Need SMS App for sending long Messages as one message, not in parts - Galaxy S 4 Mini Themes and Apps

Hello!
I've installed CM11 on my girlfriends S4 Mini. So far everything's fine, but she's really angry because of a SMS problem. On the original firmware it was possible to send long messages as one "message bulb". Directly from the SMS app as well as over airdroid. Now with CM11 messages are splitted in 160 parts. No change with "SMS Messageing AOSP", "hangouts" or Airdroid. The "SMS Messaging AOSP" app is capable of showing long messages as one message, but viewed in airdroid (wich she uses frequently for having better overview, making backups etc..) they are still splitted up. I saw other messages she wrote on original firmware and they are very long. I think she was able to write up to 3 or 4 sms in one message, wich then of course cost accordingly. But it was possible and normal. I know that at some point SMS got transformed in MMS, wich is more expensive, but she's willing to pay more for the better overview in the history.
Is there any chance to achieve that with CM11?
Thanks

in sms app if u find it >> Click Menu > Settings > SMS Split .. and disable it
NOTE :
using cdma network will force the sms to be split according to talks here

What I did
Hi, I had that problem with my I9190, so I rooted the phone, also install the Xposed apk (you must to activate the framework before continue) and finally I use the allow long mms apk for Xposed, then I restarted the phone and now I can send up to 12 mms in one message.
I hope it can help you.

Sending sms to favourites

HI
Not long had my X10i, and so far very impressed. However, Im trying to find out how to send a text message to my favourites. I run a football prediction league, and have 13 members. On my old samsung phone, i was able to type one sms and send to my 'group' of 13 contacts.
I have sorted my favourites out, but cant send an sms to them all at once?
How do i do it?
Thanks.
not sure that you can send it to a full distribution list
the only way is to select one then click left button to add more contacts you have to do that each time

Download the app Handcent, and use it as your messenger service.

i think after sending first sms with all 13 contacts (manuell added recipients), you will automaticly create an entry in your sms list, with a group u looking for.
1. new message
1.1. add recipient
1.2. menu key --> add recipient
1.3. menu key --> add recipient
..
1.13 menu key --> add recipient
2. type text
3. send sms
after this you schould create a groupe entry in your sms list. now you can use this to send further sms to your football group.

yes, maybe some kind of code you can send to your operator/advertisement-sender which can stop the automatic messages, i know that kind of msgs sucks just find a way in google, i know different users experience that alot
You can download "SMS Popup" from the market. However you will need to manually configure it into "Privacy Mode" (or something similar). Once done, you will get a popup everytime you get a message, along with 3 options to "Open Message", "Delete" (without opening) or "Go to inbox".
I had the SMS POpup on my stock ROM but don't need it now on MIUI...
Thanks.
Are you sure it doesn't open the sms?
The android market page for this app reads:
NOTE: SMS Popup does mark message as "read"
so as far as the mobile carrier is concerned, the sms has been received & read, so it will still charge for those spam sms.
@mike,
pls refer to my previous post - the app opens the SMS by default - but once you go to settings and enable privacy mode, it won't read the msg. A message is not marked as 'Read' as long as it's in privacy mode and you don't specifically open it. (Even the LEDs will continue blinking till u don't open the message)
It's a free app, so u can download and check that out.
Thanks for the info
If your with vodafone phone the operator and they will ban the number from your sim

SMS popup is nice, but does it show a history of all the sms, like the stock sms app on A2.1 does?
Also, to avoid duplicate notifications I've unchecked the "notifications" in the stock sms app, but it no longer shows incoming messages in the messages log. is this a bug, or is this related to sms popup "hijacking" the sms?
TIA

[Q] SMS apk - what it's name?

Does anybody know what is exact name of SMS apk in Verizon's ROM? Actually - I have a problem with SMS sending due to number formating, and would like to search for solution in apk settings or apk itself.
The problem is following: if I want to send SMS using international number format, for example +380-55-555-55-55 or +38055555555 - I have an error. But if i send to the same number in format 0-55-555-55-55 or 0555555555 (just remove +38) - everything is working fine. The problem is because our operators transfers the full phone number in international format with SMS (including +38), and there is no way to change it. So, when I receive SMS from somebody (even I sent him a message to 055-555-55-55 format) - I just can not reply him, because reply goes automatically to international formatted number. Of course, I tried to play with Assist Dial settings and switching it off.
Go SMS Pro works properly. And I would use it, but can not because of the way Go makes their products - there is a lot of adverts and tryings to sell me some of their products. All the way.
Any ideas please? Or the name of apk?
Thanks a lot in advance!

[Q] Kitkat issue - Duplicate SMS using 3rd party (non-default) apps

Hi everyone,
I've noticed something since I updated my phone to kitkat 4.4.2 (it's a Z1 compact).
Whenever I use another app than my default app to send SMS, eg. I'm using SMSPopup, Glowfly or event another "real" SMS app along with my default one (let's say hangouts or Handcent), I have duplicate sent SMS, that means I have twice my sent messages in my list. I didn't have this issue on JB.
I tried to tweak access/read/write permissions via AppOps but the result is still the same. I now have to use the same app for popups/Notifications and SMS. Other SMS apps are useless because they duplicate the text messages.
Does anyone has the same problem ? How can I fix this ?
Thanks a lot !

Make sure this is set correctly:
1. From your home screen, open Settings and head into “More…” under Wireless & Networks.
2. If running Android 4.4, you should see an option for “Default SMS app.”
3. Tap on that.
4. A window should appear with all apps that could be a potential SMS app.
5. Tap the one you want to use.
(This list is a copy/paste from an external link, DroidLife, which I'm not allowed to link to due to my scarce forum acitivty )
Sorry for a late answer and hope you get, or maybe you've already gotten, the issue resolved.

[Q] Restoring Deleted Texts

Hi All,
I'm new here, clearly. I did a fair amount of searching (albeit I may have overlooked the one thread to answer my question), but I need some help. I'm not familiar with the dev side of phones, nor am I very educated by any means.
I recently somehow deleted all of my texts on my vwz galaxy s4 32gb blackmist. I can see that when I open a contact and view the history - the text messages still exist there. I tried the Dr. Fone app by wondershare (and paid for it). Didn't work. I just rooted my phone to see if that would help, and while successful in the rooting, still have found that I can not revive my dead texts.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
Much thanks,
Matt
I too have deleted text messages from my phone when clean flashing ROMs. To restore, download the Verizon Messaging app from the Play Store. Set is as your default messaging app, and refresh the messages. Then open your regular messaging app and it should update with the old text messages.
After this you can uninstall the Verizon app. I use Hangouts for text messaging and for me it's a 3 step process: run Verzion meesaging, then load the standard Messaging apk, and then finally run Hangouts.
Good Luck!

Thanks so much for the advice; I did download the vzw messaging app and set it as default. I don't see a "refresh" for this app - but have toyed around and think I've tried everything to no avail.
I'm trying my best here to not sound like an idiot - but I'm not sure how to 'refresh.' I still do see quite a bit of messages in the history of each contact.
Do i need to go into settings to make default app or simply just set it when it asks?
Any more advice?
Thanks again.
That app seems to imply that it only lets you restore messages that have been synced with Verizon in the last 90 days. That makes more sense. I didn't think they kept a user-accessible log of all SMS messages (could be wrong).
