I agree 100 percent

I am using it as well. Has all the best features and even those you'd think you wouldn't want.

Cherrypick lol
SOKP included too many features from various main-stream aosp roms. Maybe good for people to try and decide which is best for them.

You can never have too many features. This is the perfect ROM. Has features from one ROM as well as other features from others. Many of us want a few features together but all of those ROMs don't have those features, they're exclusive. I don't see the problem with cherry picking.

Miui rom

Has anyone else heard of the miui rom? It looks beautiful! Would be awesome to see a port for our phone one day, not that it's really necessary. We're already a bit spoiled for choice If you haven't already heard of it then check it out, some say its better than CyanogenMod.

Damn, didn't even notice
There is a MIUI theme for some roms, if you like. But no MIUI rom.
As far as i'm concerned there is no porting to the P500 - nevertheless the rom is really great looking and people who use it seem to be very happy, but if there's no version for the LG, then we can't do nothing about it

LG G2/Nexus5 hardware rom compatibility ?

In the future, will it be possible to extract Nexus5 rom/updates and apply them directly to G2 ?
Just asking, because G2 and Nexus are sharing a lot of same hardware.
It'll probably be easier to port Nexus5 rom, instead of having a lot of work on a common 10.2CM ?

Its fairly easy to port ROMS from Nexus 5. However reading log cats is the main thing here. Thankfully most people can't read log cats so it stops the noobs flood the place with terrible ports. To answer your question yes it can.

Thx for answering.
Just asking, because i'm really fan of AOSP/light roms.
We don't know availability of Nexus5 (already out of stock), so G2 could be a great alternative to Nexus5 (with better battery lol)

Yes, but is it better to port rom from Nexus5 directly (with probably minor adaptations), or to adapt a common CM10.2 tree to G2 devices ?

CM is CM, AOSP is AOSP. It's close, but it's not AOSP, especially these days.

Was getting ready to say the same thing... It does have some changes, which I think are generally for the better.
CM is AOSP based, very enhanced thou with tweaks and major overhaul thanks to gerrit submissions and great dev community.

Exactly, CM is built from AOSP.
there is a guy with a video on youtube that says he has files to download to the g2 to make it a virtual nexus 5. he demos it and says the files are in the description but I did not see them there. He says no root is required and it does look like a nexus 5, but I don't know if it is kitkat or not. it also looked like he was getting some FCs too.

Yea the Optimus G Pro already received 4.4 based off the N4. I'm suprised we haven't got 4.4 based off the N5 yet. Perhaps the devs are still getting comfortable with the new hardware.
Real good to know about the N5/G2 ease of porting. I'm particularly curious about the kernels and how similar they are to one another. Moving forward with newer versions of Android, the kernels are the important thing.
I'm hoping it'll be easier to port roms over. The only concern I have is whether or not they'd work with the VZW version. Not sure if you could use the RIL from the G2 or a new file from scratch would have to be made to be able to get working data.

of course it's possible to port franco kernel to the g2. the kernel sources are released from lg afaik.
but someone has to do it which is really bad with that many different device configurations.
give it some time and you will see kernels coming, i'm sure

Sure, if you want to try compiling it yourself. There are excellent instructions in the developers forums at the top of the main forum. No one here is currently working on a PA ROM.
If you'd like to try out a ROM that includes the main features of PA as well as the best of Evervolv, CyanogenMod, and AOKP try @josegalre PACman ROM, but it is currently at JellyBean-4.3 or if you really want to try KK either @sportsstar89 CyanogenMod-11 or @jeepers007 Evervolv ROMs, but they are still buggy (as are most KK ROMs for legacy devices like ours at this time) and in more of a beta state then ready for daily driver use.

Thanks. The only way we can keep our devices up to date, since we've been abandoned by HTC, is to stay active here and to support the Devs who're working so hard keeping the Amaze alive.

your right.htc completely abandoned our device and to top it all ours is not the easiest device to compile roms for.s3 mini and slightly newer devices have 4.4 kk roms like pacman fully functioning without any bug and we should all do our part and help our devs who are doing a great work

Camera APP

Can someone recommend a great camera app for this phone? AOSP camera sucks, Google camera is decent but still not comparable to LG's one. Any suggestions?
My go to when running AOSP based ROMs is Snap Camera. Tons of features and options. Great camera app.
take a look at this one.

Thank you gentlemen.
Is it at all possible to make LG's camera work with an AOSP rom? It just seems to work so much better.

Yep. The only thing keeping me from jumping to AOSP roms. Can't deal with the poor camera on AOSP.
Found this in the Illusion G+ community. I flashed it on Cloudy v1.2 to see if it would also work on 4.4 KitKat Roms. It does. Haven't tested on Lollipop. As always a nandroid is recommended. I didn't clear cache or dalvik and no issues. Nor did I examine contents of this zip...I live dangerously lol. Simply sharing hoping to help out. I take no credit for this and will try to credit the source when I find it.
I'm not sure what version is posted already here, but here is a link to the motorola camera 5.0.7.1 version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-motorola-camera-5-0-7-1-material-t3007246

Various CM12/Lollipop Flavors Question

Is there any sort of resource to kind of get an idea of what all of the different CM12 based ROMs offer?
I do not like flashing on this phone, it seems really fussy, so trying to do some homework before I choose.
Best thing to do would be to traverse all the 5.0 threads and just browse them for the features, bugs, etc.

I can tell you that out of all lollipop based roms I've tried, seems illusion is the most stable to me. One or two of the other ones, I kept getting dialer or phone fcs.

Also, if you check the T-Mobile g3 sub-forum, there are threads for most if the Roms to give you an idea. But, yes, I agree, it would be nice to have some dedicated threads. That said, I'm certainly not complaining. Pump ac7ion is doing great AOSP stuff here, as are others.
