Razr XT910 is GSM (for Europe)
Razr XT912 is CDMA (for USA)
Razr MAXX coming in both versions, the only difference is in the battery,it have 3300mAh unlike those above, they have 1780 mAh.
Razr MAXX HD is a completely different phone, you have a different thread for it.

Yes,just be sure to find correct root methode,I don't know what you are buying,XT912 or XT910.
Also, there's one methode for ICS (4.0.4) and another for JB (4.1.2)...

Hey.. I have gotten it.
Sad thing is that i didnt get the maxx, i got the droid razr(atleast thats what is written in settings.)
I let the battery die out and its being lying there for almost 10 minutes now.
Its on android 4.0(ics), also the battery isnt that good.
One other thing is the battery reduces in 5. for example 5%,10%,15%....

My phone automatically started downloading the jb 4.1 update, I read the jb update only brings poor performance.
I am trying to make it stop downloading but no matter what I do it still downloading.
I have tried disconnecting data, and force closing an up called updater(which stops the download for a short time but it relaunches itself in a few seconds) and the disable option isn't available for that app.
Please help me out

Yes there is working ICS. You really need to go to droidhive.com or droidrzr.com for information. I don't know if you have CDMA but those sites have a lot more activity for CDMA phones. Plus you need to READ!

The pros of ICS?! Lots of pros. Cons are it is leaked and installing can be a pain if you don't have everything in order in case something goes wrong. That is why I said you need to read and do research to understand this phone and how flashing works.

Guys i got sick of waiting and searching the forums.
Did this and it is amazing. I wouldnt even care to be stuck on it. I had no idea what i was messing. I dont see how the real update can be any better.
Just make sure you flash to .181 root only dont install anything else. Then do as instructed. Zero problems battery life is good, camera all works.

Yes.
....and I'm not sure why it's posted here in the development section.
Yeah sorry. Just thought it would help some people find it. I had a hell of a time. Mods move to where ya want i just feel like most of us cant find what we need. This is an extremely good build im very happy with it. Yes its for the cdma xt912....
If anyone needs help message me.
Easy to do once you get back to stock .181. I had to use matts utility to get back to stock. But RSD should be fine just get root then do exactly as instructed.

Yup!

trouble doing sbf

im running the droid RAZR utility and i get my phone in AP fastboot but when i try to start the sbf it sits at "waiting for device" and does nothing. i installed the drivers that the utility came with and enabled USB debugging on the phone but still nothing.
Im currently running black widow rom
my computer also doesnt even show my phone is plugged in but its charging...
UPDATE. Now im stuck in ap fastboot with "Boot failure" what now?...
UPDATE 2: Im using the older razr tool (the one that puts u back on the .173 or w/e instead of the .181 and so far its not getting any errors.
UPDATE 3: well got a boot failure again...
After 7 hours straight I solved it. Thanks for no help everyone.

We got different Timezones, so maybe some Users, that would help where just sleeping or on the way. Sorry, but we work and sometimes got stuff to do in real Life...glad to hear, you fixed your Problem by yourself.
Learning by doing (& searching) is the best way to keep things in mind > my usual way for new stuff

Why not root your phone? You can un-root at anytime. ICS is too good to wait for an actual release

Just did it myself, and it was extremely easy... I am a NOOB by the way... if I can do it, you can.
One suggestion... READ EVERY SINGLE WORD... then read it all again... and then 3 more times until you know it before you get to it... it will save you a lot of grief... trust me on this one...
I hate the new upgrade of Rogers Droid Razr ICS
I upgrade it finally but now I hate ICS.
After the upgrade my phone is to slow even if I reset it twice, flash player don't work at all, webtop act funny and totally different(I like the old one), Some of my apps don't work or crashes alot, its not easy to uninstall apps like 2.3.5&2.3.6, my wifi & GPS went on&off with out doing anything, my GPS apps doesn't work at all, ....
I like the new look of ICS but when its come to the function, its ****ed up!!!

You should back up your data, boot into stock recovery or if you're using custom recovery (cwm/bootmenu) and do a factory wipe. It's painful as you'll have to set up your phone again from scratch but it will fix most of your issues with apps crashing.

[Q] installing rom

can you install 'razr' roms to 'razr maxx'??
Yes the razr and razr maxx are the same phone spec wise except for the battery. Also make sure you download/flash the right rom for your phone; xt910=gsm and xt912=cdma.
