High SAR Value of Moto E ? - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Moto E has very high SAR value..... read this in many Moto E user's reviews.
Is it really true?
What are the harmful effects of any 'High' SAR value handset to its user's health?
This is an important topic which should be discussed coz it is directly related to our health.
Do anyone have trustworthy information about this???

SAR or Specific Absorption Rate is the amount of radiation absorbed by our bodies per unit mass. While cell phone radiation has not been shown to be carcinogenic, it has not yet been disproved that it has no correlation with cancer in humans so the govt.s set the limit on the amount of radiation to be on the safer side. The SAR value has a fixed limit of 1.6 W/kg in India and the SAR value of Moto E(Dual SIM) is 0.7 W/kg while of Moto E(Single SIM) is 1.2 W/kg which is quite less than permissible. So don't worry about radiation, it's an awesome phone!

as of now there is no comprehensive study about the long term effect. It may be high compared to other phone but is under limit which is prescribed by government of india. Hence it is sold in India since it is safer to use. Don't worry about the sar value since the reading is maximum at a given time and may be lower in actual daily use

What is Currect SAR VALUE of moto-E.
Ofiicial site says .67w on head,
And phone saying 1.50 w/kg on head and 1.32w/kg on body.
Which is true?
It seems I am facing headache through high redation and long using @3 hours on data mode.
What is actual SAR value of moto E? Anyone facing problem too?
Pls reply.

1.5 is the right one. You are facing headache through high radiation???? are you scientist???

Cmon Dude .The SAR Level Is below the Thrash holed Value. No Issues Such this .. A Brand Like Motorola Will never compromise on these kind of issues.. Chill Relax and Take Some Medical Aid

@5hubh4m @amarjit_rsingh @Shravanramjas Is the SAR value of 1.5 for Moto E safe???
I know it's below the GOI prescribed value of 1.5 but still all these Crapsung droids have SAR values which are well below 1...!!!
I mean Moto E SAR value is quite high with regard to its peers... won't this be a health hazard???

Pressing the phone for very long hours ( in the range of 1 n half to 2 hours) against the ear causes problem. It may be not due to SAR value but heating up of the phone and causes slight headache. Never faced such issue with my earlier Nokia phone. Now I use headphn if needed to talk for such a long time.

Who talks 1-2 hr continuously on phone? Your ears will be definitely damaged if you talk that long continuously
sent from my Xperia X8

I don't think as of now there is any comprehensive study done about the SAR effect on human being. So basically all is theory and no details about the effect on human being (no confirmed reports about the study on human about SAR effect)

Hi,
can anyone look into manual and tell me what is the SAR value of Moto E (European version), please ?
I find on the internet that the value is 0.76 W/kg (European version) but I´m not sure about that.
Thank you very much!

Absolutely. I think 2GHz is easily feasible if you plug the phone to 220V directly instead of using the wall charger!

@Dear MIA moderator, kindly lock this thread if a miracle ever happens and you appear.
I have read somewhere that higher frequencies can be faked as well. So some roms might be behaving like this.
On the other hand, I have read 1gh oced to 1.8gh. An 80% OC.
So, theoretically, our phone oc can be stretched to 600*1.8= 1080mh.
Depends on many other factors as well, which, I don't know.

We've so many posts complaining about kernel panics for anything more than 748 MHz(even 710 in some cases). If the phone doesn't support it, accept the fact and move on. This is not a super phone and has its limitations. So practically, it does not make sense to do something the phone is not capable of, unless you want to have your device getting bricked forever.

Come back after you have found a P500 phone that is stable at at least 864MHz. Good luck. After you have tested couple hundreds of phones with no success, perhaps you will go find yourself another ricer project.
Can't even see the practical purpose of getting our cpu at these high freqs.
This phone has a limited hardware capabilities compared to high end devices. Everything that this phone can handle, can do it pretty well with frequencies way less than 800mhz (combined with a nice kernel/rom setup ofc).
Personally i'm one of the few ones with a phone stable at 864 mhz. But for anything except gaming emulators or mkv movies decoding there is no real uses in what i do to maintain it at that speed. The changing of screens on the launcher is also a little bit faster at 864 and thats it. For 150$ and wifi tethering its still amazing.

[TIPS]What to check before buying local (Re-Branded) Android!

So, ur planning to buy a local (Re Branded) Android?
but there's something u must consider before purchasing one!
I'll go through some major points that should be taken before buying a local (rebranded) set!
please hit
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
button if it helps u!
Now!
Lets go through the points.....
## Cheking the Sensors ##
> While most of these rebranded sets offers a large range of sensor in them, its always better to check before buying!
from personal experience, sometimes some more sensors are embedded in these sets than from official specifications....
√ Coooool tips
you can use Android Sensor Box app for cheking the main sensors!
and CPU-Z for checking all available sensor!
*Accelerometer sensor check!
To check weather the acc. sensor if 2D/3D, go to Android sensor box, tap on the ball icon in the upper left corner, tap on the graph button!
now move the device in various angle.....
if there's one straight line in the graph then the sensor is 2D, otherwise its 3D
## Checking the Chipset ##
> Some of my friends got cheated for not checking the chipset upon buying! So, be sure to always check the chipset according to the specification. (u can relay on CPU-Z app for that )
if its worse chipset then its in official specifications, then don't even think of it! if its same, then okay!
(and if its better then the chipset mentioned in official specification, well then, ur welcome to comment back here for ur reward from me )
## Checking the Camera ##
We all do it!
wondering what's so serious about it?
well, just check the video resolution!
(if ur on a low end device with about 2 MP camera, DUDE, don't even read this point! )
## Always try to read a review before buying one if possible ##
while its not possible to get pros and cons of an android just by handling it for a few minutes, u can always relay on the "Hands on Review" from ur own countrie's websites! If u don't find any review then look for its rebranded sets reviews (explained in the next point)
## If ur a ANDROID-cic" person, then go for the set with most rebrands ##
its very, infact perhaps the most important point for all android savvy persons...
since ur very insterested in androids, u'll want custom recoveries like CWM,TWRP and lots of custom roms for ur device!
and, if u go for an Android with most rebrands, you'll certainly get these with ease!
Blv me, low end Android owners (with very few rebrands) can manage custom recovery (mainly CWM, not TWRP) anyway, but when it comes to custom rom, its almost IMPOSSIBLE for them to find!
wanna know why?
its simple!
why would any developer give his (hard!) work for a low end device that can't even run temple run oz smoothly!!
so if ur interested in flashing custom roms in ur device, buy an Android with 512 MB ram with Dual Core nd at least one or two rebrands!
Preferred chipsets: MT6572 (low price) ♦ MT6589 (medium price) ♦MT6582 (LATEST and low price) ♦ MT6589T/W/M (low price) ♦ MT6575 (low price)
## THE GPU ##
If ur a gamer nd wanna play HD games like Dead Trigger 1/2, MC4, NOVA3, Gangstar Rio, Asphalt 8 then try to buy an Android with Mali-400, PowerVR SGX 540 or Adreno 220
And if its an MP2/3/4 GPU, then ur set is just a beast!
## Combination ##
Below I'm giving some sample combinations (That I tasted) of chipset, cpu and gpu for various gaming experience (of course smooth)
Games: Dead Trigger 1/2, MC4, NOVA3, Gangstar Rio, Asphalt 8
* High Settings:
Mali-400 on MT6582
Mali-400 on MT6589
PowerVR SGX 544(al least 540 or up) on MT6589
*Medium & Low Settings:
Mali-400 on MT6572/MT6575
PowerVR SGX 531/535 on MT6572/MT6575
## Bechmarking ##
If u can, check the benchmark score in AnTuTu (total benchmark of android) and NenaMark2 (benchmark of GPU)
In AnTuTu, a score of above 9,000 is a medium configuration's set.
While above 13,000 is an med-high configuration's set.
And above 20,000 is pretty high for an android!
Click to collapse
Now let's go to NenaMark2.
In NenaMark2, a score of below 45 is thought as a low-med set.
A score between 45-50 is an med-high set.
And a score between 50-60 (especially above 55) is thought to be a pretty high end set.

It took a lot of time and effort to collect and share all this info's!
please hit
button if it helps u!
If I'm wrong please corrret me then!
wish u all a very good day
Nicely done, definitely an interesting look at the not so mainstream Android devices.

Сheck SPEED BIN (aka PVS) with your OnePlus 2

Some users say that its a smartphone is not heated, others say it is very hot.
It depends on what you got 810 processor.
you need:
1) install AK kernel
2) install Synapse
3) reboot!!!
4) check SPEED BIN in Synapse

What is Speedbin/PVS? Can you explain more? I'm also using Synapse with AK.
I have A53 @ 0 and A57 @ 1.
Lower number means that more voltage is needed to certain hertz, and bigger number vice versa. So bigger number is cooler cpu.

I am not sure this is as accurate as the prior Speed Bins on other processors. I have had two OP2 phones and both had those same numbers as well. It makes sense that the higher power cores are higher quality, but it seems that all devices I have seen were binned like this.

Yes, It looks like that.
I still didn't understand!
the numbers reported as a53 & a57 pvs are generic and originate from the sys/module/clock_cpu_8994/parameters folder, in files a53speedbin with bit value = 0 and file a57speedbin with bit value = 1. im looking into other locations... if someone could run terminal emulator as SU and execute the command " dmesg | grep PVS " without quotes and busybox must be installed

the higher the number the higher the chips theoretical overclock potential and lower transistor voltage leak which translates into real world performance increases because the kernel has various voltage tables for the various quality levels of cpu's... thats about the gist of it... not an expert and this is by no means qualcomm official docs... just trying to shine some light and help the best i can
DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE PVS BIN. why you ask? why should i listen to this novice? well, PVS binning is only for custom made qualcomm CPUS, qualcomm normally uses a CPU design for 2 product cycle, eg 800, 801. the 801 was just the higger binned 800 which allowed them to be over clocked, from then they were binned again. stock arm cpus are built by samsung or TSMC, they are not binned and built with lower tolerances. custom cpus design by qualcomm have slightly higher tolerances. everyone will have a bin 0 a53 and bin 1 A57, purely because they need to be differentiated when made
So nothing special
I've read about PVS on exynos before. Previously it was correct that better values does mean it can tolerate better undervolts and overclocks but on Snapdragon, I'm not sure.

Honor 7 graphics GPU problem?

Hi! Suspecting a graphics problem.
So... I just bought this phone. I charged it and updated to 6.0, then installed my apps.
It seemd a bit sluggish when handling graphics, which made me test it with 3dmark. I ran SlingShot ES3.1 and got quite poor results in the graphics section. Physics were fine (CPU related, I guess). Screenshot below. The graphics score was 323 (in one review, which I cant link) and the reference score in app is 283. Mine is 71. I had nothing running background and the phone was recently restarted. What could be the reason?

As you may know, this SOC does perform well in multitasking but not so in single task and graphics. It's common to all Kirin SOC.
That said, I got 69 score and 1320 Physics, so pretty standard.
It's not a gamer GPU.

But the results surely should not be that bad? I mean, the graphics score I got was less than fourth of what I saw in different reviews. Only difference was, that the tests in reviews were ran with android 5.x still on board and I ran the test with 6.0 just installed. The futuremark test is standard.
My phone was mint condition. No programs on background. Nothing but the standard applicatins installed. Did not make a difference. I ran the test several times just to make sure (with reboots etc.). Socres were 66-71 (graphic score around 53-55).

Could even be different app versions. Unless you provide the reviews we'll be around endless speculation.
Having different kernel (5.1 vs 6.0.1) also makes a difference.

Question Google's first self made chip- Tensor's specs just leaked!

A well knowned tipster- Digital Chat Station declares that the new Tensor chip is all about octa-core.
However, Google usage a 2+2+4 core design. Means 2×2.8ghz power core and other 2×2.25ghz power core. Although there has a 4 cores of power consumption cores. Which is clocked at 1.8ghz.
Not only the CPU is strong but also Google will use here a Mali- G78 GPU, which is the best in class GPU that we're all see today.
Conclusion is, Google will optimised it at there best. For that it will provide the potential speed and features.

It's no Snapdragon...
Now we all know it's actually a member of Exynos 1080/2100 family with some Google's custom components... Someone said that the Tensor's code nunber was "e9855", while Samsung's flagship Exynos 2100 wss "e9840".

That can happen with any chipset in a Samsung.
It's a common and usually correctable issue.
However, for instance, the 20 Ultras had random heat sinks in use, the copper vapor phase ones ran cool, the graphene pad ones ran hot.
Personally though I wouldn't buy a Google phone or one without a SD card slot.

Unlikely especially given the ongoing chipset shortage which is only going to get worse.
Hold off for at least a year if you can. Firmware (R) and hardware issues dominate this year's releases... not a pretty picture.
