Guys as we've all seen and heard about the ridiculous llawsuit between apple and Samsung. We've all seen the repercussions and fall out of these frivolous lawsuits. One major annoyance is the aptly named "apply autocorrect patent" block and removal of autocorrect in the note 3 stock kb in kk. Here's how to fix this annoyance
Use root explorer or root browser
1. System
2. Find Csc folder and open it
3. Find feature.xml
4. Open feature.xml as editable text
5. Scroll down near the bottom to the Sip section which is the keyboard commands controller area
6. Change tthis line ...
<CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent> true </CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent>
To
<CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent> false </CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent>
To add normal auto correct back add this line by going to thr end of the line above and pressing enter to create a new empty space then copy this line in
<CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection_DA> false </CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection_DA>
Hit menu button after you've made proper changes and double checked everything is correct
hit save
then exit
*if using root explorer a feature.xml.bak file be created just move this to your Sd card then reboot
this probably won't apply if your using a custom rom as I'm sure most devs probably removed this block and added autocorrect back into their roms...it's already been done for you in firekat....any devs that want to use this you know the same method just with notepad ++

Dude i don't know how I feel about Swiftkey anymore after they ditched our app we paid for and made it free then pay by theme then didn't give us all the themes lol ?? I'm not a fan of that but it's a stellar Keyboard it's no wonder samsung supposedly base their kb on Swiftkey foundation...how true this is or not idk but i can def see it since they use stylus beta as the backbone of s pen input in kb

Yeah but for me sk has always been more accurate than stock. The only thing I like stock for its the numbers on top. Wish sk would add or we could modify to add then just no reason to use any other

Swiftkey has the number row on top now after latest update...i think it's a great kb just not a fan of the paid to free deal

So couldn't just update had to uninstall then install.. Oh well at least with cloud my stuff saved.. Anyway thanks again. Now have the number row ? ohh better emoji with it as well lol

Just make sure everything matches like the other csc codes and the formatting is correct...I've done this on 6 separate kk builds for different devices so i know it works

Dude what are you talking about....the lines are blatantly spelled out in the bit you copy and pasted...so what exactly are you wanting to know? The csc codes are exactly as noted, already changed and modded in my roms. ...you an do it yourself with this method if you use the stock rom which is why the method is here lol...but if you can't find the Sip section of the feature.Xml tho man maybe you shouldn't be tinkering Lmao hahaha

NOW FOR THE SKINNY!
So, most of us, Im pretty sure, think that the wallpaper on the lock screens suck. I was curious about if it was possible to change it and the answer I came up with was yes. Big thanks to Cy_ni_c for the heads up on this.
First of all you want to grab m10 tools.
Once you have that downloaded, open it up. Now you want to get the image ready that youre wanting as your wallpaper. To make things easier on yourself, make three copies. The image needs to be set EXACTLY this way:
1. Image needs to be resized to EXACTLY 540x960. You can do this in any image editor.
2. Flip the image upside down.
3. The images MUST be PNG format.
Once you have this done, you want to grab the IdleScreen_Weather.apk out of the rom youre usings zip folder. Its located in system/apps. Once you get the apk, you want to open up m10 and click load file. Navigate and select the IdleScreen_Weather.apk.
Once this loads, you want to click the tab that says m10 Files. At the bottom of the screen, youll see where it says Decode Images, make sure you check that box.
You want to double click the Lockscreen_weather_bg.m10. It will ask if you want to decompile it. Click yes. At this point, youll be brought to the next tab which is Editor.
From here you want to expand until you see Textures. Under there you will see three spots labeled Texture. Click that and it will bring up an image to the right. Right click on this image and click "Show in Explorer". You will see three png files in here. You want to replace each one with the images you created earlier. This is important though. Make sure you copy the name of each file youre replacing EXACTLY. Im not responsible for any errors you make on renaming.
Once you get all three of the images replaced, go back to start and then save .apk Make sure to use the same name.
Now you can either push this through ADB or just place the apk onto your SD card. If youre using a root explorer, which is how I do it cause its just easier, you want to copy the apk into the system/app folder. You want to make a backup incase you run into any issues. Once you get your edited apk inside of the system/app navigate to the file and long press and go to permissions then set them as follows.
Read Write Execute
Owner: X X 0
Group: X 0 0
Others: X 0 0
Once your permissions are fixed, you want to reboot. When you reboot let it marinate a bit. Let it load up the weather before you unlock it. While this particular method is for the weather screen, you can do this with the Friend stream, stocks or any other one you pick up. The overall method will be the same, file names will change. Over all this is simple for even the biggest of us noobs, so now take the time to hit the thanks button and enjoy your new custom lockscreen
Tips:
If youre having issues with the picture that you chose, thanks to Black00StangGT, theres a possible fix. Open up your image editor and change the color sync rgb profile to the generic rgb profile.
If youre still having issues and youve tried all other things, thanks to PrsnlCrcl, theres a possible fix. Before you save, zip align the apk. More on that HERE.

If youre wanting to make anything disappear from your lockscreen like the clock or date, try this out.
Find /system/apps/idlescreen_base.apk and open it in the m10 editor.
Once open navigate to Lockscreen_time.m10/0x0dc10c5e/lockscreen_time/timeline.time_fade/text.lockscreentime_ and where you see where it says Visible=1(bool) if you change this to 0 it will be hidden. You can do this with each of the items there. Remember in binary 0=off and 1=on.
Once you make the changes, go back and save it. Push with ADB or replace in a root explorer like normal. Reboot and enjoy.

I use the normal wallpaper lockscreen personally, but l love an unprovoked flame.

Im posting Modded APK's. Ill post screenshots here, but you download them from my site so that I dont have to continuously edit the OP. Plus since these work on the Bolt as well as the 3VO, Im not going to waste time updating links on two threads. I know you liked the pic, but I had to crop it and if you look at the pic I posted and the one you posted, its no longer centered because I wanted to get as much in the screen so that the weather doesnt cover it up.

I downloaded one from your page and it just kept cycling through the 3 pictures and never locked into one or showed the weather. It was one of the beach scenes. I used root explorer to add it.
Any idea's? Also changed the permissions as per the 1st post. I assume the x is what needs to be checked.
I use GOKeyboard With the pad plugin. It's free and themeable also! What are your favorites?

I've been using Swype beta tablet edition, and using the SPen to do my Swyping. The smaller keyboard is very unobtrusive, leaving a lot of room for conversation threads in messaging, or text boxes anywhere else, and the SPen makes it really accurate, and super fast. So much fun. I think I get funny/curious looks when I use it to take notes in class though. Haha. Swyping with the SPen is actually faster than my real handwriting, so it's working great for me taking notes as well.

I've been using Smart Keyboard for almost a year on my HTC Inspire, Skyrocket, and now my Note. Every month or so I make the rounds and retry the popular ones (stock, Go, swype, swift, etc) and whatever else is new, but I always come back to Smart.

How do you get the swype beta to install over our default swype version on the ATT note? also, can I keep that beta on forever or it's a trial sort of thing.

You have to root and use something like root explorer too remove the old apk and lib files, then you well be able to install the beta. And I'm not sure if will last forever, but Swype had always between free, so I'll just install the latest version when this one becomes obsolete.
You should be able to find a decent enough tutorial somewhere if you need help with uninstalling the old one...I could look it up and explain, but I'm on my phone and it would take more effort than you searching for it.
OK, got bored in class, so I decided to write it up quick. First, I assume you're rooted. Then, using root explorer or some file manager that allows you to see root, go to system > app > delete the Swype apk. Then, go into system > lib > find and delete the file that starts with libswype......etc. Then you should be able to go to Swype's website and download the installer for the beta.

thanks, I found a tutorial on freezing it and installing and unfreezing or something along those lines, but where is the swype tablet edition? the one I found on the swype official page doesn't seem to make any distinction.

I just applied for the beta, and apparently the installer just detects the Note as a tablet and installs the tablet version.

update, nvm it stopped working after reboot -.-
I use Swype when I want a swiping keyboard, but it's currently broken on the Note and I have no idea if it will ever get fixed.
When I just want a standard soft keyboard, I've found Thumb Keyboard to be my favorite.

I'm brand new to android but am really loving Swype. So far I'm probably a bit slower with it than a stock keyboard, but I can tell I can definitely get real fast with it. Plus it feels super smooth with the s-pen and people will definitely be taking notice when you're swype texting like that with the stylus.

Then, using root explorer or some file manager that allows you to see root, go to system > app > delete the Swype apk. Then, go into system > lib > find and delete the file that starts with libswype......etc. Then you should be able to go to Swype's website and download the installer for the beta.

Mine also didn't work after reboot. I uninstalled it. Then renamed "Swype.odex" in system\app to "Swype.odex.bak" and re-installed. Works now

Infuse 4G ICS keyboard is so damn awesome!!! Lightweight and still so very comfortable. Yes, took it from my Infuse, and it works perfectly on Note too.
Simply backup the existing LatinIME.apk to say .bak, and copy the one from this zip into /system/app folder, and you are good to go.

The only apps (that usually appear in the drawer) left are
contacts, phone, messaging. settings, setup guide, gallery, camera, play, xperia play, explorer, downloads, music, pspocket, superuser
You can't even change the wallpaper or change the horrible pink/purple color Also no TTS.
i understand this is a v1 release and addons are coming but imho this should be mentioned on the OP.

I used windiff to compare this rom and the main differences are all the apps including ones that should be left are removed 6 edits to build.prop and a framework change.
You are raging over nothing i am just merely stating that this rom is not that different. so the original creator deserve the thanks.
SD Card doesn't even auto mount < bug
Has horrible purple color < yuck
Really Fast < NICE
Link2SD < doesn't work just like with NXT rom.

Thirdly my ROM was coming out before yours however i have a issue which i am fixing. check "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30184872&postcount=30" you will see the date is before yours. I had to go job center so have not fixed the issue yet.

Although i am not an Apple fan, the truth is that i do like the new signal dots they implemented instead of the signal bars.
Is there anyway to make this possible for a cm10.2 based rom on gs3?
I've already seen that it has been achieved in nexus (post), and i thought i could ask if anyone is willing to do it for our gs3.

It's possible but quite unlikely on a cm based rom. But hey i'm no themer so I can't be 100% sure that it's not possible on a cm rom.

Dead easy really. You just need the time and the images. ...and to use vr-theme. I don't have the time myself, but who knows, one day I may look at it.

Ok i've flashed it and it really works. The thing is that the dots appear only on stock theme.
I think i should address my request to the themer of my preffered theme, himself.

Yes because we only changed stock icons... if theme you have is flashable, sometimes it only replaces images. Some themes change xml so original images remain but point to new images
Theme engine themes also have new images

Really we need to look at layout xml but because they need decompiling, we cannot change a single line that may move icons in status bar.
This means we must flash entire xml file which means - theme becomes largely rom specific

Like I said, it can never be universal if you need xml layout changes. So it's either use the crappy one I posted or someone has to apply it to whatever ROM they want it on manually, Meaning they must decompile SystemUI.apk and alter xml once for each ROM version / release.

I am relatively new to android development and as for now i can only flash mods made by others. I sure want to learn and try making something on my own but it is not the easiest thing to do...
Sorry for going offtopic but I would like to ask you something, as you're the only one so far that has actually helped me: i used to have a webOS device and ever since i'am on android i miss the webOs multitasking with the horizontal windows... I have already opened a post about that but i haven't got any answers.
I have found a mod that involves compiling and de-compiling and i really want to try even though i haven't done anything like that before. The mod is about sense style recents window and concerns cm10.1, so i dont think i can apply it to my cm10.2 based rom.
i would like to ask you if you're aware of any way to implement this feature in cm10.2... Maybe it is easier to just "rotate" the existing recents menu and make it appear in portrait mode, (horizontal like in landscape mode)? I don't know if it is possible, but considering that you are an expert i take the liberty to ask for your opinion.

So far, I've only had time to test one specific module: Wanam Exposed. There are some things that don't work within Wanam that I've found. Trying to change the color of status bar text (wifi, time, etc) does not work.

Does it look and feel like the old 10.1 multiwindow? If you are unsure about how it looked, could you post a screen shot? I just don't want it to work like the "floating windows" app where everything looks too small and distorted.
I would appreciate it. I'm on the fence about returning it and just picking my old 10.1 back up. This and the new sNote are about as annoying as you can get. Since I don't have a choice (yet) on snote, does the new one work ok with this mod?

It's different from old 10.1. I installed it, it's the same way as it is on new Note but you can add additional apps to the list. It was the same way on Note 8, but developers here added cascading option, similar to old 10.1. I'm sure it's only question of time to get that option on new 10.1.

Unhappy? Not me. I like this tablet as-is. I had original 10.1 (just sold), now have 8 and new 10.1. I just said it's different. With any 2 apps side by side plus any app as a floating window, I'm happy.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back...
Here is the one that I am using, not sure if it is the same as the one described in the previous post but it works, install it, enable it reboot & enjoy.

Was planning on rooting today but probably won't get to it between work and school. But thanks to your help here, it will be the first thing I do when I get a chance.
One thing I noticed with your pic was there is no icon to shrink or expand the window like it has the old 10.1 MWM. The icons appear on every app that is activated to use the mod. How do you control shrinking and expanding? does it begin with the new method of drawing the square?

When you tap on the blue dot in the center (dividing line) you will get the options that you are used to seeing.
