hi sorry i'm delaying the release of tool but life gets in my way ...
seems like lg has made it even more difficult than rest of the qualcomm side of series
the partiton doesnt seem to be there unless they hid behind some new innovative name
could you run tool attached ?
hopoefully that will reveal the location of the darn thing

How soon tool will be ready for use? Sorry for my English, I'm from Russia (4PDA, P713). Logo.img (Qualcomm) is RLE image (RGB565) with unknown features.
I have tool which can convert rle (img) to png, but the converse operation leads to hard bricked phone.

No custom rom for the moment. Mike said that he made a recovery mode, let's see what will happen in the next version and if it will be possible at that moment.

In fact, you can mod the current firmware if you know what to do... I activated the software keys on mine (you know, the home, back, applist). You just have to mount the img file, or use adb and you can try to change things.

Mounting the img file needs Linux (you need something like mount -t ext2 -o loop polishblood_Nightlyi1.img ../the_folder_you_created_for_mountpoint) but if you just want to make smaller modifications (eg. replacing one apk, or editing some configfile) adb on Windows is enough. If you use my kernel then you will have write access to /system, too.
As a "proof of concept" I "ported" a firmware from Galaxy S (AOKP). You can experiment with it, just replace the polisblood_Nightly1.img (and preferably replace data.img and cache.img with the original ones.)

WinHex can open and extract files/folders from *.img ...
https://dms.ospserver.net/v1/device...?pkgID=FW-20120626-14658&service=fumo&wrkID=W
To build... not tested yet... But I think also more Windows Tools exists...
But for starting research WinHex is enough.
Best Regards
Thanks For your Replies
I have mounted polishblood_Nightly1.img using "sudo mount -o loop polishblood_Nightly1.img ../android"

There are no such tools... You can find scripts to extract the initramfs but that's all. You have to compile your kernel to make real changes.

[P/U/Sola/Go][TOOL] Flashable zip Kernel Creator

Hello everyone !
After creating flashable recovery zips of TWRP for multiple ROMs of Xperia U (TWRP for Xperia U by NoobCoder),
I want to share today my tool with Xperia P/U/Sola/Go community !
This simple tool permit create an recovery flashable zip file for our phones from img or elf kernel/recovery !
But first you need this tool if:
A developper of an kernel or an recovery don't create an flashable zip of kernel/recovery
You want or need flash kernel before install an ROM
You have Windows 8/8.1 and you have problems with fastboot
You prefer a recovery flashable kernel/recovery
Click to collapse
The tool requires:
OS: Windows or Linux (and Mac I think)
Java installed on your computer
Kernel/Recovery file (boot.img or boot.elf)
An Xperia P/U/Sola/Go phone with recovery installed (CWM or TWRP)
Click to collapse
If everything is good for you, we can begin !
First you need download my tool on this link > Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator_v1.5.zip
Uncompress the zipped folder where you want and after go in uncompressed Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator folder.
Copy kernel .img or .elf file in tool folder (where you can find 7za.exe, run_linux.sh, etc...)
Now you can start script !
If you are on Windows open run_windows.bat file and if you use Linux (or Mac) start the run_linux.bat file.
When you start the script an list of all .img or .elf files in the folder appears. You have just to enter the number associed with the kernel you want to create the zip.
Wait few seconds and after script end you found boot_signed.zip file.
Copy it in your phone and flash this boot_signed.zip file on the phone recovery (CWM or TWRP).

Version 1.5
Version 1.5 is out !
In this new version, the idea of @Abhinav2 is added !
You can add any .img or .elf file without rename it and when you start the script an list of all .img or .elf files in the folder appears. You have just to enter the number associed to the kernel you want to create the zip file !
Compatible also Windows and Linux/Mac !
You can download the new version here: Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator_v1.5.zip
It is really possible that it won't work, but I don't lose anything if I ask
Could I flash a custom kernel on locked bootloader with this method?

Oh , I thought you were running Ubuntu , because with Ubuntu you can mount the system.img with a command and browse it with the file explorer as if it was an USB removable disk.
