[Q] Lock apps in memory without root - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hello to everyone.
I'm an owner of an lg l9 ii.
One day, after i bought the phone i made an update to 4.4.2
But now the dialer lags when i loaded it for first time. As it is in memory opens instantly, but when i clean ram i see a small lag only the first time i open it.
So to solve the problem, i want the dialer to be loaded permanently in memory.
Is that possible without root, because as far i search the forum isn't that possible with 442 rom.

Hmmm

Are you familiar with the Xposed framework? It has a great module called AppSettings, which allows you to set many parameters on a per app basis. Now, one of these parameters, called "resident", allows you to keep the app in memory even when you close it. I think it should help you with your issue.
I can help if you need help setting up Xposed or AppSettings .

Android pauses applications randomly

Hey,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II with stock rom.
I saw someone else had almost the same problem on another phone and posted it there in that phone's section but didn't get much help.
The device acts as if it has been paused every minute or so.
That means that whatever application I have open does whatever it would do if I would push the "sleep" (is it called that?) button and then opened it again.
For example, while writing a text message the keyboard would hide.
while running a game, the loading screen would come back on and then resume right where I was.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your running out of ram due to something starting up or running in the background
Download Advanced Task Killer and look there for ram or other problems and applications that my cause them.
Hi Guys, I have the same problem. I'm rooted. My phone is Cherry Mobile Flare 3.
I don't know exactly what is the cause of this problem and still unsolved. This happened when I tried to install modded play store but I think I don't like it cause I need Visa card. Then I want to bring back the original playstore with lucky patcher but it doesn't work. First I tried to back up all my apps and games with titanium back free version. And did a Factory data reset. After that I restore all my apps but whenever i tried to play games, music, videos. It always randomly pausing. F*** @-%[email protected]# I'm so tired of finding solutions. Please help me
Same problem after hard reset htc desire 310.... i think i will reset it again, and if problem persist, i Will flash the stock rom ... help, me if i have other solutions

Ram usage and multitasking

Hello everyone,
I've been reading the forum for a while and two weeks ago I decided to buy a galaxy s3 (the international version).
So far, I am more than satisfied with the phone but I experience the following issue:
First of all, even after restarting the phone, without opening any user apps, the ram usage is over 650mb out of the 830 available.
The problem is the following: Let's say that I open facebook and chrome. When changing between those 2 apps everything is ok.
Afterwards, I open instagram. When i want to turn from instagram to facebook/chrome, I have to wait at least 3 seconds looking at a white screen waiting for facebook to open. (Chrome even reloads the pervious page). It seems as if those apps were force closed and then restarted. (At that point, the ram usage reaches about 780mb).
In order to see what's going on, i opened two apps and looked at the task manager: Those apps were shown as "running". When opening a third app, one of the previous ones suddenly disappears from the task manager as if it has stopped running.
I'm running on android 4.1.1., stock rom without root and without any limit on background processes via developer options.
Is this normal? I mean... shouldn't s3 be able to flawlessly change between 3-4 apps without having to wait several seconds for the app to start (or re-start maybe) ?
Also, do you think that if i root my phone and flash a custom rom, will this problem be solved?
Thanks in advance
Hmm, the thing is how the Android is working, you can't have 'loaded'a lot of app, since there are simply not enough memory to keep these app in your memory phone. You can't do nothing about that expect:
Google: 'supercharge' and spent decent time understanding what is that.
Google: 'multiTasking mod v7' quick boost for your memory.
P.S update your system to 4.1.2 not sure if memory management will be better but this is must.
Try downloading 'omega kitchen' from the play store and grab from there 'mods'-'supercharge'

Remove all bloatware, 1gb ram is not enough to run everything on s3. I have to also freeze apps and unfreeze them before I need them. It's ridiculous really. Processes on s3 use 2 or 3 times more ram than nexus 7

Samsung made a big mistake giving the S3 1gb RAM.
Ignore everyone that says 'unused RAM is wasted RAM' while this is a totally valid statement, and in other Android devices very true, it's not the case for the S3. RAM on this phone is not managed well at all, if it gets below about 150mb the device gets slow and unusable.
Also multi tasking on the S3 is non existent, unless you modify ROM or framework, remove bloatware etc
I wod recommend a nice light ROM like Slim ROM or use JKay mod.
JKay mod has some awesome features to help lock apps in memory.

Thanks everyone for your quick and helpful replies.:good:
I rooted my phone with exynosabuse v1.4 and used gemini app manager to lock some bloatware apps.
Ram usage was minimized by at least 200mb and now i can keep 3-4 apps running so I can flawlessly multitask.
Although I've done some reading, I am not actually sure about two things:
1. I've read that when rooting the phone or flashing a ram, you activate a counter. Do you know if rooting with exynosabuse activates the counter?
2. The official 4.1.2 will be soon available in my country. I would like to know if i can update my phone via OTA or Kies now that it is rooted. And if i do so, do I lose my root?
Thanks
Exynos abuse won't increase the counter.
No you won't get OTA if you are rooted, once you install stock firmware root access will be lost.

[Q] Will rooting help with a slow Android?

I have a Galaxy S Relay 4g (SGH-T699). I notice that sometimes, when I try launching an app, it takes the phone a brief pause to launch the program. Google Drive is an example, but something as simple as making a call reproduces a very noticeable pause which is annoying to say the least.
I don't have many programs running simultaneously, and I try to keep my phone clear of unnecessary apps. I'm running Android version 4.1.2.
Will rooting help with this?
Thanks.

Yes it would be faster when rooted. You could overclock your CPU. I have found that the ROM Kaos Droid increases performance. There are other ROMs that are built for speed, like Commotio. You could build your own ROM. too. Also, There are some things you can do to speed your phone up without rooting. Keep webpages closed when not using them, Task Manager by Rhythm Software helps a bit too, and you should reboot your phone about once a day also.

Yes root will help, you can then use tools to overclock your device also you can use mods and tweaks to increase performance. In case of overclocking you will need to have a kernel which supports changing of clock freq also some mods and tweaks will need int.d support which is not included in all the kernels.
Hey guys, thanks for the response, where can I go to get started with rooting? Do you have a link?
Thanks for your help! :victory:

I think there is a separate thread for your device, you will find all the information you need there. Use the device search option in the forum.

[Q] Lg f60 D390n help

This is my first thread so, here it goes... I got the new LG F60 and i just ADORE IT... But, there are a couple of issues... First of all, it says the phone needs to have 4gb memory and i get only 1.3 in my settings>apps and the same in settings>memory.
When i got in settings>memory it said i had 1.3 free and among other stuff last on the list in MISC it said that my system data(yeah in misc) took up 2.3gb! That's enormous! So i tried googling the issue but i came up with nothing, i tried the forum on android central and no solution what so ever, so this is kinda my last hope.
Oh yeah, i did a factory reset and it didn't help at all, same size remained...
Also, as noted in my manual, i was supposed to have these apps but i don't: quick memo app, default gallery app, calculator app, video player app, radio app... Only gapps and the very basic ones that come with the phone... I have no idea how to fix it if it's possible or what the problem is... Here are some screenshots that might help a bit(note the last image is after the factory reset, and it says that the whole partition is 1.3 gb when i connect it to my pc and all together in settings>memory it says it has 4 gb):
I have one and w_8gb i love this cell.

I bought this phone today and having the same issue . I want to return it back to the seller but not possible because i have broken the seal of the package. This really sucks, no room for install applications.
I had the same problem. I bought additional SD card class 10 with 16gb storage, downloaded bunch of apps (for gallery, even the photo app - the stock one isn't that practical) and thats it. F60 is running the stock 4.4.4 kit kat so that is why we get so many Google related applications and no custom ones. Hope this helps.

Need some advice around malware/viruses on android

Hello,
I've been looking around for an application that tracks application installs.
Especially for malware installs.
Let me explain the situation:
I've got a smartphone with installed apks (all legal from the playstore)
After a while I am trying to find out what problems are causing some random ad popups (about dating for those who are interested) it's caused by an apk called recents.
I always delete that program. But it seems that it reinstalls itself, every now and than.
also since today I've got an shortcut on my main screen that is called coobrowser (not coolbrowser although it has the same icon image, tried to find out where it came from but I can't find an apk either)
I know some applications:
os monitor is a good one though it doesn't accomplish my needs. (I can see the connections but there it stops)
Catlog doesn't make me any wiser
I hope someone know what I'm talking about and has this kind of application in reach.
TLDR: In need of an application install tracker that monitors which applications open a port for another application install (read malware)
I have the same issue with my phone.
When I clicked app info it turned out to be called trebuchet.
What type of phone do you have?
Yes exactly that's what I get too,
Jiayu S3
That is built into their os. It is made to reinstall if it detects it is Uninstalled. It's not an app that is doing it but the OEM of the device. It is known that many of the Chinese devices do this to counter the cheap prices of the device. Your only option would be to build an aosp based rom if you can.

I've got the same phone and the same issue started to appear recently. First the "recents" app, now the "coobrowser". The orginal Trebuchet icon is gone. Not sure if this is a virus or feature from JiaYu. How to tacke this without crafting my own ROM as mentioned?

Yeah I've managed to remove recents (since this was causing random ad popups)
I've got the exact same problem. Just want to know how to track it down
I can't see any other option than installing a different ROM, because the stock one is strange regarding security. For example every reboot resets "install apk from unknown sources " to YES, which is fishy. Bye bye stock rom, I liked it at the beginning but with these issues I am forced to switch.

I've just noticed they have published the official rom for android 5.1 http://www.needrom.com/download/17-09-android-5-1-for-the-jiayu-s3/
I decided to avoid the official ROM as the problems I experienced were with the previous official ROM. I went for the "rom-xtreme-rom-tf"
So far so good, but don't you try to uninstall the Google Now app from android 5, I was unable to boot doing so.
