Shutter Button doesn't work with official camera app - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can launch the camera with the shutter button, but I haven't been able to take pictures in still camera modes, the only ones it accepts is AR EFFECTS and TIMESHIFT BURST. I can record videos with the shutter button... However using other apps like Camera360 or Google Camera allow me to take still pics. Could that be a configuration problem? or something else?
By the way... Is there a way to change vibration intensity for incoming calls?

Try uninstalling any third party apps, I do not know why it stops the stock camera from working correctly.
Edit: third party camera apps.

its happend if u using some XPOSED modules.

I have also found that at times my case makes the button quit working.

[Q] Zoom with a camera

I can't zoom in or out with my X10 mini, can anyone do that?
Best regards.
No zoom function on the x10 mini. Try a program like vignette which has a workaround.
I need a camera app having "Antishake". The shutter on Mini is a bit quirky and makes my photos shake everytime when I press it to shoot the frame after auto focus locks on the frame. So I require a camera app which will help to reduce/remove the shake by exposing the frame by say - Touching - any part of the screen. I have used one or two Camera apps like snap photo camera 360 etc which does this antishake but none of them recognises the camera flash. Does vignette recognise camera flash and has this antishake feature too?
Or can anybody recommend a Camera App having this Anti-Shake feature whicch works with Mini cmera flash and other functions.
Thanks
Edit:
I tried the app "Vignette" and all the basic things work. As added feature we get digi zoom and steady shot which I have tried and found good. There are many more features and effects which are also worth trying. Good app for Mini.

Camera button not working as shutter

I'm having an issue on new firmware, i guess it's unlocked-bootloader related but i'm not sure.
Camera button opens camera app, but i can only take pictures touching the screen, the camera button is not responding in the camera app. I installed firmware through Emma twice, and both times i experienced the same issue...
The button works for opening the app, and when i go to 4k mode works for starting and ending video shooting, but it's not working on camera mode as shutter.

[Q] Remap Camera button for Google Camera or another Camera

Title says it. I don't use my stock camera. I started using Googles camera which is lacking in features but it does take better photos than the stock camera does. At least before any filtering, etc. So without me using the stock camera. My camera hardware key/button/short cut is basically a dead button and its like a pet pieve for me. I don't have to use the Google camera but I really want to remap this camera button where its used to open another camera app. What options do I have? Seems with the few things I've experimented with only let me change the camera button for an action and not a application launch.
Thanks

How to disable shutter sound in Open Camera (on Huawei Mate 2).

Hi guys,
I had been using Open Camera recently. I love this app. But there is no option to disable the annoying shutter sound.
I researched online and apparently this depends on if the manufacturer (Huawei) allows you to or not.
If it is possible, can someone tell me how to disable the shutter sound?
Well, there is a mute option in the stock 5.1 camera so the manufacturer must allow it.
There are a bunch of apps out there that (to various degrees of success) mute the shutter sound. I don't have a full list but if you search for "camera sound off" on Google Play store you can try some free ones and see.

Focus problems on third party apps

Hi everybody,
I was looking to buy a gimbal for my phone, and to choose which one to buy I tested some camera apps that can be controlled by the gimbal (DJI and Zhiyun official apps, and Filmic).
I sadly noticed that although the LG Camera allows me to correctly focus from macro to infinite, on all these third party apps I can focus from macro to about a couple of meters far, not more.
Does anyone have the same bug? I'm running stock Oreo firmware with MK2000 kernel (necessary choiche, as Magisk breaks the flashlight when using the stock kernel).
I attach here my /system/vendor/etc/camera/camera_config.xml file, as it seems that playing with the TotalFocusDistance and MinFocusDistance values changes the behaviour of the manual focus wheel in the apps, but I still didn't find how to focus to the infinite.
Maybe I edited that file and I forgot about it?:silly:
EDIT: the problem only occours with manual focus. Autofocusing works great.
