VZW LG G3 has no Call Reject feature - Verizon LG G3

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the XDA forums about this topic.
I originally posted about the topic on reddit in the /r/LGG3 & /r/AndroidQuestions subreddits.
After users confirmed that the feature was on AT&T and T-Mobile, I decided to talk to Verizon Support. After about 40 minutes the rep and I had concluded that the option is currently not in the Verizon LG G3. The representative was very confused on why the "Basic feature" was not accessible on the VZW LG G3.
They stated that at this time they have no ETA for the feature being added to Verizon G3's. Also, an option exists to send calls directly to voicemail but that is only after a contact has been created for the phone number you want to reject.
Are there any other basic features that users cannot access? (All Carriers/Models)

I don't understand.. what exactly is the "Call Reject" feature?

The call reject feature allows you to automatically reject calls from a list that you make on your phone. It's an easy and fast way to make sure that certain people don't bother you as it automatically sends them to voicemail.
The great part about the list is that you just have to usually hit two buttons to add a person to the list unlike the other method where you have to create a contact in your contact list and then choose to send all calls from that contact to your voicemail.

I would post an image of mine but I can't till I hit 10 posts. On the Verizon G3 that Reject feature just doesn't show up at all. Maybe someone with a Verizon G3 could post a screenshot of theirs to prove it.

It's better known as a blacklist if that helps those that are confused by the verbage.

I understand that the option is available, but they are two separate features. One counts as a blacklist while another one is set to individually send contacts to voicemail.
The whole premise of this thread is to state that a basic feature of the Android OS has been removed by Verizon and that there is possibility of other features missing.

Wow, It's really apparent why I actually never posted on this forum with responses like that.

Try the Mr. Number app.

This Moron is a Senior Member as well?? Lol why make a douche bag statement like the above? I agree with the OP this is frustrating that Verizon has removed it from the Native Dialer. I think he like me was hoping someone may have another option to offer up? I wonder if there is a way that one of the Huge Brain guy's can figure out how to snag the Dialer from AT&T or Tmobile to work with our phone? (I'd donate for that option for sure)I know there are other 3rd party apps available like Mr. Number but they don't seem to reject the calls as well. Meaning the phone will usually ring at least once and then reject.

Just ignore this toolbag.
Most of us are able to comprehend what you're saying. I wish this feature was there. The g3 is missing a little bit too much for my liking.

Can you to try to explain the difference again. It seems to me that VZN just relabeled it. Does the AT&T version have both send to voicemail as well as reject?
I don't see any difference, unless do rejected calls get a chance to leave a voice message?

Verizon doesn't like this type of thing because then kids can set it up on their parents etc. They have their own blacklist feature that I THINK can also optionally do as you describe on their website. You can't use it against phones on your own family plan though, and it resets every 6 months or something.

Yup can blacklist on the vzw site but the option was removed from the dialer.

I'd recommend looking for a app that lets you block them. I had 77 blacklisted numbers on my S4 - but no way to transfer them.

You guys should look into Xposed Call Blocker. I don't use it myself but supposedly it works great.

Viber is an Android* and iPhone application that lets you make free phone calls and send free text messages to other users that have Viber installed. When you use Viber, your phone calls to any other
Viber user are free, and the sound quality is much better than a regular call. You can call any Viber user, anywhere in the world, for free and now also text them. All Viber features are 100% FREE and
do not require any additional “in application” purchase.
****************************************************************************************************
WHY USE VIBER VS. OTHER VOIP (VOICE OVER IP) SOLUTIONS
****************************************************************************************************
* COMPLETELY FREE AND WITH NO ADS: Viber and all Viber features are absolutely free and do not require any additional “in application” purchase. Once you and your friends install the free Viber application, you can use it to talk and also text as much as you want. Just makes sure all your friends get Viber! All you need is an Internet connection: 3G or Wi-Fi where available. On top of that, Viber doesn’t contain any annoying ads.
* NO INTERNATIONAL CHARGES: It doesn’t matter where you or your friends are, be it on the same network or in a totally different country. You can talk for as much as you want, for free. Just make sure your friends have Viber too.
* NO USERNAMES, PASSWORDS OR REGISTRATION: You know your friend’s phone number, so why bother with yet another username and password? Viber uses your phone number as your “identity” and lets you make free Viber phone calls to any of your friends that have Viber – using THEIR phone number.
* NO NEED TO ADD BUDDIES: Unlike applications like Skype, Windows Live Messenger or Fring where you need to “add buddies” and have them approve you, Viber behaves just like a phone. Just like you don't need to “add” someone in order to call them, you don't need to add your friends in order to call them on Viber. If you know their phone number, then you know their Viber number, and you’re ready to go!
* DON’T KILL YOUR VIBER: To make sure you always get incoming calls/messages notifications, we strongly recommend you to keep Viber running in the background. This doesn't drain your battery or use up memory and improves your Viber experience.
* SOUND QUALITY: Viber uses state of the art technology in order to make sure the sound quality you get is much better than GSM or a regular phone call.
* MUCH MORE COMING: We are hard at work bringing many more features to your Viber phone. More ringtones (and custom ones), wallpapers, location based services and more are all coming soon to Viber!

This is a good app for most other cell companies, but if you are with Sprint, what is the point of having this? The app requires that ANYONE you call also has the app installed. If that is true, then it is safe to say that the person you are calling is going to be on a cell phone. If that is also true, doesn't Sprint have Any Mobile AnyTime? Wouldnt your call to that person be free without the app? I guess I could see if you did a lot of international calls, but for people that dont make international calls, there is not much sense to download this app...just my opinion...take it or leave it.
Side Note: If it is Any Mobile Any Time, does that include international mobiles?

Why Don't you think of it the other way. People, who are with limited minutes on sprint or other carriers with data plans on their phone can call you for free. They do not have to worry about counting their minutes while calling you.
So you probably don't want to be selfish and do them a favor by installing this app.-
This would be a great app for ppl with limited minutes, to call others whom have the app including iPhone. I didnt see a harsh comment, I dont take words to heart, but all is well still living it up! I hope you'll enjoy it and it's Free calls local or international (if they have the app) and Free messaging.. Thx Pulser for redirecting

I don't think these type of apps are useful to me because i don't really need to block anyone from calling or text-ing. I just ignored them, if I want to block them there is an option in the phone let me block or call ATT to block call/message.
Thanks anyway.

Firstly, that was hilarious.
Ive been called a lot of names on this forum. But my mojo speaks for itself.
After upgrading to last version (beta 34), in the logs does not appear the name of the caller but the name of the group from which it's part of.
To exemplify: got one contact named Adam that's part of group Silent. The setup and profiles in Call Manager are such made to silence calls and block SMS from all contacts in the group Silent. Till now, when a call or SMS came from one of those contacts, in the application's log I could see the name of the person (say Adam) someting like "Adam (phone number) text". After upgrading to latest beta, instead of the contact name I see in the logs the group name...so the same SMS as before now appears in logs as "Silent (phone number) text"
Don't know if it is made by purpose or it's a bug, but it'll be usefull to se the actual contact name in the logs not the group from which belongs. Unfortunately I cannot revert to previous version
Great app, by the way, I'm looking forward to see the final version.
Later edit: Sorry, just saw that this is not the application's general thread, but one specific. I'll post in the appropiate one too
Anything to report?
Dude. All i am gonna say is iove your app.I Use the free version with all of my roms . (frequent flasher ) you did a great job, and have helped me tremendously at keeps those Bill collectors at bay. That being said...... I just can't justify to myself, let alone the wife and kid, paying $10 for an app. Thank you for the free version though. like i said. I use every day.
Edit ....seeing market that unlock key has gone down. Disregard above the $10'comment . Might be able to sneak $5 in on next att Bill lol

[Q] sms forwarding on GT7500

I was looking for an sms forwarder for my galaxy tab - to send messages to my phone so i don't miss them
On market place there are several such apps - but non of them compatible with the GT7500.
Anyway I contacted a developer of one of the non compatible ones called "sms forwarding". He forwarded me the apk which i have installed and it works fine.
If anyone wants the file I could send you the details of the developer - or ask his/her permission to up load it.
Alternatively does anyone know of an officially "compatible" sms forwarder?
PhoneLeash ought to work for you as well (see this thread)
(I am the dev btw!)
PVS
Can't download it on market. Says "Incompatible phone" *lol*
Looks like we have a challenge! I'll see if there is an emulator for the GT7500 and try to figure out what's happening. By the way, what apps _do_ run on your device?
I have a P7510(wifi) and it installs fine for me. I know its no use on this one without 3g(only the opposite way) but at least it can be installed..
Looks nice, thanks!
Hi - sorry for the delay responding.
I found your product on the market place fine searched "phone leash"
It installed fine and works great - excellent product thanks!
Suggestion: The product has the option to send to sms or email - how about to both?

Thanks for trying ... we've been thinking about supporting WiFi-only devices for PhoneLeash's "phone" finding features (obviously SMS forward doesnt have any application). Do you use any such app today for your P7510? I assume it lacks a GPS.
A request - PhoneLeash sends bootup and shutdown notifications to email. I am really curious to know if at least these work on your device.

Hey thats great news! If I understand your device correctly - it can SMS but no phone?
Sending to both SMS and email at the same time is pretty simple to do. Will certainly think about it ... is this just so you can see the forwarded notifications on whatever is in front of you -- phone or PC?
Thanks

Yes i have a GT7500 - it has sms/data but no phone app provided. I understand that the hardware has phone capability and some devs are trying to realize this but no apps so far.
Why SMS and Email: I forward all sms's from my tab to my phone so i can react to them if i haven't got my tab with me. I consider sms's to be transient in that its impossible to save them permanently. If they are forwarded to my email then I can filter them off and store the important ones "permanently"

Why not just use another method? There are tons of apps for android to allow you to make free phone calls from the prime. There might be a way around doing it through browser. I never really messed with the Google one.
I wouldn't be waisting my time complaining here if there was other alternates. there is no other service out there that offers free VOIP phone calls through the US except Google's phone through Gmail.
Google Gmail phone is the first of its kind that I seen since the old phonefree.com and Net2Phone offering free VOIP calls, although those had limits, Google has no limits for US callers.
For the life of me I can't figure out why this is not available to a Google Android operating system. If they at the very least designed Chrome Beta like the Windows Chrome browser, the service would be available. But no!!! Chrome Beta and ICS Browser are like imitation browsers compared to the browsers on the Windows platform that these services are usable on.
Because carriers dont want you to be able to easily make voip calls they want you to buy more minutes from them. Androids sucess and profitability depends on the carriers selling phones running android.

The "gmail phone" you speak of is an extension of google voice. Sign up for a google voice number and login with your google id on the grooveip app.
Voila! free calls to US/Canada from anywhere in the world.
I live in Dubai and use it to call my GF in New york all the time.
Gee, it's too bad there are no alternatives that allow you to make free VOIP calls.
Something like SIPDroid sure would be handy. Well if you can't get SIPDroid on your Prime maybe there is another possibility (or 5).
Maybe if you'd ask about something rather than just gripe and moan, assuming that it can't be done, you'd get some assistance rather than a dose of sarcasm.
You might not want to try to set up a SIP provider though. It will take some research, some reading, and you might have to <gasp> Google for some information. Nevermind the possibility of searching on XDA for information.
People say I'm critical, but that's part of critical thinking. That's a skill you may want to try to develop.

Looks great!
I purchased. Very good. By far the best I've seen. Good application. Smartwatch Sony 3.

Thank you! Very pleasure for me! I plan to develop new features for this app in further updates.
This looks very nice, but I have a general question. What is the advantage of using a phone dialer on an Android Wear watch? Since there's no speaker, so you can't have a phone conversation on the watch and would have to dig out your phone anyway. I guess you could dial a call and talk on your Bluetooth headset, but I use voice dialing for that.

Thanks
Good question. I wrote it to use with Bluetooth headset because voice dialing does not work cleanly for me for some reason (often call a wrong number). Also I don't like persuade my phone to make a call in a public place with my voice. I want simple choose a contact from the list When the phone is hidden under outer clothing (winter) or in a bag it's very convenient to make call with watch (as for me).

Ah, that makes good sense, thanks! I also have some contacts and businesses that voice dialing doesn't work well for. I just bought it and here's the link, in case others are having trouble finding it: Mod Edit: link removed

Thank you! :good:
So far so good! Any chance you could add a way to distinguish which number is which for contacts with multiple numbers? Just H, M, and W for home, mobile, and work would be fine.

You did it man, many thanks! I haven't played with it much yet, but it seems that if I click on a contact and then swipe it away, it goes back to the beginning of the list instead of where I was in the scroll. In other words, if I look at a Smith and swipe it away, I'm back at Adams instead of Smith. I don't know if that can be fixed or not. Overall, it's great!
Good update!!!

You're welcome, that was not too hard Thanks again!
I'll try to solve the problem with return to contacts list as soon as possible, actually I'm already thinking about it because it annoys me too)
Nice look! Purchased! One thing to note, I don't seem to be able to sync the call log from my Motorola Droid Turbo to my Moto 360. The colored wheel just spins. I even cleared my call log but no change. Still, a nice looking app!

Thanks for purchase and sorry for bug! I'll try to reproduce it and fix as soon as possible!
It seems this bug is reproduced rarely (on my device) when you come to the call log activity or to the contacts/favs activity for the first time. I'm working on this watch->phone connectivity issue now. I hope to solve it at next weekend.
A minor update will be available tomorrow which is mostly dedicated to tablets support.

I've noticed that myself from time to time. Sometimes when I first start the app, none of the buttons respond. If I close and reopen they work fine. Maybe it's just a delay pulling the data from the phone.

Yes, exactly. This is due to Bluetooth slow speed + sometimes reconnection between the watch and the phone. When a reconnection occurs it seems I may loose data so you need to reopen activity. But I hope to fix it soon.
PS It's late night here so I'm going sleep right now, bye
With this app, i can speak trought my wear device during a call?
