Does anyone have a stock browser? Looks like my phone only came with Chrome. I liked the stock browser. Why would they not include it?

Yes. People use other browsers than chrome. Taking away the s5 and LG browser also takes away features.
Doesn't the g3 browser have more copy and paste options? Like a direct link to a dictionary for highlighted words? I just hate the way Verizon decides we don't want that. What's the point?

I wonder if we could pull the stock browser out of xdabbeb's g2 rom and use it on the g3 since its works on 4.4.2. I would try it, but I have not rooted yet.

This was nice as it worked with qslide. I think it was chrome based, though not a problem.
I wonder if @xdabbeb could make the stock brower for the LG G3 work on the Verizon G3 as he was able to do it with the G2. I saw that he fixed the tethering app for the G3 and seams to be very knowledgeable about the LG OS.

I have a Optimus V rooted and running the Reborn Rom. I was wondering if there was a way to configure or mod or fix the Sprint TV app so it works on the Optimus V? I have the app and it runs but when I try and click anything gives me and error message saying its having trouble communicating and if to try again later. Is there away around this maybe PRL? or is this not possible? any help you could give would be of great assistance

Thank you very much! Ya I also tried the NFL app it didnt work.
I had another thought, to install netflix you had to change some lines or programming to think it was an HTC phone. Maybe this would work if we changed it to think the TV app thinks the phone is a sprint phone? Optimus S maybe?

No, it identifies your phone and carrier through the towers, that's why you can't use it with wifi, it probably goes by your MLS number, Netflix just searched for phone model in the phone its self

So a no go unless you could find a way to change the way the app checks ur fone. Too bad LG world isn't supported by Virgin Mobile either :-(

Don't know this has been noticed or mentioned before but it looks Sprint may have forced Google's hand & had them remove all of the tethering apps. I just rooted a friend's Evo Shift for him & noticed none of the tether apps were on the Market. Then checked from my phone & got this:

Thats strange. U can always hack the sprint hotspot. Thats what i use or just download .apks off of sites like 4shared or xda

I noticed them slowly doing this... Best thing to use is Market Enabler for root users, or download the apk from another site.
Trying to be as helpful as I can.
didn't get either of those messages when i looked for them.
either way, i back up all my apps for this very reason. you never know when one of them won't be available anymore.
i have about 4 different mp3 dl's on my 3d right now... none of which are available on the market anymore. lol

Just did a search some popped up but get WiFi tether with yellow WiFi symbol it allows ps3 network to work I forget if its adhoc or other.

I wonder if Sprint is hoping that root users buy their expensive tethering plan or stop using illegal tethering methods and free up some network traffic. I doubt either will happen.

Something is lost in the translation of that story, or it's totally made up.
Lookup "Wireless Tether for Root Users" on the Android Market. It's there
along with a few others. Frankly, I don't see much change from over a month ago. Pretty much the same variety of tethering apps as before.
Author's webpage for the app I mentioned is still on code dot google dot com.
Look up "android-wifi-tether" on that website for the specific page.
It's the one I downloaded over a month ago and it's still there today.
Works great.
Hmmm...have to check out that Hotspot hack. Sounds very interesting and possibly a cleaner way to achieve the same thing.
None of the tethering apps are still in the market for me. Nothing shows up when I search for them.

I know...it's pretty stupid. I use it all the time to check on my daughter's data use.
The app works fine over phone data. I do not have WiFi at home since I use my phone as my home internet.

I'm using Thundershed 1.6 w Zoom Kernel. My Verizon works for me. I downloaded it through GooglePlay. Only thing is it doesn't auto log me in and it comes up with a missing info page when click but you simply click ok and it brings you to the login for the app and works from there. The data widget no long auto updates either. You have to click on it, log in to update it each time. Can use it on 3g/wifi/4g.
Maybe check out google play to see you have the latest version?
Since day one both of those icons are always on together. Why would I need 4G if my WiFi is in use? I wouldn't. So why show the stupid icon? I'm on the original stock ROM and rooted but it has been doing this since I got it before ever doing so much as downloading an app. It used to happen randomly and now it's constant. What gives? Is that just how Verizon rolls or what? MDK Stock.

Happened to me too. Its caused by the City-Id/ Caller-id app that verizon has preinstalled because it automatically gives you a free trial and it needs to connect back to verizon through the cellular network. All you have to do is disable the app or open the app and stop the trial (disabling works best).

It's actually a ripoff. There is a better app on the playstore that has the same functionality as the verizon city-id, but it's free, and also adds the weather of the person who's calling. It's called Current Caller ID (by whitepages). Take a look at it when you get the chance.

Anyone know what this is? I started getting these on the sense 5 rom and now I'm stock and got it again. Happened when a friend tried to send a pic. They had to send it twice for it to work.

I got those when I went from a feature phone to smartphone.
I blocked the number but a call to CS should fix it. I'm blaming the iPhone.

It only started happening after I ran AOSP and Sense 5 based roms recently. Got it on sense 5 and restored and started getting it on stock as well. I tried googling the issue and got nothing. Not sure verizons goons are gonna be able to do anything.
Verizon support is not the best. Most don't even know what they are talking about. When I called once to get my data working again on my continuum the guy who I got had the same phone and he said he had the same problem but his data was just turned off and he didn't even know...

Nope. Was running NOS vzw sense 5 and never messed with my APN. Seems like thats all normal though. Only happens when my friend with her iphone tries to send me a pic. The message in thr screenshot will show up and she'll have to send again for it to work. Android to android seems to work fine.

Google search for vnd.wap.mms and you'll find info. It should've cleared itself by now though.
