I am in the planning stages of creating a social experiment. I am trying to see if it is feasible to develop an app for android to accompany participants using the parameters below. Nothing is set in stone. More could be added as options become available. If you care to know more, just ask. If you can help, that would be a plus.
Android app parameters:
Google Maps Api for proximity alerts to allow a participants to know when a clue is near and for an on-screen visual aid.
Ability to communicate with other app holders whether through text or speech
Integration with G+ - to publicly post what they have found
Ability to track other players real time (ability to disable public player tracking.)
Ability to create a profile to be shared via NFC
Minimize the need for a server to cache information
Minimize graphics
Utilize NFC to collect necessary information at physical locations.
The ability to edit data on a bracelet with an NFC chip embedded within.
The ability to track actions and locations(only when at game designated public locations)
Not sure if I want to embed information in the app or retrieve it on a server. (Information will change on a regular basis.)

Am familiar with Google map and some other mapping apps. What I'm looking for is something similar that keeps routing notes of business locations. A client provides a product for area retail outlets. Need app that allows notes to be kept for multiple locations where can click on a map, click on business location pinned on map, and be able to edit note/spreadsheet for that location. App would be able to track when last visited a location, items delivered, etc. by doing a quick search and also be able to print. Sometimes these areas don't have access to the Internet so being able to use offline map with notes would be a big plus. Is there an existing map app that has such capability?

I am writing to update you with regards to your enquiry about the Faraday App. I have been in touch with our developers and they have informed me that although this is a long list it is quite common with Android. They are currently working to see if they can reduce the list, however, there is nothing to worry about since you know the origin of there App, The Faraday Institute, and therefore can easily determine whether you wish to allow access (if it is a source you trust/is reputable etc..). The reason they need access to some parts is simply to add their details to your phone, (access your phone book for example is only to add The Faraday to your contacts).
I hope this answers your query for now. I will update you when I receive more information from the developers. Please feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.

1st things 1st - My device: Verizon S4 Root/Safestrap/Eclipse/Titanium Pro
Is there a way to not allow this to be done without uninstalling the TweetCaster app? I checked in the app's settings and I don't see any way to stop or not allow updates. I do have Google Play's settings at "Do not auto-update apps" - would this be sufficient? Or may Twitter go behind everyone's back and do this independently through their app and bypass Google Play? I do not want Twitter to be able to identify what apps I have or otherwise have access to my S4 to "target ads" to me.
Please note I Do Not have the Twitter app, I have TweetCaster (if it's different than the Twitter app? I don't know?) I heard facebook was doing this same BS & people deleted the app (I Do Not use FB) and am looking for a way to not allow Twitter to do this (if there is a way to). Thanks (I don't believe the last line below)

The company already has some personal information about those using its service—what they type into their Twitter profiles and the tweets they post—but now, it wants more. “To help build a more personal Twitter experience for you, we are collecting and occasionally updating the list of apps installed on your mobile device so we can deliver tailored content that you might be interested in,” the company says.
In this way, it’s following the lead of Facebook and Google and so many others that seek to target ads. The difference is that Twitter doesn’t have access to nearly as much personal data as Facebook, which inherently encourages users to provide information about themselves, or Google, which operates a wide range of services atop its own mobile OS. So Twitter is reaching out into other parts of the phone, something that is easy to do. The Apple/Google mobile OSes provide ready access to information like this & many apps take advantage of this—some going much further than others.

I think Tweetcaster is a third party application just like Falcon doesn't have anything to do with the default twitter app. .Or you can just see if that option is listed their within the Tweetcaster application to opt out of it.
:laughear all, able to add tel,address... to description of event while long press on description field. This function is incredible useful to make a call to those people who relative to this event. I haven't seen any similar function except calendar of Palm OS.
Is anyone willing to developing an app to implement the function?

I am looking for this for quite a while.
Is there an app that will allow me to create my own cloud based dictionary? I want to improve my language skills through creating my own dictionary.
The dictionary database has to be editable online (web based), since I would like to be able copy/paste detailed definitions from different web dicts.
And of course a sync-able android app that will allow me to check some words on the go or learn while in the train
"Now" dictionary is getting pretty closer to what I wish for, but it's only available for smartphones and no browsers.
"Anki cards" is cool too, but they focus on the flip-cards learning feature which I don't frankly need. I will be completely happy with a super simple searchable custom dict.
There are some apps that allow to create custom dict file and then upload it to the SD or whatever and use it. But I want to be able to add words constantly (web or on the go)
I'm thinking - there definitely is such an app, its just me who fail to search of it properly so please help )

And the best part is that this email will be sent from your account to your account, never leaving your own context. So your email address, as well as your identity, will stay hidden and secure.

I've been using flashcard-based apps for quite some time (Super Memo was great!) and I've found them very useful. But every one of them had some things that just doesn't work for me (e.g. troubles with data migration, lack of support for mobile devices, no statistics, etc.) - so I've decided to write my own.
One line of code to another and the idea transforms into something with its own domain name and Facebook/Twitter page.
