[Q] headphone adaptor - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

i got a westone earphone , but the sound was terrible for note 3 even on my s3 , notice the jack looks different from a stock ear piece , do i need a good adaptor to convert it ? btw the length is the same , just stock headphones have a third groove

The extra grove allows the other headphones to use a MIC more than likely. Only need two for straight headphones. Splits up L and R audio.

But the sound is flat compare to a stock ear phones, it can't be that bad?

Headphones mic and music playing...

Has anyone found any in-ear canal headphones that have a mic attached to the cord, similar in design to the white iphone head phones, but go in the ear canal? Also, when playing music, does the music pause when you receive a call or do you need to pause it manually? I saw that you could play music do other things on the phone since it multitasks pretty well.
I am using Jabra BT3030 and it works like that.
I would like to know it to. the ones that are deliverd with the hero hurts my ear it doesn't fit perfectly. i think i have small ears . i tryed the xperia headphones but the mic didn't work.
i searched ebay but couldn't find any for hero.
Well it doesn't need to be just for the hero as with a 3.5mm jack it should work with any mic and headphone.
P.S I think but don't count on it.

You can try Stereo bluetooth headphones, "cans" style like the old headphones with padding not those earbud type. The Hero has Stereo bluetooth compatibilty and will give you music listening upto 10m away from the Hero with, pause, start, skip and reply functions as well as answering phone calls using the omni direction mic in the right headphone "can".. look on ebay you'll find them for under £30 or 35Euro
My mod
Hey,
Try out my solution:
Htc Hero std headset + Koss portapro = amazing!
Fraction
Htc bh s100
I've found the HTC BH S100 to be the best A2DP headset ever, sounds great, has excellent battery life, high output power, short charging time and a standard 3.5mm stereo jack, so you can attach your favourite headphone to it (I use Philips' SHE-9501 extra-cheap super-mega-boombass earpieces!).
I'm just wondering if the S100 will work with the Hero that's coming to my home..........
Simpler than Koss modification, quite affordable (30 euro's) in-ear headphone (great sound if you are a bass-addict), working mic + button:
V-Moda vibe duo. --> Officially made for iPhone, but works fine on my Hero!
I guess that all iPhone designed earplugs+mic will work, so a whole array of products is available... Ultimate ears also have a model for iPhone, and UE usually has a nice balanced sound.
happy shopping!

hi
i have tested the lg arena km900 headset and ist works pretty good
the headset has a button with mic and they are inear (ear canal headphones)
very nice sound and loud too! play and pause works !
lg arena km900 standart headphones maybe you can buy them from ebay
byby
HTC RC E100 + Sony MDR-AS50
This is a great combo for the Hero.
My only complaint would be that it would have been better if the connector could have been the 3.5mm jack rather than the MiniUSBExt. My old Nokia headset adaptor could do all this through a 3.5mm jack.
you can just use the iphone headphone it works. everything works mic, play pause, i'm using the iphone head phone from candy skull. like the apple iphone headphone it has the switch and mic on the right side. or if you preferred just use the apple headphone
Klipsch Image S4I
I bought a pair of Klipsch Image S4I wich has super clear sound.
But the mike and buttons does not for with my Hero, only start/stop music.

[Q] Why is it that...

Some headphones simply don't "work" on the x10?
I have stock ipod headphones (yes, I know, they suck, but I can't find the SE ones), and noticed that I can't use these. The sound output doesn't work properly.
Either:
1. Sound comes out of one ear only
2. No sound
3. Sound comes, but is missing part of the sound (in songs).
4. If I dont' insert it ALL the way in, it works fine sometimes
Why is this?
How long have you been using your phone? If i'm not wrong, the port or the 'hole' is faulty i guess?
SE re-wired the jack so that only SE headphones would work with it.
If you have the ones with the remote and mic it won't work. Other headphones with out them should work.

Headphones with mic will work, you just have to paper clip / tape the mic botton down, I am doing this with mine.
The reason this is though is if you look at the jack on the headphones you will see there is an extra green ring on the Sony one, this is forbade separate microphone connected in the phone, youl see 3 rings on Sony Ericsson ones and only 2 on normal headphones, or 4 on se and 3 on normal, can't remember.
It's called irrs or something.

Yes same happens to me with my noise cancelling ones that came with my walman X (the have like 5 green rings) but the Sony $9 ones work really good with it also the studio headphones and they have no mic
Yeah this issue is specifically for headphones with a mic due to wiring configuration.

Is it possible to disable auto mute?

My wife just picked up a new Galaxy Note on AT&T. We quickly discovered that when something is plugged into the headphone jack the phone mic is automatically muted. After discussing with Samsung regarding this they in fact have confirmed that because the device comes with headphones that have an inline mic the phone auto mutes when something is in the headphone jack.
So unlike our iPhone 4s when we are plugged into her cars AUX input for the purposes of listening to music we have to UNPLUG in order to take a call. Not mention if we have headphones in that don't have an inline mic we have to unplug the headphones to talk.
This seems EXTREMELY stupid to me. Is it at all possible to disable the auto mute. Samsung says no. I was told this is the place to go for a definitive answer.
its not being muted... its just in headphone mode thats the issue and idk why samsung does this its stupid. htc's handsets dont do this ither
Is there a way to make it NOT do that???
I know exactly the feature you are referring to. You might look for an app in the market, I don't know but I think the short answer is it needs to be built into the kernel. This probably won't happen until source for ICS is released and then a dev will include it in a build. Search the market for an app and tell us if you find something.

i dont think its a software issue i think its how it is actually wired inside the device. this also happened on the nexus s but not the first nexus by htc
That's weird, I was having Bluetooth connection problems and was using my aux port to stream Pandora and my phone range and I took the call and had it still hooked to my aux port and they could here me fine.
My Bluetooth was off this last time but I have done it a.couple times that I remember.
I'll try tomorrow again

AT&T Model = has EARPHONES with in-line pic ????
I got mine 3 weeks ago - new one , and the BOX was opened in frount of me @ ATT STORE ............... didnt have ANY EARPHONE!!!
So when I called the 800 Number > got told the same thing ( as whats on Website) .......... NO EARPHONE !!!
So I am using the earphone from my older INFUSE < works fine with inlinemic and NOPE dont get mute thingie) I have also tested with ZAGG BUDS; DR ONES - msot expensive ones - NONE OF THEM DO that 'mute' thingie - atlreast not on my NOTE (( rooted , unlocked and back to stock att though at the moment - ready for trade to s3))
So I suspect that the Earpiece here is not the correct one for phone
Mine came with beats earphones

Mine doesn't mute the mic when headphones or my car's aux cable is plugged in either. And headphones were removed from the AT&T release.
I talk on my phone in my car while aux cable plugged in all the time. I don't have mute problem at all. Not only aux cable but I use my Bose headphones without inline Mic and they work fine too.

My mic works in my car with the sound going through the stereo.

Portable speakers

I would like to know if anyone had a suggestion for a mini portable speaker. I drive 8 hours a day for work and the phone speaker doesn't always cut it for playing music. Something that is self powered or rechargeable and can plug into the headphone jack. No batteries!
Thanks.

Ever consider a Bluetooth speaker? They make some that plugs into ac and clip onto the visor

Considering that you're in the car - you might want to get one of the bluetooth speakers that also has an FM transmitter. I don't know if Motorola still makes the T505 but that is the one I use. It had the capability to scan for other frequencies in case the one you were using had to compete with a local station.
As for a straight bluetooth speaker, I'm using the a Logitech Mini Boombox which is a compact (<5" cubed) 2 x 3W setup that is quite good for small area listening and has a microphone on it. There are a lot that are coming out now though, Bose airplay and Sonos comes to mind for better quality, higher price.
I use my Jawbone Jambox in the car via bluetooth; it has an available car charger or can be charged via usb/110v wall wart. I use it anywhere I want to listen to music, not just in the car. I've tried other less expensive pop-up speakers but they just don't cut it for me.
Just bought the Jambox Jawbone... Worth it!!!!

JBL
I have a "JBL Micro II" rechargeable speaker, and it sounds great. The battery lasts a long time too.
So far I have tried out X-mini MAX II which has superior sound for the best listening pleasure it can offer...
I use a FM transmitter I pick up from overstock . com
I think I paid around 8 bucks at the time. Been running it for about 4 years. Haven't busted it yet.
Looks like they run about 12.99 now! Still worth it.
I did take it apart and rotated the holder as a hanger instead of going up. Works way better so its not sticking above my dash in my pickup.

Galaxy tab 2 white headphones mod

So I want to turn the galaxy tab 2 10.1 white headphones into a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm Jack WITH the control still intact.
Anyone know of any guides or links?
So currently it's looks like the pics below - 3.5mm to control (on one headphone wire) to headphone.
I want it to go 3.5mm to control to 3.5mm.
Now just to confirm because I think I do need to strip both headphones - for left and right audio.
The reason for this mod is so I can control the tab 2s volume while driving.
Thanks in advance

Hello, I can't say I understood everything you said, but I will do my best.
It's going to be complicated, because even if you use an P2-RCA adapter, the commands are set up with some specific resistances applied through the wire itself.
Why don't you look for a bluetooth solution? Like the Nokia BH214 (or BH111), for example. You just pair it with the Tab, and plug the sound output into the amplifier.
PS: I have never tried such bluetooth device, but I've read that it works with most Android devices.
Bluetooth audio quality is poor I've tested in the passed and isn't the best audio with the ease of connection.
Yes it has something to do with the internals of the control so I'll most likely cut the headphones and link the left and right headphone wires together and solder to a 3.5mm jack
Probably the easiest way.
