[ROM] [LITE & HEAVILY DE-Bloated] [700MB] Galaxy Tab pROM - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Android Development

This is a VERY Light and Heavily debloated version of freeza's pROM for Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (SM-T320)
pROM is fast, stable and smooth. Freeza did an excellent job on his ROM/kernel. However it was still "bloated"
for my liking. Apart from samsung bloatware still present, for some reason he included some 3d party apps on
/system/ partition. I tried debloating the pROM after installing it, but it was almost imposible.
So, I decided to customize the .zip file and remove all the -safe to remove- .apks manually.
After researching for each .apk individually, I removed totaly 110 apks (!) from Freeza's ROM.
Nothing else changed/tweaked from the original pROM.
Benchmarks seem to like this rom too: 35.500+ on AnTuTu, 914/2845 on GeekBench 3
Kept original Nova Launcher, File Manager, Keyboard and Browser in case you need to use them for backup restoring purposes.
you can delete/disable them later with Root Uninstaller.
I have been using this ROM for a week now and its very stable, using many 3rd party games and applications
(see screenshots for the apps I am using) No issues whatsoever from the removed apks.
I didnt know how to remove panels from settings, so when you try to open the following panels they will crash
because the corresponding applications were removed:
* Samsung email/calendar sound options
* notifications history
Sorry for that, just resist the temptation!
So if you are like me and you want your ROM as "empty" as possible, this is for you:
Mod edit: Download link removed.
If you dont mind some extra stuff then install the Original pROM, it's great.
apks removed: (in case you miss something, inlude it in the .zip before flashing)
Mod edit: Links removed.
Instructions:
1. Full Wipe (Factory Reset + /System/) (Philz/TWRP recommended as always)
2. Install .zip
3. Let it auto-restart on 1st boot
4. Enjoy!
All credits go to freeza for this. In my opinion its the only worthy ROM for this tablet. If he ever updates his ROM I will make a newer Lite version (if needed)
High Resolution Screenshots
Cheers!

Do you have the dev's permission? One would hope so.
You linked to the dev's work, which is good, but aside from removing apks, I see zero actual development effort of any kind going into this. Thus, I cannot understand how this even qualifies as development, much less a dev DB project.
I strongly urge you to seek the dev's permission to post this if not already having done same, and at a minimum moving this to the general thread if and when the developer's permission is attained.

"Did the developer have samsung's permission? Because appart from tweaking samsung's developers hard work I see zero actual development effort of any kind......"
Here another nonsense sentence with your logic.
I never claimed I am a developer, I used the dev DB so it would appear as a ROM for easy find and access.
I made the ROM for myself and since it worked well for me I thought I should share because you know... Share is love. I gave all the credit to freeza (even mentioned him on the installation script). I do not have any gain of this (donations, beers, cookies), so if its offending in any way to the original developer remove the thread, I dont mind.

I neither stated that what you did was ill-intentioned, nor that what you provided was unhelpful to others. I think what you have provided is useful.
I did indicate that you posted the rom in the wrong forum, and that gaining the author's permission prior to publishing, credit given or no, would have been appropriate for these forums. This is the work of the developer, and it is he whom invested hundreds of hours creating it, not you.
I fail to see how something solely based on a desire to share is sufficient to merit earning its own thread in the development section.
I suggested that you move the thread to the general section, and gain the dev's permission prior to publishing same.

Since its a seperate ROM it should be on a seperate topic. And since its a ROM, it should be on dev db topic. Thats what the forum rules say.
I mentioned him officially while creating the topic so i am sure he is notified about this.
As the OD did not get permission from samsung to change it's work, I dont need permission to change his work either. Its the chain of unofficial development. If someone would change MY work to help others while mentioning me, I would be happy and proud
Thats what I personally believe.
If the forum administrators or the developer have a problem with this, they should remove/move/whatever it. I felt it would be wrong not to mention the Original developer since he put much more effort than I did, so I mentioned him on every step. I really cant even imagine what should I do beyond that.
If you want to pretend being the "lawyer" of the forum/developers go ahead and report this to them, dont speak on their behalf without even their permission.
I already regret puting the extra effort to index, upload and creating this topic just to share and help others.

If you want to change something to the stock rom you are free to do so and publish it, modifying someone else's work and publishing it its another story.
Forum rules:
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails, you may then contact a Moderator and provide clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in the copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence that it was you who created the work, then in the spirit of sharing, all work will remain posted on the forums.
As an addition, developers have the right to hold exclusivity over their work for as long as it is deemed necessary by that developer. However, if the work is claimed as exclusive, it must remain as such. No selective sharing will be allowed (ie, allowing certain people to use it and not others). Should the developer decide to start sharing the work with others, the work automatically becomes fair game for all to use, albeit with the relative credit displayed.
In regard to permissions, the same rules apply for this but if permission was already given and unless there is a very valid reason, it cannot be revoked (same applies to major updates on the work). Under that same premise, permissions cannot be denied unless the work is exclusive or under extreme circumstances.
In plain English: If you want to keep your work exclusive, go for it. However, if you are going to share your work, do it fairly.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA (including but not limited to ROMs, RUUs, apps, games, kernels, themes, icons, etc) unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

And to be clear, removing a couple of apps it is not development. If you had the permission from the dev, your thread would be in the General section.

Support for all devices will be added after fixing some compatibility issues on a good range of devices...... But works perfectly with MT4G tho , a auto installation of ADB wireless if your lazy like me. ACpatcher, ICS status bar layout patcher, and new scripting codes!;
I would respect constructive feedback/criticism because I'm a young mind looking into developing...and such!
Expect v1.9 to come November 10th (Thursday) with BUGFIXES

True, sorry this is one of my first threads
Advice:
Search "Scripts" here on XDA and youll find lots of results. The most popular ones that I kow of so far are the V6, Darktremor, and Juwe(?) Ram Scripts. A good starting point would be to start an official "Scripts" thread and provide links to each popular script devs forum thread. Ask the devs permission if you can link direct download links to their script so you can track which ones are more popular with users and then collaborate with the devs themselves on making a batch script .zip file that contains multiple scripts for different functions (RAM mods, partitioning mods, etc). Script manager is a useful app, but I would rather all scripts be flashable through cwm. If you really push yourself on this project I really think you could gain a good following among fellow XDA users. Good luck
although I would prefer using windows batch scripts because then I could use adb help and I'm familiar with most commands. I still have alot to Learn about making update.zip which can be flagged in recovery...so for know, I'll stick with what I already know. but I might look in to what you suggested and I've already started private message some people. :-]

Its not so much that but by going to the original thread it ensures the user gets the most up to date script. The how to is an excellent idea but some of your steps conflict his steps
Another note....#5 suggests we get a paid app via warez....that I know is against the rules you might remove that

Hi,
Since RC7 does not work.
What version should be used?

What's wrong with RC7? I installed it successfully on my phone, and it runs. Can't tell much of a difference though.
Is there something specific installation error that you are running into, or do you have a way to check if the script is running correctly? If I try to run /data/99Supercharger.sh again, it tells me the my phone is already supercharged and to verify that "Ran_Supercharger" exists in /data, which it does.
After installing Balance 3, I see no difference in the Go Launcher. LauncherPro is better than ever, and my battery life is now really good.
So... it sort of worked.

I got the latest script to run on my Note, on stock.
I seen no difference at all.
I'm throwing SauROM on it tonight, because I am having other issues too that the rom should fix, I hope. Citrix wants to auto delete the first thing it sees in Active Directory. I don't think my work would appreciate me if I deleted the entire Servers column in AD.
I would love to install this. But.your instructions differ greatly..you suggest a busting install along withal file explorer install.. He suggests script manager.
And there is some question as to which pdt we should be using.
I have a seperate thread with his install instructions linked. I referenced file explorer because i didn't realize u could mount rw. If your THAT confused u should probably not install it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
In not confused. To the contrary, i understand almost wholly. But what isnt clear, is whether his instructions are sufficient or that they work with out note.
Its not clear which version of the script we need...or which set of instructions we should use.
Listing a set of instructions in a note specific forum (ones that differ from those elsewhere) implies that the others wont work on our device....or that something could be easier or go wrong.
Thank you for pointig the supercharger mod out. I was unaware of it. With that said, id still like to install it.
Which PDF do we use?

my thread was designed to link instuctions for setup and also discuss which scripts are working for the Gnote (case and point, my experience with update 9RC7 which isn't working for me, but does for another user). for me update 9rc6 works fine.... i would try RC7 too - lot of nice features

IN GoLauncher ---> make sure you set icons to "Default Size" because using LARGE or CUSTOM is one of the main Culprits to lag.... also get the 2.85 version
I have no lag.
Anyone tried this on the ICS leak builds?
Super charger us the best mod to improve speeded etc. however this is my second phone that after super charging my phone doesn't shut down all the way. If i power off then plug it in., it reboots. Also wifi constantly looses data connection. Both issues are related to one of the supercharger tweaks just not sure which one is causing it. Maybe home bullet proof.

Anyone run an Odexed rom?

I attempted to ask a few questions in the Project Odex thread but was promply told to "search for it it is easy to find".... Kind of agrivating when you just got done doing just that, especially considering the title specifically states "for those that want mods"...
Anyhow I was hoping I could bug those that do for some ideas of the mods you use for Odex roms etc, and maybe any warnings about mods that do not work so well.

I attempted to ask a few questions in the Project Odex thread but was promply told to "search for it it is easy to find".... Kind of agrivating when you just got done doing just that, especially considering the title specifically states "for those that want mods"...

That completely depends on the rom and the mods that you want to change. System mods don't matter on odexed or deodexed. The individual app mods will have to be made for the odexed rom though since they need both jar and apk files to work. Hope this answered your question.
I am just not finding much of anything, some of the basic things I would love to find are something to remove the wifi nag, and something like Wanam xposed that will work on 4.1.2

This ROM is an exact copy of my ROM Light Xperion.

I am totally not fine with someone stealing my work, adding a few files and then reproducing it as their own. I had spent hours together for porting the apps and making them stable and would i like it if someone just copies the apks in their rom without my permission? No he didn't ask my permission before using my files. Here are my observations to prove that its a remake of my rom:
1. Updater script is the same, no changes at all. Just changed rom information and different installation method.
2. My ported systemui.apk which took me so long to get it stable is present in this rom. Same app size and same date modified (Infact most of the apps have same date modified). My Systemui has glitches like widened icons. There are almost all my ported apps present.
3. I had simply added some apks without relevent folders in /app and /priv-app to make me recognize my work which is also there in rom.
Please close this thread.

[MOD] [NO ROOT/ROOT] Simple, fast and efficient debloating.

Intro:
I tried using MIUI a lot of time before and always found it so full of apps.
So I searched around xda and compiled a list with packages to remove, which I consider was great because it was a fast and easy way to clean my device.
In the end I thought of sharing it with you, because why not? (xda is all about mods and sharing them right?)
Without further ado:
Instructions:
1) Download the file attached to this post and open it with any text viewer, I recommend notepad++.
2) Open a cmd or powershell window,
3) Run
adb shell (or .\adb shell if powershell)
su (optional depending if you have root)
4) Copy and paste the whole list into the open adb window.
P.S. AND WARNING:
You should really check what you're getting rid of, I suggest Googling every package you are not familiar with.
Also since this is a simple text file you can delete or add packages to adjust to your personal needs, I'm just dropping this as a personal template to make it easy and fast for you to debloat your device.
This is made with the Xiaomi Mi 8 in mind running MIUI, but can work on other brands and devices.
If a packeage trying to uninstall isn't there it'll just skip it and move on, so it's safe to use on any device, just not as effective.
(also of course like with any mod I won't be held responsible for any damage or misfunction that occurs, you're doing this on your own will and your own risk.)
With that being said, cheers, enjoy!
The instructions are inside the text file as well for offline usage.

Huge thanks and a big shout out to @Agimax @biggary @RedSkull23 @didgerid00 for providing a lot of info for me to compile my personal list. :highfive:

Glad to see that my work (among the work of others bloat-listing volunteers) is useful mate! :highfive:
The devices we own must be kept clean (and custom ROMs and GSIes help a lot here luckily) so let's keep us updated about new bloats

Other than the fact that you'll lose mi clouds functionality, it should be possible and most likely safe.

I can say the same you said . Every rom/ custom rom should have only basic apps like telephone , messages , camera , settings , and one or two apps more . Others one user should install what he needs .
is it safe to delete all of the things in the list?
LITE Vesion available.
A friend of mine suggested some of the features that got removed could be useful (for some that is) and asked me to make a lite version of the tweak, so yeah, I made one for him and I'm posting it here as well.
Enjoy.
