Yes. Works great.

Post a picture.

This might be a silly question, but it can't flash kernels can it?

It installed and I did a backup which took some time. I've no sources or anything. While it seems to work, I have no idea what else may come with it. But it works.

If this isnt fake than yes it could flash kernels, we don't have kernel source from LG yet though
Although, I'm not flashing this. until one of the people who made root a possibility points us to a recovery I won't be flashing one

I've flashed a font and made a backup. It works. However, I'd at least wait until a name you know says "yes, this is safe".

From the looks of this, you just followed instructions from this thread here now, even though this appears to have worked, I would not suggest going through with actually flashing anything or making backups.
The reason is partitions are different across some of the G3 devices and it would not be a smart idea to risk flashing something to a wrong partition, especially since there are 16 and 32 gb models.
With that, it looks like there is a bypass on the VZW model which is a good sign for future use.

so bootloader is unlocked??

Yes we can. This is no different than flashing a custom ROM using safestrap on a Samsung product. I don't think you guys realize how big this is. While its not a boot loader unlock, we will be able to flash custom Roms based on factory ROM.

Hoping we get Aosp soon.

Question about other carrier kernels

I feel like an idiot for asking this but here goes.....
I remember on the S3 that we could flash other carriers kernels and themes and the more I look into using a different kernel the mor it makes me wonder if we could use the AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint kernels on the VZW Note 2.

[LINK][TAR][VZW]SCH-I545 VRUAME7 Update file

Supposedly this update patches root and swaps the bootloader. Proceed at your own discretion.
Most recent VZW update that was discovered today.
I have not yet delved into the files to see exactly what this update updates. A few users have reported Apps2SD being included and a change in phone status that now displays a "Secure Boot Status Field" in addition to the SELinux Status field.

Does the dump include the modem? We desperately needed the modem to be ported to the international versions (I-9200 and I-9205). HSPA+ signals are very inconsistent and I believe porting the modem from the AT&T version will help us a lot.

[Q] Galaxy Mega 6.3 (Sprint) Compatible Roms??

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me any compatible roms, that work the Sprint Galaxy Mega 6.3? Everyone rom I try looks to be for a GSM device. I can't figure out any way to get my Sprint service on the device after flashing one I mess with the setting in each one, to search for Service Provided etc and have no luck.
Could anyone tell me which ones you have been successful with, and what you did to get CDMA services working on it?

Progress!
Alright, we could start seeing some progress on root/custom ROMs soon. With those things, I'd have no reason whatsoever to even consider the OnePlus 3
Just the kernel I think.
Does this include everything needed for a custom ROM? Camera HAL? Fingerprint sensor driver?
This isn't progress. This is kernel source. Axon Pro's kernel source was also released.

If you wanted to compile your own kernel, sure. There is nothing here to base a rom off of though. Bottom line is its useless without a boot loader unlock, no matter how many of us have the phone in our hands.

The kernel source code is what's needed from the manufacturer for custom Roms. Everything else can be extracted from the device. This can give a developer a headstart on device trees before the bootloader unlock.
