[Q] Help with rom liquidsmooth v2.9 - HTC Rezound

hello friends wanted to know if I could help with a rom I put my htc Rezound which was its official rom 4.0.3 with locked bootloader unlock with which HTCDev because my wifi and bluetooth problems and change the boot.img and the cell was bricked me in htc screen and there is no step more, then install android systen recovery and install the rom you liquidsmooth and kenel funky but the Rezound stays in the animation of the rom and there does not pass I wonder if someone could help me I'm s-on bootloader unlock if any rom that works well with me these try installing an exe ruu but I think the 115 Error error loading the image. Thanks I hope to fix my htc.

What recovery did you use? Did you ever flash the boot.img after flashing the ROM? Also, you can't run a RUU without really being S-OFF. If you want some good ROMs, try out Chucktr's CM 11, bunchies Liquid smooth 3.2, or some other newer ROMs. Any should do. But after flashing them in recovery. You have to flash the boot.img manually in fastboot. Or else you will be stuck on boot logo forever. If you want to get back to stock, we can do that after you get booted.
Sent from my HTC One M8 Running Paranoid Android. S-OFF.

Why can't I flash ROMs?

For some reason I can only run stock rooted on my Rezound. I've tried both Clockwork and Amon Ra with no success. I know how to flash ROMs, this is my 6th or 7th Android phone and my 3rd HTC Android phone.
I just relocked my bootloader and flash the stock RUU to restart from scratch and start over. Still, I can't flash ROMs. I put my ROM on the sd card, boot into recovery and wipe data/cache. Then I go into the boot loader and flash the kernel. Then, I just get stuck at the HTC screen forever. It's extremely frustrating considering I'm coming from the Galaxy Nexus where I was running an ICS ROM (not the stock one) and I thought the Rezound looked cool so I picked it up. But now I'm stuck on GB.
Am I doing something wrong or missing something? When I first unlocked the phone Saturday I tried to flash an ICS ROM but got stuck at the HTC screen. Then I flashed a different one successfully but it was buggy so I flashed a GB ROM and played with that for a little bit. After that I got stuck and couldn't flash anything without getting stuck at HTC, so I flashed a stock, rooted ROM and from then on that's all I've been able to use.
Edit: So I just tried manually flash the boot.img from the PH98IMG folder by doing fastboot flash boot boot.img and it successfully flashed yet I'm STILL stuck at the HTC screen.... The method ONLY works for the stock ROM for me.

What kernel's are you flashing and what roms ? I know I have ran into trouble with the anthrax kernel with having to flash a stock GB kernel first . It seems for me at least going from GB to ICS or vice versus I have the best luck using stock kernels first. Once, the rom is loaded it has been easy to switch to custom kernels.
So maybe make sure for the GB roms your flashing the stock , unsecured kernel and for ICS the " leaked kernel " that everyone is using for a base.

I'm just flashing whatever kernel comes with the ROM. By that I mean the PH98IMG file that contains the boot.img. Or should I be actually flashing a kernel in recovery?

So your taking the boot.img out and flashing it in fastboot ? that should be fine . Otherwise , put the PH98IMG on the root of the SD card and flash the rom in recovery then reboot to the bootloader (Amon Ra) and let the PH98IMG flash the kernel then reboot phone.
Try one of the ICS ROM's that have the kernel built into the install and follow the instructions which is basically flash ROM in recovery, let it boot to bootloader, press power, vol up when asked etc.
If they offer a separate ph*.zip then it is not automatic

So I have been doing it right. I've done that many times and it hasn't worked. I'm messing around with other kernels now, I just flashed this kernel on my stock ROM and it's working, so maybe I can flash an ICS kernel on an ICS rom and everything will work. We'll see.
I installed CleanRom and the kernel it came with and it does one thing differently......... it boots to the HTC screen then after about 10 seconds it reboots back to recovery. This is driving me nuts, I can't flash ANY rom. CleanRom has never worked for me but I did manage to flash a few roms RIGHT after getting the phone on Friday.
I've only been able to successfully install BAMF Rezound Cubed 1.0.2 which is a GB ROM. I've tried to installed Ineffabilis v1.3 which is also a GB ROM but it remains stuck at the HTC screen.
I believe the only other ROM I've been able to flash successfully is Ineffabilis-Deus-v1.0.2-Odex-ICS 4.0.3 sense 3.6, which IS an ICS ROM.

I think BAMF Cubed changes/upgrades your mainver. You should get a "mainver is older" error when flashing the ph98. IMG. Is it possible that you got the error but didn't see it-looking away at the time? If so, the easiest way around the mainver issue -imo- is scott's cleanflash tool.
There are many threads about mainver issues. It may be worth checking.
Edit- I re-read the thread, I may be wrong, dunno.
CleanRom will reboot to fastboot after flashing, press power and wait a second or two to install the kernel. This won't work if you DO have the newer mainver.
Hope this was helpful.

As far as Ineffabilis GB, I haven't updated to v1.3 but I can tell you for v1.0 it stays on the white HTC screen for quite a while before booting up. Maybe you didn't wait long enough?

So does CleanROM. First boot is a lesson in patience.

It sounds like you're missing the part where you, you know, actually flash the ROM. The kernel zip and the ROM zip are separate; the kernel (normally found in PH98IMG.zip) is flashed in hboot/fastboot, the ROM (where the zip is called whatever) from recovery. It doesn't matter which order you flash them, but if you flash an ICS kernel and you try to boot before flashing the ICS ROM, for example, you'll get stuck on that white HTC screen when trying to boot.
Many ROMs have a script built in that when you flash the ROM in recovery it will create a PH98IMG.zip and automatically reboot you to the bootloader so you can flash the kernel. It is done this way because if you put the PH98IMG.zip on your sdcard and flash that first you'll have trouble getting back into recovery to flash the ROM after. The hboot won't let you select recovery with that file on the sdcard (obviously, reboot recovery from the OS/ADB still works, but if you reboot and flash the kernel first, you have no way into recovery without removing the sd card). I usually only copy the ROM to my sdcard (not the kernel) to prevent getting locked out of recovery. Go into recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik, install zip from SD, select the ROM (not the PH98IMG.zip kernel), then reboot into the bootloader and manually fastboot flash boot boot.img. Obviously you don't have to do it that way, that's just my usual method.
Hope this helps somewhat.

I waited like 5 minutes, I know the initial boot process usually takes longer but it usually doesn't sit at the HTC screen for a long period of time, it just seems to hang on the boot animation but I can't even make it that far.

All CleanRom does is sit at the HTC screen for about 5 or 6 seconds, then it restarts into recovery on it's own. Both the ICS and GB CleanRoms do this.

I am flashing the ROM. Most roms just put the PH98IMG then automatically take you to the bootloader to flash the kernal. I've done that, probably 10 times. Then I manually flash the kernel when required too.
Like I said, this is my 7th Android phone, 3rd of which being HTC. I've been flashing ROMs since December of 2009 when the original Droid was rooted. I'm not new to this, that's why I don't understand why I'm having such a difficult time.

[Q] help I am still stuck in bootloop

I am still stuck in bootloop. I have used 4ext, twrp, and clockwork. I have tried them all and tried to flash different roms. I am a sprint evo 3d user and i have rev s-off. I am running viper rom right now. But when i do a factory reset and clear the cache data and all do all that type of stuff. I try to install the roms and it says install complete so i reboot from and let it sit a while but it never boots up and it always keeps rebooting and rebooting. Anyone help me please
Are you installing ViperROM ICS? I just installed this myself and experience boot loops. My situation may be different because I have HBOOT 1.5 and HTC unlock.
I was able to resolve this by installing the Anthrax RLS1 kernel w/ ViperROM ICS Beta3. I'm not clear on way this kernel works while others don't though.

RSL1 isnt ment for 3.6 ROMS. Use this one ... htcleak-stockfirmwaretest ....... RSL1 cause random reboots and non working 4G
do you guys have s off if not then this is part of the problem you need to have 4ext custom recovery installed this will solve the problem and after its installed set it up and enable smart flash and this will allow you to flash your boot.img of your are missing thats why your getting boot loops however you cant do this now what you need to do now is go to your pc or laptop boot your device into bootloader and hit the power button you should now be fastboot next you need a copy of the zip file meaning the rom you have flashed to your device on your pc what you need to do is extract that zip file and once its done extracting it will create a folder you will open that folder and scroll down until you see your boot.img and this is what you need to boot up next you will copy the boot.img into the same folder that you have your adb and fastboot drivers in next open cmd and typ what ever commands that you use to get your fastboot driver working and once that is done next you will typ fastboot flash boot boot.img and this will flash your boot.img and after this it will boot up without any bootloops enjoy
none
When you flash the ROM in recovery, does take a minute or two to install, or does it just fly right through the install process?? the ROM could have a bad updater.script in it which causes the ROM not to copy to the phone.
Try a different ROM, if a different flashes, and doesn't boot loop, you know the pproblem. May I suggest "CleanRom Reborn" found at
www.scottsroms.com his roms are awesome, and the one I mentioned has a cool option called LeeDroid Tweeks. Give that a go, your problems will be over.
I was having the same problem in my S-OFF GSM Evo, flashing a new kernel(has to be done via flashing the boot.img) works but its never quite stable. I'm not entirely sure why but KingCobra3D-ICS installed just fine, I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the aroma installer so maybe try a ROM that uses aroma installer.

LeeDroid Boot Stuck

I have Flashed LeeDroids newest Rom to my GSM from Mwakious,Using Rom Manager i created a full backup before the Flash Process
The Installer had said that flashing was successful,I let the Phone reboot
It Took about 20 to 25 minutes, thats when i knew something was wrong,Understanding there is a problem i took out the battery wanting to to wipe and use the backup i created,(didnt install the animations or boot sound),i loaded up the Bootloader and went into Clockwork, when i choose something i get stuck on the Rom manager logo ???.
Whats the safest way for me to be able to wipe and reinstall the ROM
*update* i flashed the boot.img out LeeDroid, now my phone contentiously plays the htc boot animation*
First, don't use Rom Manager, just backup, wipe, and flash in clockwork.
Second, did you flash the correct radios/firmware/kernel for that rom?
Third, did you fully wipe? Even if you selected it in Rom Manager, it likely didnt work, hence see number 1.

I had the same problem with LeeDriod, stuck on HTC logo. try to RUU with the correct file. you will be stocked. but before RUUing you have to relock your bootloader by typing "fastboot oem lock" then RUU
I had this problem for a week and I thought my phone is dead and I had to trash it but after RUUing I am back to stock lolz
I had used 4ext recovery thinking i would be able to wipe and install another Rom,i wiped everything but since, everytime i try to install a rom i get stuck at the htc logo in boot,i will have to painfully relock it and RUU,but which file ?

MAJOR ISSUE evo 4g lte will not boot even though was restored from backup

im having major issues here with my device it all started with me trying to flash it to cynogenmod 10 which apparantly my device has the s-on so i was stuck in the cmod boot logo, luckily i backed up my device prior to that with the stock rom and everything so i restored successfully back to my stock rom. then i was reading along some forums to see what the problem was and i came accrosss this forum "http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/606748-how-install-kernels-s-h-boot-1-15-a.html" which gave me a few options on how to flash kernels with the right one that will work with cynogen mod, i chose option 1 because it said it is recommended which the steps were to take the rom "boot.img" file and copy it over to the android sdk platform tools folder and open up a cmd and i flashed the rom "boot.img" which according to the forum that contains the kernel that belongs with that rom i did what it ask went to fastboot mode and typed in fastboot boot boot.img, which succeeded, when i rebooted the device it boots up acting like it is trying to open up recovery mode which is twrp recovery, after that it does nothing it blacks out and a little white bar flashes on top of the screen from time to time then it turns off and reboots and do same cyckle, i attempted to go back to twrp and restore my stock rom which said it succeeded but when i rebooted it did the same thing acted like it was tryning to boot up to recovery being inforemd with those red letter about developmental purposes only stuff, so i factory rested my device wiped dalvik cache and cache and even wiped the system rom and restored my back up with stock rom and nothing works still, please help i am stuck please!!
You probably need to pull the boot.img from a stock ROM and send it via fastboot since your trying to go back to your stock backup.
thanks, but now i got the cynogen mod 10 to boot up now for some reason the touch screen does not respond to the touch neither does the capacative touch buttons work either do you have any idea what it could be?
If you have the 3.16 OTA update then you're touchscreen firmware is incompatible. If this is the case your stuck with 3.16 based roms. Cm will not work for you.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
well the 3.16 ota update is that the latest one?
Yes. If you have the 3.16 update the only way your going to get cm to work is to s-off and downgrade you're tp firmware.

First and foremost you need to go here http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?13192-RADIOS-RECOVERY-FLASHABLE-Jewel-Radio-Collection&p=220556&viewfull=1#post220556 and download the boot.img only for whatever version of the stock rom your backup is.
Put it in your sdk tools and open a command prompt and fastboot flash boot boot.img
Go to twrp recovery and WIPE cache, dalvik, factory reset, and system.
Restore your stock backup.
Reboot.
If you can get back to your stock rom, then you should read up on dirty racun or possibly facepalm to gain s-off if you want to run cm.

[Q] HTC Desire X - need Support

Hello ,
since two days i am trying to install a custom rom on my htc desire x. I repeated every single step several times to make sure everything still is fine.
(unlook, flash boot, flash recovery / tried twmp and cwm, etc..)
The only rom which works for me ist the cM10-2-20138004-unofficial. But with restrictions. WLAN doesn't work, media manager isn't starting. Cant hear the partner when calls are incoming.
I tried mySense, Half_Sense, myOnedx, but after finishing installation the device hangs on startup. I waited hours and minutes but nothing happened.
I tried several RUU´s but can't find the right ones for me, or i got the 155 error message.
There is no OS installed on the device. How can i get the device up an running? I would be really happy if somebody can give me a hint whats going wrong.
Thx in advance
Dont worry all ****s can be fixed.Wha is ur hboot ? Or simply before to try to install custom rom U was with ICS rom or JB ?.You have to use the right recovery.Look what rom you want to flash, if you on ics hboot u cant just flash jb room (Some roms already have this funcion)
Ps:
After flasing the rom go in boothloader and flash boot.img And away do full wipe
What you need to make sure when installing a ROM: Install a suitable kernel. When installing a Sense ROM, install a Sense custom kernel or the stock kernel. Installing CM isn't advisable, because it's not ready for daily use yet. Also, make sure you use the right recovery for right hboot.
Good Morning,
thx for reply. I want to install the myOnedx_RC4.0 FX. I extracted the boot.img from zip. Installed the rom, wiped, reboot and installed the boot.img.
But that failed. Again, the cyanogen start up occurs for hours and hours. The device doesnt start.
Also tried the same wir the mySENSEdx5_RC4
I evem tried to install the nexuskernelv3.img
I am on hboot 1.25.002
Anyone an idea what wrong with my installation?
Thx
Again: Which custom recovery are you using? Please post a link to the thread here, so we can see what you've installed. Also, as first time user, you should check this and this.
Sorry i forgot. I am using TWRP 2.6.3.0 as custom recovery
Ok, strange, as this one works for me without problems. However, try the 2.5.0.0 version for JB and see if it goes without problems then. Also be sure to wipe system, dalvik cache, cache and data partition before installing a new ROM.
Same with version 2.5.0.0. I tried clockworkmod recovery, but as soon as i try to wip i got the error messages:
cant mount cache/recovery
cant open cache/revocery
So how can i get back to a stock rom? I tried the way described in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41327224
, but restore failed.
Any other ideas?
If you want to get back to stock, you need to know your CID first. After that, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324815
As you have JB hboot, you need to restore a JB backup. In the thread I linked you to are backups of several CIDs. If yours isn't there, you won't be able to return to stock.
Ok thanks. So it is not in there. I got the cid VODAP102.
Does that mean my device is gone? Or can i even try other workarounds?
Thanks
So i installed odexed rom and this one works fine. Do not know why all the other roms not working to me.
Maybe anyone an idea.
Otherwise thanks for your support.

Your hboot : 1.25.0002
Recovery to flash - JB recovery download from here : http://d-h.st/VjM
fastboot flash recovery command : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
For a test ROM to flash, flash this stock ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239511
also make sure to fastboot flash boot boot.img
(boot.img is attached on OP)
Once everything run, it is up to you to try any other ROM and any other boot.img

It's either you flash ROM with wrong recovery type or wrong boot.img type or ROM which is not supported on your hboot.
Simple rules:
1) Recovery must be a recovery for JB.
2) Correct boot.img for correct ROM
ICS ROM that support hboot 1.25.0002
Recovery : JB recovery is a must
Boot.img : ICS boot.img is a must
JB ROM which should run fine on hboot 1.25.0002
Recovery : JB recovery is a must
Boot.img : JB boot.img is a must
ICS ROM that does not support hboot 1.25.002 - you need to manually change the mountpoint in updater-script, then
Recovery : JB recovery is a must
Boot.img : ICS boot.img is a must
Yeah, that was the problem, I see now... Have been blind a bit... The ROMs OP has installed on his phone are all ICS ROMs which need changing of updater-script mountpoints. That's why they won't work. @Lastmenstanding: Try any JB ROM available in Android Development section, should work without problems. The ROMs you tried were ICS ROMs especially written for ICS hboot, that's why they didn't work on your phone.

OP mentioned about installing my ICS ROMs. Both ICS ROMs work on JB hboot without a need to edit the updater-script. My guess is he either use wrong recovery (ICS recovery is wrong) or wrong boot.img (JB boot.img is wrong) as it should be JB Recovery and ICS boot.img
