First off, this was clearly copy and pasted... Why does it say "Please unlock the bootloader of the SCH-I545, respectively". The word "respectively" would be used if there was multiple things being asked for, with different details to each... saying respectively lets you know that the list of details was given in the same order as the list of things those details apply to.
Secondly, who is "We" in the "We wouldn't want this device to be retired due to the fact that the people are not fully satisfied with it in its current state"? Because Samsung DEFINITELY wants you to retire you S4 and buy an S5...
Thirdly, that sounds vaguely like your trying to come off threatening... is that really the intent?

If you want to watch thats fine.... but Its an Android Development community. You reposting ridiculous online petitions is certainly not bettering the community and honestly if I can do even a little to keep us from being represented by that piece of **** I will have done a great service.
If I were an executive, and got a letter/petition written like that, I'd just dismiss it as coming from someone having a hard time keeping up in middle school (and who's parents were actually paying for their phone). Seriously, that petition is a waste of time and effort.

I think the other threads died for a reason. It's a futile effort.
I'm pretty sure that I read recently that the Department of Defense just approved the Knox security system. What's that mean? Samsung can potentially sell millions of phones to the government, who is not interested in phones that can be hacked. Now, consider the hacking community. A couple of thousand potential hackers. Which do you think Samsung is more likely to pay attention to?

root will come, same thing happened with the Rezound, htcdev worked at first (unofficially) then months later it was back officially.
same will happen with this phone IMO, AND S-OFF is being worked on already, the Rez took 6 months before S-OFF had interest

I fire up my computer and i see that some little kid or kids rated this thread real low and I'm trying to figure out why, so if you guys don't want me to dev for this device just let me know... Don't be afraid to speak up that goes for the the devs to... If you my being here bugs you that bad I'm all ears and if so ill be gone... And if it was not anyone from here that did it thats fine also I just don't want to waste my time here if im not wanted

I dont even have a DINC or Verizon in this matter, however, every place has trolls. You can't ever get rid of them. It's up to you if you want to dev or not. Nobody is forcing you. I like the smaller communities since you can get to know people and make more connections. I'm trying to find a way to "crack" HTCDev's method for unlock_code tokens. I want to do this to learn and to have fun. People will bash me, even though they are idiots. I just report them to a mod and the mod will handle it and keep them in check. Overall, do what you gotta do.

I wouldn't pay much attention to it. I don't read threads because they have a high rating. I read them because they have an interest to me. If anyone is able to send you a dev phone I very much doubt the rating will scare them away. Besides, your rep as a good dev means a great deal more.

I agree. I have never and will never rate a thread. Either it applies to you or it doesn't. If I have a problem with what's going on in the thread, I'll address it with the problem poster.
It looks like whoever did it don't want to speak up anyways so problem solved ill just wait for root and work on one of my other devices...

I don't even own this phone, I'm still on a Dinc, however I just voted the thread 5 stars, does it impact the difference of you dev for this phone or getting a used phone to dev on, it probably won't or shouldn't. I also sent the email, about the bootloader, and I spoke with VZ exceutive office about the locked bootloader, is that going to make a difference to VZ on unlocking it, probably not, but I did it for the group cause, because I would like to get this phone.
Honestly, it's guys that have the time and talent like yourself and other dev's that help make these phones what they are, if you aren't interested in this device, that's your decision too but I think 99.9% of us don't have the knowledge you do on these phones, so we greatly value your work, and would like to see you and others help us out, while we try to do what we can to help out.
I don't know what happened to the REZ forum, but I've heard it was a bunch of BS Drama, that I've never seen on the Dinc forum, maybe your burnt from that experience, don't know, but I wouldn't let a thread vote sway your opinion on this group here.
thankfully newt has an Inc4 and will be up and going once root comes.
Some people are so unappreciated of the hard work done by devs that it amazes me. If I had root on my phone, I'd gladly switch. I've enjoyed your work in the past, newt, and I look forward to the amazing things you'll be able to do with this phone once it's rooted.

I agree. I've been here for 4 years or so, and up until this thread never bothered to notice the threads had ratings. Now that I am aware of the ratings, I will continue to ignore them.
I hope you get a dev phone so we can get the show on the road. I'm still trying to find patterns and see if i can "crack" the generator/algorithm HTC uses. It'll be hard and time consuming.

Soo 3 week ago I got a text message saying I was being billed for a device wich I need to send in..It was for a galaxy s3 they said they never recieved..I called the rep ...they located the device with my tracking number and said they would credit the account...2 weeks later the charge is still on my bill for $799..So I call again spoke to a rep for about a hour ...she got to the bottom of it and said it was absolutly verizons mistake the charge will be off in 24 hrs...well three days later its still there..I called immediatlty asked for a supervisor..got to one and after immediate review of the notes of the account she says she irs taking care of this right know it will take 24hrs to reflect on the account..I took her full name and rep id...3 days later wich is today the charge for $799 is still on my bill...I immediatlty filed a B.B.B. complaint angainst verizon At 9:30 this morning .the complant containted all the info, tracking number of the device I returned, and also the reps and supervisors I spoke to names and ID numbers.....Now at 5:00 pm today (same day) I get a call from a rep of the presidents of verizons office...no ****..He said He reviewed my claim sent in from the BBB and was very sorry for how I was treated..He himself issued the credit..and admitted it should have been handle the first time that they said theyd credit me.....also admitted it was verizons mistake..and gave me an extra 100 credit on top of that.....so moral of the story..if you have a problem you cant get resolved..call the BBB they take a complaint very serious.....and get issused resolved

For the most part, if I didn't include the Tapatalk signature, you'd never know I was posting from my phone. People need to stop being so lazy and actually use proper punctuation and such when using their phone or tablet. Hell, you could use voice typing to do a better job with punctuation than what is in the OP, how much lazier can you get than posting without typing? All you do is make it hard for everyone to read what is there, especially if you're reading a paragraph that long on a phone with poor punctuation.

I was enjoying the N2 section of this forum as it seemed like a higher caliber group than some of the other sections. I assumed it was because there were more adult business type folks using the N2. Apparently I was wrong. But then again, I think I saw a thread here for donations for the guy so he could get a N2 and develope for it. You'd think he'd be busy developing.

I say, take a little pride in how you speak. People will judge you by it in this world and anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.
Grammar doesn't have to be perfect, but you also don't have to use a 500-word run-on sentence.
If you know poor grammar, slang, capitals, etc. bothers people and you keep doing it...that tells me that you have no respect for others.

With the bounty of almost $4,000 (last time I checked) you would think that someone/recognized dev or team, would step up to this bounty of unlocking the bootloader on the Verizon variant of the S4. Even since the ME7 update, (mid July?), I am surprised! I thought I would put in my 2 cents of the topic. There is a website called change.org, which is an online petition website. I'm sure some of you have heard it.
Anyways, I saw a petition of the LG 4X. A guy made up a petition to unlock the boot loader. Soon enough, the amount of required signatures was reached, and LG came out with an update and BAM. Verizon won't change their stance. That's why they attempt to please us by offering developer edition devices. That LG device you referenced to was a GSM unlocked device. It wasn't tied to any carrier specifically and therefore LG could directly appease those demanding change. Verizon offers the explanation in this article in regards to why it's locked and it's probably the same response you'll get. just my 2cents

I will confirm I do have my hands on. A fully unlocked firmware for Verizon. I can not confirm it works yet. Due to not having the device in front of me. Once I confirm it. I will post a whole write up on that.. With links..

Because unlike you, I don't start threads with attention seeking topics that never come to fruition. I could care less if I'm labeled on XDA as a "recognized elite developer" or whatever it is or have some stupid, big thanks meter. Those things are worthless to me. What matters most is getting good, clean, easy-to-install workarounds to the foolish measure Verizon forces on the manufacturers out to the general public. You want credit, you'll get FULL CREDIT as the source. You have my word.

I recently heard that some rooting methods aren't all that great for rooting phones for e.g: when I rooted my s3 people constantly had a hard time hearing me speak when on the phone that being said what is the BEST root method?

That would have nothing to do with it as far as I know. Root away.
The two most talked about here at XDA are CF-autoroot, and the kingo method.
Apparently the kingo allows to to potentially root w/o tripping the knox warranty counter. Which may or may not effect your Sprint warr. (but as soon as you install a custom recovery, it'll trip the knox.)
The other is the CF-autoroot, which trips the knox. Which may, or may not effect your Sprint warr.
The CF method was made and is maintained by our very own dev-extraordinaire Chainfire. Verified gold standard of rooting here on XDA. I recommend it.
Low call volume may be related to a rom you flash, but never "caused by rooting".

No it's not. Mine works great with Knox tripped. Don't know how you go from rooting then to tripping Knox causing problems. Don't root then.

Knox being triggered has no functional affect on the user experience. If you have to get your phone at Sprint it MAY be an issue but from my experience those guys are so dumb they won't realize and if they do realize they probably have their personal phones rooted and don't GAS
