Updating an unlocked T-mobile Note 3 with latest firmware.. Is it possible?? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Saw a very good deal on ebay india, the seller is selling an unlocked version Note - 3 T-mobile (US), so it can work on Indian GSM carriers.
Now, if you see the description: it mentions:
"The OS Software is Unlocked to Work with all GSM SIMS.
You are not supposed to Update the OS Software as Unlock code is applied to it"
2 quick questions:
1) Can you help me understand what does the seller mean here? The device will obviously be running on JB, so i wont be able to update it to the officially released Kitkat? Will manually flashing a firmware from say Sammobile, revert the unlock code and make the device useless?
2) Buying a US phone for Indian use.. Will i miss out on any features? or will it be a problem in any way??
Please help me out guys

[Q] Question: Installing other region/model Official ROMs

Hello. Very quick question I'm hoping someone might be able to answer definitively. I picked up a Galaxy Note 3 Neo today (model SM-N507) which is the Taiwanese version. It has only been updated to 4.3 whereas some other territories are on 4.4.X. My question is, would it be possible to flash one of the Official Firmware builds from Sammobile and NOT risk bricking the phone?
For example, in the event that the flashed build has different LTE bands, would a problem like this actually brick the phone, or would I (theoretically) be able to use it, just without LTE? I am willing to experiment so to speak, so long as it doesn't actually prevent me from using the device.
In the past I had purchased a Hong Kong Galaxy Tab 7.7 that wasn't updated to JellyBean and flashed a Malaysian Firmware without a hitch, but in said case the model numbers were the same. With this, I would be flashing SM-N505 or such.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy J8

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy J8 from Australia because I lost my phone there. When I came home to India I found out that the Australian J8 does not support VoLTE (Voice over LTE) but I need VoLTE for my Indian sim card to work. So I went to the Samsung service center but they straight away denied any support since I bought this in another country.
The Indian varient J8 supports VoLTE but the Australian one does not even when both the phones have the exact same hardware. So its a software limitation.
Can anyone suggest any method I can use to install any custom ROM that'll support VoLTE.
I'm willing to install anything, root my phone or whatever it takes since I'm never gonna get any warranty on this. So I might as well try everything else.

Just download Indian firmware from sammobile and flash via odin, that will contain latest modem for your device. It might bring VoLTE, because I think its software problem.

I tried but it won't let me install any other model firmware. My phone's Model Number is SM-J810Y but the phones available in India have model number SM-J810G. So it won't let me install the "G" firmware. I get a failed message.
Do you have any other suggestion?

H820 by the glorious AT&T - solutions for OTA when abroad ?

Hello,
I live in Switzerland and a few months ago I had the very bad idea to buy a second hand LG G5 sim-unlocked but tied to AT&T.
AT&T being AT&T, they don't release firmware updates (nougat, oreo or security patches) outside US ...
In order to bypass this "situation", I thought of 2 "new" solutions, BUT i NEED some advise and info by American citizens :
1) Buy a AT&T sim card that works abroad ... for updating a firmware which is 2gb ?
I really need someone to point me to the right "solution" in this case...
2) Buy a H850 "motherboard" to bypass the "h820" ?
Is this a solution ?
In other words, if I replace the h820 motherboard by a h850 one, will I be to upgrade my phone to Oreo and the latest security patches ?
Be kind, if you know the answer, just give me the info you have !
