[Q] Any sollutions for l5 II e460 security error? - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Unfortunately after an unsuccessful update I am getting "security error" after powering on my l5 e460. Only thing I can do is to go into the download mode. I tried both the online and offline methods to flash kdz but the result is same. Security error!! The drivers are installed and I do not get an error during the kdz flash but nothing changes. I also tried lgnpst lab tool but couldn't find the proper dll for lg l5 II. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you able to start your phone in emergency mode?
DLL is included in appropriate KDZ file. You can use LGExtract tool to get DLL out of that.

Hi dude the solution is update your phone with the LG support tool,

Yes I am able to start in download mode. I also extracted dll and bin file from kdz. But still no chance. The LGNPST tool doesn't recognize the dll file. I tried to register the dll file but couldn't manage. I tried msny kdz files via LG Support tool but the result is the same. Both the online and oflline flashing procedures couldn't manage to get rid of security error. Thanks for your help

Dude I have tried to update my phone many times via both online and offline procedures. the flashing procedures finish due to some interruptions such as reconnecting the phone again alerts. But at the and again and again security error! For instance when I flash a kdz for lg e460, the led light of the home button lights green or red when charging. But when I flash a kdz for lg e455 the led doesn't light. This means that the kdz is flashed successfully. Or at least something has changed inside the phone. But security error issue still remains. Might the reason be because of a hardware issue or recovery issue? By the way the phone is not rooted unfortunately. If it had benn rooted, I could have flashed the recovery or system.img. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for your help

Hi there, I have the same problem with my LG-E460. My phone got stuck on security error. I tried multiple times flashing a .kdz file via LG Mobile Support Tool, but during an installation process the app stop's responding the only thing I can do is to switch it off :/ Any ideas how to repair this soft-bricked device?

Try to recovery your phone by LG mobile support tool
1. Download LG mobile support tools from LG web site. http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-P769
2. Boot your phone to SW upload mode
3. Start LG mobile support tool.
4. Connect your phone with usb cable. LG mobile support should detect your phone model. If not please reinstall LG usb drivers.
5. In LG mobile support tools, select "Customer support" > "Recover phone"
4. New dialog popup ask for IMEI or S/N. Your IMEI should already fill in textbox just click first button.
5. Wait for LG flash program to load kdz from their server and flash your phone. It should work.
Just put on the Chinese android!!!
All that did was put on the chinese android i need a way to flash it

Step by step you find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36351786
You can also try to download again KDZ file, maybe file which you try to use is corrupted.

[SOLVED] Bypass LGsetupwizard!

I was wondering how to this.
I was flashing Killjoy's performance scripts (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411161). After flashing the file and choosing to reboot, for dumb reasons I chose to disable recovery flash when it asked to reboot. Now, when I go to LG setup, once I'm done, I get the message that "lg setup wizard has stopper working" and loops me back to the start of the setup. Please help!:crying:
I know L9 is virtually unbrickable. I just need to be pointed in the right direction and I know I can bring it back!
Edit: Issue resolved!
Did you by any chance uninstall it using titanium backup or similar? Try to get a logcat.

I guess he can't use none of the applications as he is stuck in the wizard. Try reflasing a stock ROM using kdz: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344

Yea, this is the case. Can't get out of it. I really don't know how in the world did it uninstall itself. I didn't use Titanium Backup at all. After flashing the killjoy zip file, I chose to reboot. I then got a warning:
"ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? THIS CAN'T BE UNDONE" I then get 3 options to chose from: "No", "Yes - Disable recovery flash, "++Go Back++
I chose yes, and then all went haywire. Is there a way I can determine my phone's connection type via computer? I tried flashing V20D using the KDZ offline method, but it won't progress. It says "Phone not connected." Last I recall, I left the connection on media sync (MTP, I think it's its acronym). Since I'm on JB, I know it needs to be in LG Software Mode.
I have faced this issue too, even if I entered into SW Upgrade mode manually, KDZ did not detect my phone :/
However, I had success using the official LG updater software (connected my phone in SW upgrade mode).

Was your phone recognized by your computer? Because mine isn't. Think you can tell me more or less the steps you took to make it work?
Here's what I've tried so far:
1. downloaded most updated LG drivers
2. downloaded official LG mobile support tool
3. ran it, no effect.
4. downloaded LG pc suite, based on troubleshooting.
5. tried lg mobile support tool again, no good. Said connect PC to internet (???)
6. tried LG mobile support tool from shtttps from offline flash method, no good.
7. Put phone on SW upgrade mode (removed battery, volume up, put battery back in) and retried offline flash method again, halts at 15%. Says that phone isn't connected. It was set on DIAG since it's JB software.
8. Tried recovery update, but phone isn't recognized even if I put IMEI number in.
Thanks!

[Q] soft brick after downgrading to v10g

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help. I originally was attempting to root my phone following this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277639. I was able to use the software update tool several times to flash to V20B and V20D. After a few tries, I read on the authors forum to flash to v10g as I was having some issues (got the CWM L9 Recovery tool installed, and after booting to it, got stuck on encrypting). So I flashed down to v10g. After that, phone wouldn't boot. So have attempted to use the upgrade tool to flash back to V20D or B and have tried following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344. Even though I can get the S/W Upgrade screen, the software upgrade tool keeps stopping at 15% and tells me the cellphone is not connected. Even though I had gotten it to work before at this same method, I re-installed the drivers and even tried the whole process on a 2nd computer with no luck. I'm guessing the downgrade to v10g is the cause of the issues I'm having, but do not have any idea at this point how to fix it. I have spent hours searching the forums, but have not found a solution yet, so any help or links to posts that could help would be appreciated.
I have the P769.
And if you happen to know why I get stuck on encrypting after using and rebooting from L9 recovery tool, that would be an added bonus. (found it, looks like it was busybox x, will try when I get phone back up).
I have tried on computer running Win 7 64 bit and Win 8 64 bit.
Thanks!

I followed your directions. It seems like we have made progress but am still having issues. It did install some updated drivers, and with the online LG support Tool, seems to find the connection, but stops due to an error at 15%. I also noticed that the screen goes black on my phone and S/W upgrade is no longer displayed. Don't know if there is a timeout were it does this or it is shutting off because of the update process and not coming back on.

I do not see that option. Let me confirm that we are running the B2CAppSetup (LG Mobile Support Tool) and not the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin (R&D Test Tool) program at this point.
Nvm, it looks like with the update, even running the R&D Test Tool, it takes you to the LG Mobile Support tool which will crash if you have it blocked. Same results when not blocked, stops at 15%.

Still stops at 15%. I have also tried running fastboot. I get about halfway, but when it comes to the part to reconnect to the phone, it just hangs.
Well, using fastboot, I have got the LG tool to now progress past the analysis part and get to the actual update part, but now stops at 15% there. Progress, but am at a loss at what to try at this point.
To sum up, phone will not boot at this point. Can get to S/W upgrade mode on phone. Phone stops at 15% at update portion.
I have tried the offline and online update methods, along with fastboot (get through the entire steps on the computer, but at end screen shows LG logo with fastboot in corner, don't know if this is normal).
I have tried a few more solutions to no success. Luckily, my phone was still under warranty with T-Mobile for about 2 weeks, so sent it in since it wouldn't turn on (unless you did S/W upgrade mode). Hopefully, they wont notice why. Thank you for your suggestions Bojo.

Then try the method from the link I gave. When u use offline method you 'force' LG mobile support tool to flash kdz file of your choice - it is enough that LG MST sees any phone it can flash - it cannot check online (through IMEI I suppose) phone details.
So first download the stock .kdz of your choice,
In case of program I used and linked, you
- change two files in LG MST on your computer,
- open R&D Test tool
- select kdz file you downloaded
- press 'normal web upgrade test' button, leaving the rest as default
- wait for LG MST which opens and starts the flashing with kdz file you choosed before
Thus it is no point to let LG MST to check your phone in that method.
Before I tried it, the phone, with 'security error' message was not recognized by the PC or LG MST, even in s/w mode.

SOFT BRICKED - Help! Need .dll file for LG G2 Mini D618

Hi, first of all i think my issues had already been solved
but for other LG smartphones, not D618.
My problem occurred when I playing around with hidden menu, and I hit reset button on the FOTA menu,
and then my phone restart and stuck in a screen that I never seen before, the screen show three line of text:
● FOTAFS_Open/cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 0, No such file
● FOTAFS_Create/cache/fota/log/FSUA_LOG_000.txt, 66, No such file
● FOTAFS_Close 0
So I googled about that and I found on a Vietnamese forum that it can be fix using LG FlashTool. But the problem is the tool need a correct .dll file for each device and I can't find anywhere the exact .dll file for LG G2 Mini D618. So if anyone could provide me the file I will be very thankful coz my phone been dead for 1 day.
I already tried flashing the kdz file, but no luck.
I tried to sideload stock recovery via adb but adb didn't detect my device.
Please help me solving this

i got same error too at the first flash. i think the firmware is corrupted. retry to download the firmware,i hope you can successfully flashing the firmware
Now my phone turn back on to normal, I finally took it to the LG service center, and they replaced my motherboard.
So if any of you guys experienced the same, I'm telling you there's no software solution to fix this, it seems because I rooted the phone and somehow it lock the motherboard when it trying to perfomed a FOTA update.
