Lesser RAM usage tweak - Even better battery life - Galaxy Note 3 Neo General

Hello peeps,
I'm quite an android enthusiast, like many of you, and tweaker too. So I just want you to tell you how to tweak your note 3 neo so it performance better with yet more brilliant battery life and host of other handy things.
1) ROOT your phone:
Root is the answer for all tweaking and here are links for CF-Auto for Note 3 Neo N7505 - Link
2)Once you have successfully gained root access install Root Explorer or preferably Root Unintaller.
3)Once done you can uninstall the following bloatware without affecting the main functionality of the phone using either Root Explorer with r/w ON or Root Uninstaller:

Well, you can't really compare the usage with mine cause different people use their phone differently. Some are intense users like me whilst some hardly use their phones at all.

That's shows that the screen is draining more battery life then the system, a sure sign of lesser ram, as well as, battery? usage

Still I would want to see your usage if it's heavy. As people like me who do not game hard but use the phone to max otherwise would want to see it. This would encourage and make us think more if we want our Note 3 neo to go through the mentioned procedure.

Well, it's just food for thought. Trust me I'm an intense user and well, frankly going to the above procedure will obviously make your phone work better, removing the bloatware and hibernating the other running applications is known to make things better. Since you say you're a gamer it's all the more needed for you since it's most definitely frees up ram which games, at least the good ones, always need!

Well, I haven't tired that application but if it's any similar to root Uninstaller's freezing feature. You most definitely can. But still if you're not ever going to use them might as well free up more resources by Uninstalling.
If you want to disable rather than hibernate then disabling apps can cause problems. If you are going to that much work to tweak your phone, you might as well root it and use 'Greenify'. This first identifies which apps constantly wake-up using CPU time thereby decreasing battery life. From that list, you choose which apps to hibernate. The apps aren't disabled, but are prevented from launching on their own. You can launch any hibernated app the same as any regular app. When you are done using the app, it is automatically hibernated again and won't wake up until you call for it again.
Hibernation has an advantage over disabling apps. If you want to launch a disabled app, you must go through the step of enabling it as well as updating the app through Google Play. This can be time consuming. Just hope you don't need that information quickly and that you have decent internet access while you are going through these steps. Hibernated apps update via Google Play without losing their hibernated status.

May I know what the downside this might have? I mean, regarding with neo's features, of course I can tell that some widgets will be gone, but I noticed the airmotiontryactually and some other features are included on the "should freeze/uninstall". Will this remove the airmotion feature and the other key features of Note 3 Neo as well? Sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker.
Edit: I don't really care about the apps that can be downloaded on play store like the youtube, chrome, gmail, dropbox, etc. I just want to know those samsung apps that will only work for Note 3.

I doubt it that it would make that much of a difference such that it would alter the benchmark, anyhow here are the test results and they seem really good. Judge for yourself. I used the best and the most reliable AnTuTu benchmark App.

The list I have quoted won't affect the main functionality of your phone. The phone contains a lot of bloatware that pretty much all of us don't ever use, and Samsung is synonymous for that. But I would advice you to pay attention while you uninstall or freeze them, so that you can skip the ones you need and remove the ones that you don't need. But as far as I see haven't listed any of the key features of the phone in the list that can be useful.

[TUT] Remove Junk Apps + List (4.1.A.0.562)[Updated for ICS!]

Hello guys,
as you might remember I posted a tutorial on how to remove Junk Apps for 2.3.4 firmwares.
A lot of people requested the same for 4.0.3 - so here it is guys
I decided to open a new topic to keep it clearly arranged for Android 2.3 and Android 4.0.
So let's get started:
Note:
I'm posting this here in the Neo forums, too because my old tutorial worked for the Neo (V), too.
How to delete the Junk Apps:
Go into "system/app" with Root Explorer, in that folder are all the Junk Apps. Now press "Mount R/W". Now you can delete the Junk Apps one by one or multi-select them. To have a backup of the apps, I'd suggest you to move them to the sd card. It's good to make a folder called "Junk Apps - name of the firmware" on your sd card.
Now select the apps, press move and go to the sd card and to the folder "Junk Apps - name of the firmware" and press paste. Done.
List of the Junk Apps for 4.1.A.0.562:
- adobereader.apk (Adobe Reader)
- antradioservice.apk (ANT Radio Service)
- chinesetextinput.apk (chinese keyboard)
- datatrafficswitch.apk (Data on/off widget)
- DigitalClockWidget.apk (digital clock widget)
- Home.apk (Sony launcher, only delete this when you have another launcher installed!!)
- JapaneseIME.apk (japanese keyboard)
- livewaremanager.apk (Live Ware Manager)
- neoreader.apk (Neoreader)
- officesuite.apk (Office Suite)
- OmaDatasyncService.apk (part of Sony Sync)
- playnowclientarvato.apk (Play Now)
- POBoxSknPink.apk (skin for chinese keyboard)
- POBoxSknWood.apk (skin for chinese keyboard)
- Protips.apk (Android tips on homescreen)
- SemcCrashMonitor.apk (Crash Monitor)
- SEMCSetupWizard.apk (Setup Wizard)
- Stk.apk (SIM Tool Kit)
- storefront.apk (all the new stuff that has something to do with Fun&Downloads. Removes 3 items from the app drawer that belong to that game thing)
- Sync.apk (Sony Sync)
- Talk.apk (Google Talk)
- talkback.apk
- trackid.apk (Track ID)
- UpdateCenter.apk (Update Center)
- usersupport.apk (Support)
- WeatherWidget.apk (Weather widget)
- widgetanalogclock.apk (Clock widget)
- widgetcalendar.apk (Calendar widget)
- widgetdigitalclock.apk (digital clock widget)
- widgetonoff.apk (most on/off widgets)
- widgettimer.apk (timer widget)
- widgetworldclock.apk (world clock widget)
I've removed all these apps from my Xperia Arc and it's running fine and faster than before. Also you have more free RAM so your apps don't get killed as fast anymore when you minimized them.
This might also work on other Xperias when they are on the mentioned firmware, too. But I can't test that.
Thanks to:
doomed151 for posting a list of all stock apps in system/app for me
Do this at your own risk. I'm not responsible if you brick or damage your phone by doing this!
If this helped you, please press "Thanks"
Regards,
Flo
SemcCrashMonitor.apk (Crash Monitor)

Why don't we just freeze these apk's with titanuim backup ? more ram will be free & just in case if we need something(like a widget maybe) simply unfreeze it
btw nice tutorial Flo
@ dhwanik:
Well, I'm removing it since I have the X10 and I am using ROMs without it for 1.5 years without problems.
I'd say it's not needed.
@ ThilianaC:
Well, that's a method, too.
I've always done it with Root Explorer.
I'm glad you like it

I guess everything.
But from what I've read a lot of us (including me) use Facebook Inside Xperia, that's why I didn't include it. Also I don't want to remove main features of the phone.
But when I'm free I can add it to the list. But currently I'm busy...

i thinks its like you get a prompt when something crashes, it can send a report to Sony/Google
then crash monitor is no use after all.
Can anyone help me to find a way to delete the stock Analog clock widget from xperia neo, I cannot find the apk
Without CrashMonitor you still get the "blabla doesn't respond" message

Why not just use the disable option via 'manage apps'? This way you can still receive OTA updates without having to unfreeze or replace removed apps. Disabled apps will also not appear in your app drawer or nag for updates.
Yeah that's what I have been doing, was just wondering if there was anything else people were tweaking?

@Elim Yea, the Briefing widget contains no thumbnails.,will look into it
and samsung apps widget works fine for me.
Try this
1. clear data and delete widget from system/app or system/priv-app
2. Try installing it as normal app.
3. If installing as normal app works then move it system/app.

Hmm, I dont think it would work on a non-rooted device.
you need root permissions to copy .apk files to sys/priv-app.
Even if you get it to install as a normal app, its dosen't replace the system default app. So FC's are much likely.:silly:

2. Copy the provided apk in system/app - no need to rename it.

Accuweather is (for me) not a MagazineUX but a normal widget.
And I also found out that the widgets in the Magazine depends on the system language. And not only the content but by example in dutch you have less widgets.

Check your version of touchwiz/magazine launcher (Sec launcher.apk), if it is anything other than the one in benni_1994 Rom, then it probably may not work..(Usually It should work with other version too )..
For applications widget, you must have the magazine widget supported applications installed ( if you want music widget, then you must have the version of music player which supports magazine widgets).

-=[SM910-F] MM Debloat script V.2- DEVELOPMENT CLOSED]=-

Im done with the sarcasm.
As I already stated this was only for personal use.
Ill be closing the thread till further notice.
all links have been removed
-=[THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS]=-
I am NOT a Developer, simply an end user that dabbles in things here and there.
I have edited and used Debloat Scripts before, so this is nothing too out my comfort zone.
I was getting a little fed up with Identifying and freezing select apps and services on our new MM roms (ive found removing them in the rom has caused alot of issues)
So I decided to port over a Debloat script originally made by @ambasadii further ported with aditional tweaks for the S6 by @TENN3R HERE Thank you guys for all your hard work! :victory:
-=[Why did I use this script?]=-
With it being adapted for the S6, it conveniently leaves all our S-pen functionality alone.
-=[What's Different to @TENN3R's version?]=-
I removed all CSC tweaks (as they wont apply to our model)
Removed the "remove start up sound" as I like mine
First things first, lets get the Obvious stuff out the way
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS IN ANY WAY DAMAGES, BRICKS YOUR DEVICE OR KILLS YOUR CAT!!
MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP!!! Whether this be in TWRP or what ever recovery your using. This includes your EFS folder. (Always better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it :silly
DON'T ASK FOR UPDATES! I originally only made this for personal use and have decided to share it as no one else has created one (as of yet) I will likely be changing the script as I see fit, this will be reflected in the change log below.
FOUND A BUG? GOT A PROBLEM? SEARCH THE THREAD FIRST!!! There is nothing worse than a 400+page thread with the same 15 questions. If your like me and subscribe to important threads, you will know how annoying this is.
FOUND ANOTHER APP OR SERVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD? Lets discuss it, I will probably add it IF it doesn't break any important functionality.
I WILL NOT BE PROVIDING THE REMOVED APPS - I might change my mind in the future, but not as of now. (you should have a back up so this shouldn't be an issue)
This is for MM ONLY! WONT WORK ON LL OR LOWER. Apps have different names in MM so it wont do its job. There are other De-bloat options out there for LL and lower.
This Script mainly removes Google Apps and some system Apps.
You can go through the list below for more detail of what it removes.
If you want, you can always edit the script yourself! Have a Google.
There are plenty of Tutorials on how to do this
-=[Installation instructions]=-
I recommend using this on a freshly installed rom. I've not tried it on a already set up system (although it should make no difference, but you have been warned)
Back up everything, just in case.
Flash in recovery
Reboot
That's it!
First boot may take some time as it clears cache and Delvic.
Apps will need to optimise.

Hi.
I'm not "adding" funtionality...
The script is simply to remove bloat ware. Once we have a working theme store I will make sure I remove any apps in the script so it doesn't break theme store functionality.

Apologies, I Wasn't aware of a fully functioning theme store port as yet (Only aware of partial theming)
I have amended the bloat script accordingly. Let me know if you have any further issues regarding Themes as I don't personally use them (unsupported on my rom currently)
l will amend it further if needed.

Good! Glad it worked for you.
Im trying to keep it simple. I know there are others that gut the system, but ive had issues with them. this way i can keep tabs on what i want or dont want.
Nice work! Really nice list of useless apps
Could you add a version with SamsungTTS and Stalkback enabled?
Removing those will break accessibility services which are required for certain app functionalities
Thanks for sharing!
stock rom with root but after this script ultra power saving mode does't do anything when activated... ☺

Ill make a revised version for you with TTS in. Didnt know if you where aware but you can also use Google TTS in place of Samsung TTS and it will not break functionality (normally breaks Nova notification gesture drop if any TTS is not installed)

I Dont use it, nor do I think it does a good job lol I wont be including this in, sorry. Like mentioned in the original post, you van edit it to include it yourself. Winzip/Winrar and Note++ are what I would recommend using.

@srfairhurst I MAY make a test version for you with all your requested apps (as your not running root)

I'm pretty sure you need the Samsung tts for the accessibility settings. I had both google and Sammy tts installed but once the script is flashed and Sammy tts is removed, you're unable to grant apps accessibility permissions. Thanks for your answer in either case, looking forward to v3!
