Installed ROM for the first time and got myself into trouble - please help - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I always knew that ROMs are powerful and adding an extra dimension to an old device.
I had a TAB 10.1 and decide to install kitkat on it- [KK 4.4.4]Nameless ROM GT.
Followed Zedomax from highonandroid from a movie I found on YouTube and I can't be more frustrated!
The whole device is slow, the app store is not installed, I'm not used to anything and the whole OS glitches and freezes.
What the hell do I do now? Can someone please help me before I'll lose my mind? I start to regret I did this whole rooting thing but it's obviously too late.
When I got on the official tread of that ROM on the developers forum I see 800+ pages and I don't even know where to start.
In a search for a good soul out there who will save me from that mess.
Thanks!

to be more specific

I would like to know how to install the Google Play store.
Tried everything I saw online (manula download from the browser) but after installation the deivce wont open the store. It'll try, a white screen will appear and nothing happens. Somone?

Well when installing a ROM you should also have the appropriate gapps package as well. The gapps package contains the play store and syncing libs needed as well as some other Google apps hence the name gapps. You could use Google to find the gapps package for your android version. Download it, reboot into recovery and flash. Reboot and play store should be there.

I thrice the motion! i miss nubinews low footprint and cleanliness and after resetting device market won't list it anymore.

[Q] Paranoid ROM : Impossible to install "Options Chooser"

Hello,
All is in the subject.
In fact I can install it but when I get into the rom I have :
- no Google Play.
- Only Holo launcher and another are available.
I'have proceeded like this:
- From MROM I have 'reboot' in CMW recovery (version 5.0.2.0).
- Then I have flashed the ROM. "No tweak and with full wipe"
As explained , I have fixed the permissions.
- Then I have installed 'Blueslep'
and finally I have installed "Options Chooser": - all launcher - all apps - Adobe Flash.
Tell me If I have done something wrong because I don't understand where I have missed something .......
Thank you for your help.
I have now installed the Gapps For JB 4.1.2 ... and it won't work too ...
The purposes of this question are :
- Why my Atrix won't installed the complete ROM + Apps ...?
- Is the fact to have not all the features provided with the ROM can be an issue for the ROM usage and/or stability ? (I mean does my ROM will no be so efficient than for another user who has successfully installed everything) ?
- If I have missed something, can you please help me ...
I've tested JB and I go back to MROM ... but since 2 days I want to go back to JB as the interface and the speed is something I don't want to lose ...
Thx

I have the same problem, Google Play can't be installed under any circumstances with the given packs from this thread on my device.
Since the Paranoid rom is the only fast rom with kind of lapdock support, it would really awesome get this one working...

Same problem here.
the problem seems inherent to aroma installer since a few days, i advised someone to install epinters gapps and he said it worked.
However, he did have to do a clean install in order to get it to work.
So perhaps you should just flash your system partition, reinstall the rom and then flash epinters gapps, you can find these on his website

No play store after flashing

My english is bad but i will try to good enought that u can understand it. However... I just flashed the aokp rom on my s3 i9300 device and i dont got a google play app... I tryed to instal it via google but i cant open it :/ had the same problem with the pacman rom before... My handy is very useless without a play store apk on it can someone help me pls?
Flash a Gapps package.
The ones from Paranoid Android are generally regarded as the most complete set.

[x86][GApps] FrankenGApps 20140826 4.4.x *UPDATED! Stable! Universal!*

DO NOT FLASH THIS ON A TOUCHWIZ ROM. AOSP BASED ONLY
This is a custom GApps package I created to work with x86 devices (namely, our tab) as the normal GApps packages available are arm-only. (and no, to those who would ask, it's not as simple as downloading PA-GApps and swapping the update binary. The actual files therein are NOT x86 compatible, namely, the libs.)
UPDATE 1: With the release of 4.4. for the P5210, I am pleased to announce that this is now a full, complete, stable GApps package
It contains everything found in the PA-GApps stock zip plus:
-Hackers keyboard
-Root browser
-Xperia home
note that Hacker's keyboard and Xperia home are just there in case google keyboard / google home don't work out of the box. I don't anticipate any problems, but just to be sure. After some feedback / testing i'll remove these if people want. Root browser however is here to stay.
UPDATE 2:
As of the 20140823 build, this is now a UNIVERSAL x86 GApps package, meaning it will work on ANY x86 device running 4.4.x with zero tinkering to the zip. I did this by using a slightly modified pa-gapps updater-script coupled with an x86 update-binary.
UPDATE 3:
The 20140826 build is mostly bug fixes. The updater-script in the 20140823 build was broken. This is now fixed. Google + was broken. This is also fixed.
Google keyboard was broken. This too, is now fixed.
Tested this build myself. All is well.
For those who want a ROM to try this with, head over to @moonbutt74 's thread "odds, ends tests". He posted a successful 4.4.4 build from a few days ago on i think the 4th or 5th post (though it is by NO MEANS dd ready. We're working on it)
DOWNLOAD LINK IS BELOW.
If you want to use this for any reason other than personal use, ask me first, unless you just want to include a link on your ROM thread. If you do want to include a link in your ROM thread, link to this thread, not the download link below.
Download link:FrankenGApps-x86-20140826
old builds:
20140823 build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140823.zip
The updater script in this build is broken. On top of that, if you fix it yourself, google + and google keyboard are borked.
20140814 build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140814.zip
This build only works with the tab 3 10.1.
Old legacy hackey build:
FrankenGApps-x86-20140813.zip
there is absolutely no reason to flash the 20140813 build over newer builds. The 20140813 build is an unstable / hackey 4.2 gapps port, I'm just posting it for reference purposes. Naturally this build is unsupported. Please download the new build(s) from OP.
if i flash the build of 14th then i stuck on samsung boot logo. firmware was stock rooted deodexed 4.4.2. i have tryed it twice but always stuck on boot logo.

I was sameway, so I just downloaded the update from "sammobile" installed it and used " super Su from chailfire to get root also used root explore to take out the apps I did not need.

 @ghforlife
Why did you flash this on a touchwiz rom?
This zip is meant for aosp based ROMs like cm11. (I tested this package on @moonbutt74's wip cm11 build, works like a charm)
Besides, TW Roms have GApps built in

Oh, sorry, but all the other devices have cm 11, it´s like my normal behaviour to flash gapps... shame on me
Just updated to 20140823.
As of now, this GApps package is universally compatible with all x86 devices running 4.4.x. Zero tinkering to the zip necessary.
Just updated to 20140826. This build fixes updater-script, google keyboard, and google +. Read "update 3" in OP for more info.
Nice
Another stone in building our road to CM11. Thanks.
I know many will used this update.
To be honest, I am forced to used the market, but try to stay away from C I A applications. I am sorry did I say C I A. My apologies it is the Alzheimer, I mean Google.

These gapps are 6 years old and for older versions of android. Go to opengapps.org for android 7.1.2 based gapps.
And also why do you need instructions? Same as all gapps just flash the zip after flashing the rom

I have a tab 3 10.1 WiFi so if anything pops up around these threads I always have a look.
The tablet is still working fine for me without any gapps on it as I've found gapps are extremely heavy on such an old tablet. Instead I opted for a microg installation and it works perfectly (even being able to play games like bullet force or fwd assault) but i mostly use it for reading and cooking and that kind of stuff which it is perfect for.

Owhh, i see. I put this rom on my tab: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-10/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3587761
It does lag sometimes, but i removed some of the GApps it came with. I mean, the second i removed playstore some other Google apps stopped working so i had to delete them too. It's a bit better, but i dont play games on it, it's still laggy i should've chosen another ROM but i guess this is fine. Which ones are you using? If you want we can talk in discord, or here if you want, which ever way you fele comfortable. I can share the apps i have and etc, since we have the same tablet, finally i found someone in 2020 having the same device as i have! Ha. I'm still here, so if you reply and i wont answer, i will answer later, i have schedule to follow that's why
Ill wait for your response, anywhere, if you want dm me here, chat in this thread or check my discord, send a friend request and tell me here ur name so I'd accept it. You can also find me in the XDA discord server.

Hey, where have you been?

AICP lollipop rant for LG G2

Take this down if im not allowed to post, sorry... I just havent seen or read anything else new with the lollipop for our lg g2... Im not feeling LS and CM12 is not my thing.... I like slimroms but they havent uploaded anything new...the usual daily driver is mokee
Then i saw this!
know its a test build but this is by far the best lollipop on my phone D800 in my opinion. Daniel GravesenMODERATOR has been working on the build. All credit goes to him. I cant wait for a stable version. https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z13szlrzhyfec3aom04cedf4vwrjxb24gtw0k please use at your own risk. Dont blame me for using this TEST version and dont go asking Daniel for help...you should know what your doing hoe. Lol:silly:
After second install ive got everything working except the browser( fc, deleted, installed chrome beta). And switched europe to north america on the gps config using fasterfix app. I also did use system app remover to uinstall the browser and other google apps...
The usual factory wipe and cache, etc... When i installed this rom on my D800 i did use KK_Baseband_D800.zip first then rom the gapps then D800_KKMODEM_AOSP.zip(fixes auto rotate). Reboot. My first start up took about 5 mins. Youll see the aicp logo then a black dark screen for a minute.... Success, welcome screen. In my opinion youll want to let the phone sit for at least 5 minutes without touching it then reboot.
In advance, i dont know anything about any other model except for D800. So i cant assist.
Came from slimkat to optimusG3 to cloudyg3 to mokee now as a daily driver 0.1 unofficial
If you found my info useful. Hit thanks
I can't access it? I mean the download page.
@martinez5241
Maybe we have a different idea of the word rant, but it's normally used negatively, which your post does not seem to be lol. I agree it runs the best for me as well.
@tuan2195
Its best to follow them on g+ versus XDA, and I did see someone post a few min ago that the page was down for them as well. Might be down for maintenance or something.
