I had taken out the sim card on my galaxy s5 to sell it. The phone was stolen, I reported it, got a brand new in box replacement from Assurant. I had already bought an LG G3 and had my old sim card in it. So the brand new GS5 came with a new sim card. Do i have to activate the GS5 with new sim card and then remove sim before selling it? or can I activate the GS5 with the old sim card, then take out that sim and put it back into my LG G3.... and then sell the GS5?

If the phone hasn't been opened yet, just leave it alone. It'll have more value if you don't mess with it. If your G3 works with the old sim card, tmobile didn't do anything to it and it'll likely keep working. Worst case if it stops working, go to tmobile and ask for another sim card for free.
Don't open the S5 box unless you want to lose resale value.

^ What he said with one caveat. If your new, replacement S5 isn't in a factory sealed box, take a moment to turn the S5 on and see if the SIM it came with is active on your account, More than likely it's a new and unused SIM that you could resell. But the occasional, proactive carrier might have reprogrammed a SIM for you and inserted it in the phone already.
Otherwise, as already suggested. If you want to sell the replacement S5, leave it intact, including the blank SIM. You already have a working SIM (your old SIM) in the G3 you intend to keep. You shouldn't need to activate the S5 if you are going to sell it.

Hi, so I currently have T-Mobile Monthly 4G with a regular sim card.
I am planning on buying the GS3 outright. Has anyone done this yet? How did you go about obtaining a micro sim-card?
I just called M4G c/service and they said to go into a t mobile store and purchase one. Problem is, when I got this 4g Plan in the first place, tmobile had no idea what it was, and the only way they could sell a sim card was to activate a phone. So I had to order it from tmobile.com...problem there is, there is no way to order a micro sim, only reg. sim.
I would hate to use a cutter. With my luck it'll split in half, or I have the bigger contact sim.

My store cut my payg sim down so I could use it. The cutter had a paper stapler style to it. It looked painless to be honest.

1. You can cut your current normal SIMCard
2. I believe you can get one free of charge from your telephone company (I received mine for free, O2 Germany)
I am asking this question because I am very new to AT&T coming from Sprint where I never had to mess with sim cards. I just bought the note 2 and I had to get a new thinner sim card for it. I just put the original note back to stock. Should I remove the sim card before selling it?
Go a head but it really doesn't matter...the sim in your other phone won't work anymore since you changed to another sim. Just take it out and toss it in the trash.

Anyways, on the site, when I click "bring my own phone", it asks for the imei, then the mfr model. But there are no Sony phones. What do I choose?

Well I can tell you the what I did for T-mobile, If your using a prepaid plan, which is what I did, I shouldnt be any different. I bought the Nano Sim Card For my Carrier, Which your looking to get an ATT NANO Sim Card, AT-T-GoPhone-Nano-SIM-Card-with-Standard-and-Micro-SIM-Adapters is what your looking for you can get them at walmart Then get your plan Card. Put the nano sim card in your Z5 compact, located on the side under neath the flap, there is going to be a Black nano sim card holder, ITS TINY, and hard to see, Its smaller then the mirco sd card slots below it. Place the sim card with the gold side facing you. Put the sim card with the holder in your phone. Turn on your phone, and follow At&t activation steps. Then they are going to ask for the Prepaid Plan code, Type it in. Bam you have service, If data doesnt work then you have to call and get the UPDATED API information. or wait a couple of hours

I've never bought a phone from another country and tried to activate it on AT&T. I assume I can buy from anywhere as long as it is (carrier) unlocked. AT&T asks what kind of phone I have in order to send me a sim card. This one isnt on the list. Which should I choose?
I bought a Note 3 with clean ESN and want to replace my old G3. Can I call Sprint or go online and have them swap the ICCID over to my new phone, or do I need to buy a new ICCID card? The one in my G3 is a SIMGLW216R if that makes a difference. Thanks for your help!
Just do it online. It will ask for new UICC number during the swap out. Or yes, you can give it to them when you activate on the phone.

Usually, it's just a case of contacting the cellphone company you bought it from, though there may be a fee to pay if you're under contract. if you're buying a new phone, there are various places that sell phones unlocked (which is the natural state of a smartphone, it's not until it gets into the hands of an operator that the locks appear). If you're just going for a short trip, you might consider a second-hand phone, or even a cheap Android handset. There's a site called Telestial that specialises in travel solutions, they have unlocked Galaxy s5's as well as a range of other unlocked phones.
