UAE-originated 900F also doesn't have it.

Just looked trough the apk on my phone and coach files seems to be in there, no idea why it would be disabled or how to enable it

None for 900P either
Just stopped by. I cruise ALL the S5 threads just in case I see something that crosses all variants. Anyway, I don't have Coach on mine either.
I'm kinda curious now.....

I looked at the s4 and it has the coach but it's completely different app compared to ours.

i think it might have something to do with CSC??

What folder did you locate the Coach files?

Ok.....I have Sprint and it's in there, located on the phone as the S-Health Widget. So, I'm guessing American Variants have it.
The widget basically is a plug-in that allows you to set exercise goals and get reminders on the phone. I haven't been able to locate the exact files, but there ARE Samsung-linked apps that plug-in to S-Health that basically do the same thing.

I'm also interested in this issue.
Today my couple got her Note 4 and I realised the little "Coach by Cigna" banner into the S-Health widget that I don't have in my Note 4. I'm sure that's because her device have stock firmware. It's Vodafone Spain and the only thing I've done to it is rooting. On the contrary, first thing I did when I received my also Vodafone device, was changing firmware to Samsung's generic one (also rooted). And I changed CSC also. Vodafone Spain is ATL and now I have MET (Ireland) I don't know why. I thought I put PHE (Spain free), but now I checked that's not true. I installed "Phone INFO" app by Vndnguyen and it says I have MET CSC
So, when I have time (because changing CSC resets phone and deletes all data) I'll try to change to PHE...
I think this is the clue.

[Q] Check for author/developer any app - possible?

It appears to me that there isn't a way to definitively find out the author/developer of any given app.
Is this right? I mean I would've thought there would be some standardization in metadata for apps, so that it wouldn't be so difficult to discover the provenance of any given app.
I have seen in this forum that often times, it isn't even obvious that an app might be written by Samsung, and we aren't even sure what each app does.
The SGS2 is my first experience with Android, and it's surprising that we have this problem.
In your picture, the first email icon is the stock app and the second one is the stock email widget... Nothing to do with Russia
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Usually you can tell if the app is part of Android OS or made by Samsung by the package name and where the package is located.
The first app is com.android.email (located at /system/app/Email.apk) whilst the second app is com.sec.android.widgetapp.emailwidget (located at /system/app/EmailWidget.apk).

Ah, here's the place that I saw that Russia-specificity.
Is this AppBrain's mistake?
What does SocialHub has to do with Russia?

Hello,
I bought a new indash for my truck the Sony xav-601bt and it supports mirrorlink technology for gs3. Pretty much the unit becomes an extension of your phone all the way down to playing angry birds on it if you wanted to. However I cannot connect it and after searching and speaking to numerous Sony tech supports that had no freakin clue of what to do I found that Samsung neeeds to release the app for it to be compatible. If anyone has it or runs into it I would appreciate it if you posted it here. Its supposed to be released on 8/29 from a rumor I read. It goes by the name Samsung drive-link I believe. Any help is much appreciated

I have the same problem - I installed a xav601-bt in my car wanting to use mirror link. Google maps is so much better than the $2000 nav unit in our brand new Honda Odyssey ... but I digress. I saw that Sony-asia has released a firmware update for the unit. Took my chances and installed it (NOTE THIS: had to take off the faceplate and press reset to get it out of the reboot loop) installed fine but neither the "mirror link" nor "telenav" app work. Properly. USB device not recognized. I understand I need an app for the phone. Mirror link or drive link. This will be perfect if they get it to work - I want my Google nav to display on my head unit. Controlling it would be bonus. C'mon Samsung, get it going!
One nice thing I did find though if you pair your phone with bluetooth then click on Bluetooth settings for sony automotive you can enable not only calls but audio and that way you can still listen to everything that goes on in your phone such as spoken turn by turn navigation, music, YouTube, Netflix, etc. Still can't wait for official rollout though. I wonder how they will get around the "USB device not supported" error message when plugging in via USB

I have a Galaxy S2, and just bought a XAV-701BT. The guy at the store said that I would be able to use mirror link with my GS2 when the app was released at the end of this month, but from what I am reading it looks like it will only work on the GS3.
Does anyone know if I will be able to use mirror link on the GS2?
I have already installed the new firmare on the XAV-701BT

It seems you need a UK account to download the app. I will try to make a fake one later to try and download it.
Edit: I made a UK account but I still can't download any apps when I try to log in with the Samsung app it says account does not match country. I tried to change the time zone in Settings to UK and that didn't work. If we could get someone from the UK to download the app and upload it for us it would be great

Suspicious app called MtkCamera

Rooted my phone using the Vroot method and did some surveying with permission manager, xPrivacy and I stumbled upon a mysterious app called MtkCamera (com.example.cameraroot). I have no recollection of ever installing this app. I find this suspicious because I use permission manager on other phones running ICS and never have to deal with this app before. Considering all the apps listed are installed from Google Play Store, I decided to restrict all permission and uninstall the app. Check out the permissions list.

Sure, but what does it do? Does it steal your contacts? Send SMS'? Log your IMEI? Log your keystrokes? Or is it nothing out of the ordinary? Who knows!

So the reason some people do not have can be simply because they do not have a TW firmware. Have a TW firmware and got it after vroot. But where would be the point for vroot to put a malicious apps on your phone when they can do anything they want while rooting your device? Change network connectivity
Connect and disconnect wifi

Call me paranoid, but I think this is a spying app...

Is the view that this root method is trustworthy?

Fitness with Gear App dissappears in Samsung appstore

Hi,
I just noticed that fitness with gear is no longer available on the german samsung appstore/galaxy store.
Its still listed in galaxy essentials, but if i click on the list entry for details it say "no data".
Searching after the app also brings no results.
Tested with galaxy s4 active on kitkat 4.4.2
2 or 3 days before it all did work...
Is samsung preparing for something in the background?
Can anybody confirm my observations?

Galaxy Labs AT&T S7 APK

I wanted to post this because I search several times and never found any hits but randomly found this APK somewhere that works just fine activating Galaxy Labs on the AT&T model S7.
