I'm using gear 1 and i've got no battery draining... I can't see the difference from with and without the smartwatch connected.

Anyone able to use the gear 2 and able to make phone calls? From the watch? I like the g watch but I not being able to use it as phone or speaker is so ridiculous.....esp after rep told me I could make calls on it.

I'm using a G Watch and its killing my battery. I actually put it up on eBay because as much as I like it the battery drain is too much. It's like when I used my gear fit with my note 3. Bluetooth doesn't like me.

Samsung Gear Live working with no problems.

Sony SW2 also working with no issues. Still looking forward to the Moto360 though.

Who is using a Smartwatch that is a good fitness tracker replacement and sleep tracker?

my SW2 works fine with my G3, did you use NFC or regular bluetooth to pair it?

App to turn phone into bluetooth speaker?

I was wondering if there is an app or work around to allow the phone to RECIEVE sound from bluetooth and/or wifi (or wifi direct) and play it through the speaker or headset

Hi, everybody, I am a new friend.
Dont think you can do it through bluetooth but rSpeakers (on play store) says it can do it through wifi. never used it myself so cant confirm how it works but thats what I found through google.

I'm so torn!!! Black dot!

What is the little black dot on the top of the bezel next to the headphone jack? I can not figure it out for the life of me.

And I'm not talking about the mic, I'm talking about the bigger one above the front cam, on the bezel.

That's pretty sweet! Any other gems I need to know about aside from the air gestures?

I personally love the voice commands. You can say "Snooze" when the alarm goes off and it'll snooze. If someone calls, you can just say "Answer" and it'll put it right on speakerphone. If you're in the camera, you can just say "Cheese" or "Shoot" and not have to hit the screen and cause a blurry shot.

The S4 has has a built in thermometer... There are apps in the market that work with it...or you can use the app called S Health on your phone. With the latest 4.3 update you can now use the Galaxy Gear.

Phone

When I receive a phone call and when I slide to answer it goes right to speaker phone. Does this happen to anyone else? It doesn't happen all the time. Or is this a feature?

Yes

Sure does, every time the magnetic usb adapter is connected. Also from time to time when disconnected, I thought the magnetic charger was culprit, however I'm starting to think 4.3 is responsible as it seem to only occur during magnetic charges with 4.2.
This is also on my Xperia since Android 4.3

I saw that out of the box, but when I switched launchers and put the search widget back on it seems you lose the hotword detection. Can anyone confirm? I'm guessing they built it into TW ala GEL

Why do you want to do that? Someone showered with the Gear 2 just because to see if it was really IP67 proof or whatever he said the camera got foggy but everything was fine after that. We have no camera in our GS. If I were you I would not. But if you just want to experiment and you have insurance for water damage jic then go for it :fingers-crossed:
I do that everyday it's fine just make sure it's locked even I play music it's fine..
What do you mean by locked
