[Q] Unable to Send Text Messages - Sprint LG G3

I got my G3 yesterday. I can send/receive calls and I can receive text messages, but I cannot send text messages. Messages state "Sending" and then fail. I have rebooted, reset to factory, pulled the battery, and done an ancient smartphone dance, but nothing is working. Ideas?

Attach to wifi and perform Profile and PRL update.

Did that, no change.

Hmmmmm. Call Customer Care. Maybe they can take care of something on the network side.

Nice! Glad it ended up working for you!

Ha same problem on my G3 from Videotron. Had to reset to factory to get working again. Wi try the updates you guys are talking cause it takes hell of a time to send them sometimes. Receiving works all the time. Is just sending. Maybe ill try the ancient smartphone dance too just because it looks like a cool way to fix this

Double Text Messages

I'm receiving double text messages now on a lot of my text messages I receive. It doesn't seem to matter who the text message is from. It's happened after I upgraded the Radio, DCD ROM, and Bootloader to the latest versions below. I don't know if that's what caused it or if there is something wrong with the Verizon Service and I should call Verizon. Can anybody help me with this? Thank you!

Must be you. I haven't had any problems. I would call them and see if it's on their end.

It is definitely on their end...happens on Sprint to randomly....wont do a lot to call though as they don't have a clue as to why it happens,,,,,you will get the run around...."everything is fine on our end",,,lol
I know i have had this happen to me on alltel a couple times normally give it a couple days and the issue resolves itself no real point in calling CS they will just walk you through a bunch of stuff that have nothing to do with the issue
Are you using HTC home, by any chance? I've had this issue quite a few times before. I haven't had any dupe text messages after I uninstalled HTC Home - Just a thought.
No, but I'm using HTC Homeplug 1.12.0.0, but it was installed via the Kitchen, so I don't think it can be uninstalled. I guess I'll wait a week or so and if it keeps happening I'll contact Verizon if it does. Thanks.

It's still happening but not as often as it was doing it. I complained to them a while ago about getting email notifications as a SMS everytime I got a new hotmail email message. I wonder if they did something while they were working on this complaint. The SMS was from OZMail wish is a Verizon applicaton for email that I used, but stopped using. Well, I guess I will call them and see what they say.

Can't call Sprint Customer Service

I am stock and not running any dialer apps. Every time I try to call customer service, either *2 or 1-888-211-4727 I get a message that says network is busy try again later. I can make a call from my other Sprint phone but the EVO 3D won't make a call. Anyone have this happen before? Any ideas how to fix it without doing a factory reset?
Try Dialing 611, or 1-800-639-6111 Instead!

Update ur profile and try again...go to menu settings system updates and select update profile....
Sent From My HTC EVO 3D ROOTED
Try #2 instead, I read that that way always works, even without having Sprint Zone installed.

Thanks again. Now if I can get this error code 128 to go away I'll be good. I think that is why I can't use *2 or the 1-888-211-4727 number.

That was one of first places I went. Sprint is starting to get calls on this also. I am sure they will come out with something soon. I hope. Thanks again for your help.

Double texts?

Since the ICS upgrade, my stock unrooted E3D is receiving texts twice. It happens in stock messaging, Handcent, and Go SMS...it's weird. Texts I send aren't received by others twice, but any text sent to me, I get twice. In whatever messaging app I'm using. I was wondering if anyone had seen this?
Are you using an Airave in your house?

No. I have great signal...
Hmmm, well since you are unrooted, you can try a factory reset, that will clear up any bugs if it's a software glitch. I would also call Sprint first, and have them refresh or reprogram the phone.
Before doing that factory reset try ##72786# followed by your msl code. Might save you the trouble of having to restore everything back..
im leaning toward network issue as well since its happening on multiple sms apps..
Thanks guys...Looks like it might have been a network issue...it seems to have fixed itself.

[Q] Send pictures while in a call

So yesterday I'm on the phone and I go to send a picture to someone(MMS) and after a bit it came up with a box saying it failed and to retry now or later. I tried it a few more times and still nothing. I know my Galaxy S3 allowed me to send picture messages while in calls so is this a device limitation? Am I the only one experiencing this? Or is there a New law or something that doesn't allow picture sending while in calls for some reason?
Just wanted to get some feedback to see what other people are experiencing.

Which app were you trying to send it through? And no, there is no new law that would stop this.
Is it possible you were on wifi when you were trying? From what I understand Verizon devices will not send picture messages over wifi, they have to use the network.
Stock LG messaging app, stock dialer. Rooted device and that's about it. I noticed I actually do not need mobile data on to send and receive picture messages normally (not in a call) so I typically leave it off when I don't need it for data.
My setup when I tried was WiFi on and connected to my home network, mobile data off, and phone call present. Would not allow me to send the picture. I'll try it with data on later and see if it works.
Didn't think it was a law, Which is good. May be that the data was off. And yes Verizon phones do not send pictures through WiFi they do need mobile data for Verizon services (text,MMS).
Well weird.. Called my voicemail and sent a picture message to myself and it went through both with data on and off.
Well I must have had another issue last night where it wasn't wanting to send. Weird thing is it sent after I hit try again and was off the phone.
Only thing I could think of is that the area I was at before typically gets less coverage (although still 4g).
So I'm confused but as long as it works I'll be happy!
Any solutions please update us

I the solution was found. Apparently a fluke issue.
Yes, seems something else was the issue there. I figured it was the call because that was the main thing I was using the phone for. If I get anymore info on this I will share.

Can't Send MMS But Can Receive

Been waiting on AT&T to get back to me, having opened a tech ticket (On Sunday) to resolve issue. I can receive MMS messages, but I can't send one. Regular SMS not a problem. Have no issue with my Data connection. Reviewing the logcat file, I see a HTTP 502 error bad gateway showing up when the error occurs. So I am wondering if this is an issue with the HTC Phone on AT&T Network.
I have tried using different APNs, but that doesn't have any effect. I then decided to try a different ROM from Stock, and installed Venom latest. That had no effect.
So anyone else having an issue with sending MMS on AT&T with the M9?

Ruu and start over. Something has happened somewhere. I can't think of anything but a setting that would cause that. I would only backup your photos etc, i would not restore back to your current setup. Use ruu.exe or sdcard method, not fastboot method.

I'm going to wait for AT&T I think it's an error on their end. Supposed to hear by Friday.
I have had that exact problem with a different device before and it was an issue on the network side, not the device. They had to do some reprovisioning with line and that fixed it up. It is ridiculous that they are making wait so long when it is such an easy fix. Have you tried sending an MMS to yourself? Sometimes this helps with the provisioning.

Yes I have tried that, and sometimes it works but mostly doesn't. Supposed to hear back today.
AT&T never got back to me, so I had to call them. The girl I was working with seems to think it's the SIM card. That doesn't make sense to me, because if it works with the Interwebs, Facebook, Instagram, and I can recieve MMS, then I would think it's not the SIM card, whatever. Am going to test it the SIM card on my S4 to see if that makes a difference (Don't think it will.)
The people that answer the phone when you call are the first level of support. They know very little when it comes to technical support. If turns out not to be the sim card, calk back and ask them to pass you on to the next level of support.

I agree, the person I spoke with last Sunday elevated me to a next level tech who was still unable to figure it out. After trying a new sim card which still didn't work, I did a data reset from settings. It fixed the problem, and I still had root
fix
go into Apps manager go to all and find, [MmsService] in there you will find how to turn it back on had the same problem.
