Except this is more of a discussion about the question, not really Q&A material.
OP I don't use one, mainly because I don't have one if I did I would probably use it.
No offence OP, but this should be in the accessories forum, I do believe, so on your behalf ©®™ for moving
Bought two anker batteries at the same time I bought the phone, the Samsung battery is still in the box and I've never used the phone to charge. Swap the battery between the phone and charger every second morning, it's the first smart phone I've not had to worry about battery life.
Galaxy S III has a really good battery life so I don't use an extended battery

I've always been a battery swapper since the early Nokia days. Can't bear the thought of not having a fresh battery there ready to go when I am. No waiting for phone to charge at the last minute when heading out of the door.
Ah, maybe I should note that for most tasks I use my Nexus 7 . Oops-a-daisy. I use Galaxy S 3 mainly for music and when I study on bus. No gaming or movies.

boomboomer I was looking at the anker batteries when i first got the phone last year too.. but ended up going with this official samsung kit that had a spare that game with it. What capacity Anker's did you end up getting? I had a look at those big 4400mAh ones as a backup for when travelling overseas but never went through with getting one.
the one thing i hated about the iphone 4 I had last was waiting for sufficient charge whenever I had to quickly be somewhere unexpectedly. Some times Id go out for a few beers in the evening with a low charge thinking id be home soon.. end up having many, many more and so Id end up with a dead phone as im trying to find a way home.
Can honestly say that I havent ever had that issue again since investing in this phone and extra battery haha.
The ankers are the same physical size as the standard battery, just 2200mAh. The only draw back is the capacity drops quickly once below 10%, but I usually swap battery when it gets below 20%.

I use one. love it. All Samsung Galaxy S III phones ships with an extra battery so why not use it? So convenient to have one always charged in the battery charger and your phone charged with wireless charging. Qi!
R: [Q] Anyone else use spare battery?
I bkught a 2800mah battery a while ago...great, lasts a lot.
If i ever need another battery i will put back the old one...i could of course get ANOTHER 2800 and then keep switchingg it...but it would be tiresome...thats why they made rechargeable batterues in the first place...as soon as the battery wears out (5months my guess it will be 40-50% worse than when u first started using it) get another one. If you go on a trip and forget the charger, pop spare under the hood and hit low energy mode!

Attention for every fellow xdaian with battery problem in LG L9

Attention for battery issuses...
Recently my phone started acting weird...like my battery charging to full in more than 4 and a half hours...discharging quickly then in 6 hours...or sometimes i noticed my battery percentage struck at a level(example at 95%) and the charge not going up from 95% even after connecting charger for more than a hour..
What happened. .
Since i am a 4 year old Lg mobile customer(started with THE VERY FIRST OPTIMUS-GT540) i knew the service centre executives very well..when i decided to pay em a visit and explained my problem...they checked my battery, charger, and its cable. After that they took my phone and told me that IT WAS NOT BATTERY PROBLEM...RATHER THAN THE CHARGE PORT PROBLEM. .
EVERY L9 OWNER CAN CHECK IT...
there is a major design defect in every L9.as you can see, .the charge pin is placed way past (inside the phone ) from the actual charging pin hole in L9 body...which is rare considering in every phone the charging pin is placed right next to outermost part of hole created in the phones body...
OKAY...BUT WHATS THE PROBLEM WITH THAT. ..
the problem is ..since i/o port or charging port is way inside...so it is eventually going to get screwed faster by multiple insertion of charging cable into it(for charging your phone Lol) that means its a major defect and because of this design flaw...your charging pin is going to become wreck very sooner as compared to other mobile devices(depends upon your usage too...mine got f##kd in 4 months due to heavy usage). So if you are experiencing any problems related to battery like i did...dont blame the poor lithium ion fellow...instead get your port replaced...
#Note..ive been given an appointment of wednesday to change it for free..(in warranty) normally it costs around $15 in India.
#May your phone remain intact as long as it belongs to you...
Tmobile has no idea what about any port defect, neither did the LG rep I talked to.
this is total b.s.
No bs! My old LG (P970) already had the.same problem. Many devices had broken USB ports, but of course it either takes a lot time, or a rough/intense usage, to break that thing.
Just my 2 cents.

Can the port be replaced for a reasonable fee or the phone is dead if that occurs?
people break their ports because they treat them poorly. to say the l9 has a major design flaw is laughable. sure there are problems with individual handsets but to make users think their bad battery life is a result of the port being a design flaw and just to get it replaced is foolish. usually when i see port problems at work it's because the people are idiots and damage it themselves or dump liquid on it, get stuff jammed in there. i feel like the l9 is well above average in this regard, in fact at least on my handset the port feels better than most devices i've had my hands on. treat your things well and they will work like they should.

I see your point, but I feel differently. Yes there are lots of idiots, who damage their ports, but I think it is a design flaw concerning all micro USB ports in general.
My port e.g doesnt seem to be straight. Sometimes i gotta fiddle a little, till I get the cable in. Did you ever try to get the cable in, when it was dark? It s pretty sure, you ll try it the wrong way around.
Iphone port is a perfect example, of what it should look and be like.
Oh and battery drain probably really has got nothing to do with it.

port is not defective...but the way it is placed inside the phone body makes its wear and tear a lot to happen than other phones...its not a company agreed defect..but the port gets ripped off a lot faster due to its deep placing..that's all.

please read carefully...i said if your charge gets stuck at a level example 95% even if u connected charger for a while or your phone disconnects/reconnects from charge when given a little tap...then its a i/o port defect..if this defect persists in your phone...then your BATTERY wont be charged in less than 3 hours..and will give erratic battery life response. .rest known...every machine performs different to its master.i hope u understand

you have to actually TEST the battery to see if it's good. i work with Cadex 7400ER.. google it. its a commercial analyzer. People get rid of good batteries all the time. I have a box at work with good smartphone batteries.. most samsung. I took a good hard look at my device and i couldnt find anything to support your statement devil, sorry. I get days on my battery.. on 10g, 20d, and CM 10.1 and 10.2. Sometimes had to get some wakelocks under control but no big deal after that. The phone model i've seen the most port problems on is the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Epic 4g Sprint. love you guys.

Yes I am , thank you, cause the slow charge issue was elaborated and mentioned so many time around XDA but seems no one cares to search and read.
This phone with and with original charger, and AFTER teh update from Gingerbread to ICS/JB is charging as per specs. On Gingerbread there was a flaw that permitted to charge it upto 900-1000 mA but the phone was rather hot, I recall charging mine in an hour and a half or 15-20 minutes more, from 2-3% to 100% back when phone had GingerBread.

You can use 2.1A output chargers too, it is simply not going to draw all that but you might get the better on the go recharging while you're using the phone with heavy apps. Just think of the dual car chargers - they have both 1A (phone) and 2.1A (tablet) output. SatNav on 1A is zeroing or still draining your phone battery, while 2A can slowly charge it on the go.
You just give it a needed juice and if the discharge is so greater then recharge, there's not much you can do about it.
Call it a flaw, but Samsung did it cause of longevity of their batteries and li-ion technology.
That is why I indicated iCrap and BB - their fast charge is provoking rather fast discharge too cause the battery will not hold it. I have colleagues with BB who're charging in an hour but get their phones depleted in 3 hours of usage... I wouldn't want that from my S2 for sure. :good:

It doesn't matter what the output current of the charger is... the phone will only draw 650mA.
The charger I got with my S2 delivers 1A but my phone only draws 650mA. Actually the hardware doesn't support it.
IMO, 3hrs is pretty fast for a full charge.
Edit: Just noticed that Fevves already mentioned all that...
adressing sfafrorn
Some kernels have the Option to change the charge rate but even at 650mA the phone will get very hot if you are doing something on it while charging

All of these magic batteries are either rebranded or just cheap batteries with stickers covering the actual labels.

I got them but I haven't tested fully yet. I charged them and ran one down to 0 and fully charged it for 12 hours. I meant to bring it today to see how it held up but I forgot it. When you put in any new battery the device goes through this crazy battery drain syncing and such so I didn't want to reply until I cycled it a couple times. But my first impressions are good, as I said I loved them on my Note 2 and I'm sure they will be fine on the 3. A little side note, my Note 2 battery lasted longer than my Note 3 does.

Well it started off good and then at around 50 percent it died extremely fast. I have my second battery with me, I am going to calibrate it and see if that helps. The stock battery lasts a but longer but I'm hoping this is just a cycle issue and it will get better with time. My Note 2 had a similar issue in the beginning but the batteries got better.
Note 3 Pimp Slapped
Wow. Peel the label off to see what it really is.
I'm hoping it's just requires a cycle but I'm with poster above. Everything was going good just before 50%. Then it dropped rapidly

I'd be interested in an update too but the reviews on Amazon don't look too promising. 3/5 stars.
Here's my quick review. Don't waste your money. You get what you pay for with this one. I gave the batteries a couple of cycles, and they don't even last as long as the original. As soon as the charge is at 100% within 5 min it drops to 95%, and then a steady drop after that. Both batteries are the same, so it's not like one is bad. The original can last much longer. I've had extended batteries from other companies, and these are by far the worst. My top two are Mugen and ZeroLemon. Stick with those brands.

The 45w should speed up 0-50/70% but if over all it's only speeding up 0-100% bynsay 5 minutes then it will not be saving a lot of time 0-70 either (as both should charge at similar speeds 70-100%).

Also works great on laptops/chromebooks or whatever else you got. Good for when you just want 1 thing when traveling.

Yeah from what I briefly read it needs over 100w to be effective and 130-140w is optimal. 60w is the least it will even accept a charge from. Shucks I'll maybe try it for fun but doesn't sound promising lol

I've used my 45w Lenovo Laptop USB C charger before, and it works just fine... not a major charging speed difference though.
A question to a question. The Note 10 used USB-PD PPS? I thought the S20s were the first to have this. Or were they the first to be certified?
I can confirm this works, got the phone yesterday
