[Q] lost buttery smoothness after updating to 4.2.1 - Micromax A116

I m using stock 4.2.1 on a116. Fps reading on mutlitasking window, scrolling images, zooming in/ out and in the stock launcher is restricted to less than 65 which is not so very smooth ( at times its 50~ too). So i used tsf shell where fps readings on home scrolling and other launcher related activities reaches 78, but yet on the above mentioned activities it still laggy. Can i bring back the buttery smooth experience to the entire phone?

[Q] GPU rendering/Rosie Scroll

The major thing I look at with roms is the smoothness of the rosie scroll. A lot of roms are perfect but I can't stand the laggy/slow scrolling. I noticed that even if there's a smooth/ultra smooth rosie option on some of these roms, it is still slow, but on other roms like Prime XL, it's smooth as butter ( I don't use prime because of all the random reboots). Is this because some ROMs don't have GPU rendering? If that's the case, how would I go about enabling it or forcing it?
Find a Rom that has it check the build.prop copy it (it should be labeled) past it into your build.prop if you can't do it I can do it for ya
Sent from my mom's Nexus S 4G..... It's True lol
Nevermind, I found the build.prop. debug.sf.hw = 1 enables GPU rendering right? Is that it?
I'd be willing to bet that a tweak such as forced gpu rendering would maybe make the scrolling smoother, but I can't imagine it being more stable or safe than without.

Jerky scrolling

I notice jerky scrolling in the apps. If i swipe vertically slow over the display, the scrolling is jerky. Because of the high resolution I expect a smooth scrolling. I've done the latest update for the XPERIA S.
Who has bad scrolling too?
Same here i trink they will fix this with the ics update or the next minor update nothing to worry about the Hardware is more than strong enough. It will be smooth as butter with 2d & UI acceleration i guess
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Hopefully!
I get jerky scrolling as well, I have the Xperia Sola. It must be something in the Sony operating system itself because I get the jumps even with other launchers...
mine is smooth as but im using apex launcher with GPU rendering turned on
apex launcher is the smoothest ive ever seen tbh not even trebuchet is that good.
Another vote for Apex here, don't even need hardware acceleration on.
I wonder why some people have issues like this and launcher redraws and some don't?

[Q] Choppy webbrowser scrolling.

Hi!
I have problems with the webbrowsing experience as it is
very sluggish, choppy when scrolling. This is in all webbrowsers
except Dolphin Beta (!?)..
The UI is super smooth and benchmarks and games is fluid and fast.
Also, pinch-zoom is totally smooth.
The phone is absolutely great in all areas but this stuttery, choppy scroll.
Recognize this?
Any thoughts, hints and solutions would be great!
Greetings, Daniel.

Scrolling: Android vs IOS

What do you think about Scrolling on Android?
I copy and paste that interesting post from here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co..._source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=post_body
My question Is: It's possible, to tweak scrolling values? When yes, how could you modify it on Android?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Original Post:
...I am generally very happy with Android's scrolling. I like medium to fast scrolling on Android more than iOS (iOS limits the speed to let things load and keep things smooth), it feels more responsive and when you flick it, you get the speed you expect.
But when it comes to slow scrolling (this is when you're focused and are looking for something) iOS has a small tweak that makes it very satisfying to scroll. And this tweak is with the inertia. On iOS, when you make a small flick, the screen keeps scrolling, it creates a feeling of whatever you're scrolling is "on ice" or like a cube of butter on a smooth hot pan, it keeps moving. This produces a very nice effect. On Android on the other hand, when you make a small flick, the screen stops immediately like there is too much friction underneath. It does not feel as "airy" and "slippery".
I've made a comparison video to highlight the difference:

It would be awesome if Google tweaked slow scrolling to be more like iOS and left fast scrolling as it is. I think it would create a better experience.

Chrome scrolling lag

Hi, I have a problem with scrolling long pages in Chrome (or any other Chromium bases browser) I've read about similar issues some time ago, but didn't find a solution.
I have Android 11 Pixel Experience custom rom and already tried these (with no effect)
- Set Window animation scale to OFF
- Set Transition animation scale to OFF
- Set Animator duration scale to 1x
- Increased pointer speed
Is there anything I can do about that? Any help will be appreciated
I have experienced this lag since long. My primary browser is Kiwi but I also use Chrome and Samsung Browser. The lag is especially noticeable in image heavy webpages like Amazon or news websites where the FPS can drop to below 50. Otherwise it's mostly in the 54-58 range and is reasonably smooth. Soul Browser is consistently the smoothest in my experience but I need extensions support so Kiwi it is. Changing the CPU and GPU governor to performance has no effect. I have exclusively used crDroid so far. I have heard CAF-based ROMs can be smoother...
