[Q] Music Storage - Samsung Gear Fit

Hi, I think it might be answered before, but I would like to know if I can storage music in the Gear Fit, because if I buy it and go running, I will not carry my S5 and it would be great to use it to play music through my bluetooth headphones.
Also, would you recomend this Gear Fit? I will use it basically to run and have all the information sync to my S Health app, not so much for notifications. I've seen a lot of other bands but they can not sync to the S Health app.

Gear Fit doesn't have music player. It can only control the music (volume and forward/rearward) on your mobile. And if you want to run with Gear it's not good idea, because there are problems with counting distance and calories. Also you will need GPS on your mobile if you want to record the trace.

Headphones inline control skips and callsback?

Hello everyone. I have the skullcandy FMJ headphones but when i double click the inline control to skip track, it also calls back the most recent dialed number simultaneously. Does anyone know of any way to fix this? Preferably a way to disable the callback function?
download headset blocker from the market and you'll be good to go.
Thanks for your help, but I'm not looking for something to completely disable my headset as I'm not really getting any phantom calls, rather I need something to get around activating callback and next track at the same time.

What you want is actually Headset Button Controller, it'll allow you to change the stock behavior for double click plus it adds triple click, click and hold, and several other functions (or not, your choice). It's like $2-3 on the Market and there's a trial version I think. I use it with my MEElec M9P and it works perfectly. I'm surprised the app isn't more widely known since this is something manufacturers rarely get right on Android. Oh and it'll work with the stock music player and/or other players of your choosing.
If that's too steep (really?) there's a couple free music players that let you alter this behavior within the player only, I believe Winamp or dbPowerAmp do that, not sure. I like the stock player and it's integrated lock screen controls.

I use Headset Button Controller with my Sennheiser CX680i earbuds and it works great to control the button functions. You can even have it open an app upon cable insertion or preset volume etc. Great app.
Swyped using 2 cores and 3 Ds
Thats exactly what I was looking for Thanks!

Bluetooth Music control

Hi,
Im in desperate need of some sort of app that allows my to control the music on my galaxy tab via my phone (nexus S) via Bluetooth. I listen to all my music on my tab which is packed away in my bag when travelling and rather than having to take the tab out each time to change track, does any one know of a App which i can use to skip pause and select music via my phones Bluetooth?!
I'm sure im not the only one who would benefit from this app
Thanks in advance!
I take it there is no such thing
Maybe something like this?

“KENWOOD Music Control” is free app for Music control. I like this app as it works great with my Kenwood head unit via Bluetooth.

Smartconnect opens the Walkman app, instead of Google Music play?

Hello Members
I've a bluetooth Alpine car stereo, and when I connect my XZU the default music player is the Walkman app, if I pause the app and close it then try and use Google Music Player app, I get no sound through the car stereo.
I've worked out that apparently the Sony Walkman app takes possession of the Bluetooth sound connection as default, and that this is showing up in the Smartconnect app under the 'device' section under 'application'.
So, how can I change the default application that opens in the Smartconnect app to Google Music play, when I connect to my car stereo?
Any help would be great, thanks

SmartConnect/events then edit the one linked with your car stereo. Haven't tried it myself so don't know it you can change the default, but I have it so it plays PowerAmp on car connection, so should work.

Thanks SpyderTracks, if I add an 'Event' to the 'Alpine car stereo' device to allow Google Music Player to start, then what I get is, on connecting to the car stereo the Walkman app will open in the notification bar, but I'll have to close it first and then open the Google Music Player app.
Smartconnect should really just allow me simply to change the default startup 'Applications' rather than having to add additional events.
Has anyone got any ideas if the primary Application for a device in Smartconnect can be altered?
I really can't understand how, or why it's having to work in this way, and why Smartconnect didn't ask me first what Application I wanted to start, when I first made the Bluetooth pairing to the Alpine Car stereo.
This option should have been a choice that I make.

Just worth a try, try adding a new action when you're next in the car and deleting the existing one.

i can't get this working. i've paired my bluetooth earphones and all headset controls (even if in google music) work through that damn walkman app.
i looked in events and see nothing about stopping that app taking default control of inputs.
i tried to freeze the app and it did nothing.
i listen to audio courses on my phone on the way in to work and need to be able to press pause. this phone can't do that unless the screen is on in front of me the whole time which is going to kill my battery

ok, froze smart connect and walkman and seems to be better, except oddly the pause button doesn't work as it did before
and what i've done above stops the smartwatch connecting.
any way to have both?
SpyderTracks thanks for the suggestion, and I did think of trying that.
But when I initially connected the car stereo up to the phone the first time, it never gave me the option to setup a new Smartconnect hardware action for the stereo's connection, it made that wrong decision for me.
So, because we need to find out if either the Smartconnect software can either be controlled fully, or if it can be deactivated without effecting the SmartWatch 2 functions, I've email Sony for help also. I think that all bluetooth connect 'Application' decisions in Smartconnect software should be confirmed, and all Sony bluetooth hardware specific items should be automatic.
Or, that the Smartconnect software should only be relevant to Sony NFC Bluetooth, and WIFi products, and nothing else.
Hope your listening Sony!

Thanks for the info and your time on this... I hope Sony respond. It seems short sighted to lock such a good app to link to Sony apps only... Keep us posted please :sly:

Just an update,...
Sony never responded to my email, I ended up doing a Web chat, which got me nowhere so I ended calling them with no success.
I have read a few forum posts regarding this type of problem from a while back, people were experiencing problems of the Alpine head unit showing BT A Pause' when using some apps, while other apps on there phones (of the time) worked with no problems.
I think this problem not so much a Sony problem, as it is, how Google Music Player is interacting within the Bluetooth connection of the phone, and the way the Alpine Bluetooth car head unit is understanding the connection.
There was a known issue with Alpine BT head units, and ipods/Iphones/and Motorola s, which lead them to issue a firmware update, I wounder wheather this might be the case again for the XZU
I have just discovered this issue today when trying the google music app. This is frustrating as Play Music allows saving to SD by default, and I am not willing to root my Z Ultra.
It does appear that smart connect is locked to the Walkman app which makes switching music service almost impossible. :crying:

I use poweramp which you can set to autostart when there's a BT connection. Bypasses smart connect entirely with the same outcome.

This is quite a frustrating problem. Sony is quite elitist when it comes to their software. Fortunately andoid is flexible. Delete all events for smart connect. And install tasker. With tasker you can set Google play to start when headphones or bluetooth are connected.
Its not quite as good as smart connect unfortunately, because it has a very confusing interface. But once you figure out how to work with tasker its definately a "set and forget" type of functionality.
Hope this helps ^-^

Milk Music Ending

One of the things that confounds me is that the only music streaming app you could use on the Gear S without needing your phone was Milk Music. And now Samsung is canceling it. While you can import your stations to Slacker, there is no independent Slacker app for my watch. And Pandora would be great too but yet again doesn't exist.
It was really nice to hook up my Bluetooth headphones, start Milk Music and listen to it during a workout without needing to lug the phone around. I hope Samsung figures it out and provides some sort of replacement.
Yep I share your feelings. I don't hold a lot of hope samsung will develop anything new for the gear s
Best we can hope for is a port of some kind.
Do any of the other gear watches have a 3g radio?
this SUCKS.. one of the reasons I got the Gear s was because of the ability to leave my phone when working out .. the app selection for the gear s is crappy at best.. now it just got worse..
So are we just SOL since there are no more music apps? I made the stupid mistake of resetting my phone, so now the Samsung Milk App no longer works since it needs to connect to Samsung Milk at least once to initiate

Bluetooth Music Issues

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this query but I can't find anywhere else.
I've got a Swift 2X and I'm having real issues with the Bluetooth audio in my car. I had no issues with my previous Galaxy S5 but with the Swift the music keeps cutting in and out. I've tried most basic tests and the issue send to be completely random.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mitch

What way does it cut in/out? Does it pause the music or lose connection and then regain it? Also what model of car/radio.

Hi Heavy Metal Man, I think it's pausing and not losing connection. Everything Bluetooth wise works fine for calls, (Audible) audio books and Google navigation directions. The problem is when I try to listen to music from my phone, I've tried Spotify, Amazon music and Google music and the Origen is the same. And, I am when possible downloading the music to my phone and no streaming it over mobile data.
I have a 2011 DS3 with the built in original radio/Bluetooth hands free kit (not sure of the model of radio sorry).
Thanks in advance for any help.

Mitch

Hmm. What file format types are the songs? Any play better than others? It seems odd that it is only music. Have a play about with other sources and see if any play with less stuttering.
