[Q] Reverse charging cable?

Hey guys, just got a Mate 2, and i can't find the reverse charging cable in my country. From what i understand i can't use any normal male micro usb to male micro usb cable, it is a special "one way" one. Do you know any "compatible" one from another device, or the schematics to build one on my own?
On second thought, would it work, using a male usb to male micro usb adaptor with a OTG cable?
You can order it directly from Huawei which is what I did cheap works well and have used it on my s3 with the zero lemon 7500 mah battery to charge other devices as well.
Yes an otg cable will work.

Yup, just tried it.
Thank you guys, i got an OTG cable and the adapter, and i tested it as soon as i got back home, it works just fine :good:

USB-C cable connection

Hi guys,
i have ordered P9000 so still waiting for that. But i have a question. Does anyone know, if USB-C is connected really like USB 3.1 standard or only like 16 yo standard USB2.0? Because i wanna buy cable USB 3.1 M -> USB-C so if it will use all "range" for data and charging like USB 3.1 is specified.
Don't think it's USB3.1 be surprised for that price point. Be good to know as well though! Also I'd just buy a USB3.1 cable it's not like it'll be incompatible they're all backwards compatible.
Someone have found a good quality USB C 3.1 cable on the internet ?

Make sure u enable it in settings... Even a rs. 50 Otg works
I tried few but none of them worked..also I enabled otg in settings.
I tried 10 more usb c adapters but none of them work.
I tried Usb c to usb? Does usb C to usb will work Or do I need to get usb c to micro usb?
I've tested a few and I can tell that no ordinary otg type C adapter works with OnePlus 2. The one which works is either the xiaomi type C adapter or the original OnePlus type C adapter. Xiaomi doesn't sell that adapter in india as far as i know but u can get it from sites like ebay, aliexpress etc but I personally don't trust these sites. So I decided to go with the original OnePlus type C adapter for about ₹250 from Amazon.in. Here's the link below:
OnePlus 2 USB Type-C Adapter -- Original https://www.amazon.in/dp/B01LW1I27J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CyFKybGT6RB5E
The seller was Eoneplus. There are other similar products on amazon claiming Original oneplus type C adapter from different sellers but i can't comment anything about them as I just tested this one and it worked for me.
I hope this helps!!

USB-C HDMI Support?

Does devices has USB-C HDMI support like S8, LG G5?
up!
Doesn't seem to work on my first attempt. Reason I was ditching my Moto Z as it didn't work on that. Always worked fine on my LG G5 and on pre USB C Samsungs. At least it does have miracast though Moto didn't even have that.
Tried again after updates, still no joy after system update 47.1.A.8.49
The screen does seem to detect an HDMI input but it's black and the phone doesn't mention it.

XZ1 does NOT support MHL and DisplayPort-over-USB-C HDMI adapters. They won’t work on the device. That means you’ll have to use a wireless method ( e.g Miracast or Chromecast) to connect to your TV
Hi,
A Reddit user has successfully tested one method to display content via HDMI
Thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/9futz7/displaying_content_via_hdmi_on_xz_xz1
Anyone have any feedback on this method ?

The missing link is the keyword "DisplayLink"! A "DisplayPort alt mode" USB-C to HDMI cable would be cheaper and smaler, but this DisplayLink dongle does the job, too! :good:
"WAVLINK UG-3501H" (DisplayLink certified dl-3500 chipset) + USB-A to USB-C adapter/cable
After installing the app "DisplayLink Presenter" and a reboot, the picture was shown via HDMI.
I tested the this device with these smartphones:
1. Sony XZ1 (USB 3.1)
2. ZTE Axon 7 Mini (USB 2.0, like the XZ1 Compact)
Hello, and thank you SGH-i200 for this tip, but I'm not sure to understand, why this item you propose is suppose to work better than other USB adaptator ?
I'm needing to be chanrging my Xz1 while plugged to a screen and a Bluetooth keyboard, it seems that this item is not giving option to charge my phone at the same time, how to find any adaptator that is "displaylink" ? I've made hours of research now, and still don't get anything..
Thank you !

Maybe you can try to use a USB type C docking station which supports DisplayLink. eBay and Amazon are full of DisplayLink adapters and docking stations.
In order to use a hub, you need a kernel that allows to active USB host mode and charging at the same time! Only same custom kernels allow this combination.

Thanks,
I buy it from ebay, tested today
WAVLINK UG-3501H + Ugreen type-c to usb + Sony XZ1 + Monitor 1080P = video + audio (I can't check resolution)
But,
For Sony = WAVLINK UG-3501H == 26-39$
For Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ Plus / Macbook/huawei mate10 P20 (pro) = USB-C Type-C to HDMI == 6-18$

Trying to replace a Lenovo USB-C HUB C112 that is not recognized by my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact
Do you know if any DisplayLink mini hubs would be compatible too ?
Does anyone has tested Vantec SB 3.0 Universal Mini Docking Station Adapter with HDMI/DVI (DSH-M100U3) with Xperia XZ1 (Compact)?
Also, I read this : "...It appears that some Android devices do not go into USB host mode..."
Could it be what happen with my Lenovo USB-C HUB C112 ?
Regards

Did you check what is shown in a USB diagnostic app like this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aws.apps.usbDeviceEnumerator
