App request camera control - Samsung Gear Fit

I would love to be able to control the camera on my phone with my Fit. Kind of like a remote trigger.

Which the app?

A GoPro app would be awesome...

I'd buy a camera control app too. Great Idea. Selfies for everyone!!! xD uhauhuhaua :good::good::good:

Google Wear watches have this camera control. Does it support only for shooting? Dunno, but it would be enough for me and my Gear Fit.

I would also pay for it!!!

I would pay for that also. Would make sense to do that.

Yeah i would LOVE an app like this. I have been looking all day for an app that can do this but had no luck and after reading this i am now bein gled to believe an app of this type does not exist.

I'd also pay for this feature Wish I knew how to make apps

They are talking about Gear Fit Launcher on Apps from GP for Gear Fit
thread and using with Tasker. Maybe you solve it with this. I didn't understood how to use Gear Fit Laucher and if using Tasker, do I have to root my phone; not interesting about it becouse it is powered by KNOX.

Gear Fit Laucher on Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.pognante.android.gearfitlauncher

No need to root

Hello, you can control your camera by Gear Fit using GF Launcher + Tasker shorcut. No root needed
And you don't need to turn on your smartphone screen, just open GF Launcher, click on your Camera app shortcut and then click on your Task shortcut.
I've created a post with this in General:

Still not working on SM-G900H. GF Launcher succeed, Tasker failed. Tasker is not working on unroot S5.

Thank you. It started work at first time. And after "Naming Sequence" value "Chronological" the next picture have new name; not overwriting the first/ old.
New feature for the Launcher would be if it could stream the screen what camera is viewing on Gear Fit screen. Is the bluetooth bandwith enough, dunno. But not needing real time video, just to check if the aiming of camera is right.

Gear fit camera App
There is an app on the play store.
There were a few bugs to start with but now I find it really good.
Search for Gear Fit Camera

Making a hi-res icon for the carousel turned out to be a much more difficult job than writing the app was. This one is just the stock camera icon and there is no hi resolution version that I could find.
But..I have done it, and I plan on making it available on Amazon's app store (for a nominal fee)
The version here will remain available for free - consider it a Beta.
nicee )
Thanks for the app.

I have submitted the app with hires carousel icon to the Amazon App Store, and it is awaiting review.
The app name is "HD Camera" and it will be $1.99. Creating the hires icon and jumping through all of the hoops to satisfy Amazon took much much longer than simply writing the app.
Dr Henley please update when its live and I will buy it and review it for all your hard work. Thanks

It's live, just search for Camera.
Version 2.0 has been submitted for review.

[Q] Any Weather Nerds?

Anyone a meteorologist or an aspiring one? Or anyone that just is fascinated by weather? I'm a undergrad meteorologist looking for the best known/unknown weather apps for android, either on or off of the google play store. Let me know what you guys got. Thanks :good:

I'm using Android Weather. I think it's the best of weather apps. Fast, light and exactly.
Weather tap has great radar. But I still use weatherbug as my everyday app.
:highfive:Bump on E-weather HD!! For the wealth of data it provides, $3.99 seems cheap!! Radar is the best I've seen on a device!! :good:
1Weather
Which weather app is the best... it depends what you expect from such app.
I like apps to be well designed and its very important for me... 1Weather was one of the best apps which I tried. Its very accurate, and it has additional functions, which I didnt use offten. But feel free to try it, maybe you will like it too
I agree with E-Weather HD. Great and informative weather app. Thanks for suggesting it

Is there any 4.3/4/4 ROM with S Pen apps?

Using the Note app with the S-Pen is important to me so I am wondering if there is any 4.3/4.4 ROM out there that will do this. Thanks.

You can download Bamboo from playstore. Worked good for me.

Check out these pens from Adonit. They eliminate your need for TouchWiz. They focus on iOS support, but they do work with Android. There are a number of YouTube videos you can review.

Papyrus is another option. I actually forgot this phone has an spen.

If you really want the Samsung apps, then the answer is no.
There are a ton of apps which work with the spen hardware just like on a stock rom, including palm rejection and spen button use etc, use the market and search.
Thanks guys, I will try all your suggestions out. I like the handwriting to text feature though.
There's nothing better than S-Notes but a few as good. Here are my top choices in order of best.
LectureNotes - though on KitKat, the writing lags a bit
Papyrus
Memo
Stylus Beta - Although not a note app, it allows you to use the S-Pen to input text
Write
Jotter
Bamboo Paper
OmniNote

(New App) S-pen Recorder for Note 10.1 2014

I just wanted to share this new app with the community. It's called S-pen Recorder for Note 10.1 2014 and is available in the Samsung App store. It allows pdf hand written notes to be synced with recorded audio. You can also click a portion of your written text and the audio recorded at that moment will be played. One note, Spen SDK must be installed from Google Play store or this app won't work. I found this out by emailing the developer who responded promptly and was very helpful. This is the 1st app on Android that I have seen that adds my most missed feature from Notability on my old Ipad. Glad it's available for our Notes!
very interesting hint. thx

I can't seem to be able to find this app in the Samsung Store. Can you or anyone point me in the right direction please?

To get the app you have to visit the Samsung App Store from your Note. It won't show up if you look it up on a phone unless you use a Web browser and select your Note on the left. I hope this link below works.

it does not do that. It just does a screen recording and then you have to scroll through the video to find what was being said at that time, which is very inefficient for a 2 hour lecture. This app lets you click on what you wrote within the note itself and it will play the audio based on what was being said at that stroke.

In LectureRecordings open the notebook you want to play back and click replay notebook. Once in the replay screen press the menu button and choose the option 'Search Recordings' and then it asks you to touch a spot in the notebook that you want the audio to start from and it'll start at that keystroke.

What is wrong with using Opera Mini?
Didn't allow local web addresses.
Gear web better but not standalone.
I run a few set services at home and would be good to connect to them without having watch connected to phone.

I see it in under Samsung Gear > Samsung Gear Apps > search for browser: results Opera & GearWeb - Internet Browser for Gear.
It's supposed to work with the Gear S, but, again, reviews are mixed. If you don't see it, the dev may have only made it available for the US store - bad mistake if that's the case.
GearWeb works OK you will not see any pictures tho and to use it. You can use the Web standalone or share your phones browser on your watch it's more like Internet for a dumb phone very very basic
By stand alone I mean no bluetooth connection. In remote mode the browser didn't work

Yes standalone Gear Only mode GearWeb works using the Gear S Internet/ WiFi nothing to do with the phone and it's Bluetooth/remote connect
Sorry I do not understand what you mean. When I tried it with no bluetooth the Internet didn't work.
