You do not need a specific charger really. Any phone charger will do, or just any USB port. I tried my Nexus 5 and HTC one charger, as well as USB ports of different devices. They all work

Oh right. I thought you meant the actual wall charger. My Bad, I will look, maybe I'll find a charging cradle

this site has the Samsung gear live charger..perhaps in the future, they will have the G watch charger also...

Have to be careful with some chargers. Most newer phones have a much higher amperage. Might not be any immediate issues but could have excessive heat or circuit issues long term.

Amperage listed is the maximum amperage a charger can provide. The actual amperage delivered will be a function of voltage and resistance and so an undamaged device will have no risk of providing too much amperage.

Current doesn't work like that, as current is drawn, not pushed like voltage. If a charger has "2 A" marked on it, it can still be used to charge ANY USB device as they'll only draw as much as they need

The input and output numbers are considerably different from the oem chargers. I recall reading that using such generic chargers can significantly shorten our battery life. Perhaps someone with knowledge about electrical circuitry can comment.
It says 550 mA output. This charger is only half the oem output. It will take longer to charge your phone.

...and your oem charger is 200mA. So it would actually charge faster, which could reduce the battery life if it's not designed to be charged that quickly.

i think you are looking at the wrong numbers. this is what my charger says(charger that came with box)
PHIHONG
AC ADAPTER
MODELSAA05A-050
HTC PIN:79H00055-01M
INPUT:100-240V~
200mA 50-60Hz 13-20VA
OUTPUT:5V==1A LPS
the android charger guy says
Sciphone Dream G2
Model: G2
Input: 100-240V~ 50/60Hz 0.15A
Output: 5.0v 550mA
if you look at the output specs, the output on the android guy is half of the OEM charger. the 200mA is listed under input.
and the charger i used thats similar to the android guy is this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Charger-AC-...|66:2|39:1|72:2123|293:1|294:50#ht_2218wt_973
i used it on my shadow and tilt, i did notice that the charger charged my phone slower so i went back to using the OEM
also to have a clear comparison. the MOTO RAZR charger has the same specs as the android guy. and i have used the moto razr charger on all my devices before(whenever my cat would chew up my OEM chargers)
Yup, you guys are right. I was looking at the input numbers. Thanks for correcting me.

I think this is manufacturer and kernel specific.
How quickly would they charge with 3A...
I use 1A through magnetic and it's lightening quick

Li-ion batteries are smart, so are the chargers. If possible check reviews about whichever 3A charger you pick first. Battery won't get damaged because the chip they use will prevent charges heavier than they accept. Its all about if anyone's willing to spend the extra money to perform this experiment and see if the charger will actually make a real world difference in charge time or not.
those things are just huge!

I'm thinking about buying one... would be nice in some situations to charge with full 3A but i still think it's bad for battery longetivity.

It's actually not that easy, usually a battery charges to 80% in half the charging time and to 80% out of that 80 in a quarter of the charge time. Guess what I'm trying to say is that charging is not linear, meaning the equation is more complicated

Faster you charge lithium batteries, you reduce the number of charge cycles. I'd rather charge it slower, especially because you can't change the battery.

I have multiple chargers, in the car I have 1.2A (Sony original car charger), in work I have 2.0A ( Samsung original charger )... but near the bed I have 0.35A (Sony bluetooth headphone charger)... while sleeping I don't need fast charging so I went for the lowest possible power...
please dont try high amperage chargers... might burn the chip!

Hello,
Well, if you are looking wireless charger then recently some wireless chargers arrive online I have seen some on Amazon.:good:
Will it work just for the spare battery without being on the phone thanks
I use an Onite Charger, seen below. After asking the same question as you, a very nice person here on XDA sent me this to test it out and write a review. I can tell you that it works for all the phone's I own and the nice part is that it's auto switching and size adjustable, depending on the battery. It will charge your battery (out of phone) at 600mah and by USB at 1000mAh, which is pretty comparable to most out there, including Zerolemon's own ext. charger. It will also adapt to charge extra large batteries like the ZL 10kmAh and Hyperion, Anker batteries.

# How would you know it's charged?

You need to buy something that plugs into the wall that has some sort of light or indicator that tells you when the battery is fully charged. My suggestion, look at DealXtreme or some such site and buy something cheap from them.
The Note 4 is due to be released in about 3 weeks. Hold on and buy something in the firesale that's going to happen once the Note4 is released.

To use a wireless charger you have to get the sticker that goes on the stock battery. They sell them in combos. However, just note that finding the sweet spot on the wireless chargers is not always easy. Get one of them that is rectangular rather than round because the device just sits on it rather than fiddling around for the sensor matching up.
Just a suggestion.

The PHONE asks for the power from the charger.
If the phone doesnt ask for more than 2amps, for instance, it doesnt matter if youve got a 100amp charger, it wont give it any more than 2amps.
panyan answers ur question.
However you can reduce the charge time by looking into buying a quick charger 2.0 as the S800 supports this. I repeat: version 2.0! 1.0 does not work with S800.
Details here: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/800
For example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qualcomm-Ce...682?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35ec14a922
or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qualcomm-Ce...187?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d333ddd6b
will work with the phone. I don't have any quick charger so I don't know how much faster such charger act compared to a normal dc adapter.
The main advantage of buying a charger that has more amps output is that the unit will not heat up as much as compared to a 700mAh-1.5A charger. Because it has more performance to give than a smaller charger which is always going at full throttle.
But as panyan said. Your phone won't use more amps even if u buy one that can output like 20 amps..
And as many here has noticed. In the lollipop roms charging the phone is now ridiculous slow. Instead of 2 hours as we saw in KK roms it now takes like 4-6 hours.
In kitkat I topped 1,5A but now I get like 400mA-650mA. Dunno why they changed this in lollipop..
The disadvantage is just a miniscule thing to not even care about.
A charger with higher amps output can have a higher idle current then a smaller charger.
Instead of using something like 0,1W per hour a larger charger might use 0,15W per hour.
There's no linear formula for how it works but it can happen.. you might care about care about this if you are a controlfreak with the elecric bill.
This only applies if you leave your charger in the socket all the time like I do. Some people unplug it some just leave it in ready to charge the phone next time.

Thank you! Finally someone bought one!
Now we have the answer. Quick charge does not work.
Edit:
I saw something about that quickcharge has the same connector BUT it uses 7 pins instead of 5 as a regular micro usb cable.
And looking into a microscope I can see that the Z ultra micro usb port has 5, five pins.
So the missing part might actually be an hardware issue here?
Värt att notera är att Micro-Flip inte har stöd för QuickCharge eftersom kontaken endast har fem stycken pinnar framför sju stycken, vilket krävs för turboladdning

Only getting Q.C 2.0 TA when charging

i don't have the included charger for the V30 but i do have the official charger that came with my old G6 so i use that.
I noticed that when going to the SVC menu and then Battery Information, the High voltage status only shows Q.C 2.0 TA using the G6 charging brick. I then checked on the G6's SVC menu using the same charging brick, cable and outlet, and it shows USB_HVDCP_3 which i think is Q.C. 3.0? Q.C. 3.0 shows up when i search USB_HVDCP_3, correct me if im wrong.

Well, they are certified. (see below) I just bought a 3-pack as I need some more chargers.
However, if you definitely want a "trusted" brand, then go with Anker. I have those also.

Got them yesterday, they work well.
Bought them for less than $12 ($11.88), with free shipping. Normal price is $12.25. Mine was discounted slightly for purportedly having "damaged" packaging, but I couldn't see any thing wrong. See attached pictures I took.
Great price for THREE compact certified QuickCharge 3.0 wall chargers.
Can you screenshot the charging info just for the record, would like to see that if you can do it and share it here. The *#546368#*998* - Svc Menu - Battery Test - Battery information thing when you have one of those QC3 chargers attached and charging?
Thanks...
Pretty sure we all know what it looks like but here's mine just in case:

That code doesn't work for me, had to use Shortcut Mass to get into hidden menu.
Here's screenshots but I can't explain why it says 2.0.
Tomorrow I'll find one of my other QC 3.0 chargers. That may just be what this phone does.
My apologies, the correct code is:
*#546368#*998*
Left out a # sign after the code there, sorry.
*#546368#*<3 digit model code>*
ill send a picture shortly. So is it normal for the "charge now raw" to be negative numbers? i get that too with 100% being only in the 500k mark and near 0% at near 3 million.
from my svc menu. and also, i thought the lg v30 battery was li-po but in every picture of the battery and specs i see li-ion

The numbers aren't particularly meaningful and more to show activity I'd say. Not worth focusing on, the fact is your device is working, it's charging, and that's all that really matters.
No matter the certification, I'd never get one of those funny brands again, it's just a catastrophe waiting to happen. Had it once, it was totally unreliable after a while, you'll probably regret it.

Here's my screenshot on my Anker car charger, QuickCharge 3.0. Same battery info in the Hidden Menu.
So, either the Hidden Menu is wrong (maybe never updated for QuickCharge 3.0 readout), or LG V30 only charges at 2.0.
It does make one wonder, hence me asking for a screenshot. I wonder if there's anyone out there with a V30, any model, and a true honest to goodness QC3.0 charger that will be able to provide a screenshot that does actually show - presuming it's not edited - QC3.0 in action on it...

These seem very well made and are probably the exact same chargers Aukey or others sell under their name.
I also found these being sold under another brand name on Amazon -- for $6 more.
They say they are factory direct to the public, so I understand that. Exactly how Asus started. Before Asus became major name brand, they manufactured products Dell and others sold under their brand names -- but Asus was the secret designer/manufacturer.
I see that happen with Qi wireless chargers also. Same design, same hardware, different brand names on Amazon. Why? Because the Chinese factory is the same and different companies are selling the exact same product.
I also saw that with LG Blu-ray players. Same factory that makes LG Blu-ray players also makes the Best Buy "Insignia" Blue-ray players and they're practically identical.

does charging speed feel any different though? if you or anybody have other phones with quick charge 3 it would be nice if we had a comparison with the v30, thanks.

Yes, it does feel faster on 3.0 chargers.

It also says "QC 2.0TA" when using my Anker PowerPort1+ QC3.0 charger with any of the USB cables I have. Same with the white stock charger. I have an european 930.
Which is a bummer because I ordered this charger mainly to get QC3.0 support. Sadly I have no USB voltmeter on hand to check if the dynamic voltage is used or not.
Using the LG V20 power brick and USB cable.
