notification light - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Pulse notification light

The moto E has a pulse notification light.
:good:
it alerts us for missed calls and texts.
this can be turned off.
but it glows even during incoming calls(not required/annoying).
how to disable this?

You can download the Motorola Notification Light widget from Play Store and switch off the light. Find the app here.
Don't know if this would help you but you may want to check this out.

Is it possible to change the color of light ?

Not possible to change the color

yes. use moto guide module. there is option to use led while charging. But I found the white colour very distracting.

Pulse Notification Light Color
I guess the color of Pulse Notification Light remains white for all the variants of Moto E.
Thanks to LG developers for bringing in some good ideas like this notification light which was later implemented by Motorola for its device!

No led flash notification in Gingerbread?

Hi all, I've recently updated my gf's x10 to gingerbread. It's working a treat but she's giving me grief because she has no flashing led for sms or missed call notifications! Crazy woman, never happy lol. Is there a way to switch it back on, its not in the display settings, or has it been removed from gingerbread?
Thanks in advance.

For me, I have LED notifications in GB.
It flashes white for a brief moment when a new notification is registered in the statusbar and then the LED starts flashing green.
But the screen has to be OFF.
Also it's cool, because the LED flashes for notifications even while charging!

I just checked her phone.....it is working! Idiot that she is lol

[Q] Custom vibrations for notifications

I dont think this has been asked as a thread but correct me if im wrong.
I know you can set custom vibrations for calls and groups etc but when i do that the notification vibrate is the normal constant vibrate. Any way to change this via an app or anything??
You can use lightflow app. You can set custom vibration, led notification, ring tone. etc for each notification.

[Q] notification light red instead of flashing blue

hi. everytime i receive a notification, instead of the flashing blue status light.. i get a steady red light. any idea what could be causing this?
Do you have any led apps that change the color of your led? Or do you have the red charging led indicator notification on?

no extra apps for the LED. and yes i do have the box checked so that it lights up when it's charging.. but my phone is not charging.
Is there a way to change the colors around? I would like to change my notification to green instead of blue

Light flow on the play store, only bug with that is that a green led stays on when you turn off the screen, but I hear the dev is working on it.

turns out the steady red led light happens when there's a facebook notification. is this the same for everyone?
I get blue for texts, red for everything else

I've noticed the same thing. When I get a Facebook notification, it is a solid red light. Other notifications get a flashing blue light. I don't think I've gotten a single notification that uses a green light yet.
Light Flow doesn't work that well for me for some reason, though. I've uninstalled it for now, but it looks like they're working on it for both Jelly Bean and the US GSIII, so hopefully an upcoming update will get us set up.

LED Notification Colors

Is it possible to control led notifier colors from within apps like go sms and gmail? I know light flow doesnt work on gs3.
Thanks!
I know you can because some of the customer ROM's allow you to select different colors. I'm sure an app will appear soon to allow us this function.

Light Flow works, but you need to be rooted.
Does light flow has fading (breathing) effect?

doesn;t have that option
I don't plan to root so that means I will never be able to control led notifier colors?
You can control GoSMS LED notifications from within it's Settings menu.
Open App>Settings>Notification Settings>Default Notification Settings
Scroll down to:
Blink LED
LED Color
LED blink rate

You can use lightflow. It is not unstable, it just has a bug which enables talkback. You do not need to root your phone for lightflow.
To get around it, go to settings->apps->all and disable google text-to-speech and samsung tts.

Custom LED Notifications?

One of the best features of Samsung is their use of RGB LED's for notifications. I was sad to see that there is not customization of the LED and was wondering what my options are? I have ROOT access with locked bootloader and found a few apps (LightFlow is one) in the play store but they seem not compatible with the Note 2. Does anyone have any tips or methods to get custom LED notifications going? I know I am not the only one who wants a color other than blue for all notifications.
Light Manager.

Nice works pretty well, thanks! The LED is not that great at making colors but it at least open it up to a few more options for personalization.
Light Flow that I purchased when I had my GNex also works, though the colors are a little off from the Gnex, at least for me. Orange is showing up as yellow.
