[APP] S5 Toolbox Addon - Go beyond the 5-App Limit - Galaxy S 5 Themes and Apps

Hello Friends,
I would like to share my new app for the Galaxy S5 called S5 Toolbox Addon whose function basically is to allow you to add more apps to the S5 Toolbox tray beyond the 5-app limit imposed by Samsung's stock rom. Although you can add more apps, there is a limit to what can fit the screen so just add only what fits the screen which at stock dpi is about 12 apps. At lower dpi, you can add more. NO ROOT NEEDED.
The download below is the basic version which only does what is described above. No more, no less. But if you are feeling happy and would like to support my work, then the one on the Play Store allows you to create custom toolbox lists (as many as you want) and switch between them on the fly. It includes a quick toolbox switching feature to allow you to easily switch between toolbox lists on the fly depending on your workflow.

This is top stuff. Big thanks donation in post

The great thing is that this works without root, and directly enhances the default Samsung Toolbox.
It can still be simply accessed via the default Toolbox toggle.

Thank you somuch for such mod

Hi. Fantastic app! Just have bought it!
My ROM allready supported more than 5 apps in the list but creating custom list and switching between them is worth every cent of the app!

This is dope man thanks! !

Edit
I am getting force reboots wen I turn on it in landscape mode

Wanted and am very desperate

Is there any way to get galaxy S3 sms/mms themes and/or background for the galaxy note one, sgh-i717? All i could find is themes for S3 by GO launcher in the market. I do not want to add any go launcher to my phone i just want the sms/mms set up just like the Samsung Galaxy S3, actually identical to it.
Also, is there any way to port the whole Samsung galaxy S3 Rom to the original note SGH-I717? I don't understand why there isn't one yet! especially after Att let all their galaxy note one customers down when they promised the multiview/air view feature with the new jellybean update from them that came out on 05/3/2013, along with lot's of other features they promised to add that were also S3 features, such as direct, call, pop-up video, s-note during a call, buddy list just to name a few.
This si a complete list of features we were suppose to get as promised but as it turned out, was a big smack in the face from AT&T. It definitely changed the way i feel about them as well as the rest of the customers that had signed a petition against them to push this update in a revised release son. I just don't see it happening either way, so if there is a way to get the S3 Rom ported over to the Galaxy note sgh-i717 as well as to include these features if Rom does not have already.included.
Features are as follows:
Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- Multi-View (Multi Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II
- Multi-View can also be disabled
- Page Buddy
- Notification Panel can now be customized
- New Additions in Notification Panel
- Smart Rotation (Screen Display adjusts to your angle of sightings)
- Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard (Like Swipe or Android 4.2 Keyboard)
- Samsung’s Cloud services
- Features like Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
- New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now
Whatever someone could do to include if not all, most of these features. If there is already a S3 Rom that has already been ported over for the sgh-i717 if someone can let me know where i can find it? or send me a link i would greatly appreciate it as well as anything one can do.
Will even settle for the Samsung Galaxy SII ported Rom, I meant to include it in here as well. I like it just as much, either or would be perfect as long as its one or the other.
Right now, i am mostly interested in the complete setup, identical to that of the S3 for the SMS/MMs texting setup as well as Galaxy SIII ringtones, and Galaxy SIII wallpapers.
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me. I will even donate if necessary to see this happen!

As for the SMS/MMs is this what you are looking for? It has the black background, the S3 icon and is very similar to my friends S3. This was extracted from the Telus Jelly Bean. Just push it to system/app using Root Explorer and set permissions correctly

If using ES Explorer then long press the file to select and press the menu key. Select Properties. Inside then select change.
This solution was posted in another thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42145268
1. Back up your MMS.apk in system/apps
2. Copy and paste downloaded MMS.apk in system/apps
3. Set permissions rw-r-r
4. Reboot and enjoy.

Works on BLOWNFUSE's AOKP 4.2.2
As for a smart stay equivalent, there are a few available in the play store, but I just use the quick toggle STAYAWAKE that's in his ROM.

thanks man, i ended up using "ROMcustomizer" it just asked where i wanted to install it, i chose "system apps". rebooted and everything works

[MOD] [GUIDE] 320 DPI Guide with recommended system app settings.

Change Pixel Density for Galaxy Note 3 and Recommended DPI Settings for System Apps.
Requires Root!
Works on any Rom!
With the Note 3 Packing a 1920x1080 resolution, the first thing I did when I got the phone was work on taking advantage of the real estate the screen has to offer. Many of the Pixel density settings from the Note 2 work on the Note 3, but keep in mind the formula changed with the new screen size and resolution change. I'm just going to call it "Preferred DPI" as most will agree, its a comfortable viewing option.
The easiest way I have found is to change the overall layout from 480 to 320, then going in and tweaking some individual apps.
Overall most of the apps will function as normal, however some system apps will not look right, especially the Dialer and Camera/Gallery views.
Note 2:
Factory DPI: 320
Preferred DPI: 240
Note 3
Factory DPI: 480
Preferred DPI: 320
To change all apps and programs to be viewed in 320 mode is to modify the build.prop settings.
There are multiple ways to do this, but the easiest I have found is to download Rom Toolbox. The Lite version will allow you to easily edit the app. Support your devs, buy pro or donate and give credit to these app & rom creators.
Rom Toolbox Lite Rom Toolbox Pro
Step 1: Changing phone pixel density from 480 to 320
Open Rom Toolbox
Go to the Performance Tab
Select the build.prop Editor
Click the Magnifying Glass to search
Type in "Density"
Click on the ro.sf.lcd_density
Change the Property Value from 480 to 320
Click YES on reboot prompt
Step 2: Download and Install Xposed Framework and App Settings Module
Without rewriting guides that are already available, you can read the general guides here on how to install Xposed Framework.
Guide by Max from High on Android
Download Xposed Framework by Xda Developer rovo89
Download Xposed App Settings Module by rovo89 & Tunstwenty
You will need to install Xposed Framework, and the Xposed App Settings Module by clicking on the above threads. The threads are maintained and updated regularly. Xposed has the ability to update itself, and also provides updates to the modules, which is a great feature.
Once these are installed you can then begin to change apps back to 480 DPI if they don't look right.
Step 3:Recommended Apps to Revert to Stock Density
You can change any app you wish, but the ones that I recommend to keep at stock DPI mainly due to cropping issues are the dialer, contacts, camera, and gallery.
I am currently running Jellybombed Rom, so you may see some extra apps in screenshots, as well as blue text.
I also ran this on the stock rooted Samsung Rom, and the Rooted Deodexed rom before going to Jellybomb.
These are my personal preferences, and im sure I have more than I need selected, but I wanted to make sure all elements worked.
Camera for example has many sub apps such as editing and trimming.
Contacts has 4 tabs for Phone, Groups, Favorites, Contacts
Phone has 4 tabs for Keypad, Logs, Favorites, Contacts.
Bolded are the most essential, the non bolded are personal preference. Feel free to add your own.

This is so necessary for the note 3. Thanks for the post!!
Awesome job.
Any clue what app the pen input app is? The one you activate by clicking the pen square over inputs?
It looks like it follows the app's dpi, but wondering if that can be pegged at 480 for every app?
320 feels a tinge too small. Any idea what other settings could be used easily that aren't so small?
I just went in and changed a bunch to make it better. Thanks for the suggestion.
Do you know which is the lockscreen?
Any idea what program the sview case window is under?

It's not a particular program, from what I've read you would have to leave the system at 480 and individually change apps to 320 to keep the S View Window working properly :\

Im going back to stock deodexed this weekend to test out some things.
I had some issues with editing pictures ( mainly getting the redeye tool to work with pinch to zoom) so Im going to go back to "as close to stock" as possible to rule out any theme/app settings from Jellybombed.
Ill try to play with the factory apps a bit to get a better list.
Im one of those .. "as soon as i get a phone I root, change dpi, then freeze or remove every system app with "samsung" or "sprint" on it.. and this time around its knox to add to the list.
Then again thats what I done with hundreds of computers for the last 15 or so years, so the habit kind of carries on =)
Not a fan of bloatware =)

I would love to see more screenshots. I had rooted and went to 240dpi on my original note, and love the way that looks. Still on the fence with rooting my note 3. Haven't read enough about knox, even though I know there are ways to root without tripping knox now. But I m itching to change my dpi
Thanks for the guide. I put mine at 370 dpi, which looks good for me, without being too tiny

anyone tried changing DPI to "Android System" and "System UI"? I had this changed on my Note 2 (to 240) so that the settings and overall UI was smaller. I tried changing it on the Note 3 to different DPI to test out but it seem sto leave a small border right under the status bar. I tried 320, 350, 370, 400 .. I'm using Nova Launcher btw. (JellyBombed ROM)

Try checking all 3 of these settings to 480
com.android.providers.telephony
com.sec.phone

You can set them manually to 480 (stock)
If you set your overall DPI to something like 370 you need to make those apps bigger individually to 480

I use a scaleable launcher ( ADW EX) for that reason.
In the past when I tried to modify the stock launcher or system UI, it would cause all kinds of force closes..
The primary reasons i believe is due to how Touchwiz integrates its widgets- like clock for example
Changing just systemUI or Launcher but not changing all the other components manually that are linked to it can trigger "Unfortunately System UI Has stopped Working" errors.
The keyboard is another one thats tied in, as well as the lockscreen.
I haven't gotten around to trying to do all of that, or learning how to yet.. which is why i made the guide with the already available apps.
By changing the overall system UI and using a different launcher, you can have the smaller slim status bar, without having everything else break, since all of the DPIs match. Then finding different processes to tweak with "App Settings" allows you to experiment safely without risking breaking everything.
One super annoying issue i had back when I did DPI tweaking on my Note 2 was if you didnt flash a replacement keyboard in recovery, you would have to setup android by continously tapping the error message all the way through phone setup until you could get to the settings screen to change the samsung keyboard to a different one. Samsung's keyboard dosen't like dpi changes on the note 2. But so far no issues personally with the note 3.

[APP]Note 4 Hidden Settings - Air Gestures and Air View with Fingers

Quick Note:
a. This Application is for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which may also be used on Samsung Galaxy S5.
b. Don't express your hate for ADs in reviews. It's only way of developer's earnings. You can deactivate ADs within the app but it will be nice of you not to.
c. Please Do Post Reviews and help us build this app according to your need.
So, Samsung decided to hide some key features in Galaxy Note 4 and we don't why. But that should not be stopping you from using those awesome features as those are hidden not deleted or something.
Air Gestures: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has pretty all the sensors that Samsung Galaxy S5 had. So, why not use those. Quick Glance does not work because of a missing apk in Note 4. Will be fixed in next Update
Air View: You can use your SPen for Air View but what happens when you are not using SPen. You use your finger for that purpose. (buggy)
Smart Scroll: Doesn't seems to work but work in progress (buggy)
Samsung Keyboard Handwriting Setting: Edit the way you write and the way for Note 4 detects your writing
LockScreen Clock Style: Miss Your Lockscreen where you can Signature as your personal message. You have that back
Edit Personal Message: What's the use of personal message when you can't edit it.
More Content: Mont Blanc and Other

QuickGlance Workaround:
Download the provided attachment.
You need have CWM, Philz or TWRP recovery. if you don't have then flash it first.
Move the downloaded zip to your sdcard
In recovery, install the zip and reboot
Now you have QuickGlance on Note 4

It's normal to somethings don't work ? Like, the air view with finger doesn't work at all... the air gestures works just on e-mail and gallery, never on stock browser... smartscroll too, doesn't worked at all...
This can be related to my device ? i have the N910C version... thanks so much, great app, the options for lockscreen and keyboard it's awesome ;D
Air view with finger does not work. I am on a custom rom; may that be the problem? Another issue is to do with the pen colour. I selected the pen colour red. The pen wrote in red, but when the text has been recognized it turned to blue.
Air view finger hover messed up in latest built.
Earlier I have enabled this option on my ROM and working fine but with MK3 it causing lag and unresponsive touch on dialer, My files etc applications. Samsung might have removed codes in new built.
air gesture > air browser> music player and music on lockscreen do not work
air gesture > air browser> Air Jump do not work
Quick info works with GlaceView.apk taken from note3
Update is possible or too difficult to build ?
Thanks

[APP][Xposed] Force 3 dots menu

Hi!
This is a very simple module: it forces all apps to use the 3 dots menu. I've created this because on CyanogenMod, for some reason, when i remap my menu button not all apps use the 3 dots menu. Some apps, like Titanium Backup, don't show any button at all, so i can't use the menu.
This module force that apps to show always the 3 dots menu, or a button to access it (Titanium shows an entire 'MENU' button).
No interface, just install and activate it.
Download link: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.robertogl.yesmenubutton
Source: https://github.com/robertoglxda/Force-3-dots-menu
Tested on Cyanogen 5.1.1.
Changelog:
18/08/2015
V1.0
- Initial release
P.S. This is not a problem of all devices, so use this only if you need it.
P.S.2 I've looked inside MenuBeGone for this code (another Xposed module). Thanks to @adi1133 for that!
Just a quick suggestion for future development: you could work on adding a simple interface and let users toggle between force 3 dots and hide it
Either way keep up your good work with Xposed modules :highfive:

Well, thanks
I don't know if that is possible: I mean, if you want to disable the 3 dots you can disable the module, but the hook I've done is performed during the boot (at least, I think) of the phone, so an option like that won't work with a system turned on. A possibility is to create a list of app for which the users want the 3 dots menu, but I don't have time to look at it at the moment...

What I meant was to let users choose if they want 3 dots always on (like it's now) or always off, both on a system wide basis
It could be a fair module improvement for its future if you'll have time, just my two cents
(I'm just speculating, no clue about what's possible, not really into Xposed development [emoji14] :angel

This would be easy, but the same result can be achieved disabling the module from Xposed Installer. I really appreciate the suggestions, but for now i think i'll keep the module as it is. Less code, less problems
Also, it is not useful to enable a module that does nothing. It would not be a problem, but it would not be nice
Update first post with github's link with source.
Not working
Unfortunately it doesn't work an a Sony Xperia Z3 dual (D6633) running Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons
(also Xposed module which I use to do nothing else but to switch the back and recent apps-buttons.
Back moved to the right side, recent apps the other way.
No idea why.
Stockrom (rooted) 4.4.4

Have you tried disabling NavBar buttons module?

This module is interesting to me because I'm a Nexus Player user. As discussed in other threads such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/help/3-dots-menu-t3067105 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...sed-supports-android-5-0-x86-devices-t3146150, Google removed the 3-dots menu from Android TV devices as of Android v5.1 and higher. It is a very frustrating change that adversely affects multiple apps and your kind of module is what I was hoping to see as a possible solution. I just installed and enabled your module, then rebooted the device but I'm disappointed to report that this module does not yet restore the 3-dots menu on apps that are installed on the Nexus Player. Some examples of affected apps are AdAway, Xposed Installed and ZArchiver. The Xposed log does not indicate any errors with your module but I'd be happy to do any testing that may be needed to get this module working on the Nexus Player. I cannot overstate how helpful it would be if you could restore this critical feature to many apps that are limited in functionality by Android v5.1 and higher on Android TV devices.
Nope, because that isn't an option anyway.
I mean, I prefer NavBar over this. So probably it's a NavBar failure.

It's not an option, but the method this module hooks is here from android 4.x (maybe also 2.3), and it is the same on 5.x, so it should work. I don't know what NavBar does, so I can't say that there isn't an incompatibility. Or maybe Sony has changed a lot that...

Hello, Roberto, and thanks for the reply. I did inquire about this matter with the developer of GravityBox, @C3C076, not too long ago. What he suggested was for me to try the "force overflow menu button" option found in his app's miscellaneous tweaks menu. It did not work, unfortunately, but he did state that the feature was carried over from Android 4.x and was not tested on Lollipop. I don't know if you happen to live in a country where the Nexus Player is sold but if you require the hardware in order to develop for it, this STB can be purchased for less than $100 USD at a retailer such as Walmart.

I can see from your XDA profile that you live in Italy. Nexus Player should also be available in that country according to http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...nd-italy-norway-spain-sweden-and-switzerland/. I wish you the best of luck in solving this problem and am ready to help with any testing which you may require.
Just tried (uninstall NavBar). Than your app works.
Unfortunately I prefer NavBar over this handy add-on, so I will deinstall it.
But if definitely works an a Z3!
Sorry,didn't mean to be rude!

Well, this modules work on similar things, so an incompatibility is expected. I don't think I can't make it compatible, sorry...
Maybe you can play with NavBar options and see if something change.

Could you people post here the Xposed log with my module active?

Here's a screenshot which contains a recent Xposed log from my Nexus Player. The reason why I cannot copy-and-paste the text is because the 3 dot menu which provides the "Save to SD card" option is missing.

Could you please try the apk attached? Also, post the Xposed log after installing this.
Okay, I installed the test1 version and rebooted my Nexus Player. The 3 dot menu is still not restored but there's a lengthy Xposed log this time. There's currently no way of saving the log file as a document or copying-and-pasting the text inside of it so I had to take screenshots of the entire log (page by page) which required 49 screenshots in total. If you extract the contents of the two zip files in to one directory, you'll see that the PNG files are named in sequence with their date and time stamps. I hope this helps.

Well, thanks and sorry for that, i didn't imagine something like that. If this happens again, check the errors before doing such number of screenshot: they are always the same. So, try this. It seems that Google change something on Nexus Player...

[Xposed][MOD][5.0+] Multiple users return

A module for Xposed which returns the ability to add multiple users.
For example, Lenovo has removed the ability to add multiple users for cheap of tablets. I wrote a module that returned this ability.

I have animation at my device. Why you don't have animation i don't know (or i understood you not right ). Any way this mod will change only parameters "max users" and "enable multiuser ui".
THX, for the wonderful script.
Works perfect on Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F

One more request for the quick-settings-icon from me: Lenovo Tab2 A10-70L.
Multi-User basically works fine, but there is no easy way for switching users from the lookscreen. Any hints are welcome.
Unbelievable lenovo kicked this icon out ...
One more request from me for easy switching users. Please.

If you don't have icon for switch user i don't understand why you can't have it. I don't solve it without device with this problem, but all my devices with icon for switch users.
Thx for quick reply. I have Lenovo Tab2 A10-70L - each time I have to go setting->users. No way for switching users from lockscreen ;(
Someone solved the icon problemen?
Installing the apk doesn't change anything with my brand new Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F. There isn't a menu people coming under settings.

Check to module is enabled in xposed installer. And Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F don't have icon for switch users (i don't know why) but menu must works.
The apk is installed but I can't open the app. So I can't check the module. Or where do I find the module? People under settings/device does not exist as well.

Hi, is this module only for lenovo?
I need multiple users on Asus Zenpad 10 z300cx.
Could you help me?
last step failed.....(s5 sm-g900fd duos, android 6.01)
I succeed in all steps before (rooting, twrp, xposed framework v85, etc.).
xprivacy with xposed and root is working , the module "com.anton111111.xposed.multiusers_v1_82c990.apk" is installed and activated
I see "Benutzer" (User) and the guests icon - yeah!
BUT: , it did not work:
I am owner and in the very last step of creating a second userprofile the samsung service crashes. I can see the new user after restart, but I have to do the initial setting routine again and again => and always at the end : CRASH , samsung setup service crashes.
It so weired because I did everything (rooting and so on) to have THIS multiple user function.
Any idea to get this module and function work?
Maybe it is better working with the old android 5?
