAYS use Snuzzos kernel. Plain and simple, his kernels are unmatched. Well I will be on and off the scene and I hope this project turns out as good as I hope it will. Thank you all for your support and assistance.
I have a dream. That the community could come together and make an awesome rom.
Will offer any support I can to this rom.

this is awesome haha. im really glad that shrike could step in to help. with my lack of knowledge all i can really contribute is bug reports and testing , but ill be here
He’s the hero XDA deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. Apophis9283.
Lol, sorry, I had to. In all seriousness though, thank you Apophis. We appreciate everything you've done, and I hope your medical issues get resolved.
Thank you guys. Appreciate it

Just to let everyone know what's going on right now, I want to make this ROM easy to maintain, and easy to contribute to. To that end, I'm currently in the process of merging every commit this ROM has into my github. It's a long, involved process, but I think it will pay off dividends when I'm done. Anyone will be able to view the code, and anyone will be able to contribute code for consideration. As I said in the OP, this might take a week or two, but I think it will really allow this ROM to come alive as a true community effort.

I should be able to upload all that for you to mine. Let me know something. I can probablt do it tonight or tomorrow night. If that makes it easier
Also just to clarify it was a combo of both, nerve issues in my right leg ( going to see a specialist soon ) and lower back injuries that caused me to decide to pass this on. I cant sit at my computer desk for long periods of time. I am only too happy that I have some good friends and good people on this rom now.

Also I will bve uploading a new version tonight. It was what I had already started and he can add it to the op whenever the changelog is only 2 things but they are fixes. heres is the changelog....
1) f/b: fix wrong qcom ifdef
2) Fix Issue 5547: Apollo will not play MP3 files when using Root Explorer
http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390135922294522588
he can upload this version to the op and I am out fellows. I will also try to upload what I have to github for everyone else
dirty flash should be fine.
Bruce , thank you very much for the donation man. I really do appreciate it.
Just to note that the new build from apophis is up in the OP now.
Also, Neo is awesome. Just saying...
Things are going much faster on my end than I expected. No promises, but I should have the first new build up for you guys early next week. Have a few more commits I'm eyeing, so I'll try to finish getting everything in my git and get those new commits integrated and get a new build out. The new name will be debuting at that time as well.
Quick opinion poll: would anyone be upset if I took ROM Manager out of the build?

Nope. Off with its head!
@shrike
Don't try brunching in my kernel . You won't have wifi. I am setting something up to keep using aokp's wifi

Yea, I already noticed.
I'll switch my manifest back to Chad's for now and put yours in post-build. Let me know when I can brunch again, and let me know if I need to pull in or revert some commits.

Yeah what I'm thinking about doing is keep using AOKP's wifi for my own personal builds and revert with a cherry-pick whenever I build a kernel. Either that or setup another branch to pull from.
What you think? Might even be able to use the funky_kernel repo for brunching.
As that is setup to use HTC binaries from source. Not quite sure if that will break anything tho

Um... Guys... Experiencing random reboots on latest build. Could it be the governor? Currently using lazy.

Gapps are now baked in! Rom carries a new AOSP Setup like you would see on a Google device for quick setup. Personally, I would skip the mail sync portion for now but it's entirely up to you. Having gapps baked in ensure that you do not delete the camera, have an extra gallery, or destroy the Sphere view ability..

-Neo's Sphere Camera: DOWNLOAD
-Amon Ra Recovery 3.15: DOWNLOAD
Q: "How do I configure the wireless tether app to work properly?"
A: "Tap menu, then settings.
-Change the Device profile to HTC Rezound
-Change the Setup Method to Netd (master)
-Enabling WiFi Encryption is your choice, however, I would recommend it (password protect your hotspot!)
-Enabling the encryption will allow you the next option of creating a password for your network.
-Changing the SSID is the name of your network hotspot that you want to show as an available network.
-You can enable access control if you like but it is not necessary.
-Scroll all the way down and check off "Enable routing fix"
That's it! Ready to go."
Q: "Ever since I came to AOSP, I get these weird, annoying text messages from Verizon. How can I make them stop?"
A: " Click this:
http://www.verizonwireless.com
-Sign in at the top right corner.
-If an add pops up, bypass it by selecting the link that says "Continue to My Verizon"
-Under the "Plan" options in the middle of the screen, click on change features.
-Select your phone in the next window if it asks for it and click "Next" off to the right of the screen.
-Here you can choose to add and remove features and it's the 2 cloud storage options that you want to opt out of or disable. They were free any way and most don't even use it. Continue in the bottom right corner after that and I'm sure you can figure out the rest!
***NOTE***
You most likely will get slammed by a recall to delete message for every weird text you received since switching to AOSP. After that they are gone for good."
Q: "Battery percentages do not match what the system shows when power is low or what is showing on the statusbar or lockscreen. Can we fix this?"
A: "This is a known HTC issue and there is not a fix for it at the moment. Your best bet would be to stick with the lowest percentage the system indicates is the remaining power for your battery. There is however a 1% battery mod that attempts to give a more accurate reading but it doesn't always work. I may attempt to merge it into one of these builds eventually."
Q: "Does this ROM suffer from choppiness of the homescreen like many others?"
A: "The choppiness of the homescreen is due to the default settings within Apex Launcher. Users can tweak their individual homescreen transition and scrolling settings to fine tune it's performance to their liking and nearly do away with any lag or choppiness resulting from the preset. A good first start would be to change the wallpaper scrolling to fixed, or setting the minimum scrolling time to somewhere betweek 1-4. 0 is NOT fastest."
Q: "Is this rom for S=OFF ONLY people, or can we S=ON people flash your rom?"
A: "At the moment, I have not created a rom specifically for S=ON flashing. However, if you are on one of the last few ICS firmware released, you can extract the boot.img from the zip and you will need to flash it in hboot after flashing the rom"
Q: "I am still on Gingerbread firmware. Is this rom old firmware friendly? If not, will the Gingerbread patch I have from another rom work with yours?"
A: "It is not old firmware friendly. However, you may be able to use a Gingerbread Patch from another rom. If you've tried this, please let me know if it worked.
Q: "In order to use the rom previous to flashing yours, I had to flash a Gingerbread patch. Now that I have flashed your rom, I get these reboots every 15 seconds. Why is this happening?"
A: "Since you are on the older firmware, you are going to have to flash this patch each and every time you switch to a newer firmware rom. That will fix the issue"
Q: "I flashed your rom but while I'm on it, it reboots after about 20 seconds every time it gets back to the rom. Why is it doing this?"
A: "You are on the old Gingerbread Firmware or not on an ICS firmware new enough. Either RUU your way to the latest leak or use a Gingerbread patch"
Q: "I downloaded the rom but want to make sure it downloaded properly before I attempt to flash it. Everyone keeps telling me to check my md5 but I'm not sure how to do it"
A: "Here is a link to the Free md5 checker/generator that I use: http://www.winmd5.com/. Use that to compare the string of code with that of what I have listed for the rom download. If you can not use this app, you can also view the md5 on your phone via a root browser like root explorer by checking the properties of the zip.
Q: "Which gapps are safe to flash on this rom?"
A: "I would suggest only flashing the latest ICS gapps for any of my roms. For AOSP specifically, I have an inverted gapps package listed in post 1"
Q: "Does "Google Now" work with this rom? If so, does the voice portion work also?"
A: "Yes google now works as does the Jelly Bean Voice Search."
Q: "I read that you included the Google Sound Search (Google Ears) app in your rom but I can't find it?"
A: "It is a widget. long press your homescreen, select widget, and you will find it"
Q: "I flashed your rom and my phone gets really hot after a while. In fact, Ive noticed it on all the newer roms lately. What could be causing it and how can I attempt to fix it?"
A: "Make sure you have updated your radio to the latest available. In fact, you should update to he latest firmware".
Q: "When I turn the wifi on, it gets stuck in the "turning on" mode but never comes on. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?"
A: "The kernel has most likely been installed incorrectly or you are missing the module located system/libs. Place that folder from the rom zip to that location and reboot"
Q: "Does this rom include an AD Blocker?"
A: "It does not as it interferes with some market apps that require it. You can however download several free ad blockers from the play store"
Q: "Do you have plans to add Aroma to your roms?"
A: "I may in the future yes"
Q: "Does Bluetooth work with this rom?"
A: "Yes althought for the moment, call quality may not be that great. It's still in development."
Q: "My gallery is not showing my pictures nor is my the Latin player showing my music. How do I fix this?"
A: "You just need to clear the cache on those apps and it will solve the problem"
Q: "I use the Navigation app all the time to get me from point A to point B but it is not in this rom nor can I find it in the market. How can I get it back?"
A: "The navigation app (Blue Chevron for the icon) is actually part of the Google Maps app. Re-Download Google Maps and you will have your Navigation app back"
Q: "I noticed on most roms anything I download goes to the internal memory under the downloads folder. How can I change this to where downloads will go to my sd card's download folder?"
A: "There is a way to do it although I'm unsure of how at the moment. However, if you can change the default downloads folder in tapatalk or the xda app to "Downloads" and anything downloaded through those apps will go to that folder on your sd card"
Q: "I noticed your tweaks force GPU rendering instead of hardware rendering. This conflicts with a few games I play and won't allow me to play them until I change it. If it's possible, where would I go to change that?"
A: "It is possible and is as easy as un-checking the option listed under system apps/developer options/Force GPU Rendering"
Q: "Everyone else is reporting amazing battery life but mine drains incredibly fast. What can I do to fix this?"
A: "Ensure that you are on the latest radio (1.22.10.0424r, 1.22.10.0424r) and firmware, and that you have no background apps that are using major resources constantly running. Also, make sure to tweak your screen properties/setting as the screen takes up a great deal of power. Live wallpapers and things like gps/wifi/bluetooth being left on can drain power fast."
Q: "Will there be any way to add switchable equilizers in your rom?"
A: "There is a modified DSP manager called Awesome Beats with a load of options to choose from!"
Q: "Every now and then when I toggle bluetooth, it will lock up and not turn on. How do I fix it?"
A: "Reboot"
Q: "What purposes does an i/o scheduler serve?"
A: "The following:"
Minimize hard disk seek latency.
Prioritize I/O requests from processes.
Allocate disk bandwidth for running processes.
Guarantee that certain requests will be served before a deadline.
***In short, the Kernel controls the disk access via using the I/O Scheduler.***
Q: "What goal does every I/O scheduler try to balance?"
A: "The following:"
Fairness (let every process have its share of the access to disk)
Performance (try to serve requests close to current disk head position first, because seeking there is fastest)
Real-time (guarantee that a request is serviced in a given time)
Q: "How do I determine what I/O Scheduler setting is best for me?"
A: "It depends on how you use your phone and what is most important to you. Refer to the chart below to customize your scheduler appropriately:
Noop
Inserts all the incoming I/O requests to a First In First Out queue and implements request merging. Best used with storage devices that do not depend on mechanical movement to access data (like flash drives). Advantage here is that flash drives do not require reordering of multiple I/O requests unlike in normal hard drives.
Advantages
Serves I/O requests with least number of cpu cycles. (Battery friendly)
Best for flash drives since there is no seeking penalty.
Good throughput on db systems.
Disadvantages
Reduction in number of cpu cycles used is proportional to drop in performance.
Deadline
Goal is to minimize I/O latency or starvation of a request. The same is achieved by round robin policy to be fair among multiple I/O requests. Five queues are aggressively used to reorder incoming requests.
Advantages
Nearly a real time scheduler.
Excels in reducing latency of any given single I/O.
Best scheduler for database access and queries.
Bandwidth requirement of a process - what percentage of CPU it needs, is easily calculated.
Like noop, a good scheduler for solid state/flash drives.
Disadvantages
When system is overloaded, set of processes that may miss deadline is largely unpredictable.
CFQ
Completely Fair Queuing scheduler maintains a scalable per-process I/O queue and attempts to distribute the available I/O bandwidth equally among all I/O requests. Each per-process queue contains synchronous requests from processes. Time slice allocated for each queue depends on the priority of the 'parent' process. V2 of CFQ has some fixes which solves process' i/o starvation and some small backward seeks in the hope of improving responsiveness.
Advantages
Considered to deliver a balanced i/o performance.
Easiest to tune.
Excels on multiprocessor systems.
Best database system performance after deadline.
Disadvantages
Some users report media scanning takes longest to complete using CFQ. This could be because of the property that since the bandwidth is equally distributed to all i/o operations during boot-up, media scanning is not given any special priority.
Jitter (worst-case-delay) exhibited can sometimes be high, because of the number of tasks competing for the disk.
SIO
Simple I/O scheduler aims to keep minimum overhead to achieve low latency to serve I/O requests. No priority quesues concepts, but only basic merging. Sio is a mix between noop & deadline. No reordering or sorting of requests.
Advantages
Simple, so reliable.
Minimized starvation of requests.
Disadvantages
Slow random-read speeds on flash drives, compared to other schedulers.
Sequential-read speeds on flash drives also not so good.
vr
Unlike other schedulers, synchronous and asynchronous requests are not treated separately, instead a deadline is imposed for fairness. The next request to be served is based on it's distance from last request.
Advantages
May be best for benchmarking because at the peak of it's 'form' VR performs best.
Disadvantages
Performance fluctuation results in below-average performance at times.
Least reliable/most unstable.

It's possible the video record may be due to an outdated kernel. Will test with Chad's latest non ion kernel this weekend to confirm suspicion

I know HD video is already in the bugs list, but confirming on youtube HD video playback wont work but same file and HD off works for anyone still hoping to use youtube.

*228 won't work on the AOSP roms.. At least, it's never worked for me. PRL should say unknown as well (for AOSP)

PA 4.4 BETA1
On this week’s dose of awesome sauce from PA Headquarters. We are proud to bring you Theme Engine, a stable Hover and a bunch of fixes. Hats off to CM, Clark Scheff, Andrew Mast and Sony mobile, for their work on Theme engine Truly outstanding work. Porting it to an AOSP base was a massive effort, lead by +Carlo Savignano. We tried to do it in a way so that it can be easily ported to other AOSP based ROMs for the benefit of the entire community. We are also proud to mark Hover stable, after many betas and three rewrites. We apologize for all the betas, but we really wanted to try to get this right, we encourage you to compare this build to beta 1, some major improvements have been made. The lessons learned here means more/quicker awesomeness in the future. With Google IO only a month away we are nearing the end of Kitkat, but that doesn't mean development is slowing down. Our team is comprised of numerous students and with school ending we are now doubling down on making PA awesome, we plan to finish strong and have a few Major projects to release that we have been working on internally for quite some time. Awesomeness is coming *
P.S. This is still 4.4.2. We have merged and are testing 4.4.3 internally but it was released too close to our release to allow enough time for adequate testing.*
P.S 2 Like the Themes shown off in the image below they were made by our own +Matt Flaming* and *+Lo Huot* and are available on the play store (PiazzA will be available soon). Show them some love.
General
- Translated into over 30 languages!
- Backported numerous fixes from AOSP master.
- Improved quicksettings.
- Removed lockscreen blur feature in favour of custom lockscreen background from*Theme Engine (it will come back as a component of theme engine in the future).
Theme Engine
- Bring full CM11 theme engine. (First AOSP based ROM!!)
- WARNING: Home button gets refreshed only after reboot or by force killing SystemUI *if you want to *a avoid reboot. Will be fixed in next build.
Hover
- Stable status!!
- Removed Jank (its a technical term)
- Fixed remaining bugs, including spam and invisible notifications.
- Fully working and improved inCallUi.
- Restored default swipe to dismiss behavior. An upcoming swipe up gesture will let you dismiss*hover as was replacing the old behavior.
Pie/Immersive
- Fixed immersive API Thanks for the developers who helped diagnose the issue
- Vastly improved triggering, and allow you to trigger from any area on the edge on tablets.
- Pie now rotates like the navBar (will appear on short edge).
- Enabled pie only on immersive mode enabled by quick settings tlie (not in app immersive).
- Fixed AOSP immersive bug issue where apps would register a touch when swiping statusBar*and/or navBar.
- Fixed numerous freezes.
WARNING: We recommend a clean flash this time due to massive changes

To God be the glory, my AOKP NOUGAT project finally works!
This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP. Now made out of Nougat! That's right, all of the AOKP stuff you love, plus LineageOS, plus a built in side bar, and more! All wrapped up into one! With tons of settings from status bar tweaks to button remaps, it's all here and ready to rumble!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
You must be on a 6.0.1 Bootloader with a 6.0.1 modem! I suggest if you are unsure, flash stock 6.0.1, then install this ROM!

Data Fix (For T-Mobile phones):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ment/ril-data-fixes-6-0-1-bootloader-t3546110
However, the T-Mobile variant already has it's very own version of this rom in the T-Mobile thread! I did test this however, and it works.
Be sure to follow these installation steps very carefully, as they may be different then what you are used to.
Installation instructions:
-Put your phone on the 6.0.1 Bootloader and Modem
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using Mickey's 3.0.0-0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
- If using the kernel, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash the AKLU kernel.
- If using another variant, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash a data zip.
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom. Please read the thread for further details.
What works :
Code:
+ Phone calls/receiving
+ Data 2g/3g/LTE
+ Bluetooth
+ WiFi
+ MTP
+ GPS/Glonass
+ S PEN
+ The WiFi hotspot does work with the AKLU kernel.
etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- The edge panel is not implemented at this time. The screen wraps around the edge.
But there is an app bar feature under ROM CONTROLS!
- The capacitive buttons work, but do not illuminate.
- The WiFi hotspot does not work with the stock kernel, but does with the AKLU kernel.
- Fingerprint sensor is really flaky. I got it to work once with fingerprint scanner tools to turn on the flashlight, but only once. Most times it will not register.
- I have not found any big errors, fault crashes, or problems yet. Please let me know if you find an issue!
This AOKP N ROM was built for the tbltexx, the International Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. You may need to edit the META-INF updater script to accomplish this. Note, this can flash directly to the T-Mobile variant, but the T-Mobile variant has it's own thread with this rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...evelopment/rom-aokp-nougat-built-bar-t3558263

All of my work is completely available for any who wish to use or modify it. I didn't make AOKP, the device trees, or vendor blobs. I simply used and edited existing material. A huge thanks should go to those who actually created this stuff.

Background image:
https://qlfiles.net/2017/01/07/upload-fractal-images/
The background images that I used in this ROM came from the Quiet Learner. You should check out his mathematical artwork, including 3D mandelbox images!
If the screen looks red-ish, check the settings->display->live display options, you may want to turn them off, it is a low light sensitive display option.
Data Zips: T-Mobile users with device model = unknown:
If you are using a N915T (like myself), the fix is very easy!
-Open /system/build.prop in any text editor
-Anywhere in the file, add this line:
Code:
ro.build.model=SM-N915T
Save and exit, then reboot your phone. You can check "about phone" under settings, you should see yourself as SM-N915T, and apps like XDA should report you as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Apps:
Swiftkey Keyboard - This keyboard can be set so the keyboard does not wrap around the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
Spen Command - This app cost a few dollars, but enables the Spen to be somewhat smart again, rather than just a pointer stick.

If you find something else that will help other users, please let me know by posting in the thread!

When u say built in sidebar what do u mean? And I would love to try it but I really want an overclocked kernel something like
2.9ghz or so with GPU overclocked to around 750-800. The reason being is that when I use the emotion kernel I get insane GPU scores, around 26,000 compared to the 19,000 range with the aokp kernel. If u could do that I would s**t my pants lol. I would do it but I can't seem to figure out how to build the kernel and since u upgraded to the new 6.0 bootloader does your kernel building guide got updates on that so I can at least give it a shot again?
Hi... this ROM is also compatible with the model Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular (SM-N915P, SM-N915V, SM-N915R4)?! Thanks!
come from rr 5.8

By side bar app, I do not mean the "edge" panel, but with the popularity of edge style phones, the AOKP has implemented a type of panel that when you tap the curved edge of the screen, a pop out drawer of your selected apps shows on the edge area.
Yes well, my kernel is a bit more on the conservative side. But, as always, I do encourage everyone to start building, it's really fun and rewarding.
As for the build instructions, they are the same, just with the new material, so I will not be updating them at this time.

Good question. In a word, no. However, another user in the data zip thread (referenced in op) successfully used the data zip to flash an international ROM to his us cellular phone. You can read more about it there.

By side bar app, I do not mean the "edge" panel, but with the popularity of edge style phones, the AOKP has implemented a type of panel that when you tap the curved edge of the screen, a pop out drawer of your selected apps shows on the edge area.
Yes well, my kernel is a bit more on the conservative side. But, as always, I do encourage everyone to start building, it's really fun and rewarding.
As for the build instructions, they are the same, just with the new material, so I will not be updating them at this time.

Hi... this ROM is also compatible with the model Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular (SM-N915P, SM-N915V, SM-N915R4)?! Thanks!

Good question. In a word, no. However, another user in the data zip thread (referenced in op) successfully used the data zip to flash an international ROM to his us cellular phone. You can read more about it there.

And thank you for the kind words. I build these for fun, but it is nice to know that they are appreciated!
I installed the ROM yesterday. I came from the European/German Version MM 6.0 N915FYXXU1DPE1_DBT. I followed the instructions on the first post and had no problems. I installed the AKLU-Kernel, too.
There's no edge and the fingerprint works bad. Finally I'm only working with a PIN. But the ROM is fast, stable, slim and it runs very smooth. I hope, that the development of this ROM goes on.
Next I try the implemented edge-feature and the hint for SPen-using by a third-party app. And perhaps I'll format the sd-card as internal storage. But for that I need a better card.
Thank you very much for this great work. :good:

So I can build using the guide and it will be the 6.0 kernel source? Or the 7.1 source?

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you like it. The edge is a Samsung propriety function that we cannot use.

Use the nougat source from my github to build the aklu kernel. I also recommend the 4.8 arm eabi toolchain.
When the lock screen wake up automatically to show a notification, the display is very dark. Is there a setting to change this?
Thank you
Apropos, the SPenCommand-app from post 1 is very good. Better than the original tool from Samsung itself.

I do not know for sure. You can try, but you may need to edit the updater-script.
Hope that helps!
Loaded up the TMO version and so far is running smooth with the exception of some weirdness around the back and recent apps hw buttons. They seem to be acting properly but are not lighting up. I went into ROM control and tried to adjust. Interestingly when I have the screen open for adjusting time on they do light up, but then go black again after closing the adjustment box. There is also no vibration when hitting those 2 buttons. Im not getting anything useful in the logs that I can see. I tried reflashing but no change in behavior. Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?
By the way, this rom supports substratum (oms).
I tested the inversion ui theme successfully.
I can confirm, that the lights don't go.
Is the battery drain better with the original kernel from the rom? The AKLU kernel is fast and hungry.

Yes, I also see that only the red led and yellow led are working for notifications. I'll take a look at that later as well. Thanks for the feed back!
As for the kernel, the cm kernel is something I don't use much, so I am not too sure how it is on battery.
I too had a battery drain issue, but when I agent to the battery stats I saw that the phone was waking up all the time. I then realized that my email app, blue mail, was not optimized, nor was my freelab messenger, once I optimized those, the battery life improved. I do agree though, it could be better.
As I am sure you know, your settings, like in kernel adiutor, will have a significant impact on your battery. The default settings are aggressive.

The sound setting could not be changed, it always f.c. Ringtone, notification are all preset.
Average Ram usage is about 2.8G to 3.4G. quite good and smooth.
ANX camera and Camera Go both are working fine. Probably this is the first ANX camera work on A11 for Begonia. Well done!

ANXcamera: Yes.
Most of the function works well, there are some still may not work like Portrait (F.C.).
64MP can be selected at "More".
Using AIDA64 to check, it is still 16 MP cam.
This 64 MP is probably done by software to increase from 16 MP to 64Mp, not a real 64MP.
Front cam is still problem, mostly probably need a hardware update to be released by Xiaomi.
HI, i recently installed this rom in my device and i must say it's the most stable and fast rom i've tasted so far. I've just had some trouble with the notification let not working and sometimes data signal goes from LTE to 3g without reason. Nevertheless keep up the good work. Thanx. Greetings from Colombia

Thanks for reporting this issues in next roms i hope to fix this.
I just have a problem with the cameras... When I flash this buffer fix in Magisk, all of the cameras crash or force close. I'm hoping to use trcamera because it's the most stable camera app I have used out of the others. I can still use trcamera in this ROM but without the buffer fix.
Edit: I hope the SafetyNet issues will be fixed too. SafetyNet fails even with MagiskHide being enabled. This might be fixed using the MagiskHideProps module.
Keep up the good work! This is the best looking ROM I tried so far.

Thank you creator. I've been daily driving this rom and so far so smooth. The Anxcamera is a good addition since other roms doesn't support it when flashed.
