[Q] Send a text to...which one? - LG G Watch

If I say, "Send a text to Sara", my watch replies, "which one?"
What the hell do I reply to that? I can't figure it out There's only one Sara in my contacts list.

Does she happen to have two separate numbers under the same contact info like "Home" and "Cell"? If so, try "OK Google, text Sarah cell: I'll be by a bit later" and see if that works for you.

Yea my watch does that too and so does my phone. I have to say both name and last-name for it to work.

Gmail: Sender's name not displayed, only email address

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I'm using my X10's Gmail client for all my emails, but one problem which I have is that when I receive email, the name of the sender is not displayed, only the email address. This means having to memorise people's email addresses in order to determine who sent it exactly.
I know definitely that I have names in my address book, when I go to compose the name is there perfectly. But it doesn't show up on received mail. Any way to fix this? This is for ALL of my email, not just a few.
Thanks for any help.

Strange, works fine for me in that it does display the name and can't find any settings to change it so it doesn't.

Thanks for your attempt anyway. Its a really strange issue, I swear it used to work before.
I just noticed that I'm facing the same issue on my desktop Gmail too... Perhaps I've set something wrong with desktop Gmail?
EDIT: Actually I just realised: http://ask.metafilter.com/140633/Can-I-change-a-senders-display-name-in-Gmail
It looks like Gmail doesn't cross-reference back to contacts. That's terrible in my opinion, as I'm using my phone here in Japan, where everyone has incomprehensible emails, and they don't change their "From:" tag, making things a real pain.

Oops...!! Feel stupid!!
i tried this in an email and there was only reply and forward buttons. but realized that if i try it in one where there are actually multiple contacts, then the reply all appears.
Thanks.!!
Sorry for reviving this thread, but I have this issue that the "Reply to All" option is missing.
My case is like this:
I received an email from person A. He sent email to an email group where I belong to, let's say [email protected].
When I tried to reply, the "Reply to All" didn't appear. I could only reply to person A's email, it's supposed to be able to reply to both person A's email and [email protected] right?
In other cases, however "Reply to All" appears correctly, I have no idea, is this a bug? I just encountered this issue.
Btw my SGS2 is in 100% stock condition.
Some times there is small arrow like this '►', if you press that you will get Reply to all option.
Regards.

[Q] Handcent SMS Help?

Hey Folks,
I was wondering if with Handcent SMS it is possible to have group conversations. I know that you can select more than one contact to receive a particular message but is their anyway for it to host conversations. With BB(I know a shame to compare) I had an application and if I sent a text to say 5 people, all 5 people seen each others replys as the phone forwarded one persons reply to everyone else and added their name. Is their anyway to get Handcent to do this? To host like a chat, if you will. It was super handy on BB being able to text 5 people, and all 5 of us carry on a conversation.
If this is something Handcent can not do, is their any other good application recommendations?
Thank you very much,
Blaine

They claim to support group sms but like you said when people reply it goes into their own individual thread from my experience. Damn shame they can't get it working properly like on BB and iPhone.
Well as dissapointing as it is thank you for confirming it wasn't just my ignorance. Such a shame though. Have you found any alternative applications that can do it?
Thanks!

Actually I just gave up and said forget it to group sms for now. I emailed handcent but never got a reply.
That's just not cool. It would really be handy for me. Weird Handcent never replied.
OT: What year car do you have? Foxbody?
Handcent has a group sms plugin on the market. Never had a need personally but it may be what you're looking for
I've downloaded tthe plugin & well...I still haven't figured out exactly what it does lol.

after searching "handcent group sms" on the market, multiple packages showed up, so far I count 9 plugins for group SMS. I'm gonna screw with it a bit. You may need to have everybody you're texting in the group running on the same SMS client... I'll see what I can figure out with it

Double contact shows up even when deleted? Help please.

Something very weird is happening on my contact list.
No, I do not have ANY number on my SIM.
No, I do not have any number in my T-Mobile contact list.
I have a friend of mine whose name is DG.
So I wanna send a new text, I open the Message application, tap on the bar to select the contact, write the initials of the name, DG, and usually you should get a list of people who are named so... what happens here is that when I type this specific contact, I see it TWICE.
DG 1702... Mobile
DG +1702... Mobile
Why?
Checked GMail, there is only one entry.
Checked my Contact list, only one entry.
Went to GMail, DELETED the contact, synced the contacts, and it does not show in my Contacts list BUT! This is just weird now... when I try to send a new message, type the name... it shows up DG +1702... Mobile
What the hell?
I thought it could be Skype, or WhatsApp, but I checked the same thing with other contacts who also have Skype and WhatsApp and this does not occur... Anyone?
Thanks
PS: I have checked the other two threads but none give a solution.
One of them may be showing up because of call history and sent history.
This one you CAN turn off in:
messages>settings>general> show sent message history and show call history
One of them showing up may be Tmobile Contact Back Up.
This one you CAN'T turn off.
Option? Root and remove.
Once TCBU sync's it won't let you remove it.
P.S. I replied to your PM already, as well.
Hope this helps bro.

Yeah I saw the reply and replied. Thanks.
The thing is, I don't have any contacts on TMo back up...
And why does it do it to only one contact so far?
Just deleted all my contacts from GMail, and also from my phone, deleted WhatsApp and skype... And when I go type a new text, the number DG is still there...
Guess what... I removed the microSD card... problem solved... No more duplicate!
I wonder why now...

[Q] Going to next message in email

How do I do this instead of doing it with screen? Is there a back and forward button on the email app and gmail app?
thanks in advance
No offence but that sounds completely retarded.......lol
you would rather press a button on the screen than to swipe the screen to the next message....... sounds like one and the same to me
maybe im missunderstanding you, my bad.
Actually its not because if there is a bunch of things in the email body of message, you can click that by accident instead of going to next message unless there is somewhere specific to do it?
please advise

Quite, and with HTML emails, swiping to the left is more likely just to scroll the message around, rather than get to the next email. PITA, and there doesn't seem an alternative.
