I'm a new guy here so if this needs to be directed somewhere else please let me know.
I have an AT&T HTC One M7 and it is apparently not receiving updates. I am still on 4.3 and my phone never received the update to 4.4.2 back in February when it released in the US. Now that Sense 6 is officially out I haven't received that yet either but it just came out yesterday. When I go to AT&T Software Update it immediately says there's no updates available and will check again in 48 hours. I've tried the trick of changing the date on my phone which didn't work either. I spoke with AT&T and they claim they have no way to push the update to my phone and that I should get it replaced. I chose not to because I had HTC fix the camera sensor(pink hue issue) and the phone is now rock solid. I've been searching on this forum on how to update my phone using the OTA update because I like the stock firmware with Sense and want to keep it but it's information overload here. Threads with over 100 pages of replies with no real clear walkthroughs. Does anyone know how to somehow force the update to show up on my phone? If not, can someone direct me to where I can download the OTA update?
Any help would be appreciated.
Never mind! Figured out it was my Sim card. Put my wife's card in and it downloaded immediately.

My wife's is doing the same thing, except the SIM card swap didn't work either. I tried to load it through stock recovery, but that didn't work either. AT&T doesn't have any answers, and I've reset the phone three times with no success. It did the same thing with 4.4, but I figured it was a system wide issue due to others not being able to receive it.

I downloaded the mirror in the first link and rebooted in recovery, only for the red exclamation to show up. Will this work with a stock phone?

Their both the right link
one updates 3.17.502.3 to 4.18.502.7
and the other Sense 6 updates 4.18.502.7 to 5.12.502.2
OTA Does not wipe the phone ... did you do any reading at all or are you just winging it ?

Does anyone have a good downlink for RUU 4.03.605.2? I have searched everywhere to find one. The androidpolice site seems to be down as I get a javascript error when I try to download from there and none of the mirrors work. I tried to download from the dropbox link posted in a different topic but it was corrupted everytime I downloaded. I s-off'd as soon as I could and I haven't updated anything since except changed roms and want to update to the newest update and then go back to my current rom which is viper 1.0.3. Thanks for any help. Once I find the link I just need to flash the ruu twice, factory reset, flash jbear hboot, recovery and rom of my choice is that correct?
I distributed it as a torrent file within a few hours of Android Police posting it. Apparently uTorrent isn't very popular in these forums.
If we had a hundred seeders it would be the fastest way to download the RUU file.

I tried that one about 8 times yesterday and it never worked so I tried it again and I get the same error as yesterday "{"INFO":"failed posted hashcheck","SOLUTION":"please make sure you have javascript enabled for androidfilehost.com. Hit the back button, enable javascript and try again please. we promise we are probably not doing anything nefarious. maybe. no promises though."}" My javascript is already enabled and I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit w/windows explorer 9. I downloaded that bit torrent but it says it is corrupt and it took 4 hours to download.
Edit: I just tried it on Windows XP with explorer 8 and got the same error message.

Try the download from your phone. I had the same invalid folder message when downloading it from a PC. Once I did it from my phone, the download worked.

Thanks, I actually just tried that and it downloaded about 10x faster but I had the same error message. I verified the MD5 and then used a zip file repair to recover it and it worked. I just flashed it twice but it did fail on MDM_CUST, TPZ and Radio Cust2 and then I did a factory reset. It just rebooted and appears to be working correctly.
Shipped-roms.com, has it.....downloads fast. Vigor section.

Thanks. there servers appear to be down. I'll try them again later. My phone appears to be working but the last update had 3 things fail on the update so I will probably redo it once I find a good download think. Thanks again.
EDIT: I got the same corrupt error message from shipped-roms as I did from Androidpolice on both my phone and computer. It got me thinking and it ended up being my winzip program was saying it was corrupt when it wasn't. I changed to 7zip and the error message went away and I just reflashed my phone and it went perfect without any errors. Thanks for the all the help.

how can i use this process. my phone says S-on and its stuck in a bootloop. is there a tool i can use with S-on? i downloaded the android police but my phone isn't being reconginize by my computer. what can i do. i've turned off my phone and hit the power button a few times while the battery was out. that didn't work. i took out the sd card and did it again. that didn't work. right now my phone also says tampered and relocked but i can't get it off the white screen. i did a factory reset and that didn't work i rebooted the bootloader and that didn't work. im totally lost now..

I would love to help but its been so long since I messed around with the Ruu I don't remember what to do (hey that rhymed) but I would ask someone int the Q&A sections they may be able to help you better than I.

haha. yea that was pretty funny. i did post it in the Q & A but no hits. it has almost 70 views but no one is bitting. i don't know if im giving too much info or not the right info. could you take a look at it and let me know if its something i could add or be more specific. i would have thought by now someone would have it figured out.

yes im on S-on and yes i followed the instructions and now my phone is stuck. im trying to install the original vzw stock using ph98.img. its stuck in the hboot screen and i can't get it out. and my phone pc isn't recognizing my computer. my problem started when i used hasoon2000 all in one tool kit and locked my bootloader. now i can't get off this white hboot screen. the only opitions i have is fastboot, recovery, factory reset, clear storage ,simlock, image crc..
any suggestions
you may need to get a card reader so put the ph98.img back on the sd not in any files and install it in fastboot again twice
Hey people.
I rooted my ANDROID HTC ONE from T mobile, using a guide I found on here and the all in one toolkit.
I am using TWRP newest 2.5.0.0, I can access the bootloader and recovery, and have been sat here now looking for answers for about 5 hours.
It freezes on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.
Also says that there is no OS installed.
I am looking for help via TEAMVIEWER, or someway to get my phone working.
If you need more information please let me now ASAP so I can give it you.
UPDATE: Okay people I successfully installed the XenonHD ROM and it is now stuck in bootloop i have tried clearing the cache and it doesn't do anything, this is the only ROM that is currently working.
I have searched the net searched the post and still nothing.
I am almost got my phone back guys and am willing to DONATE or repay the favour via modding something through XBOX or whatever I can.
Please contact me soon as possible.
I am still on TEAMVIEWER.
Changed my recovery to ClockWorkMod Touch.

There have been a lot of posts on similar issues. You can "sideload" a ROM via ADB commands from your computer. If you can get into recovery, your phone can be fixed. I haven't done this myself (still stock), but do a search on google or xda on sideloading a ROM from ADB.

Already tried sideloading, said it was complete successfully on the phone and on the computer, never worked still says no OS installed.

Did you clear the cache? Also, I've seen some people have to format the partitions.
EDIT: But formatting does not seem to be needed if you sideloaded successfully.

Tried all that, Any chance you could try helping VIA teamviewer, you now more about it than me I think i could of done it in wrong order or use a bad ROM or KERNAL..

Sorry, I've not even rooted my phone, and I would not want to use your device as a learning tool. Let me look around and see if I can find a nandroid backup.
EDIT: Nope, I don't see one. Try opening a thread requesting a nandroid back for your recovery.

Still looking for help guys. Really need my phone up and running, I got a job to run.
UPDATE: Installed XENONHD ROM and it has got passed the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen and moved onto their load up screen.
BUT, then resets backs to the HTC load up screen then back to there's.
Any more help is appreciated and am willing to donate to them for getting my phone back online.

I think i will be able to help you, am at work atm but when i get home around 6:30 pm est i will teamviewer with you to try to get you back on track.

You have to be careful with No o.s installed .
Normally if u reboot when u see that you'll brick.
Without a o.s you have no bootloader..
I bricked my s3 and had to jtag it when it said no o.s I rebooted and black blank screen nothing.
I've had this happen also when choosing format system and format data /media some reason it botches the boot up .
My only fix was to sideload a rom or wipe factory and restore a nandroid .

No i got a ROM working, the XenonHD.

So going to check again inabit.
After all that did you try erasing cache one more time? Maybe through recovery or fastboot?

my recomendation is that you get s -off and supercid asap so next time you run into a similar problem you can just install any ruu(note only do this if your phone has no official ruu) and work it out from there.

What ROM did you flash? It should say if it was rooted (most are).

What you need to do is this exactly .
Dload a rom on pc reboot recovery on phone first .IMORTANT FIRST FORMAT SYSTEM.
Then when that's done choose factory reset.
Rename the rom to Rom.zip or anything you want but make sure it says.zip
Sometimes sideload won't work if roms not renamed , that's mentioned in another thread about sideloading.
Then sideload the rom
Let it load and install .
When it reboots itl take a while .
I just did this to my HTC one the other day after I got stuck after formating data media .

Yeah my phone is currently working now, but I have no play store nor do I now if my phone is rooted.

Just currently trying to get to grips on how to work it and that.
I can't download the playstore because it says it is currently installed but it is nowhere to be seen.
I've unlocked my bootloader, rooted and installed CWM custom recovery. Not surprisingly the Sense 6 update will download but it won't install. I tried to flash it manually with CWM but that won't work either. Again, no surprise.
Is there a workaround that I can use to install the Sense 6 update?

Yes, you need the stock recovery not custom recovery to install the ota plus stock rom installed.

Ok, I flashed stock recovery and the update looked like it was going to install but it failed about a third of the way through and gave me a red triangle. I rebooted and fortunately the phone is still working. I tried installing the update a second time with the same result. Any ideas?

You have to have a pure stock rom. You may have to nandroid a stock or RUU but you have to decide that, but it have to be stock not root or any system file edits. Sorry, missed the bootloader need to be locked.

My rom is stock (Telstra Australia) but I've installed a few Xposed mods. If I do a factory reset I'm assuming that will take the rom back to stock. If I then remove root and relock the bootloader will I then be ok to flash the Sense 6 update?
Mate, I'm having same issue, Telstra Australia.
Check out his thread. I think you need to save three files that get wiped when you unlock bootloader. The update looks for them. I'm still trying to get it to work.

I got sick of dicking around with it and decided to try to get S-off which I'd been having trouble achieving with Hboot 2.49. Yeah it does look pretty slick. Wasn't sure about the large icons through. I watched a review on youtube. Looked a little strange...

Not sure what you are referring to there. I didn't see anything overly large. Was that on the stock launcher? I'm using Apex.
When the OTA update fails and you get the red triangle, have you tried holding the vol up button then pushing the power button?
This should take you to stock recovery and you can see why the update failed...
Might give you a point to work from.

No I didn't do that. I'm on a custom recovery and custom rom now though.
I'm all back to stock with the three files saved. Just waiting for the OTA update to download now.

I haven't had a really good look at it but I don't like the fact that you have to tap a button before you choose video. On the old app both camera and video were one tap away. Now if you aren't in video already it's 2 taps.

I ended up getting this to work....
When you save the three files that are missing with a root file manager, you have to save them to \data\preload NOT system\data\preload
Worked a treat after I did this:good:
How did you get firewater to work?
I keep getting a kernel error. It says that my kernel has a anti firewater patch. Very frustrating i just want to be able to lock my bootloader so my finger print scanner works properly again.

That's interesting what you say about the 3 files. Now I know why it wouldn't work for me. Regarding Firewater I just followed the instructions in the link I posted earlier.
I've actually reverted to a Nandroid of my stock Sense 5.5 rom. I like it better than Sense 6.
Hi guys DEVs and NOOBs. Here's the issue: Son's unlockecd phone started restarting by itself. 2 weeks ago he said he looked at it and it was in safe mode. Since then it was restarting. Now it's asking for decrypt password. Never put one on so I don't know what it is. Phone is running Mikey's MeanBean (who no longer supports this) and is S-Offed. I've done all kind of restarts (hot, normal, boot loader) and it starts up normally but when it comes to the screen unlock BOOM...Decrypt password. And it restarts in airplane mode. The only thing I can do when doing screen unlock is make emer. calls. I'm hoping that I don't have to completely wipe the phone (but copied files on SD just in case). HELP!!!
I would suggest running an RUU. Possibly the latest that will update you to android 4.3 and sense 5. It will wipe internal storage so back up if you can.

For info how to install the RUU, click the top link in my sig and scroll down to the section on RUU's.
I've downloaded the RUU file to my pc but there weren't any instructions on how to install. What are the next steps? It's my first time having to do this in like forever and I don't want to brick the phone.
I have TWRP. Could I take the phone back to stock from there and then just download Sense 5?

So I've managed to relock the bootloader thanks to QbKing77. However, I need to proceed with throwing on the RUU given to me but QbKing77 suggests that downloading the HTC drivers. The link on his website for the drivers is dead. Does anyone else know where I can get them?
Just install HTC Sync.

Got the 7.0 update. But now I can not install themes from the Samsung theme store. Is anyone else having the same problume?

Just upgraded. I was hoping the volume control would be fixed in this version of Android but it is just as dumb as the last one. Volume buttons only adjust ringtone but not notifications. Media volume gets turned down with headphone or Bluetooth connect. To turn up the volume I have to click OK, WTF... I have been blasted with loud music when numerous times in my car when switching sourves because the volume on the phone is lowered automatically.

QA6 IS the same version we had a week or so ago. Same revision number. QA4 was the one before that and the one you may be referring too but we got QA6 beforehand also. If you have QA6 ready to go, it's the same thing.
Is there any reason for a phone not to get the upgrade. Everyone around me as gotten the upgrade but my phone still says software is up to date.

A little more info about your phone would make it easier for people to help you. What firmware are you on, have you froze any apps in the past, are they still frozen, have you rooted, if yes then what method did you use to unroot.

Never rooted. I have disabled a few of the att/stock apps I will go enable them again.

Yea i would reenable them since APK1 is the latest firmware not APG1. At least it is in the S7 flat. You have the edge it looks like.
I enabled all apps and set my date ahead to check again still says I am on the latest.

Find the APK1 firmware for the edge and use Odin to flash it (will erase data on phone), wait 24 hours ad check again. Or download the nougat QA6 file and sideload it (also will erase data on phone) . That's what i suggest. Or after you reenabled the apps you can reboot your phone into recovery and wipe cache.
I downgraded to PK1 and bam! On QA6 via OTA. This also resolved the issue with AMEX not registering on Sammy Pay.

QA6 went on mine fine with PK1 on my phone. I used QA6 on a new SD Card method, so was only thing on SD card when I booted phone into Recovery to install QA6 from the SD card.

Did you use the mega link that was posted by dirtydodge? His works the other mega link didn't work for me I had the same issues you had until I download the one dirtydodge posted. I'm thinking that the other mega link is corrupted.
