[Q] Touchwiz for the yp gi1 (gp 4.2) - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Are there any working touchwiz roms for the yp gi1?
If anyone knows of a working touchwiz rom for it pm me.

Are you talking about a launcher or fully themed rom.
If you're talking about a launcher than you should be able to use https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5+apk&pcampaignid=APPU_5jLMU6imHYrfoATNwoK4Bg which is a touchwiz 5.0 laucher or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944472 which is a modified (better version) of touchwi 4.0
If you're talking about a rom then I don't know of any. Your best bet is to wait for a port of CM11. I remember reading in the 3.6 that once the dev gets CM11 fully working on that device then they will port it to the 4.2. After that you can just use the CM11 theme chooser.

I need a rom a fully themed one too.
the gp has touchwiz 3 which is pretty ugly so i wanted touchwiz 4 or 5 .There are roms but most of them the download links are dead. and cm11 would not be made for it because the cm7 they made was not even fully completed.

Yeah touchwiz isn't that great for the galaxy players. I'll go look again to see if I can find a themed rom. Also I believe with CM 11 that many of the devs that were working on the 4.0/5.0 helped out so it is possible that CM11 will be ported and fully functioing.

Yes they are available:
touchwiz home launcher:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531518
Touchwiz rom(CM7 based):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538633
touchwiz4
touchwiz4.0 is only compatable with armv7 devices as of now so we wont be getting touchwiz4.0
however, touchwiz 3.0 is easy to install install if over cm7.2 and a touchwiz theme and you basically have a touchwiz port
ah i see, bummer oh well!

Best ICS-only Launcher for the upcoming Rom...

With the progress being made toward an ICS ROM port (link below) for our beloved Streak5, I thought I would ask for opinions on which Launcher would be best to run on it.
Feel free to add a post as to reasons.
The only available options I've found are as follows:
* AOSP (the vanilla android launcher)
* Apex (from 'Android Does')
* Nova (from 'TeslaCoil Software')
* Trebuchet (from CyanogenMod 9)
:fingers-crossed:
[ROM][Early pre-alpha] AOSP ICS 4.0.4_r2.1 for DS5
Just realized there are many similar threads to this one on various different device forums.
Not meaning to reinvent the wheel here, so I'll leave it up to the Mods to decide on whether there is merit to having a Dell Streak 5 specific topic regarding which one works best for our hardware/rom... or just lock this thread and be done with it.
Thanks.
:cyclops:
This thread might have some merit as:
The S5 is one of the few WVGA 160dpi devices (at least it would be if the ICS rom wasnt set to 240dpi), pretty much all phones are 240dpi
But a counterpoint is that there are very few ICS only launchers as that means not being compatable with 93% of your market (at least according to google [Link])
The trebuchet launcher from CM9 supposedly works on stock ICS, and it's ICS only as it's an enhanced stock ICS launcher(?).
At least with a custom launcher and 160dpi you can use the Stage 1.7 widgets, they're pretty nice on my S7/S10/touchpad
(The stock launcher is 4x4 grid and stage 1.7 needs at least 5x5)
ADW and ADWex have worked fine on HC/ICS for a while and are native apps on those, they simply have no reason to make seperate HC/ICS only versions.
this is depend on dev who release the rom or his rom type. once ICS is ported into our DS5, there will be a lot more port from others OS (AOSP, AOKP, CM9, MIUI4 etc etc). but everyone can choose...its in Market as long Android 4.++
Don't leave Holo Launcher out of the mix. I'm currently running it on the ICS rom an its working great

I no longer have a Streak, but on my Samsung Skyrocket I tried all of the ICS only launchers when I was running ICS and I just keep coming back to Launcher Pro.
I have the nova on my streak 7 I like it first one that was closer to stock vanilla IMO

Is there a ROM like this....

When I had my S2 there was a ROM that was built on Touchwiz but had stock features and apps integrated - such as messages, calendar, launcher...and all obvious Touchwiz features removed. This is the best of both worlds for me.
Is there a simple stockified Touchwiz based ROM for the S3, or is there a reason that this isn't possible?
There is such a dizzying array of ROMs on here that it's hard to know where to start looking for such a thing!
Thanks guys.
I run UltimaROM, It' based on on stock JB but themed like the AOSP one. Also it has Aroma installer and you can customize allmost everything you can imagine!

You can try Anroid Revolution HD

I would also suggest UltimaRom. You can install whatever you like with the help on AROMA.
I have removed touchwiz from my s3 and removed many default applications . Now my phone is faster than ever. It's completely customised and I love it.

Theme stock touchwiz

Would it be possible to theme stock touchwiz 4.1.2 to look like stock jellybean?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Huh?
Stock jelly bean has touchwiz.
Touchwiz is a framework exclusive to Samsung devices. So when you buy a Samsung phone you probably have touchwiz.
There are different versions of jellybean that don't have touchwiz that you can load onto a Samsung device. Like AOSP, AOKP, and many many more!
All roms can be themed. Some are more difficult than others and require more steps to do so.
What rom theme do you like?
Yeah I mean theme a touchwiz rom to look like stock aosp. Is that possible? I have no idea how to theme otherwise I would have tried to myself...

First off AOSP is Android Open Source Project. It's as basic as it gets. It doesn't have touchwiz, sense, or stuff like that. So it doesn't have a theme, it's raw.
If you want to theme the stock samsung rom first you deodex the rom. Then you can theme it. Beginners use xposed framework and various modules. Smart guys on here can decompile and edit code and files. Smart people that don't have the time to edit roms download already theme'd, cool, kick ass roms from here! I'm a noob so I google a LOT and use a combo of both to get what I like.
It has a theme... the os isn't freaking invisible stop being difficult.
He wants TouchWiz to look like vanilla android.
The look of stock android (meaning what is shipped on nexus devices) ics and above is called "holo" btw
You'd need a deodexed Rom, then you'd have to get the images from vanilla and place them in the corresponding apks in TouchWiz AND add the double called images into the TouchWiz framework specific apks and change any color Code xmls to holo blue.
If you just want the "look", a temporary solution is you could also install nova (or apex launcher) and then use the jellybean theme for nova or apex. I also froze TW launcher in Titanium Backup and installed the JB keyboard.
I did this after flashing Padawan JB rom, which is a Touchwiz/4.1.2 based rom.
