How to redirect a web link - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All, I would like your help thinking what is the best way to redirect a browser link to another, let me explain:
If the user is trying to browse to:
http://SPECIFIC_WEBSITE/SpecificPage.aspx?type=3&id=4451714
I would like to redirect the mobile to (with the same id):
http://SPECIFIC_WEBSITE/DifferentPage.aspx?id=4451714
There is a common website that I use all the time, and most of the links are like the first one, than it shows annoying ads, after you close the ad, it will redirect to the second one... I would like to skip it.
how can I do it? I thought about using adaway, but i think it uses DNS level, which doesn't help me.
local proxy maybe? some kind of script in the kernel?
any idea?
Thanks,
AYahoo.

Accessing Office Online

So I've been trying to find a way to edit and create my OneNote docs online.
One solution seems to be going to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ and basically accessing your Skydrive-stored files from that site. Theoretically you can create and edit--and in tests it was easy to locate my cloud-stored files via this site.
Unfortunately, every time I actually try to edit or create, my browser simply hangs. I've tried this in Dolphin browser so far.
I'm wondering if this is Microsoft simply blocking its use? I'm trying to relocate the option in Dolphin to view a webpage as if you're not on a mobile phone and see if that helps. The other possibility is simply that the phone can't handle the operation I'm trying to do (this seems likely--it usually hangs after opening an existing document...I can sort of edit it, but when I try to actually input the change the browser just freezes...)
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to help me try to make this work, I"m all ears!
Thanks in advance.

[Q] can someone help me with making this app?

hi i subscribed to a site that gives premium access to many file hosting sites by setting up their dns and logging in their web page... this works flawlessly on the pc but on android well it consumes a little of ram to have many tabs open and you have to open it everytime you want to download something so the question is is there a way to make an app where you put your login data and the app automatically logs in the website everytime you connect to the internet? (wifi/3g)
if yes can someone help me making it or can someone (best option beacuse i don't know a single thing about programming ) make this app for me nad the rest of android users that would like this service on their phone? thanks in advice and sorry for my english

Any one help?

Hello All,
Can any one help me to download GlobalEnglish Lingo app. from android market and upload it or send to me, because I can't download any app from market google block me due to my location.
Thanks
Nothing.... Please help....
learn to proxy, and download apk's via your browser, and install manually on your phone.
Thanks, but can you tell me how to do this?
No obne Help.....
you could use other apps similar to this. im sure there are hundreds of them. even you've installed this, still, your country will be recognized.
how to proxy.
open browser.
go to google
type in 'socks 5 proxy <country here>'
assuming you're using windows, go to the options/settings bit for your browser, find the bit that references proxy, or 'internet settings/properties'
click on 'lan settings'
where it says 'proxy server'
check the box 'use a proxy server for your LAN'
ip goes in the first box, port goes in the second.
most sites will seperate the two when displaying proxies as you hunt for them
if they don't, it'll bein the format iport, eg 173.24.57.158:3450
sorry it took a while to reply, had forgotten about the thread.
but as long as the proxy you're using is located in a country that isn't blocked on the market, you should then be able to download apks via your browser to install manually, without having to resort to filehosting downloads.
make google as your friend; and google will do the rest for you....

[Q] adownloader-security-data file question?

I'm currently using adownloader for non-copyright infringement torrents. I'm looking to block my ip address because i like being secure (that's why i have a firewall on my phone)
in the app settings->security->Data file refers to use iblocklist.com for details. I'm confused whether i put a web address from one of iblocklist.com numerous links or to actually put a downloaded file in there. if someone could help me out i'd appreciate!
Thanks!

I can only suggest as I am not able to test an OpenVPN connection:
Have you tried OpenVPN Installer and OpenVPN Settings apps (both from Friedrich Schäuffelhut) from the Market?
Maybe that apps can help you to install and configure your OpenVPN connection correctly.
Good luck and report back !
Hi,
thanks for the advice, but those are the programs I am currently using. I installed it with the openvpn installer. And to connect I have to use the settings app.
After I am connected I can browse the internet. But still can't use any apps like mentioned above..
Not getting an idea what the problem could be. Those apps somehow don't get the permission to use the internet or something..

Try using CatLog from the market. After installation run your E-Mail client and check for new mail (that does not work as you said). Look at the saved log file from CatLog to get some more information about what's wrong.
Although you say browsing works it might be a problem with the default route or a DNS problem. If you are not used to the console you can install LanDroid from the market. It will allow you to ping and trace route any host. This again might give you (and us ) more information about what is going wrong.

hey there thanks for this very informative post! I tried to download catlog, but the market says it is incompatible with my device... I downloaded a similar app. Didn't have much time to test it, but what I could read out of it in brief amount of time was, that while connecting to facebook there is a kind of xmpp error or something and mostly timeouts. There must be a kind of blockage somewhere... I'll try it again tomorrow and give your further information. I'll try out the other app, which you recommended too and let you know!
thank you loads for the support!
