[Q] Charging Port? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, my S2's charging port is broken, I ordered new usb port for it. I got the usb port, I disassembled the phone and noticed it is impossible to change, so I ordered Dock Connector Charging Port Flex Cable Ribbon.
How can I change it?
Is it hard to do?
Can I easily break something else?
It looks like this :

Sorry for horribly written thread, I'm writing this from my phone.

Fairly easy to do & you're halfway there assuming you've ordered the correct part. KeithRoss39 has a guide in General (not stickied; search for 'replacing USB charger board') which has all the info you need to get it done, and he's the expert on these things here.

Certainly makes more sense than the tree that hangs off the bottom now. Not sure I want to build a new plug though... good find!

Have you seen this article using that adaptor? http://www.webnetta.com/2008/12/27/hack-connects-t-mobile-g1-to-ipod-dock/
I would love to take advantage of all those iPod only accessories out there.
I talked to the PodGizmo guys and they are planning a series of boards for the G1 connector, a breakout like the ipod podbreakout one and a usb host one.

bought one on ebay, but power doesn't work with my GN3 ... but work with an Galaxy S1 ... what is the problem ? anyone get one working ?
Maybe the problem is that since the note2/s3 Samsung changed a lot of stuff to an 11 pin connector as for the s1/s2 it's a 5 pin. As for a normal otg cable, it works for me at least (I have one w/o a charging cable)
Sent from my SM-N9005 beast of a phone.

[Q] USB Port - bad solder, or just needs a clean?

I've inherited an S3 with a broken USB port. It used to work intermittently, but has now stopped working altogether. I've added a wireless charging thing, so it's usable.
I had a quick look inside today, to see if there was anything obviously wrong.

I'm not sure if those two soldered connections on the end look a bit dodgy, so I thought I'd ask on here if it looks like I'm going to need to reflow it, or if you think the connection looks fine and just needs a good clean?
Obviously, I don't want to start soldering things if it's unnecessary.
Thanks!

Few more additions to my car set up

Well as some of you guys have seen from my previous thread, I added a RAM mount to my wind shield:

I've added a few more things you guys might be interested in.

I went with that charging cord because the side going to the tablet angles back so you don't really see the cord aside from the plug. The other side where it plugs into the car charger is reversible so you can plug it in any way you want. No more having to look at it before you plug it in. And the reason I bought the car charger is because it has both the 1A and 2.4A plug.

Unbricking MediaTek MT6580 By shorting KCOLO pin to GND

Hello, I did the worst thing possible on one of my devices which was formatting all + flashing a wrong firmware and a bad preloader. Therefore my phone isnt even recognized when i plug it in.
I wanted to try wiring GND to the KCOLO pin cause it supposedly forces a usb connection and therefore I could reflash my phone. However, not all pins on my phone's motherboard are labeled. I took a screenshot, can anyone tell me where I should connect GND to? I cant find the KCOLO pin.
