Hi folk
Since few time I got a BenQ F5 nice phone really
Root is ok ( I used galaxy verizon way ) but ...
But since I like to make crazy thing on my phone, I wanted to make a backup before to brick it lol
But I don't know How to do q.q
I also think build a cwm for that phone can be really nice but I need to dump kernel and maybe more.
Can someone help me ? ( I'm familiar with adb and a little with fastboot )

hi chocoboss, I couldn't answer your question but I need your help of how to root my phone. I've got a Kogan agora 4G which is really a BENQ F5 with a 8mp camera instead of 13mp. You said you used galaxy verizon way, can you tell me what root software and driver you used.
PS i bought my phone from Australian website Kogan.

He's referring to the towelroot method.

You can modify settings for towelroot like this:

Then after towelroot has rooted your phone, you just download and install a root management app like SuperSU or ClockworkMod's superuser.
So, you don't even need to sideload.
For the driver, you don't really need it to gain root for this method, but there are a number of generic and universal adb drivers or an adb installer and/or pdanet(http://pdanet.co/a) for android that should work. Then you just use the typical, 'fastboot oem unlock', 'adb sideload xyz.zip', etc. steps.

Hi,
I'm looking to buy this phone to do some development - specifically building/porting Cyanogenmod to it. Did you manage to root your Agora? This is essential in order to develop CM and I don't want to buy it if it can't be rooted.

Did you have any success with your phone? I have just got myself a 4G+, which sounds even closer to the F5, hopefully there is a way!

Any suggestions to start with? towelroot can't do it by default, and I'm not really sure where to begin with the modstrings...

Ahhh this is not good news, I'd like to buy the agora 4+ but definitely want root!
Have you tried all the rooting methods? Framaroot, Towelroot, Kingo?

Tried all (with lots of modstrings options on tr - maybe I just couldn't find the right combination, but that was a pain to enter in)... and yeah, I'd like root too; I want to be able to dim the capacitive touch buttons (won't work as it is - when using an ebook reader say), remove some apps... everything else is workable.

Hola yo tengo 2 móviles stsraddict 4 que son los benq f5 de la casa SFR de Francia y como los kogan agora australianos..
Yo no he tenido ningún problema para hacer root en los dispositivos... Y los hice root con kingoroot sin problemas...
Pero no encuentro roms oficiales ni modo de liberar sim .. Si alguien conoce donde descargar roms pasa este dispositivo diganlo por aquí..

So i wanna root with my bootloader locked as i see it done by other people but i cant find how to do it, Also can someone tell me how. that would be great thx. i just wanna root is so i can manually control the lightbar strip on my phone. Until today i search into the web how root this device: LG Optimus L7 II Dual P716
I dont found any post or thread about it....or the one found is not clear or fail.
Then seeking into the android play store i found some thing very nice.
1. If your device have android JB (4.1.2) you can root it using this app: King Root ( donwload from the site)
2. If your device have android Kitkat (4.4.2) you ca root it using this software for PC: Root Genius ( download from the site)
How use it:
1. P716 with JB (4.1.2) use King Root: Install the app and then open it ( you need wifi active)--push Try it--if appear the warning: this device is not supported, ignore it and push button Root--wait a several second--then your device was rooted.
2. P716 with KK (4.4.2) use Root Genius: copy the root genius.exe to your Pc (desktop maybe)--in your device go to settings-developer options-turn on debug mode--then conect to your Pc--now execute root genius and when your device is connected click Root it--wait a while and then your KitKat was rooted.
Now you can manage your device how you want it and at your own risk.
Please avoid uninstall anything without ask first.
In other post i will tell you how install recovery CWM, follow step still post in XDA and how to flash the android kitkat in this model.

Havent found all the info so i had to ask
I currently own an X Style. As of right now there is zero root methods available but remember its a fairly new device. That being said I have high hopes of a root method soon.
I hope we get it soon. This phone would be so much better without all the preloaded bloatware..
Wonder if anyone has tried any of the generic rooting methods? I'm thinking about attempting a root on this $20 LG L53BL model. I know there probably aren't any roms available, but just having root for blocking ads, disabling apps etc. would be a huge step forward. Seems like a nice little device.

I tried to use KingRoot to root (then use Super sume) to get of KingUser, but King Root could not root it. Unfortunately, I really don't want to use an unrooted phone.
I cannot even find a stock bootloader on the darn thing.
I've tried all the button combinations and adb reboot bootloader and it always boots to live mode.
I tried Kingroot, Kingoroot, and Poot, but had no luck.

does the straight talk lg x style prompt for an unlock code if another provider sim is put in? or does the 2945 dial method to bring up hidden menu work?

I was able to root my device with Magisk https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html
OTA updates won't work anymore because your device will stay in orange state.
I tried extracting the boot.img file to patch it with magisk, but it didn't work. I recommend you to use the temporary root you find here for Mediatek: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/amazing-temp-root-for-mediatek-armv8-2020-08-24.3922213/
