[Q] ROM Problem: Ace S5830i (with S5830 ROM) - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I'm here to seek guidance on a problem that has arisen with the mobile phone of my friend. The phone concerned is the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. He told me that he accidentally put the stock ROM of the S5830 (without i) and since that moment on every boot it stops every times at the screen with name of the smartphone. Do you have any idea what happened? it is a hardbrick or soft brick? How could we try to solve the problem?
Thank you very much

See if you can enter the Recovery Mode and Download Mode. If you can enter the Download Mode, then its just a soft-brick. You can solve this by just flashing the stock rom back using odin from Download Mode. If you can neither enter the Recovery Mode nor Download Mode, then its a hard-brick. In this case, you can try using USB Jig to force open the Download Mode. But let me tell you beforehand it is not always guaranteed to work. If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode so you can flash stock rom back using odin. If USB Jig doesn't work either, then your last option is to consult the Service Center. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

I have tried like u said me and i have notice that only recovery mode can be reached, the download mode do not start. Do u have any ideas? I must create a USB Jig or can i fix with odin ??

You can't fix with odin since you can't enter Download Mode. Since you can enter CWM, do Wipe data/ factory partition, Wipe cache partition, Mounts & Storage> Format /system, Advanced> Wipe Dalvik cache from CWM and then install a custom rom for your device from it. See if it works. If that doesn't work either, then you can try using USB Jig or consulting Service Center. The problem with USB Jig is that it is not always guaranteed to work. There are cases where it did work with S5830i but there are also cases where it didn't work. So it is more or less a gamble. You can either buy one or make one. To make a USB Jig, follow the instructions here. You can always consult the Service Center and they are guaranteed to revive your phone but might be a bit costly. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

Does it boot into recovery mode?
Press Volume UP + Home + Power keys until recovery menu appears.
If yes, then try to wipe cache (and Dalvik cache), fix permissions and reboot.
If that does not help, you may have to wipe data (do a factory reset).
If recovery mode does not work, then your phone seems to be semi-/soft- bricked.
You will have to get the phone connected to your PC in download mode to repair it.
Here is the correspsonding thread about hw to fix a soft-bricked phone => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
Good luck !
i have gotten it into download mode but my computer does not see the device
Install samsung kies?
have that installed, reinstalled, and i installed all the drivers. it was working but after the odin flash failed i couldnt get it to connect. right now im building a jib for the phone.
so built jig, now im sad..... it did nothing, now either i have to send it in or some one might know a way to fix it

[Q] i9300 keep rebooting and never turn on

Hi everyone.
I have a i9300 and it is stuck in rebooting.
Power key is ok.
I can get it to download mode or recovery mode.
I can wipe cache and partition but nothing change, it keeps rebooting.
I cant use odin because odin didn't see the phone,
I think USB debugging wasn't on. But I cant find a way to open it without turning on.
I am looking for possibilities and solution for 2 days and I cant find any. Please help me.
bootloop
It seems you are stuck in a boot loop. Try clearing the cache & perform a full factory wipe. Then reboot your device.
Hope that helps.

I both try 4.1.2 (with odin) and 4.3 (with octopus) but it keeps rebooting.
I also use octopus box to flash and repair efs.

If you've cleared the partition structure then you've turned a possible soft brick into a hard brick, you'll need a new motherboard now.
Try flashing the rescue firmware, from the thread in general, but I wouldn't hold out any hope.

same problem but worse please help
HI guys i have exactly the same problem but my bootloop was caused by installing recovery through the cwm app and then rebooting to recovery through the app. i rebooted to recovery with an app before and it caused this aswell ...however back then my volume down button was working. i fixed it last time by going into download mode and flashing philz recovery however i cant enter download mode or recovery or boot into system.
PS: my phone doesnt boot into recovery it comes up with the samsung galaxy s3 gt 19300 logo then it comes up with the cwm recovery icon in the middle of my screen and 'clockwordmod recovery v6.0.6.4' at the bottom of the screen then restarts itself.
i dont know what to try i have looked around, didnt want to create a new thread just wanted to find out if anyone has any idea of what i can do except for buying a new volume down button thats my last resort apprently its £35 to fix
easy way to fill up you thanks meter guys as any sort of input and advice is extremely appreciated.
alphadavid99 you fried your lcd when you flashed cwm made for note in the other thread.
Hi i have the issue... I am able to get in Recovery and Download Mode.
While in recovery i had formatted the whole internal memory and tried flashing about three AOSP ROMs (Formatting each time before Flashing) but the only result was the endless boot up screen (not boot loop).
Then i tried flashing a sammy ROM and it worked...
Could someone tell me why am I able to flash Sammy ROM but not AOSP (such as ARCHIDROID & SLIMBEAN).
My Model is GT-i9300
Current Modem - XXUGMK6
Current ROM - S4 Revolution ROM (TM)
Thanks in advance for your time if someone has any suggestions

[Q] Cold dead hard brick S5830i - what is the last resort?

The story:
Got a phone with some software problems when calling from a spouse. Tried to update the ROM and it bricked.
Status:
endless loop of bootscreen
could enter recovery mode and boot CWR
can not enter download mode
unable to boot system
Tried endless guides and instructions with stock ROM's and firmwares. Some of them installed some didnt - none worked. Still in endless loop.
Gave up yesterday and went to bed to keep trying today.
Now its totally bricked.
- no recovery mode
- no download mode
- no boot screen
- cant connect to PC via USB (Odin wont recoqnize)
The only sign of life - whatever I do it has black screen with backlight on but nothing else.
What can I do? They say that a broken phone is only with hardware problems but could I have f**** up the software so much that its the same?

You can try this guide by @SuperMini to force open Download Mode from odin. Here is the link,
How to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace
Make sure to use the key combination of Download Mode for your device as the one mentioned in the guide is for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. If that doesn't work, then you can try the USB Jig (not always guaranteed to work). If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode so you can flash stock rom back using odin. If USB Jig doesn't work either, then your last option is to consult the Service Center. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

1. make sure you have installed drivers on your computer
2. remove battery > connect phone to computer > press volume buttons and lock key
3. if you get a black screen just press the volume up button.
odin will recognize the device
if this does not work then try multi-formatter
using it, format rfs partition and then install some custom rom.

First of all, always post the questions in the respective device thread. S5830 and S5830i are two different devices. Next make sure to post such question in your device's Q/A section. Anyway can you enter Recovery Mode and Download Mode? Try flashing the stock rom again. Also do Wipe data/ factory reset and wipe cache partitions once you flash the stock rom back. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
P.S. Reported to FM to move to right device section.

I'm assuming this is more of a hardware problem. Better consult the Service Center. Do post the result.

I make this error one time and i need go to a service for a JTAG flash..Need restore boot (i think).

Hello
I think that it's an easy fix.First, download another rom and make sure that it's for the i9100g not the i9100, why don't you download stock rom i9100g and then use a usb cable to copy it to the s2 i9100g, but in order for it to appear on open mounts and storage (i'm not sure if it is the same in twrp),so copy the rom which is FOR the i9100g and then flash it.Everything should be ok

The problem is that it won't go pass twrp. It couldnt even go to download mode. AFAIK there isnt any way to copy the files to the phone via USB cable without the phone booted or in download mode. But if what I said is wrong, please do enlighten me.

There should be a mounts and storage option in twrp, click mount sd, connect usb and then copy the file needed for flashing.
or you could try to flash a rom via odin, download samsung stock 4.1.2 and put your phone into download mode (press power button+home+volume down) and then connect a usb to flash the rom.If you have any questions related to this please ask.If the rom is installed successfully but you get a bootloop boot into stock recovery and wipe cache partion and do a factory data reset.
but I take no responsibility if your phone gets bricked or damaged
Thanks

It sounds like it could be soft bricked - might happen if the wrong phone model software has been flashed. The only way around this I know of is to get hold of a USB Jig. Its worth a try before the repair shop!
