holly crap...already got system dump for Tab S? how did you get that?:good:

First of all, thank you for this little mod. It's a pretty one ;]
Second: I use Note 12.2, I know it's 10.1 thread, however i followed the link in 12.2's topic, also i think this might be important for other 2014 Note's users as well, as the devices hardware is almost equal. See below for details.
So... Flashable zip DOES NOT work out-of-the-box on my SM-P905 (Note Pro 12.2 LTE / Qualcomm cpu based) running stock (but: deodexed, rooted, heavily debloated...) 4.4.2 firmware.
Boot animation does not show up at all, there is only Tab S booting sound in background, but tablet keeps displaying bootloader screen all the time, until Android is booted (it does not cause bootloop, fortunately).
After running bootanimation binary thru terminal the animation does not show, too (and it showed up on a genuine config!), and the shell outputs some warnings about unoptimized libraries to stderr.
In my opinion, there might be some difference between exynos/mali and qualcomm/adreno libraries/binaries (there are A LOT of differences related to other system components and even system structure itself...), and the ones provided within a zip do not comply with qualcomm hardware/other system components, resulting in lack of graphics. I bet it's a library file, as it has different size (it is... 4 bytes smaller on stock rom), although I didn't compare the binaries size... Please note that it is possible that the issue MAY apply to P605 users too, as well as other LTE/qcom tabs (note thet this is only a guess, based on my own experiences...). It would be a good idea to provide some backup/restore solution or at least tutorial, until further tests on LTE devices are made; fortunately, I have backed up all the essential files, ie. media components, lib and binaries before flashing your zip, but if someone didn't, he may be forced to flash system image/restore whole system nand backup to revive the bootanim back to life...
And what's important, the fix for the lack of display is more than simple. I have restored /system/lib and /system/bin stuff back to my stock ones, leaving only provided Tab S stuff in /system/media dir. After rebooting... voila! It works!
Quick summary: at least on Note 12.2 LTE, swapping /system/media files only is enough to make Tab S bootanim work. Moreover, swapping /system/bin and lib files breaks the bootanimation visual output.
I have a question, also. I wonder if there are any differences in Tab S charging screen (the one that shows up when device is connected to charger but powered off) and if so, are you able to provide necessary files (AFAIR the charging "animation" is triggered by playlpm binary + some other /system/media files, but not sure here, too).
Thank you for your patience.

Hi
I dont have custom recovery for flashing. Do i just copy and paste the 3 system/media files (after backing up original files) and then reboot? If not, could you please post the necessary system files for copy and pasting? I am using P605 LTE.
Thanks

At least on P905 (the same hardware as P605), overwriting /system/media files with the ones manually extracted from the (flashable) zip file is absolutely working fine and the old bootanim will be replaced by a new one. Just don't forget to check if the file permissions weren't messed up during the operation (644 are a good ones...).
Offtopic: Ofc you shall perform changes to system, so nand backup is still recommended. If you do not want to keep custom recovery during everyday use for any reason, but you have the possibility of flashing it when needeed, at least temporarily for a time needed to restore backup, you may want to check out Onandroid Backup solution (look for it @ xda/GPlay), which lets you creating both cwm and twrp compatibile nand backups directly from Android booted up and running.

Thanks!

[THEME] TouchWiz UX Blue Mod **Works with every ROM/Build versions**

Hi guys! I've been using Samsung devices for a year or so (Samsung Galaxy S Captivate and now Galaxy Tab 10.1) and I like how TouchWiz look, but I hate how Samsung threw so much green in their blueish theme so I made this mod.
My goal is to take off every green in the TW UX theme and make it blue. This is something I started making for me and I decided to share it with you.
Here's what I achieved so far:
- Themed notification toggles
- Themed wifi in and out icons
- Themed brightness scrubber

}
Installation instructions
1. Download the file
2. Extract the content, there's one folder for every apks you need to pull from your tab (As of now there's only SystemUI.apk)
3. Pull the appropriate apks from your tab
4. Make a copy of your stock apks in case something goes wrong
5. Make sure you did the previous step
6. Re-read step 4 and 5
7. Open your apks and copy my images into the appropriate folders
YOU DON'T NEED TO DECOMPILE OR EXTRACT YOUR APK, JUST OPEN IT USING YOUR FAVORITE ARCHIVE MANAGER
8. Push your modified apks to your tab and reboot.
I strongly suggest to reboot in recovery and use adb to push your modified apk
The reason why I use this installation method rather than a flashable zip is that this way, you can apply this mod on any ROM or Build version, as long as you have TouchWiz on your tab.

It doesn't modify anything, only image swapping. You have to modify your own apk so you still have stock. You need to be rooted though.
Thanks looks good, no clue why they didnt match the colors in the first place
I was thinking of doing a theme myself, mostly just changing the background of the settings menu etc, maybe some icons too, just not sure about the amount of work involved

Hey guys, at the end nothing is wrong, it missing something .
I have found and fixed it. Froli you missed the folder drawable-sw600dp-mdpi for the galaxy tab 10.1. So to see in my original SystemUI.apk in the Overcome Rom. <- link
When you copy the same pictures in that folder then it works. Only one or two images are missing. I will report this in 15 minutes. Have to take a look now.
X Minutes later
The missing files are:
1 - quickpanel_icon_airplane_dim.png (uploaded zip file quickpanel_icon_airplane_dim.zip)
2 - the green checker by AUTO setting for brightness
.. - i didn't find it he must be somewhere in \system\framework\res\drawable-mdpi
.. - btn_check_buttonless_on.png or
.. - ic_bullet_key_permission.png
.. - otherwise i don't know for the moment
3 - added the icons for data (quickpanel_icon_ing & quickpanel_icon_data_on in zip quickpanel_icon_ing_and_data.zip)
4 - will check for more, but you users can put a finger on it to let us know which icon is missing or wrong colored for TW
BTW
1 - Here a LINK to calculate and understand chmod better for beginners. Also a online mod calculation can be found there.
2 - froli13 possible we can talk via skype (me = mike2nl)
3 - please report it is working or not
Possible i can do more, but it will be helpfull when froli is OK with that. Possible you user have ideas about it and then we can make it togehter? What do you think about it?...

Boot Animations for the Note

I don't see alot of boot animations for the Note, aside from the ICS version. I figured I'd pull some tablet bootanims that look good on our Notes from Rom Toolbox. Since the Rom Toolbox changer doesn't actually work right with our device anyway.
Stating the obvious...you need root using either the DaG or holonote kernel(not the original mashi root, but roloracer method is good) and a file manager with r/w rights enabled.
To install on the AT&T I-717 (I can't be sure of the Rogers, Bell boot anim file name and location)
1) Download the file you want.
2) Make a copy of the file (or use the original if you don't care to keep a named copy) and rename it to sanim.zip.
3) Make sure you're mounted as r/w in your file manager
4) Place the sanim.zip file in /system/media. That's it.
5) Reboot and you should see it.
6) To return to the boot animation you had cooked into your rom or kernel, just delete sanim.zip and reboot.

I followed your instructions, with no joy.
After I placed the file in \system\media
I renamed it to sanim.zip and the set R/O on the media directory.
Rebooted but still see's the Rethink stupid ATT Globe.
I guess I need a cooked ROM to make this work, was going to hold off a bit on running a rom other then stock for a few more months, and let them get a bit more mature.
Thanks anyways, I will keep this for future use.

I believe you have to have a kernel that supports it. I don't think just having root access is enough. That's why I asked which root method he used. He mentioned the fact that he still had the stock boot animation, so that leads me to believe that he used mashi's method and kept the stock kernel. Using da_g or holonote kernel, should resolve his issue as a different boot animation is used there. Hope this helps. I'm still an Android noob, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Any way to change the boot splash screen? (im on sauram)
The Samsung splash screen is actually 2 images. From what I remember, the first one is easy to replace, but the glowing one requires some ADB commands. Not positive of this, but I think so. I'm sure there are threads dedicated to it, search and you will find.

I like the Grey Countdown animation very much~
Hrmm, must be doing something wrong, I am on Holonet kernel but I just see the standard Android word animation, I'm rooted using Da_G's original method running ROM Saurom RC4.
I downloaded the ICS zip someone posted here, mounted system/media with R/W and copied the sanim.zip file into that folder. Just tried the same with the countdown anim from the OP and the same result.
Odd
Worked perfectly, thanks for the boots......

I am having the same issue in an app I am building for the Acer a510.
Or should I say, WAS having.
Bad Code
Code:
adb pull /system/app/ /Backups/system/app
Good Code
Code:
adb pull /system/app/ ./Backups/system/app
The difference for me was the " . " for the destination.
It was creating the files on my root C:\ drive instead of the
intended directory. I pulled the entire contents where I want now.
I am not sure if this will help you at all, but I thought I would share.
***EDIT***
It worked until I got to /data/app
There is where I got the same error.
"0 files pulled. 0 files skipped"
After changing permissions on the folder,
everything pulled.

Good Code
Code:
adb pull /system/app/ ./Backups/system/app
The difference for me was the " . " for the destination.
It was creating the files on my root C:\ drive instead of the
intended directory. I pulled the entire contents where I want now.
I am not sure if this will help you at all, but I thought I would share.
***EDIT***
It worked until I got to /data/app
There is where I got the same error.
"0 files pulled. 0 files skipped"
After changing permissions on the folder,
everything pulled.

Thank you so much for your sharing On my Sk17i I also changed the folder permission too but still didn't work, but upgrading to custom ROMs makes it work. I will note your solution in the next update of the program so it could help other users

The way I changed permissions was in Root Explorer.
I believe the way I changed them made it 777, not sure.
hi man, thanks for sharing your work!!
it's a really useful program, I just used it to delete a theme apk: I applied the theme (CM 7) and when I reboot my phone had a bootloop!
just a question: why is this software not into the general development section? Here is hard to find it!
anyway, a great alternative for people who don't / are not able to use adb..
see you!

It's almost a year and suddenly a new post appeared. Thanks for your interest ! I also hope I could find way to update it in the future.
hi acb123, a really nice little tool you developed!
do you think there would be any way that the uninstall menu does not show every single installed "app", but only the ones that the user installed and can be actually removed?

I think this is a bug in my rom but there is no update for this rom give because I work at another moment.
More details in the next few days.
I have solved the problem. I install a lock software instead of the system's locker, so it can wake and unlock.
Its sure the problem came maybe from software or library but i dont give a time too look about it
if lock software work then we push it on newer release

The problem can also be fixed installing LoadMonitor (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.landak.loadmon) and enabling WakeLock from the preferences :good:
I have to ask something.. I've just installed on my Wave the Turko CFW V8, and now i'd like to put this android system on the phone. But when i connect it, PC tells me that i've only 410 Mb of free space. But the Android files are 625 Mb. Then, those are my questions:
1) Turko V8's fota and boot support android system or i've to use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901022
2) Before installing Turko V8 i didn't make an Hard Reset.. I've to do that?
3) The Osp folder does not exist on the phone, i've to create it? And expecially, how can i put files there if i haven't sufficient free space?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

1.Copy System.img and zimage to phone memory (410mb)
2.TurkoCFW supports latest fota and bootloader no more need to flash again
3.Not needed
4.You can see OSP folder while connecting your phone to PC with USB (Kies Mode)
Thank you very much hero355, i really appreciate your help!!
But i've found 2 bugs (i think) on this android ROM:
1) The system can't see my external SD card.
2) The folder "sdcard" in "/mnt" doesn't work as well. Here, there should be the "common" user's files, like picture, videos and music. But when i try to open it with file manager it says "The SD card is not currently mounted". I can't take picture or open gallery. The system can't see user memory.. How can i solve this problem?
EDIT: No answers?
Dont hit me but i cant get it run.
Flashed the Turko V8 and tried another boot + fota too.
Is there any more Step exept copy zImage, System.img to "phone" and data.img to "OSP". OSP is always called "Folder" but meant
is the "drive" on the "Hero355" Phone? No need to create Folders or rename files?
I just dont get it. I flashed the wave several times and also had the first Froyo-Version (badadriod) on it.
And now this easy stuff just wont work. Freaking out!
Would be very nice someone could help me with it. :good:

nand version is faster.
apps dont work because the phone id is set back to S8500 (wave 1)
and apps doesnt work with that id. (like mc3)
if its again galaxy s1 (I9000) then we can install more apps.
also, overclock doesnt work with the inbuild overclocker, haven't tried yet to use other overclock apps.

Support Thread for DSA Rom`s (4.4+5.1)

Hi Community,
this is a support thread for DSA Rom`s
The reason for this here is, that all DSA threads on XDA are closed and I dont know where to share experiance and bugs for the DSA Roms.
First of all, a big thanks to DSA for sharing your Roms.
I am using the 4.4 Rom, and what should I say?
Fast, stable and clean....simple perfect
I've combined the DSA Rom with Malaysk parts to get screensafer working.
What experiance do you have with DSA Roms ?
Please share it with us
Best regards
By far the best ROM's for these units in my opinion. I'm currently stripping down DSA's 4.4.4 ROM, removing all unnecessary APK's for my system and use case, completely removing Google Play, and it boots quickly and loads nav quickly as well.
I made @dsa8310 lollipop lite by unninstalling all unusefull apps and I got it usable on 1Gb ram, much better then kitkat, because the programs run better for me and everything works... (mtc-keys, mtc manager etc.)
Was planing to make the lite update.img file to install with changed logo and removed apps, but when I was building an image it gets bigger then dsa's one, don't know why... If I tried booroondoks one, it is smaller as it should be.
If anyone knows all the apps which can be removed or just the explanation of apps it will help to build an image.
Now I totally have more than 65 apps removed and the system is fully responsive with google maps and google play included (the only problem is that removing apps from folders on computer that there is not the same package names like the apps names itself.)

He @dsa8310) split the file in half. when you run the 1st part, it will join part1 and part2 when it makes the update.img (Use 7zip or unrar
Thank´s a lot, Oldpapa49!
Did you, or did you ever have the DSA-ROM?
How is the subjective compared to a Malaysk-ROM?
Actually, Malaysk-ROM runs on my HU quite well, but I´am too curious as the ROM of dsa8310 is

DSA8310 rom does very well (5.1.1) which currently I'm using now. He just makes it very basic. Boots fast and is not a FUSE type rom (FUSE uses all memory for APPs)
Malasky is a feature rom, he puts some apps in it to his liking. It is FUSE type to no limit to the amount of apps.
I like to have a speedometer on main display (mal's does this) so I install a launcher that I can put what I want on the main screen.
I have the speed I want with the weather on main.
And I like apps, so I will have to limit my apps.
One question, bevore i install it:
The ROM is named xupdateKLD....
I'm worried that the "KLD" is not compatible with my JY. The ROM is not just for Klyde Head Units and universally applicable?

The only constrain to install DSA Rom is to have an MTCB Head unit and not MTCD or Intel! (I have a JY MTCB and this ROM is doing great)
I've tried to unzip the part2 of dsa ROM. It shows two errors. Whats wrong?
Edit:
No matter what 2nd part of any DSA-ROM I try to unpack, there are always 2 errors
I'm scared to destroy something on my Head-Unit when I'm flashing this update.img!

I downloaded the December xupdate rar files.
I placed both files in a folder and ran 7Zip and selected the 1st file (204,800KB) and had it extract the files. 7Zip will extract both part1 and part2 at the same time.
The extracted file will be filename update.img size of 818.159KB.
If you try extracting the part2, you will get an error. The pointers are in part1.
Done.... Oldpapa49, you are my hero!

Mine is a MTCB KLD6 800*480 that was 4.4.4....
I do on occasion, while driving or not, flash Mal ROM, DSA8310 ROM, Boonoorook ROM and factory. Was on DSA8310 until yesterday, now on latest 4.4.4 of Mal's. Who know what tomorrow will bring.
So far for flashing, I have done it all.
I have backups of the launcher that I like, (It historic where I can add my own stuff)
I want on my main page Speed, Weather and a few apps I like (Sirius is one).
I save my stuff via Titanium and recover apps that way.
I have like 20 USB Flash drives with all different update images.
I'm crazy.. Love it..
Hahah....., yes, you´re crazy!
The flashing of the DSA-ROM was not successful. For 10 minutes just black screen.
Is it the first time so long?

Steps are:
Flash update.img via MicroSD card in GPS slot or USB flash drive in USB slot with clear option.
After, got to second option from bottom to clear CACHE and all. The reboot unit. Should see dancing androids for a long time.
IT will the start the home screen.. Leave the unit alone, it will reboot to setup more stuff. reboot is 2 times.
Second time you should be good.
