If you want to get back to factory default. Kies would flash a generic rom for your phone. Madmack 1.5 is either the rom or the theme of your phone. Is it a custom rom or stock rom you want to install?
i just want a factory rom for download in case something goes wrong .. and i want to install dlevs rom or criskelo rom ..
or is it safe for me to install roms? and my phone will alwayz be rooted???
i dont want to go for stock . but if my phone goes dead then i need a stock firmware??

Yes it is safe to install Roms. If you do it wrong you will just get a soft brick easily recoverable. Read the forums on how to flash a rom and kernel
First download odin ill attach it for you:
Second download .tar kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838
Flash the kernel with Odin
Download CriskeloRom, his thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168836
His download links are dead you should be able to find a download link here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168836&page=982
Flash the rom with clockworkmod
That's it all you need
Hit the thanks button!!

Stock kernels are not that good! Custom kernels come with a lot more features, Way faster performance, smoother and just all round better!!. With regular updates i do see that it is necessary for me anyway. It takes 2 seconds to install
If you need me to install the kernel PM me?
my battery timings are very good now .. if i install siyah kernel will it eat my battery or give me good time ??? and im using iptables+proxydroid right now bcoz i am behing a proxy server.. will iptables work on roms??

If anything it will make your battery times even better and im sure of this. Well if it worked before on stock kernel and stock rom there is no reason why it wouldnt work on custom kernels and roms
just want to know another thing criskelo rom is in english or spanish ?? i want to install this rom .. then ics !

Hi ,
I have a galaxy sII i9100g And i Flashed a kernel i went into cwm and Backed up the stock rom So if i flash a rom can i restore the stock rom's Backup ik i can do it with custom roms i dont know if i can with Custom ROms so yeah Please Andser
you can backup/restore both stock/ custom roms, the default will restore the whole backup replcaing the existing one, you can make advanced restore to restore specific backup.
well i restore many times if iam not happy wiv the custum rom so yes u can restore back but hav a proper backup and don wipe the whole phone as the backup goes off sometimes.

Yea you can restore your stock rom any time with Cwm recovery. As long as you have cwm recovery in your new custom rom you can acess your backups. So be sure you flash cwm recovery on your custom rom btw most of rom's come with cwm so you don't have to worry if not you can flash cwm recovery from odin too. Just search on google about cwm touch
Hope it helped you.
Thanks me i my words are helpfull.
Thanks You All cuz im not happy with this rom i wanted to go back..thanks again

As far as my expereriance, after restoring a ROM form your backup it is always a good idea to wipe Cache and dalvik cache befor rebooting. (not the factory reset..that will wipe your applications this you do before restoring only)
how will you restore to stock via CWM if CWM is via a rooted kernel .
It will be a non stock kernel .

I think here everybody meant by "Stock" is the first ROM which was there in the phone..no matter its rooted with a custom kernel.....

But its not original and voids warranty if restored was my point .
Far easier to grab a download of the original rom .
OP did say stock rom and not custom rom so the answer is as always not via CWM its no longer a stock rom once rooted .

Ur file system is ext4 now and stock Roms require rfs file system ...
Just flash a stock rom first, then restore your backup
P.S. confirm that the stock rom or custom rom based on stock u flash has rfs file system
Edit: or try to do a "wipe cache partition " if this doesn't work follow the above steps
well i guess that can be the problem. xperiatized is based on ext4 partirion system. and i've tried wiping cache but didn't worked.
i guess i have to flash rom through odin then :-(

But why do u want stock rom again? ?
Have u heard of an awesome rom called CM7 ?
yes man....one can't be so silly not knowing about cm ;-)
and does it mean that i will not be able to restore my stock rom again as almost all roms are based on ext4 partition?
You got the wrong file format, reflash stock via odin then try restore. Wipe cache after that
if I help please hit thanks
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA
You can olso try to flash with odin another basaband beside DDKQ8.Cheers!

Lol I was just recommending cm7 ....dude u flash a stock rom via Odin first then root your phone again ( yes root access will get wiped by flashing stock rom) then install cwm and restore your backup ( if it has some important data it doesn't make sense to take all this trouble otherwise )

after restoring your backup, restore BOOT from a cm7 rom
I'm having the same problem, if i do a factory reset from Clockwork recovery,it will give me stock rom? I don't really want to use my pc when i'm going to turn back to stock because of possible usb/connection problems..
Try using stocklite, its DDKQ8. I like that rom a lot. Good battery life, speed and no bugs as far as i know.
If you don't want to flash it with odin try flashing Stocklite v6 and then restoring the backup

[Q]is it possible to restore KK NANDROID BACKUP after updating Soak Test LP?

I restored after upgrading via TWRP Flashable ZIP (not via AdB fastboot) and restored my kk backup successfully.
In my thought the bootloader upgrade and downgrade only happnes when u flash ROM via Fastboot, so u can downgrade by flashing Stock LP flashable zip, but flash at ur own risk
Did u flashed the soak test ota zip, and then were u able to restore the nandroid backup [kitkat] successfully without any problem? Thats all I want to know..

Yes I got it what u said. But I don't wanna upgrade to Stock Lollipop by either of this two methods. Isn't there a flashable rom zip of Stock Lollipop that would be easily flashable like other custom roms ??

Tried to find but there isn't any. The only way to upgrade I see is first flash the stock 4.4.4 firmware and then flash the soak test ota. In this way there could be some possibility of hard brick while downgrading or by any other method. Thats why I don't wanna upgrade in this way, I better stay with Kitkat and wait till someone come up with a flashable stock pure lollipop rom
