Hello all recently my girlfriend attempted to root my galaxy s2 however when shes done it there seems to be a issue. The phone was working fine on jelly bean v4.2.1 i believe till she done tried to root it and now when i attempt to turn/boot the phone up it gives me a static yellow triangle and pops up with ICS with a strange icon and then stops from there . I was wondering if any of you guys could assist me with fixing the phone and provide me with the correct files in order to fix it without damaging it any more. flash a full package 2.3 with odin and then downgrade to 2.2. downgrading to 2.2 tutorial is somewhere in this forum just search. if u r not getting ll help you

i have a stock att galaxy note i717 with the ota ics on it im trying to root the phone im trying to find everything i need to root it and then i most likely flash a rom but dont know what rom just yet any opinions are welcomed but back to the question now i have odin3 v1.85 already on my lap top now what else do i need and where can i get it then any directions would be great thank you for any help

I just finished rooting mine the other day. The info you need is in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002555. The only thing I had to do differently was get an updated version of superuser.
This has been asked a few million times. I posted a link the other day that was the best explained, easiest way that I used.

ive done downloaded everything i needed but odin will not see my phone my lap top sees it i can transfer files but odin does not see the phone i even put kies on my lap top and still nothing any ideas y

Okay, so I have a Galaxy s2 i777 (At&t) version as my phone. The other day I rooted it and then I didn't like it was because my youtube and my camera wouldn't work so I tried to factory reset it right on the phone menu in the back up and reset section but all it did was turn off my phone and it wouldn't boot. I brung it to At&t customer service and they said that it usually voids the warranty but they'll give me a chance so they did a whole factory reset on my phone. Okay, so i learned my lesson that i got a bad Siyah kernal and i retried to root it yesterday and it worked perfectly. I also installed ShoStock 3 for the jelly bean rom and i got it. I got this rom on youtube, and he said that if I added this Siyah kernal, it was more smooth and better so i added the zipped siyah kernal into my internal sd from my computer. So I wanted to go into Clockwork Mod recovery so on the app Rom Manager, I pressed reboot in clockwork recovery mode and my phone turned off. Usually it would go into Clockwork mod recovery mode but this time it just froze on the Samsung Logo and it wouldn't turn on. I tried to take out the battery and it wont go into recovery mode. I will go into download mode though. Please Help if you know this situation. thanks.

2. Download mode > flash zimage from shostock3 zip in the pda slot of Odin.

hey guys, this is my first time posting. just recently i used galaxys2root to try and root my s2 i9100. unfortunately, when it was the last step and it told me to reboot i got stuck on the black screen with a yellow triangle. i am aware there were many who have had similar cases to me but as i am in a state of panic right now i cant focus on the threads and reading them all. so please, if someone could guide me through. also, i heard doing a factory reset works and have tried it, but nothing happened and now i dont have any data on my phone either. PLEASE HELP!!!

I've tried MotoChopper, a series of different CF-AutoRoot files and neither have given any luck. Odin stops right after SuperUser.apk is pushed over and gives the "Threads failed: 1 Success: 0" message.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in Advance.

and are you running stock or custom and look it up on the galaxy s4 troubleshooting page before you post here

I have a galaxy s4 att 4.4 and have been wondering the same thing. Seems like no one has found and way to root the phone yet. As for the guy who flipped out in the post above. Give it a break man. This website is made so a bunch of developers can come together and help each other out and fix problems. There should be no putting down just because it was put on the wrong thread or whatever. It's the people like you that ruin the fun in hacking for all of us. If there's already a thread then just tell the owner of this one or any one nicely and point them in the right direction with a Link or something. No need to be mean.

Was this done on a phone with a Canadian wireless service? I don't know how similar the phones are between the US and Canada (pardon my naivete), but if so, how risky is this root method for a US phone?

I just registered to say I am in the same situation. I just got a Galaxy S4 i337 with 4.4.2 from AT&T and I am already desperate to get it rooted. My 64GB Micro SD card is going to be almost useless until I do thanks to Google royally screwing over my ability to use external storage, and I'm already almost out of internal storage. I am hesitant to try something for i337M if it's untested with i337, and I'm not about to risk bricking my brand new phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
