[UB][ROM] Carbon 4.4.4 [KTU84P] [HOVER] [12-07-14] - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I'm currently considering creating alternative CWM builds. Till then, use this[Well Abhinav didn't update his ROM for 2 weeks now bringing out a new nightly

You're right. I took all the repoes from CarbonDev and CarbonDevXperia with the exception of the device tree. The kernel was taken from CarbonDevXperia.
I shall be including a build guide anyway.

There is an app on the Play Store that can download many CM apps, including Trebuchet. I believe the app is called CM Apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maartendekkers.cmapps
Oh and regarding the small calling pad you were saying was missing
The feature (OmniROM's non intrusive callUI)was removed from Carbon on 17 June since it was freezing up the currently open app. It was replaced by Slim's non intrusive CallUI, which is not enabled by default. To enable it go to Dialer -> settings and enable incoming call in background.
In Slim, this will just put the call in the notification bar and to access it you'd need to pull it down, but when combined with Hover, it takes on a life of its own, and behaves very similarly to the OmniROM one, but without the freezes.
This is why I love Carbon: The features randomly thrown together interact in beautiful ways.

Thanks for ur reply bro!!! was very helpful!! :good: n pressed thanks too

Really nice rom with the perfect set of features. I'm especially fond of lockscreen notifications, as it's one of the most useful things ever imo.
No dialer lag at all after a day of usage.
Nice battery life.
Thanks for bringing this to our device!:thumbup:

Found a little bug
Just found a little bug I'd like to report to contribute a little:
When music is played and the home button is pressed, the played track stops and the main volume is set to default and volume has to be toggled a few times to revert that.
Also, the track names aren't scrolling in neither the widget or notification drawer.
Nothing too serious but worth sharing.
Tried it with Apollo and Sony Walkman app
Catlog attached or available online here.
EDIT:
Found the culprit. It was a restored Nova launcher backup which seemed to have messed up. No trouble with media playback since another setup of Nova was done!!!

Strangely I was unable to replicate the bug. Where did you get your Apollo and Walkman? I'll test with those too.

I got my hands on an HTC One yesterday and decided to port my project from the Nexus 4 (mako). Haven't had a chance to do screenshots yet but let me know how it works for you. bareBones is a constant improvement-in-progress.
I have not stripped any ROM control features from AOKP, so things like Ribbon and Navigation Ring are still available. Just want to provide a basic groundwork for people to customize the way they like it.

Alright cool, ill let you know how the battery holds up.
And understood, one thing to note is that all accents are in blue (4.3) instead of white (4.4) on the loading screen etc.

Theme Chooser is available under Settings. KitKat White is included as an option.
Will test out.
just setting it up now.
bugs-
1. the torch works, but it won't work for my app "flash alerts pro". I like that app for making a flash when I get a call / txt. But I don't see the test flashes when I try to set up the app.
2. anytime i download an app, once it's done it says "google play services is not responding". I think that's because I'm using PA's stock G-apps because I wanted most of the google apps instead of none like this rom gave. Is there a better option you recommend for Gapps?
everything else seems pretty responsive / fast so far, i'll keep you posted. I'm hoping I can get this flash thing figured out, I want to keep this ROM. PA beta's have been causing me lot's of problems, this seems to be the best 4.4 google edition rom i've found so far out of the 3 i've tried.
edit: also, how would i be able to get the volume controls to switch were you can change all 3 by hitting the settings button at the end of the volume bar. (phone, music, alarm) volumes
will try thanks......... which kernel it comes with?

it has all the features of an aokp rom though
---------- Post added at 09:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:43 AM ----------
rom doesnt like custom kernels, tried two different ones (lunar and teamseven). Leads to blackscreens (randomly), delayed screen on, and random shutdowns on them.
That looks smooth rom.
Anyway to volume2wake and swipe down to sleep?
Regards..
Does this rom have Halo?

let it settle, a couple of charges in and the battery stabilizes. And why the hell is google keyboard using 87% of the battery
I guess I can live with this battery life, lol. 90% reading in Wattpad, but some Twitter, some video watching, little bit of Hangouts. Data on the whole time. I just connected to WiFi before taking screenshot, though WiFi was on the entire time. Was in a low reception building. Stock kernel and settings. This thing is great.

Greetings - I found this ROM runs quite well, and has some nice options.
Still having some odd keyboard issues - gesture typing doesn't display, although works. Long press on keys also work, but similarly nothing is displayed (other than the kb dimming)
Enjoy!

No problem. I really wanted an 8" tablet with an msm8974 processor and this was all there was, but, man, Samsung doesn't do software.
Thanks for the offer to help (hopefully that was a general offer!). I think I've fixed this specific problem, just waiting on a build on another device to make sure I didn't somehow screw it up (unfortunately, the fix is in packages/inputmethods/LatinIME so the change will affect all devices).
I don't see a download link for gapps. Any pictures? Coming from an other ROM which -local- way is suggested to restore data like mail settings if I do not use cloud services? TB?

Feel free to use whatever gapps you wish. CM's, PA's 0-day...
I spose I can take some screenshots.
Mail settings... I never really figured out how to transfer, at least not for my corporate email. For gmail, well that's simple. For my corporate email, I had to re-setup the account every time... I couldn't figure out how to backup the settings with TB even. Just a user/pass and the server... so I guess not a big deal, but a bit annoying.

Yes clean flashing. Sould add that other cameras than standard save video recordings.
New build in the OP, new host as well.... my old hosting is going away.
I found the camera would take video from the back cam, if you turned it down to 720p. Also, the vid cam that comes with the 'full' PA Gapps package seems to work fine, although I couldn't find a resolution setting there.
Keyboard etc fixes from crpalmer baked in.

Sorry folks, I don't blind build. I only develop for devices I own, which I can test on.
However, if there is CM then other ROM's can fairly easily be ported. Just a matter of someone with the device stepping up.
In the correct device area for 'just' the 12.2, there isn't much. I haven't seen CM yet. But I would like to someday build or port and help out others with the 12.2.
Are these builds still going?

[MOD][Xposed] Xtended NavBar

Xtended NavBar
Xtended NavBar is an Xposed Framework module that adds an extra functionality to the navigation bar.
Swipe from the edges to change to Music player or Quick settings. Swipe back to show the navigation buttons again.
In the donate version you can also show favorite apps.
Playstore | Xposed Repo
Compatibility:
This module was developed for AOSP based roms. Don't expect it to work on heavily modified non AOSP based roms like Sense, Touchwiz.
Should be compatible with some other navigation bar customization modules.
It's recommended to do a nandroid backup if you're using the app for the first time.

EDIT: Yeah, doesn't work on that either, I think both are based on CM11 though if that makes a difference. Also, I had changed the choice of navigation bar buttons, would that matter?]
I use menu, home, back and long pressing on back brings up recents.
If it helps, My face unlock also didn't show when I disabled the nav bar, when I enabled it again, back came the face unlock.
In other views...I wish xposed would go on the play store and have integration so your choice of modules could be saved under your google account.
I wish this was open source...
I really would like to use this one!
Very cool, nice job! I'm excited to use this.
Edit - ditto on the open source request.

Great idea. Like djsubterrain said, doesn't work on carbon ROM. Cant wait till it does though. Any chance you could upload it to the xposed app also?

Yes, i will do that.

any reason why you obfuscate a free xposed module?

Glad to hear it
You've done a better job than what I planned actually. I was going to have a button on the very left of the bar
When you pressed the button the Home button would become Play, Back would become Rewind and so on
When you pressed it again it would turn back
Never even thought if swiping :good:

I was thinking about made it open source and i think i will in a near future.
One idea I had for it to stop accidental swipes would be to pinch to toggle a lock on the present page, good idea?
Well thank you! It's not that I want to copy anything but you know the power of Xposed shouldn't be underrated
Thank you!
thank you very much, works perfectly on my Galaxy S4-i9505 Android 4.4.2
You can add the Spanish language?

I think it's already difficult to open sometimes, so i don't believe this is a problem. I might add this anyways in a future update.

[Xposed][APP][1.0.1][ICS-LP]SwipeBack2 - Finally back alive

Download link is in the thread, do not use the "Download" section in XDA DEVDB, my network has some problems with it for now.
After nearly one year's silence, SwipeBack is now back alive, known as SwipeBack2.
SwipeBack2 is the continue of SwipeBack. It has still the basic feature, swipe-to-return gesture, inspired by the library SwipeBackLayout written by @ikew0ng(a.k.a. IssacWong, 碎星iKe, 碎iKe). It provides a smooth, nature-like and highly customizable swipe-to-return gesture. This module is initially a wrapper of SwipeBackLayout in Xposed, and was welcomed widely by Xposed users. Gradually it has gained much new features that is more than SwipeBackLayout.
If you have installed the old SwipeBack, please uninstall it first, and then you can install SwipeBack2
Features:
* Swipe-to-return gesture
* Per-activity settings which means you are able to customize settings on <strong>each page of each app</strong>
* Experimental hacks for Lollipop (may not work, use with caution, do not turn it on globally)
* More experimental features are coming in future releases.
Note that SwipeBack2 is now only a rewrite and a port to Lollipop (but it still works on ICS/JB/KK). It has many work to-do, as:
* Pure-gesture mode (disable scrolling effects, enables compatibility with apps that consist of Fragments but not Activities, and can work with Browsers)
* Fully-costomizable trigger area (at <strong>any</strong> position on the edge, to fix compatibility with apps that has a gesture like drawers already)
* Automatic bug report and crash log submitter
* More (<strong>advices are always welcome)
SwipeBack2 is free software released under the terms of GNU GPLv3. Source code available at https://github.com/PaperAirplane-Dev-Team/SwipeBack
Changelog
1.0.2:
- Fix icons
- Add ability to show a settings shortcut to the current app activity in notif bar
This is a minor release. We will go to fix several bugs in the next few weeks
1.0.1:
- Fix crashes in main app UI
- Fixes for apps with wallpaper

FAQs:
Q: Why renamed to SwipeBack2?
A: Because SwipeBack2 is completely rewritten, and is refactored to have a better stability and flexibility. And another reason is, that SwipeBack (us.shandian.swipeback) is blacklisted by Alipay because of the unsecure SwipeBack, so I just renamed it to SwipeBack2 (info.papdt.swipeback), hoping that it will not be blacklisted any more.
Q: Would you add feature X / fix bug X?
A: Feel free to send emails or open issues on GitHub page. I may not have time to reply to you all, but I will take a look at bug reports and feature requests and have the resonable ones implemented in new releases.
Q: SwipeBack is great! Do you accept donations?
A: Well, not now.

Not for me, works as it should. Everything fine. Just have to experiment a bit with the Lollipop Feature, few Apps don't like it as stated in the App.
Ty!
apps loaded well but cannot change settings any of the app "unfortunaly swipeback 2 has stopped" please fix it
using in note 2 phantom 13 ROM
Cannot get it working on a Nexus 5 with CM12, I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong but I don't think so. Just installed, enabled it on Xposed and restarted. It's not CAF, so it may be fault of the rom. What android and rom are you using?
EDIT:
Just disabled every other module and it's working now. I will try to find which one is causing the problem and report it because it may be useful to someone.
Works fine expect one bug - on Lollipop when I go to the task manager after swipe back an app it shows the launcher screen as the thumbnails for the swiped back app.
Works great on LG G2 XenonHD 5.0.2:good:
Fantastic Modul, easy to use. Just awesome. Thank you.

Galaxy S5 G900F CM12 Fusion ROM
good to see new version thanks for continuing this module
Sent from LG Optimus G
Im glad someone revived this amazing module ... please keep it updated ... i will keep giving feedback and any bugs if i find on this thread
Edit 1 Bugs-
1. While swiping back on Whatsapp it goes back perfectly from the Chat screen to the Chat list. But while Swiping back on other apps like Gallery or Instagram. It doesnt swipe back. It goes to Home Screen.
2.After Swiping back the Recent app page shows wrong thumbnails .. it shows the Home screen as thumbs instead of App last state. (Screenshot Attached)
3.Also after restart i got a com.location.google has stopped ... i may have said the term wrong .. but it was something regarding Location.
4. SB2 force closes if Global settings option is pressed.
Notes:
I have unistalled old Swipeback and Freshly Installed this.
I love this app and will continue to send feedback to make it best.

Been waiting for this module to work, thx for it. Unfortunately there are some bugs, the Gmail animation is fine but the rest are broken with in the status bar, like in the video https://vimeo.com/123755651 (nexus 4 stock 5.0.1 and Franco kernel) . Keep up the good work

Dear LinhPhi9x94,
Thank you very much for BlurOS Release2!
Cool build !!!
Looks interesting. Is this ROM based on CM?
Can't log in to my Google account during setup, if I skip signing in it advances to the groovy blue/purple Blur logo on white background with the network speed and battery logo at top right corner but can't get past here... secret?
OK now, fourth time was the winner with a few manual reboots.
Very nice fresh look, unique.
I like it. Good job.
Does this ROM actually use 3.10 kernel?
Can we flash supersu 2.65 or above for this rom as superuser is a bit uncertain for some apps and is required to ask again and again after every reboot
Edit : supersu is working
Customization KILLS !!!
Just installed the rom via TWRP 3.0.2. The following are my comments:
♦ The customization is simply awesome *Almost every customization from every kind of rom out there is present inbuilt* Awesome work by the BlurOs team ! (P.S I love lockscreen blur, its present)
* The default wallpaper sucks though
* Camera : Snap Camera (better pictures than sultan's, my opinion)
* Root is inbuilt
* Performance is excellent. The off screen gestures are pretty snappy
* The gallery app is quicker than most
* Battery life will be updated in a day or two
* Addictive Rom ! Do try it people !
Awesome work !! Best rom I've flashed till date !! ♥in it !!
BUG :
# The system update says there is no internet connection, even when the phone has one !
Last time I tried there were some Viet characters/apps. Is it all English now?

If you're a fan of how IOS looks, then this is the perfect ROM for you.
This has the CMTE theme engine installed and has a 4 pre-installed themes you can pick from, one of them is a dark theme which I'm very happy about.
I'm going to keep this ROM on my phone for a few days to see how I like it. I never thought I'd stick with a ROM that replicates the look of iOS, but it's a very interesting idea and It's very refreshing compared to all the stock looking ROMs that are available.
Also, in additition to looking so different from all the other ROMS out there, it has a ton of settings and options that most major and minor roms have, anything you can imagine really.
Edit:
Only downside i've found so far is that there's no way to disable the Capacitive Button Lights.
Edit2:
Can't seem to delete Gapps from the ROM. Un-install them through Titanium backup, but they reinstall themselves after a reboot. Anyone have any ideas?

i installed opengapps as part of the blurOS install process - my regular filters (include/exclude) and things worked well
no major issues. privacy settings, themes work well. Minor issue - phone calls sometimes cannot be picked using the circular green/red buttons and i had to swipe down the notification area to accept calls. Also, the default theme background is white + foreground text also white. Changing to another theme fixed that issue
Hello, what kernel you can try with this rom?
hey guys im getting error executing binary, unable to mount.
im currently using multirom with cm13 on primary and cm12 on secondary.

thanks

The ROM comes with the gaps bre-baked, which is why it's so big. I was trying to delete them so I could use MicroG to immitate gapps, but not actually have any gapps on my phone. But the normal gapps kept getting reinstalled when I rebooted the phone.
I installed rom yesterday. I'm liking the customization provided. Also I feel audio output is far better than all other ROMs i tried. Thanks. I will post my battery review later
